He is an awesome professor and very good at teaching the material. However, he sets up his tests so they CANNOT be finished! If this freaks you out, do not take his class!

really knows his material, but his tests are very hard!
hard, dont take him. I talked to him and he told me he likes to fail students. from my understanding, He enjoys it. If you are awesome in chemistry you will still be spending two hours a night on the book.
Good guy and means well. But, tests are to long to finish and are very difficult. This is for the best of the best in chemistry and even then you will strugle.
His tests are very difficult and hard to finish. However, he is very helpful and he makes the information very clear. If you just want to get a good grade, and dont care about learning anything, don't take him.
I've never actually hated a professor, until now. Cannot finish tests in alloted time, and if you do half of what you thought was right will be nit-picked. First time this honors student will fail a class. Sad
If you want to spend your entire collegiate career (at LEAST four years; 12 quarters) just taking general chem, I'd reccommend taking this guy. If not, I'd suggest finding someone else.
He really knows the material, but moves fast and has long tests. Dont take this if you are looking for an easy A. Spend plenty of time studying, and not just a little bit, and you can pass.
His test are very difficult.
good proffessor, hard, but very clear about expectations. very good at lecturing, and very helpful if he can tell you put some time in before asking questions. not as hard as people claim he is, I really enjoyed his class
He is very strait foreward on what is gonna go down.. half the class will fail. dont take if you want an easy A although if your sharp it will make you learn and you will enjoy the class and not be with a bunch of stupid ppl cuz the idiots will fail :)
he doesn't curve his tests. only 15 ppl out of 40 passed in my class. he was un willing to help us succeed
he was terrible
He is a nice guy, een kind of funny, but I couldn't understand a damn thing he was talking about!
A great guy, and nice to talk to. He explains things really well during lecture, but then it seems as if the tests don't have much to do with what was gone over in class. He expects the students to "assume" too much. Being a biology major, and this being an intro chemistry class, I didn't like the fact that it was so difficult!
when i was in his class i knew that dr. rahn was a great guy but i thought his class was a living hell. once out of it i can see what he was trying to do. not only will this class prepair you to the fullest extent in chemistry but will also learn to figure out how to cut in it college. i think that this is what a realy course SHOULD be like that. no enought classes here are challenging to the mind. college should be hard... a walk through the park isnt going to prepair us for the real world.
he knows his****, and wants you too know it. anyone who survives this chem series without changing their major should be proud of their committment. hes a good guy, and will put the effort out if you are willing. he goes over tests so fast, he makes you feel like an idiot sometimes. o well
hes not a good teacher if your a slow learner and need a lot of help, but if you are able to keep up he'll prepare you well

He's amazing. But hard. If you want an easy grade, take Parker, if you want to learn, actually take a college class, and maybe even be able to use chemistry when you're done, take Rahn. He's worth the trouble.
Very good in class but hard tests.
Every question is a stupid question in Rahn's class. He is very condescending toward students. Someone asked him to provide an example of what he was talking about and he went on a 5 min lecture about how we need to be less dependent on him. HORRIBLE PROF!!!
Extremely difficult. If you miss a class, you may as well not go to another one and plan to retake the class next quarter. He's a nice guy but, one of those ridiculously brilliant people who doesn't understand why one might struggle with the subject matter.
Dr. Rahn is a hard prof but he is willing to help if you are willing to listen. His expectations are high, but that is expected in COLLEGE CHEMISTRY classes. This isn't a free 4.0 class... you'll work for every point you get. Overall a good prof with high expectations and a good sense of humor when you get to know him.
Professor Rahn is a great person and can take a joke. HOWEVER if you're not that into chemistry I would take the class from an easier prof. He knows how to explin concepts and is a fantastic lecturer with lots of examples and answeres questions, but his test MAKE YOU THINK!! If you dont fully understand the concepts, you wont pass. KNOW YOUR STUFF!
Dr. Rhan is a very smart man but his expectations are way too high. Yea its a college chemistry class but come on, his tests are totally ridiculous and if you are not one of the 10 students in the class who isn't gifted in chemistry, you might as well be prepared to retake the class. if you do end up in this class: RUN!
