He's a great teacher, enthusiastic, fair tests, an easy A
I hate science and he made me love his class
great teacher, jeff made boring science class fun
Very funny! Knew how to keep us awake.. even at 9 a.m
Great persona, kinda dorky, but funny... like Screech. Goes out of his way to help you out. Great class atmosphere!
Amazing teacher. Has a real-world analogy for everything. So good, you'd even consider taking this class as an elective.
This teacher made difficult material easy to learn! He really loves teaching, and it definitely shows! Jeff kinda looks like a grown-up Harry Potter, only he doesn't have the annoying little British accent :) He is the epitome of what a great professor is
Good class and teacher, GSCI 121 was a nightmare but he made this one quite enjoyable. Throw out the books and only study notes.
Sort of an odd guy, not a hard class though. Do NOT buy the books unless you really want to because the tests are strictly from notes.
this class is a little hard, but take really good notes and study them well and you'll do fine. tests are "fair but difficult." he's really nice, a little nerdy, but it is endearing. funny stories.
Even though he gives his lectures fast they are exactly what is one the test. Don't need the book other then the few pages he directly makes reference to. Very willing to help and is extremly fair.
The subject matter can get difficult but Dr. Andre is extremely entertaining and by far one of the absolute best professors at JMU. He really cares and will do anything he can to help you better understand the class. Take him whenever possible.
Great professor, very nice, if you study for the tests you should do fine, some very interesting lab projects that will help your grade, Dr. Andre is cool!
Dr. Andre is a great professor, he is very funny and will keep your attention, however, the material in this class is difficult and did not interest me. He talks extremly fast and I ended up missing key points. Tests are hard and for the most part straight from his lectures.
He is a good teacher and makes class as interesting as the subject matter can be. He enjoys making the tests rediculously difficult so if you miss even the smallest things during the lecture it is impossible to get an A. Overall a great teacher to take if you have an interest in the subject matter.
Wasn't crazy about class or professor at first, but I came around. Really cares about students and how much they really learn. Fun guy. Subject matter not the easiest, but he is very helpful. Tests require effort, but they are fair and he helps prepare. Recommend this professor hands down!
He is really awesome! His grading is fair and if you ever have a question, he is always available to help you out. His projects are fun and his class environment is very interactive. He is also just a really funny and nice person! I highly recommend taking his class if you can!
Class material was very hard with lots of details to memorize. Very nice guy but he talks too fast and doesn't repeat himself so its easy to miss whats on the test. GO TO EVERY CLASS. Majority of the test is from the lecture (share a book you don't really need it). Take Biopsych before this class.
Good class, mostly for learning community purposes. He is very knowledgable in Psychology, and is pretty nice.

Had him for a year. 1st semester there was a lot less papers. Exams are difficult but he tries to prepare you for them. Dont need to read the book unless for claification. Friday lab times suck so I didnt got 1st semester but 2nd semester you really need to. Overall I would say he was pretty good.
Always helpful and friendly. Talks fast, but knows it so he answers any questions and repeats himself if needed. Takes his teaching seriously. Finds new ways to relate the material to you to make it more understandable. Good stories. Funny. Good class if you study.
He is very fair and tries to make the class interesting. There's no attendance policy, but if you don't go it's easy to get really behind.
I would def say take Andre.. he is SUCH a nice guy and truly loves teaching and cares about his students... You need to go to EVERY single class not to get behind b/c u learn soo much each period..tests are from notes, and h/w and lab quizzes boost ur grade.. TAKE HIM!
Dr. Andre takes a class that can be very confusing and uses easy-to-understand examples to help you make sense of it. His study guides are always indicative of what will be on the test. Since you have to take 210 to be a psych. major, try to take it with Dr. Andre so that you can understand everything.
Funny, helpful. You really can't miss one of his classes or else you feel so far behind!
Dr.Andre is the best professor I've had so far at JMU. He turned what would normally be a boring statistics class into a fun learning experience. He's so good at explaining and is always available for help. Really wants his students to succeed. I would highly recommend.
