Really Hard

I had him for Calc & Stats and he's always willing to help students.

any math class, hes a good one
Hard grader, but fair and reasonable. Tests are long.
Most useless teacher in the math department. He always is teaching with his head in the stratosphere and gets the chalk dust all over himself like he is eating it. He needs better clothes too.
I thought he was a very good teacher. He explains things in ways that I am able to understand!
He's the most boring teacher you will ever have, very helpful, but not at all a good teacher. I'm really good at math and I'm getting a C right now.
Best professor for this particular class. Knows what he's talkin about and can answer any questions. He is also very challenging. To the person above, every math teacher gets chaulked up.
He was a very good teacher, the class was a breeze!! I wish Madison had a math teacher like him.
excellent teacher! to a previous post: sounds like someone's not quite as good at math as they thought huh?! and, "he needs better clothes", seriously, what kind of comment is that? deal with your own intellectual problems, it's not t
I think Dr. Baggett is awesome. He wants his students to do well. He his very good at clarifying problems and doesn't just give tests as your only grade. We have a small quiz every week (drops lowest 3) and web quizzes worth 5 points (easy points).
He is a horrible professor. He does not understand that his class is not the only class that we have and he is a jerk. All around very poor professor both socially and educationally.
Awesome guy, very fun in class, made statistics fun and as easy as you can get with stats. to understand. Liked coming to class because of his amiability and he is sooo cute!! Best math teacher I've had.
Excellent professor. Understands the material better than most professors I've had. His tests do tend to go a bit longer than he anticipates, though.
Professor Baggett Rules!!!!!
Uncle Baggie is the best teacher I have had at UWL. Prepare to work hard in his class, but he will help you out anytime, anywhere. And the chalk all over his hands, coffee, clothes and mouth is hilarious.
Knows what he is talking about. Tests are really hard though. Stuff on tests seems to never be stuff that we covered in class. Is very helpful if you need help.
yeaaaaaaayyyyy
Had him for more that one class, enjoyed him as a person and a teacher. Very willing to help and very fair with partial credit. Likes to joke around so bring your sense of humor to class and his office hours, helps if you can laugh at yourself!
Not my favorite - started out the year nice and friendly, but watch out for those mood swings. plus, his tests are really hard.
His tests are really hard. I think if we didnt cram so much stuff in all at once it might be easier. And if he lets us use those sheets he hands out. He'd be alright if someone taught him how to say "measurements" :)
He is a good teacher. His tests are a little difficult. He gives lots of examples and knows how to explain statistics well. He is nerdy but a cool guy.
You're stereotypical math nerd! Enteraining, friendly, helpful, and extremely clear. Do the homework and you're golden.