He is extremely smart, so you have to understand a guy with his genius having to teach the basics to a bunch of beginners, he might not fully appreciate the difficulty of grasping all the concepts. You NEED to study alot and you NEED to KNOW what he teaches. Stick with it and you'll be as good as he is. STUDY, go to study groups, dream of chemistry
To put it plain and simple, if you do not put in the time to KNOW the material backwards and front, you will fail. Dr. Rahn expects us to have a clear understanding of everything covered in the text and lecture, and he will test your knowledge like none other. Also, a word to the wise, KNOW YOUR SIGNIFICANT FIGURES!!!
The man took a full point off of a hmwk assignment because my name wasn't in the upper right-hand corner, but rather on the upper right-hand line; enough said. Also, while I received about 50% credit on labs, my partner who has another Chem prof, received 95%. The man is extremely unfair in his grading process, making it very difficult to succeed.
Don't take Chem from him. I turned in a quiz 'late' (Meaning literally one minute after he asked for it) and he deducted 25% of my quiz score. He expects a lot of students and his standards are set way to high for a beginning chem class. I would highly suggest another professor.
do not take any class with this teacher
He expects you to reach his level of understanding of the material the moment he writes it on the board, and has zero tolerance for those who struggle to understand the concepts. To get a 4.0, you need to earn a 96% or better...which is impossible. The average GPA students get in his classes is a 2.3. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
If you're looking to be great at chemistry or plan on going on in chemistry, take Rahn.. It expects a lot from his students, but you will get use to it, and a 4.0 IS possible in his class...
This class was insane, much too difficult for a general chem class. He shows examples all period but provides no context for understanding. Unless you are a Chem major steer clear of him. He understands the material, but doesn't understand how to teach it. You will undoubtedly miss a majority of your points on small errors. Insane!
SUPER, SUPER HARD!!!!
He is a good teacher but he is very very hard.
After transferring to the UW and taking more advanced chemistry courses there, which are curved and even MORE difficult than Rahn's, I am somewhat grateful for having taken him. He is tough, but it got me to learn to study better. Unfortunately, he will penalize you for really stupid things, like if your Z in Zn looks too much like 2n. Come on, man.
Incredible profesor! His lectures were performed with the uttmost clarity. The guy even has a sense of humor. His class is difficult about 75% withdrawal rate by the final, but this is what a college course should be like. Be extremely precise and work ALL problems in the back of the book. Highly recommended if you actually want to learn chemistry!
He is an awesome teacher! He has a great teaching style and you know exactly what is going to be on the test. He does expect a lot from his students but you learn so much! I passed with a 3.3
He is an amazing teacher. If you try hard and study you will do good. Yes he is hard but this is college so put in the time and you will do good.
Awesome professor!!! SUPER HARD but you will know chemistry very well. It is POSSIBLE to get a 4.0!
Rahn is difficult, but it keeps you on track. He gives weekly HMWK assignments. They help with the test, try hard on them. His tests are rather difficult. He pays great attention to sig-figs. And make sure you write clearly. He's tough, but he makes more sense than other Gen-Chem Profs. Usually tries to give multiple types of examples for questions
Amazing professor! It is definitely not an easy class, but you will learn so much from him that it is worth taking this class! He gives many helpful examples and will always help his students when they have questions. Hope he could teach o-chem!
This guy is my advisor and i really respect him. This isn't an easy class. Don't expect it to be. Expect to learn a lot and develop good study habits that will carry over to your upper division classes. Extremely structured; homework follows the lecture schedule. Tests are designed to make you think outside the box rather than regurgitation.
Great teacher. Explains concepts clearly and is very helpful out of class. His tests are Very challenging. He demands a lot from his students, but you will know chem better than you ever wanted to. A 4.0 isn't unreasonable, but you will work harder than ever to get it.
Dr. Rahn is by no means an easy professor, but I don't think he's as hard as everyone says he is. If you read the chapters, do the homework, do problems on your own, and actually try to understand the material and not just complete the homework, you should do fine. Dr. Rahn is a really nice guy and always willing to help.
Dr. Rahn had no interest in helping his students pass. He is just there to teach the course. I was not impressed by his teaching nor his attitude towards his students.
I love how Dr. Rahn is so organized! His lectures are set up so you can easily understand how everything fits together. He comes to class prepared and doesn't try to make up examples on the fly. I would definitely recommend him if you want to actually know chemistry. He is extremely difficult but he is an awesome professor and well worth taking.
Class is beyond difficult, he teaches from a pulpit trying to right the wrongs of the world by personally weeding those he wants out. He will not working with you, but do so spitefully with a smile on his face. Not a good teacher, just good at Chemistry. Over half the class was failing 2 tests in. DO NOT TAKE FROM HIM.