Jeff is AWESOME!!! I hate statistics...like many other people, but he makes stats very understandable. He wants us to learn the logic of the material so he doesn't fuss over equations too much. His tests are to the point and very fair, if you study you will do very well. No attendance but I recommend going to class as much as possible.
This is the class that made me drop my psychology major. The teacher is a nice guy, I just hated the material. If you hate statistics: Beware that psychology is filled with them and maybe you should consider another major.
Tough class, but since it's required to get into the psych department, he makes it worthwhile. And what would normally be difficult, he attempts to make it easier to understand.
You have to study class notes and use the book to clarify info in detail. Very clear lectures and helpful.
Jeff is awesome. Mandatory class for all psych majors, but if you take him you'll be sure to understand the information. He really cares about the students and will help you any way he can. Tests are manegable. One big project due. Overall, a pretty good class and an excellent teacher.
Nice guy. Class was just an elective and they made it wayy too difficult. This class was like boot camp and should not be as hard as it was. A combination of their lack of ability to teach and the dullness of class makes for a miserable semester.
BY FAR the best professor to take for PSYC 210. The class itself is hard, but Jeff tries his best to make it easy for his students...He truly loves his job and loves teaching...4 tests, a couple of homeworks, and lab quizzes. If you must take 210 as a psych major, TAKE HIM! and GO TO CLASS!!!!
Jeff is great at what he does. He knows exactly how to get the point across and genuinely wants you to learn. Not boring, keeps you intrigued. Attendance isn't mandatory but pretty necessary, semi hard class but he knows what hes doing. I want to take his classes again!
Great class! I learned a lot about the different areas of psychology. Dr. Andre is still to this day a great influence on my life and has helped me figure out what I want to do.
Jeff is a great teacher. He always makes sure you understand what he is going over. He always answers questions. He describes everything is a way that you can understand and he is very fair. His tests are challenging but if you go to class and study its not to bad.
Great professor. Keeps you interested in the subject and explains material very well. Go to class and take good notes. This goes for all classes. All around good guy and wants to help you.
This was my first class with Jeff & he is teamed up with Kenn. From what I can tell he is very helpful and open. I plan to take more classes with him. This was a topics class, we have a journal once a week, no tests. Attendance is encouraged but you are never penalized if you miss. PLC!!
nice.
Okay, Jeff is a pretty decent teacher. He co teaches the class with Michael Hall, who is awesome. But Jeff is SO pompous! You can just tell the guy is so into himself it's ridiculous. Despite the fact he was a decent teacher, I won't take him again just because of his attitude about himself.
AWESOME professor. Definitely knows the material, great at keeping it on student level, tests are not difficult- SHORT answer, MC, and 1 essay, there are 3 critique papers which are easy but time consuming. As for his attitude, he is just outgoing/energetic/excited about teaching/demoing the material. TAKE HIM!
He co-teaches this class with Michael Hall. They are both really nice and want you to do well. Come to class, take good notes, and ask questions. Jeff is hilarious and Michael is the nicest!!
For such a boring subject, this class was one of my faves.
This is a fabulous professor. His examples and teaching style are really helpful. Gives you most tools necessary to master material. I struggled because it was a tough subject but because of him, ended up with a solid B. He's funny and wants everyone to learn. Doesn't make us memorize formulas, wants us to understand reasoning behind it all.
Professor Andre was a good teacher. Majority of your grade is comprised of four tests. (That includes the final.) There are a few assignments here and there. This class is co-taught with Michael Hall.. who I did NOT enjoy. But Andre was great, personable, and helpful. Not a bad gen ed to take.
He made a topic that was difficult for me seem completely easy. Great guy! Take his classes!
I've never done a review for a teacher but Jeff was so awesome I had to. I took stats 220 and got a C- and as of right now I have an A- in Jeff's class. He's literally AWESOME and knows how to teach stats in a way that you will understand, if not he explains it differently for you. Take it, bc you will need this for the rest of your time in psych
Jeff is the absolute man. Psych statistics is not a particularly interesting class, but Jeff does an incredible job. His lectures are crystal clear and give you all of the information needed, no book necessary. He is funny, kind, and refreshing. If you can take him, absolutely do it.
