It is a man's MIND that determines where he is "Hot" or "Not" - Donaldson's sears. He is scatterbrained, a rambler, off topic almost always and absolutely BRILLIANT. He's a funny, passionate lecturer, but he speaks very metaphorically and yaps. He's helpful in office hours and can clear things up if you're confused. The lecture quizzes are a pain, but if you know what you're doing they can boost your average. It might be the course, but the assignment guidelines were vague, and the course is very TA dependent.

Did not just read off of the slides, packed a lot of info into lectures. Quizzes for those lectures to get more students to show up.

What gave TAs the right to attach such a low mark onto work that I've poured my heart into, and revised so many times based on feedback? Even for a creative writing class, there should be some sort of rubric for grading, that is as objective as possible.. Avoid.

Sometimes he's funny, sometimes he's not. He really tries, but his lectures are boring, and I can barely understand what he's trying to say because he conveys his ideas in such a confusing way. The course is pretty assignment heavy. Tutorial submittable's required. Course was fine- focuses on style a lot like 4U English. Lecture quizzes weekly.

1VV3 was a mandatory class, and was focused on freewriting. By freewriting, I mean the worse and more incomprehensible you wrote, the better mark you got. I started by writing in a polished and cohesive manner, and failed the first paper, but then wrote stupidly, and received a 90% for it. Donaldson never answers emails, and has pointless lectures.

He was overall a good guy and made many good points but got confused as to whether or not he was teaching a class or preforming stand up comedy. As most of the assignments i had recieved back were often 3 weeks after submission when the next assignment was due. Overall hes a good guy but it depends heavily on how you learn.

I found him to be a hilarious yet the class is sooooo pointless. I think this makes it tricky to figure out which parts of the class were bad because of the prof or because of the nature of the class. I think if I were to have him as my prof in a real class, it would be one of my favourites.