He is a good teacher when it comes to teaching chemistry,I have to admit that he knows what he is talking about, but when it comes to helping students hes very selective and his type of help if he gives any at all is useless. his tests are hard to finish! Unless you are a chem major and know many of the chemistry concepts avoid Rahn at all costs!
Poor teaching for students who didn't take chemistry in high school, hard grading with almost no partial credits for a correct work but final calculation error. His exams are longer than the time needed for other than chemistry major.
I came to this class with sincere work ethic. He was arrogant and condescending. I never studied so hard my 3 years of college and fail a class. Only 3 people showed up to take his final exam. Don't take this teacher you will fail. You've been warned. I don't know why this school hires him year after year.
He is really hard! Be prepared to do nothing but study. he teaches well, just make sure you are prepared to give your time to chemistry. Taking two sciences classes was not a good idea for me.
Only take this prof if you are a chem major. He will make you KNOW chemistry by the end, your grade will suffer, but he will give you a great background to start off with. I found myself doing almost every problem at the end of the chapters to prepare for the test and missing class is a no-no. If you take him, I wish you the best of luck!
Don't do it, retaking the class because of him. Way too harsh of a grader, there is no reason I should lose half the points on a problem for forgetting to add a downward curve on a graph. Tests are hard to understand what he is asking. Understood the content, which wasn't overly difficult, just his grading is brutal.
Rahn is an absolute joke. He has NO empathy for struggling students, and docks points for the stupidest things. For example, I accidentally put the order of the homework problems on the sheets with my work on it as 1,2,3,5,4 (not that way on the on my answer sheet) and he docks me a point! AVOID AT ALL COSTS, even if you're a chem major!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Rahn is HARD. Which is a good thing for chem majors or pre-med majors, but awful for anyone else. He's a good teacher, and he let's his expectations be known, but his tests are unreasonable. He expects a mastery of the subject. Read the book, practice hours every single day, and you'll pass, but your GPA won't reflect your knowledge.
Horrible prof. When exam mistakes were pointed out to him he refused to admit making an error and instead said "That's not what I wanted." Another gem "If your answer is valid but not what I wrote on the board it will be incorrect." You won't learn chem you will just learn to regurgitate garbage. Also took points of for NOT extrapolating.
Dr. Rahn is an AMAZING teacher!Yes,he grades hard, but it forces us to understand the material better. He is so nice and caring if you are clearly working hard. His lectures are very clear, detailed, and organized and cover EVERYTHING on the tests. If you actually need to know chemistry, take this teacher. Work hard and you'll get a good grade.
lIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE! This prof almost caused me to quit school. He is arrogant, condescending, not interested in helping you learn chemistry. He is never at his office to answer questions, even when he is suppose to be there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Dr. Rahn is incredibly knowledgable and kind. His lectures move quickly but he explains thing well. However, he does expect you to have a inside and out understanding of nomenclature and a list of common ions memorized. I liked his class but it can be stressful due to its challenging nature. I had him for 151 and 152.
Seriously, look at the comments, he is split one way or the other, like or hate him. His tests are ridiculous, and does not atone for his own wrong doings. He added points wrong on your test? He will find a way to make sure that you don't get them back, and in office hours, I always felt like I was intruding on him. Door closed, seemed inconvienced
He is hard, his exams take him 50 min to cover afterward, with him speeding through frantically on the board copying from a notebook. If you show any sign of ignorance, have a bad day and fail one test, he grades and nitpicks from then on to weed you out. Knowing the charge of a transition metal mentioned once will cost entire portions of the test
There's 2 types of people in the world:People willing to work as hard as they can to do well in a class, and people who expect to breeze through a college course. If you are the latter, then dont take Dr. Rahn.Otherwise,be prepared to work hard and learn more than you thought possible. He's a great teacher. He wants you to succeed if you're working hard
Learned a lot, and I will never forget it. But not sure if it was worth the stress and unsatisfactory grade.
Worst teacher I've ever had, gives no help and will expect you to already be a chemistry major before you start his class. He's very proud of his 50% fail rate and it will be clear after the first test. I have not missed a class and only missed one study group session, and will be lucky to get above a 1.0. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
This is a VERY difficult class and should NOT be taken if you are not motivated. The tests are extremely tough, regardless of how well you believe you know the material taught in lecture. Dr. Rahn tests harder than what he teaches. However, he is very good at teaching the material and willingly helps you if you go to his office. I learned a lot.