Jeff is a great professor. Of course Psyc Stats is dry, but Jeff tries his best and makes this 4-credit class a cakewalk. Clearly sets expectations, rarely used book, assigned only a few homework assignments throughout the semester.
Jeff is awesome! He is funny and personable. Vision is a hard topic but he makes it easy to understand and gives a lot of examples. If you are struggling, go to his office hours, he is so nice!! He's very smart and can be cocky at times but you learn to live with it. Loved him, hated Mike.
Jeff is a great teacher. He is funny and explains things really well! Take him!!
Jeff was a great guy, very energetic, loved the material and it showed. However he talked so fast it was hard to keep up with the insane amount of info every class. He wont put the powerpoints online which sucks and his lectures focus on big picture while his tests are the smallest aspects of his lecture. go to EVERY class and pay CLOSE attention!!
I failed his class, but that was my fault. Had I just put aside my pride and gotten help when I needed it, I would have passed. I say this because he really cares about you - the student. He is a good man. He knows a lot about the subject and do all he can to get through to you, in class or in his office. He is a guy you need in a tough subject.
Be ready for Homeworks, they'll sneak up on you and there's only 5 of them and they're weighted pretty heavy because he goes off Total Points. Also, there aren't many tests and same with the homeworks they're weighted kind of heavily and I think the total number of points for the class is 200, which doesn't give much room for mistakes.
Jeff was probably one of my favorite professors yet. He's such an awesome guy. He makes lectures interesting and is very clear and helpful. I would definitely take him again.
Class is hard, but if you put the effort in to study, do practice problems, etc you'll do fine. I figured it'd be like a stats class test wise where there would only be stat problems, but it's not, he asks for definitions on his test too. He moves fast & doesn't do practice problems in class, so you have to do work out of class to pass for sure!
This class requires a lot of studying and is not an easy A. However, Dr. Andre does a great job explaining concepts and really wants you to do well. The tests are all application based questions and some definitions but they definitely are not easy. As long as you study and keep up with the class it isn't too bad.
Dr. Andre is a terrific teacher. He makes the fascinating technical subject of the psychology of vision comprehensible for us ignorant students. Only 3 tests, 6 home works, and 6 Extra Credit quizzes. Take Andre if you can--he makes hard subjects easy!
Jeff is my favorite professor! Jeff is pretty funny and will definitely keep you awake, even though it's 8am. 4 tests including the final, they are not cumulative. He makes the information clear and can explain the material in different ways until you understand. He is caring and fair. He wants everyone to succeed, take him if you can!
I love Jeff so much. He is so down to earth and a wonderful professor. If you go to him he will help you with anything. His tests are open ended which makes it hard but he literally goes over every little thing in class and if you pay attention you'll do great. I would take him again!!
His lectures are great and they actually help you learn the material. He's interesting and funny and he is very willing to help. The tests aren't too hard but they are not an easy A either. Otherwise super amazing professor and I would highly recommend.
Jeff is one of my favorite professors I've ever had! If you ever get the chance to take this short course on vision and driving DO IT! Super fun and really interesting. Will definitely be searching to take other courses taught my Jeff, loved it!
Jeff is a very solid choice. 210 is not an easy class, but Jeff truly wants all of his students to succeed. If you don't understand something in class he will work with you in office hours until you get it. 4 exams almost all free response with a non cumulative final. He will not hand you a grade, you have to work for it but hes very fair.
Jeff was a great prof. for 210! He made getting up for an 8 AM bearable. Very easy going guy, just put in a normal amount of effort and study for the exams and you'll be fine!
take jeff for 210. it is a hard class and he doesnt throw an A at you but if you work hard and go to his office he will make sure you understand the material. he is super helpful. 7 homeworks through the semester and the lab portion is an easy A. he gives 4 tests and no cumulative final. love jeff
he's a good prof, explains things well. not as overly eager to help as other profs, but not entirely uncaring. if you have a choice, don't take psych 122. very hard, confusing, have to memorize a bunch of science stuff. 3 tests and 5 hw assignments. no attendance policy but you have to go for the info cause readings don't have everything
I have had Jeff a few times and he is an amazing professor, however if you struggle with sciences and math his style is probably not for you. You have to work really hard in his course and be actively involved. The textbook might as well be written in latin, but quizzes are simple though. Not an easy A, maybe an easy B-?
Jeff is amazing, take him if you can! Math has never been my strong suit, but Jeff made this corse more focused on what things are/when to use them instead of just calculations which I loved! He responds quickly to questions you email him and his passion really shows when he teaches. He rounds your grade up if you're on the edge of 2 grades also!
I hate math but did well in this class. Prof Andre is very kind and accessible and covers the material well so that you understand it. I highly suggest this teacher but make sure you go to class so you understand the material well!!
Jeff is probably my favorite professor that I've had at JMU. That being said, his class is really challenging if you're not particularly science-friendly (like me), but if you study hard and do well on the critiques you'll be fine! 4 exams including the final, 3 critiques and an extra credit critique at the end. Would definitely recommend!!
A very "is what it is" type of person, once something is taken/done, the only way to improve is to do better next time. He's not accommodating in times of need. However, he is a GOOD professor. If you learn well through hand-written notes and practice ON YOUR OWN, he's your dude. He's not easy and you will get the grade you earn for the most part.
Jeff is a good professor, and the material itself - at least the way he teaches it - is really not all THAT hard. 4 exams and 3 research article critiques, he sometimes comes off as annoyed or very short but he answers any questions and explains things fairly well in class. Not too hard to get an A or a B, would take again.
I really enjoyed Professor Andre for 210. His tests are fair. If you study, you should do well. The lab was somewhat difficult and I highly suggest studying for the lab quizzes. Overall, the class wasn't as bad as I expected. Jeff is a fun person to be around. I highly recommend!
Very good professor. I found the class itself difficult, but he was very clear in the way he explained things. He doesn't put his lectures on Canvas, so I strongly recommend attending every class. Even though he isn't on campus every day, you can still email him questions, which he responds to the same day. He also gives lots of partial credit.
Jeff is a great person and gives interesting lectures, however exams are extremely hard. Every class is a huge lecture with maybe half of the material lectured on being on the exam (no matter how well of notes you take, the multiple choice questions are ridiculously hard). There are only four exams and three papers to make up your entire grade.
LOVED ANDRE. He's interesting, makes the material applicable to real life, and overall the material is very interesting! I never bought the text book and did just fine on just lecture notes and supplemental materials. I loved this class and Andre as a human being! You definitely have to study for tests, but it was no biggie.
Prof Andre is one of my favorite professors. His lectures are really interesting & he likes to throw in examples & stories. It's the only 8am that I've ever been able to go and pay attention to. If you skip lectures, you're definitely not going to pass. His exams are tough as they're mostly open ended, but he gives lots of partial credit.
His lectures are very interesting. He is able to give relatable examples of the subject material. The grade consists of 3 critiques and some exams. They aren't too difficult as long as you study and pay attention. He is willing to answer questions in class and is helpful.
absolutely love prof. andre for psyc 210. Stats isnt an easy subject as it is but he explains everything he expects you to know along w/ a study guide that has all the terms/ equations you need to know beforehand. Attendance is not mandatory but DO NOT SKIP, you can mess up a full exam by just missing one class. take him for psyc 210!!
Took during a one week summer session (online because of pandemic) and Dr. Andre is an all around solid choice. He made his Vision and Driving course so interesting (especially when he discusses his other fields of work) and painless. 3 simple assignments and one 25 exam (not bad but go back over his lectures THOROUGHLY) Take him. You'll do fine.
Jeff really cares about his students. I am pretty good at math, so I didn't struggle. He uploaded lecture videos to watch before class. Those helped me way more than going to class did. The labs were pretty pointless. There is usually a quiz every week. That is where all of the grades come from. Overall, I enjoyed this class. TAKE HIM!