I walked into class on day one and he basically shunned us away by saying "you are going to fail my class". He does not want your help and asking questions is a no no. He allowed us to come in 30 minutes early for our first test and as I looked around nobody finished all the problems. Avoid his class he doesn't want to help you.
Long course but it worked out for the best. Just seek out help and he will help. Often.
He deliberately makes the exams as difficult as he can (much harder than in class examples, and harder than the homework problems) and includes as much extraneous chemistry information that he can. He then "nitpicks" every little thing, so that even if you get the answer correct you don't get full credit for it.
Do yourself a favor and don't take his class.
First off he is very rude if you ask him a question in class. Second,he will take points off for stupid stuff. Next, homework and even the examples in the book are nothing in difficulty compared to his tests. He is also inconstant in his grading from student to student. if he likes you you will get a better grade.
Most people assume the worst when it comes to him. Let me assure you he is one of the best lecturers at EWU and is actually really nice/helpful outside of class. He is very clear and extremely knowledgeable in his field. If you want to actually learn and retain information, take his class! His tests are really hard so study study and go to PLUS grp
Great professor. His lectures are clear, and example problems are very easy to follow in notes later. Willing to meet outside of office hours, and is very helpful with questions on homework or labs. Start homework early, do all the odds at the end of the chapter. Taking the Gen Chem series with him left me very well prepared for O Chem.
My favorite professor. He made sure you knew the material thoroughly. He's a tough grader, but only because he tests little details like irregularities, nuances, exceptions, etc. He is not a class for those who don't like to work hard or will not go to the professor for help. Was super helpful even though I never once went during office hours.
Dr. Rahn grades unbelievably hard. You can get the right answer but receive minimal points for ticky tacky errors like significant figures. He often writes things incorrectly on the board making it confusing to take notes from him. his tests are long and, at times, far derivatives from the homework. Just don't take him unless you have to.
Dr. Rahn is hard, but not imposible. His tests always end up being harder than they seem like they're be, so study! He's really picky about labs and requires you to be very accurate and precise to get all the points. He's not an awful person though, and his class isn't impossible: I got a 3.9 without taking a previous chem class.
I took Dr. Rahn's chemistry class my first year in undergrad in 2010. I learned so much from him that when I went to grad school for chemistry, I knew more chemistry than the other students. If all you want is a good grade choose someone else. Want to learn chemistry? Take it from him
Dr. Rahn is my favorite professor at EWU. He is a very picky grader but his tests come straight from lecture and the homework so go to class and take good notes. Taking Dr. Rahn does not automatically mean a bad grade. I got a 4.0, You just have to be willing to work hard and practice a lot. You will come out knowing the material very well.
Professor Rahn himself is a cool guy and a more then decent teacher. However tests are extremely difficult and almost impossible. every question seems to always be a trick question or is made extremely difficult so that there isn't enough time to finish tests. Labs are graded extremely hard as well.
I usually love chemistry but Rahn made me hate it this quarter. He has marked me off multiple points because my C's on Co weren't double the size of the O. Tests are super difficult and often take more time than given. He tends to write stuff on the board wrong and change it after he has already explained everything, making it super confusing.
Rahn shouldn't be teaching an entry level chemistry class. When students ask questions,he rarely gives a straight answer & has told a student they were wrong and did not provide why. Went to him for help on a lab & told him I didn't understand; he watched me fill out the lab and didn't comment when I asked if anything was wrong. Got an F on the lab
Rahn gets a bad rap for being tough. Yes, his class is very challenging, but if you read the book, pay close attention in all his lectures (stuff from class demos show up on tests!), and talk to him during office hours, you'll do just fine. Be prepared to work more for your grade, but feel a lot better about the grade you earn in the end if you try
This professor is the worst teacher I have ever had. I am very good at chemistry and was even asked to be a chemistry tutor at my last college, credits didnt transfer so I had to take the class. Only two people passed the class and its because it was there second time they took it. Save yourself the money and time and take it with someone else.
Dr. Rahn teaches entry level chemistry and expects professional level chemistry students. He is never clear on what he's asking for and always beats around the bush. He enjoys making students feel intimidated and not good enough. On the first day of school he assured us that anyone who wants to be a doctor wont make it. Dont waste your $ or time.