He posted his lectures prior to the zoom meeting so I just took notes from that, logged into the zoom for attendance and then took the quiz at the end of the week. You have to put in the effort to pass this class but it is not hard if you already have an understanding of stat. I never went to the labs because I already knew how to use SPSS.
He is an okay professor. He explains things in a weird way. This class was not easy at all and I really worked for every grade I got. I watched all the lectures at least twice, did every practice problem I could, and went to the optional classes for extra help. I do not recommend him if you have not taken a Stats class before. Challenging class!!!!
Prof Andre is very knowledgable and willing to help you if you're lost. 210 is a tough course if you aren't great at stats, but this prof tries to make it easier. Light workload: weekly lecture that you watch prior to class, weekly quizzes, and 7 homework's throughout the semester. No exams in this class so no final or midterm! Take this class!
LOVE jeff! He makes the material super interesting (and I'm not really interested in this content) and gives lectures that make you feel involved. He is accessible if you have any questions and is clear on his grading throughout the semester. Mostly quiz grades but they are fine if you go to class and take good notes. Critiques are not hard.
Andre means well, he really does but if stats isn't your thing... maybe not the teacher for you. Exams (4x) the averages were all below 70% doesn't curve and all of them are wayyyy to hard. nice guy but class is brutal
I'm in Andre's 210 right now and I think he is a great professor. For an 8:00 am class and someone who is not a morning person like me, he has the energy to make statistics lectures tolerable. You have to work for your grade; I've maintained an A since I'm a decent test taker, but averages are 65-75 normally. He knows his stuff and he's also funny!
Jeff is truly a great professor, he makes his 8ams worth it. He cares about his students and for a professor that has to commute 2 hours to work every morning I'm shocked he lectures so well.
Very funny and enthusiastic! Wish there were more grades because the material can be very complex and his tests require a lot. You study as much as you can and there will be things on there you never talked about. Textbook is also very complicated. Not much room to fail an assignment. Four tests and three critiques.
Andre is a really good professor and clearly knows his stuff. The material he teaches the class is interesting at times. His exams are basically pure memorization, but are super easy if you've studied. GO to his lectures even though attendance is not mandatory. It is literally everything on the exam.
Jeff knows his stuff but he can be hard to understand and talks fast. If you suck at stats (like me) he may not be the best teacher. For a math lover, he would be pretty good. Do not miss a lecture or get behind he doesn't post his notes and he will move quickly. No cumulative final but you NEED to know your stuff because it builds on each other!!
I think that he is an okay professor, but honestly don't understand how people love him so much. I did fine in his class, but would never take it again. He explains the material poorly, and you rarely have any grades. The last two exams are the easiest because people don't do well on the first two. Just be prepared to study..
Extremely content heavy, shoves everything he possibly can into every lecture and then tests every tiny fact out of you. Willing to answer any questions you have. If memorization doesn't come easy to you, I'd avoid.
Knows his stuff but is a terrible teacher, everything is extremely content heavy. Tests are so hard and do not relate to the lecture outlines that he gives.
Jeff is very knowledgeable, interesting, and understanding professor. His class requires hard work, but if you go to class and work to understand the material (highly recommend seeking his help if needed), you will do well in this class and likely have fun doing it.
Jeff really knows and loves the material he teaches. Unfortunately he is not great at teaching it as he talks extremely fast and tries to fit so much content in each lecture. The tests are so hard and are basically all memorization. If you're not willing to put every ounce of effort into this class don't take him.
If you're looking to fulfill your lab requirement, def take ISCI-104 w/Jeff. I had him for PSYC210 as well, and he remains as one of my favorite professors. If you pay attention to his lectures & take good notes, he is very consistent and makes information easy to understand. I did very well in both classes and I would highly recommend him.
Great Professor; super fun and energetic even at 8am. Sometimes he isn't the clearest but if you email him after class he will explain it in great detail for you. Definitely worth the 8am!
Jeff is a pretty good professor I wouldn't say amazing. His lectures are pretty heavy but he has good examples and explains things well (most of the time). The homework is easy and the lab potion is easy so those grades help your overall grade but the tests are pretty hard you really have to spend time studying and looking over the material.
You can tell Jeff is very caring and wants everyone to understand the material. Tests are difficult so my advice is to study and read and you'll do fine. I would recommend going to office hours and do all the work. Homeworks and Lab Quizzes help your grade in the long run so do well on them!!
Jeff is a really good professor and can really keep you engaged during class even though I took his 8 am. He gives good examples and practice questions. Tests are HARD and you will need to put in a lot of time to study to do well on them. Labs can boost your grade as well. I highly recommend going to every class. Really funny and nice guy!
Very enthusiastic about the course and clearly knows the material well. He is entertaining and the class content is interesting. The lectures are heavy and you do need to go to class and pay attention. There are only a few grades but I found it slightly easier than I expected. I really enjoyed the course!
I took this class as a 1 week winter session. 9 lecture videos about 4 hours total. 2 easy assignments that were quick, and a 25 question final on the last day. Overall, a very manageable course and I definitely recommend. Jeff created this course himself, and he really cares about his students. I would definitely take one of his classes again.
Jeff's a great professor, he's very knowledgeable and conveys information well. If there is confusion he is happy to offer up other examples. He is very approachable and happy to help. He asks for confusing points after every lecture and goes over those points again at the beginning of the next lecture. Tests can be hard but are always fair
Difficult class but Jeff is nice and really cares. He really gets my day going at 8am in lecture. Attendance not mandatory but recommended because he doesn't post notes, so take GOOD notes! Labs are easy but tests are HARD but fair. I study pretty hard and still do not do great, so study hard for tests and start studying several weeks in advance!
Dr Andre was an amazing and knowledgable professor. Four exams (including non-cumulative final) and 3 article critiques that make up your grade. Tests are multiple choice, short answer, and essay, but he is very fair with the exams and tries to give you points where he can. His lectures are amazing and he can answer just about any question asked!
Prof Andre has great experience with the course and makes the learning process as easy as possible for his students. The tests are pretty difficult but as long as you go to class it is easy to prepare.
This class is difficult and the tests are hard but if you put the effort in by going to class and studying you'll be fine. Jeff is great at teaching/explaining things. He made stats so easy to understand and wants students to succeed. He gives you all the material you need to know in class and on the handouts. Definitely take him for 210.
I didn't expect to love this class but I absolutely did. The class is not easy and graded by a few things (exams and critiques). However, Jeff gives great lectures and explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand, even for people like me who do not do well with biology. I definitely recommend, but be prepared to study
attendance is not mandatory however you have to go to class and pay attention. except he speaks really fast and rambles and doesn't always repeat things so its hard to always get the notes. exams are pretty straight forward if you study, however the content is A LOT and he doesn't always explain things well/ easy for students to understand
Especially if you learn well in the traditional lecture --> homework --> test "style", Jeff is a great professor. For 210 specifically, he comes from a background of not understanding statistics for a while, so he is able to explain concepts in a very practical way. That is, if you show up; the lectures are a heavy lift, but will teach you well.
Jeff was one the best professors I have had @ JMU. He relates to the students and understands that we have lives too. His lectures are actually very entertaining because he teaches like he's an actual human being, not a robot. Exams are tough but if you study, you will be fine.
Do not believe a single good review about him, he brags about failing students. I'm an A student and could NOT get over a C- on his exams. The multiple choice are all trick questions on concepts you discussed once and exams determine your entire grade. He provides no feedback on open-ended and he was even mad when the class average was over a 75!
Jeff is a very funny professor, and (I never thought I'd say this) makes statistics relatively enjoyable. He teaches well, was more than funny enough to make an early morning class bearable, and grades very fairly.
The HW given was graded really hard as well as the test given. You need to study really hard and attend all the lectures in order to pass. There was no extra credit and no redos on any assignment. Honestly, difficult to understand the material and follow along with the lectures.