Doesn't provide out of class practice so you'll need the textbook for extra practice and examples, a very very tough grader
Read the other negative reviews. My experience was almost identical to some of the reviews I read. ie. getting marked down substantially for my name being on the top right margin instead of VERY top of page, and for uppercase letters that were not large enough even though everyone else I showed unanimously agreed they were uppercase. Get out!!!
Among the best lecturers at the school one of the my challenging classes I have ever taken work hard and you will get through it, utilize office hours, read the text, do the homework twice with a significant amount of effort, I can honestly say I have certainly learned the material and understand the concepts better than ever before
lectures and example problems are awesome and most of everything he goes over in class will be on the exam in almost the same format as he teaches in class, same goes for the homework. If you want to finish your homework on time and do well on it, start it 3-4 days before. He is very straight forward and expects A LOT of out of class studying.
Dr. Rahn is a fantastic professor. If you are willing to put in the work, you will learn more about chemistry from this professor than any other. If you are just in college for the social aspect and expect to pass with little effort, consider a different professor. Be prepared for hard tests and no curve. You will really feel like you earned it.
You'll MASTER: dimensional analysis, S.F., metric sys., nomenclature, and EVERYTHING in chpt. 1-9. Rahn gives A LOT of partial credit, and is very clear in what he asks. Exams are thorough, but you'll be 100% prepared for them. You'll be much better prepared for ochem and will have grown professionally as a student. Requires: 1-2hr DAILY for an "A"
Horrible
Dr. Rahn has single handedly delayed my time-to-degree by a year. He brags about his extremely high drop and fail rate of over 80%, which is no exaggeration as my class of over 30 students was reduced to only 4 by the end of the course... If you care about passing or keeping your GPA, choose a different chem professor.
Cant understand what he wants us to study prior to test
Didn't have the option to select Chem100 which is what I'm taking w/ Dr. Rahn I don't recommend him if you don't have a background in chem (point of chem 100), he expects you to come in w/ solid chemistry foundation, so you're essentially failing from the get go. He's knowledgeable in his field, but exhibits a total lack of passion to TEACH. waste
Have never been so stressed in a class. Usually an A student, & failed the past 3 tests. Very unclear about what to study for tests, only shows 1 or 2 example problems for each concept, doesn't give extra practice problems. Hw doesn't match tests. Expects you to have a solid understanding of Chem in an intro class. docks points for ANYTHING.
Please avoid Dr Rahn at all costs. I spend so much time trying to excel in this class that I wasnt able to give my other courses adequate attention. Dont put yourself through the agony of this professor.
He's teaching higher CHEM courses, but expects the same level of comprehension and experience from newcomers. No online support, everything paper-only, no option to make up. No excused absences on labs, tests, exam. You can't miss ANY assignments, all late work is graded 0. Basically, you have to know all the material before you start the course.
If you show up in Dr. Rahn's classes and take notes and copy down the examples he does on the board, you'll get it and probably do well on the exams. He goes over what he talked about. He does give homework, but it isn't that bad. His test are cumulative and at the end of the quarter he drops the lowest test.
Very picky on grading Contradicts himself a lot
He takes point off labs for the smallest of things and when you ask questions he gives very vague responses. He doesn't use Canvas and in my class he hasn't given us back half of the assignments and the class is already over, so basically grades are up in the air and you won't know your grade until the very last second.
Dr. Rahn is a HARD grader. I have gotten all A's and 1 B while attending EWU. I failed his class and I honestly tried to pass. This is not an entry level class like advertised. Dr. Rahn is nice but hardest grader I have come across. EX. element Cl (chlorine)was marked incorrect because my C wasn't big enough compared to my l.
Everyone failed their first exam and he said it was our fault, gave us a list of things to memorize for the exam that was not even on it,.
I took 151 with Dr. Rahn (dont call him any other variation of that) and failed and took it again with another professor and received a 3.8. I tried hard in this class. Dr. Rahn is a nice enough and funny guy but not great at teaching
Dr Rahns online teaching was not efficient. Exams were not similar to lecture or textbook material. Grading was unreasonable as you would be marked wrong for the slightest mistakes in your work even if your answer is correct. Took 171 and 172 with different professors and received As in both and barely passed with Dr. Rahn. Avoid if you can.