This class can be difficult content but Jeff is great. If you go to lecture, study, and engage w the material you can do really well. I had Jeff for psych 210 and 375 and would take him again. He is great, but again you have to pay attention in class to do well on the exams and critiques because these are your only grades. Highly recommend!
I like Jeff as a person, but this class is very hard if you are not a good test taker. There are 4 exams and 2 critiques so you need to do well on everything. Tests are hard and you need to put A LOT of time into studying and write down everything he says. I wish there were more assignments so people who have test anxiety can bring their grade up.
Jeff is one of my favorite professors at JMU. He is an amazing teacher and an overall funny person. His class is easy to study for, he's open to questions and will help you whenever you're confused so don't hesitate to ask questions. Also showing up to every class is the equivalent of a 100 test grade so show up :)
He's a fair professor but if you take this class PLEASE do the extra credit critique, exams are worth 40 points so even getting a few points off can tank your grade. Textbook wasn't used too heavily. Attendance isn't mandatory but you have to attend to do well. Pay very close attention. Jeff is a great guy.
Although I did not pass his class, which is partially my fault, I found it very hard to understand the lectures. He does try to make class entertaining and encourage students to attend office hours, but does not post slideshows or anything of value on canvas. Must attend lectures (morning class sucks) and his exams are super difficult so be study!!
The worst. Really one of the worst. Impossible and difficult exams. The worst I'd rate him worse if possible. The worst. I do no like. Horrible.
Jeff is a great professor & is passionate about the topics. He always adds humor into his lectures to keep them interesting. Although there were a couple of other assignments, exams will make or break you in the course. He gives a study guide for what will be on them so if you show up to lectures & take good notes, this class is easy.
Super nice guy, made 8am lectures somewhat interesting and enjoyable. Attendance wasn't mandatory but he had lecture reflections at the end of every class that counted as credit at the end of the semester. Tests are EXTREMELY difficult and all over the place, so study a whole bunch and you'll probably be okay.
Grade is made up of 4 exams (with no cumulative final) and 2 article critiques. Tests are hard, so study material continuously throughout the unit. You probably don't need the textbook, but it definitely helps supplement the lectures. Take extensive notes during lectures, and you'll be fine. Ask questions if you're confused, he's happy to help!
Professor Andre makes stats enjoyable with his relatable lectures and fair grading. Attending class is key, but with the help of unstuck AI and the free textbook, passing this course is doable despite the challenging exams.
A good professor, who just runs a hard course. Attendance isn't 100% mandatory, but you will lose like 10% for not showing up, and every day matters, it moves fast!
Graded by 6 exams (including a final) and 2 article critiques. Dr. Andre was super nice and I enjoyed being in class, but if you aren't great with biology/science don't take it. I suck at bio which is why I didn't do great, but if you excel in that you'll be fine. Def a great professor though!
Jeff is a great guy and has the most manageable 8am class I've ever taken. Class moves fast, so try not to miss it. Tests are hard and he is a tough grader, but he sets you up for success and is really helpful if you have any issues.
hes currently under fire here for having so many students fail. j think about that.
He consistently fails to cover essential material before exams, leaving students unprepared and scrambling to learn key concepts on their own. This lack of planning and disregard for student success is unacceptable. What's more concerning is the absence of empathy or support for students who are clearly struggling.
Jeff is an extremely knowledgeable professor and makes sure students have an understanding of the material. The exams are difficult, but it is possible to do well if you study, do the homework, and print out the handouts. Even though the class was challenging, Jeff is available to help you out if you need it.
His lectures are really good. S&P is a hard course, but he explains things very well. You're going to want to read the textbook because some of the test questions are from that.
Most of your grade comes from 6 exams. A lot of exams (abt ever 2.5 weeks), but less information covered within each Attendance is not required but it is important if you want to succeed because your notes will be a study guide. That being said, make sure to pay attention and take notes. I enjoyed his lectured, and felt like I learned a lot.