Dr. Rahn labs were probably the hardest thing ever. He does not explain any instructions and gets mad when you ask questions even though he says ask questions. He lacks empathy towards his students and expects you to know everything single thing in chemistry.
Dr Rahn is by far the worst professor Ive had. My advisor warned me not to take chemistry from dr rahn but unfortunately he was my only option. Dr rahn has no sympathy towards students and genuinely does not care to have a class average below 50%. I do not know why ewu allows him to teach.
He is the only chem teacher that I struggled with. He pretty much relies on you reading the textbook more than him actually going over what he' going to test you on. Homework is irritating because you don't even know if its correct until the day before the test, meaning less than 24 hrs to learn from your mistakes before the exam. Avoid.
Worst professor I have ever had. I should have listened to the reviews on here. Nitpicks the tiniest things on tests, homework, and labs. DOES NOT use canvas, and is extremely difficult to reach out of class. He seems like a good man, just a horrible teacher that should not be teaching anymore.
For perspective, I received A's in the previous two chem series classes. Rahn's test are incredibly hard, and aren't reflective of what is done on homework. About 80% of my class dropped before the final because they were failing. Even if he is the only option, like he was for me, skip and take next quarter to avoid dealing with him.
Watch for your clear precise writing including making sure letters neatly written, does NOT grade on a curve, not very good at explaining. Expects everyone to be experts in a level 100 class. Is more worried about you forming your homework to what's easiest for him to grade rather than understanding class
Ok it sounds nuts, but he's actually way better than the teacher I retook the class for. Yes he's strict at grading and it's test heavy, but he's kind, he helps with homework, and he never makes you feel dumb if you do something wrong. When I visited Rahn for office hours, I don't think I could've passed without his help.
this professor really does not care about if you were to pass, he really does not care for how poor students do on exams and this professor only explains things once and expects you to know the processes he teaches front and back.
Not considerate of his students, blamed the students for not knowing the answers on the exam that over 90 percent of the class failed. We have one drop exam all quarter and he made every singles student use their first exam as their drop exam. I memorized everything he told me to for the exam and spent intensive hours studying to only fail.
Morbidly difficult chemistry professor. Im convinced EWU hired Dr. Rahn to weed students out of the STEM department. If you can pass Dr. Rahn's class, you can do anything. Extremely unfair grading with no mercy. If Dr. Rahn is your only option, don't even bother. All I got from this class was a tanked GPA and an anxiety disorder.
I took Chem100 and I found the class to be extremely difficult for the level of class it is. The pace was very fast and he went over some of the topics that were 20% of the test in only 15 minutes. If you actually try your best in this class and go beyond what it is asked it is still unlikely you may pass. I got a B+ after studying everyday.
I had to spend a lot of time reading the book and practicing outside of class, but if you put in the time it pays off. He is a great lecturer and is very willing to stop and answer questions if you are confused, and will never make you feel stupid. If you take really good notes and are good at organizing your work this can be a really great class.
Dr. Rahn is honestly a great person! I went into his office a few times and he was helpful. With that being said he is the worst prof I have ever had in my existence. The examples done in class and in book are so simple in comparison to the exams. THERE IS NO WINNING. Just avoid the class as a whole. He made us feel dumb and half the class got an F
If you're going to college to learn, take a class from Dr. Rahn. If you're going to college to just get a diploma, try harder.
Professor Rahn's class is challenging, but engaging with the textbook and staying on top of the material can really pay off. The Unstuck ai helped me prep for tests and better understand the course concepts.
He is an amazing professor who really wants his students to succeed and is willing to help you understand the material. He can be pretty strict especially about being on time for class and due dates, but he's very understanding if you have extenuating circumstances. If you want to do well I would recommend his class a million times over.
Very passionate about the material and teaching it. He cares about his students success, but at the same time has no mercy for them. He grades as harsh as they come, writes very challenging tests and hw. Marked my homework as late because I was 3 minutes late to class when he collected them. Come to his class ready for a tyrant.
He is a horrible teacher and no matter what you will either fail or barely pass. On top of that, he takes forever to grade papers and will mark you down for anything. I got marked down for having my notes written on the byline, stapling my paper weird and not capitalizing.
Even when my answers were correct, I lost points for SHOWING my work, capitalization, or unclear expectations. Instructions were confusing, expected to interpret the lab independently. Asking questions isnt gonna help you. A lab assignment was unclear; got a zero because I did not turn it in during office hours—something that wasnt communicated.