Baggett is awesome. He makes a difficult class enjoyable. Allows plenty of time for exams. Tests are difficult yet fair. Do the homework and ask questions and you'll do fine. Very fun!
Stats is tough, but if you are willing to put in some effort you'll get a good grade. He is clear, helpful, and he is fun to talk to. Take him.
Kinda bonk, Tests were hard and nearlly impossable to finish in the time allowed. allows a note kard so that is kina nice.
great guy. kind of a goof, but teaches well so that you understand it. His tests are on the tough side but if you do the homework you will be fine.
Nobody wants to take Stats. I didn't either. However, if you have to take it, go with Baggett. He does a great job of explaining if you ask the questions. Also gives the opportunity for extra points which saved my butt. I hadn't taken a math class in forever, worked a full time job, and still did pretty good.
Awesome guy, but moves way to fast!!
I would recommend him. He always does a lot of examples for things and tries to make everything as clear as possible. Pretty funny guy too. Allows a note card for formulas which was really nice. Tests are hard, but just do the homework.
GREAT TEACHER. I love the class so much, he's funny, clear, and concerned with the students grasp of the material. Allows note cards for quizes, and entire formula sheets for all of the exams. I would absolutly recommend taking Dr. Bagget, stats isn't an easy course, but it's a whole lot better with him!
I just loved this class. He is awesome. Fair, clear and very helpful.
A great professor. He makes up his own words sometimes, but makes things much easier than I've heard other professors do. Exams and quizes can be difficult, but you can use a cheat sheet on both of them.
I failed the class but he gave me a D because he saw I tried, so I guess he's an okay guy.
great prof. gives formula sheets & goes over problems in class if you have any questions. tests are a little hard and can be kind of long, but not impossible. i never did anything but the hw & i got at least a b on all of them. all in all a great guy.
Very helpful, made sure you got the material. Class wasnt completly easy, but Mr Bagget made it much easier.
Baggett is a fantastic prof, and he gives TONS of time for quizzes and tests, and tries VERY hard to get everyone to learn the material. Calc is not an easy class in the slightest. Many quizzes, many tests. Stay on top of the homework!! Also, he gives answers to homework online, and obviously knows what he's talking about when he answers questions.
it was ok
He's a great guy and down to earth teacher. His assignments can be difficult, but he's a very fair grader and listens to students.
Was like a dad. Good listener, joked around, was funny
lecture can be boring at times, but he's a fun guy. just make sure you know how to do all the problems and you should be fine on exams
Do not that stats with him. He is the worst teacher I had. He thinks he is funny when he isnt and allows too much time for people to asks questions so the people who do understand the material end up not paying attention and miss stuff. Also don't miss his class I missed 2 classes and he emailed me saying I missed too much class. ANNOYING!
Was very helpful and a FAIR GRADER, which is a necesary quality in any math teacher. You pretty much get the grade you put the work for, and if you go into his office and go to class(let him know youre trying) you'll pass w/o a doubt. One of the better profs I've had!
I stink at math and I didn't do so hot in class but he was soooooo helpful.
he was a pretty good teacher...very helpful always answered questions, had a quiz every week that was fairly easy if u show up for class and do homework..so that really helps your grade....he also prints note for u which makes it so much easier
Do not take for calc 3. He has no idea how to teach it, so I would recommend taking him if you enjoy teaching yourself. In the beginning of the semester he seems friendly, but the mood swings start soon enough. Has a poor teaching style and personality.
He is a really helpful teacher! His tests are fairly difficult but overall I would definitely recommend him! He is very helpful and likes when you ask questions. He is a pretty funny guy. Overall good class and teacher!
Seriously, after taking stats for my second time, i see how extremely much better of a teacher Baggett is than the one I previously had. He is extemely clear with examples, and is a fair grader, and very helpful. I'm not good at math at all but his teaching style helped me understand it.
He doesn't take attendance, but go every day to class! Also, make sure you do the homework. It doesn't take that long. If you fall behind, it's hard to catch up. I really liked him as a teacher and would recommend him to anyone taking stats/math145!
very easy going and flexible
I think Dr. Baggett genuinely cares about his students and does everything he can to ensure we understand stuff. However, he can go through new material quite fast, and has a hard time explaining some things. He lets you use a sheet of paper with equations on it for quizzes/test which is awesome.
He is sometimes scatterbrained and takes a while to explain things but he is an awesome guy. Very funny and easy going. Class is very relaxed. His tests are reasonable. Lots of quizzes and tests though.
Funny and quirky guy. Doesnt go through too much information too quickly. There are quizzes once a week that aren't too difficult (and a lot of them are partner). 4 tests and a final (you get to make a note sheet). Tests can be tricky but doable if you understood the homework. Overall I would recommend!
Dr. Baggett is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He was extremely clear in presenting the material. He was extremely helpful and made doing statistics fun. He was very clear in what he expected of you on exams and quizzes. There were no surprises. As long as you do the homework, you will do great!
Awesome professor. Helpful, clear, and doesn't go through material too fast. I was nervous for stats, but he made it fun and interesting
Dr. B is a good guy, he definitely knows his stuff. He takes his time teaching the material and makes sure everyone has a handle on it. He also gives partner quizzes when he gets lazy with grading.
Out of the four tests I took (including final) the highest grade I got was a 72 and I still managed to get a C in his class. Not only was I horrible at stats, but I had test anxiety up the yahoo. Dr. B. understood and helped me out tremendously! He lets you to use front/back sheet of paper of notes for every quiz and two pgs for the final.
He was a very funny and easy-going teacher. I usually struggle with math, but he made it moderately easy. You must do homework and study for him. He doesn't give any free points or use many in-class examples on quizzes and exams.
Really knowledgeable and will always answer questions. Pay attention and you'll get a good grade.
He tends to teach rather quickly, but if you go to his office he'll clearly explain problems to you. I love his sense of humor! He's very encouraging and believes you'll be able to understand the material even if you get frustrated (which I often am). "Just breathe" he once told me. Hats off to Dr. B!
Absolutely loved Dr. B! Every single quiz we had was a group quiz, and tests are super easy too! One of my favorite professors here at UW-L. Definitely take him!
I was not looking forward to taking stats...But I really enjoyed taking class with Dr. Baggett. I actually kind of took a liking to stats??? I never would have imagined myself saying that last year. He's great at explaining things and he prints off notes and hands them out for us to follow along with. Tests are fair.
I really liked this class!! He's explains things very well and he loves it when you ask questions. Quizzes and tests aren't to hard. Every quiz we had was a group quiz. He has old tests and quizzes on d2l and reuses a lot of the same problems. I liked his sense of humor! I would take him again
Weekly quizzes were group quizzes, and the tests were moderately easy if you paid attention in class. You get to use a formula sheet for them, which is nice. Got the feeling that he was overqualified for the subject though; he flies through the notes (print-out) and often "forgets" to mention important hints. Overall, good guy.
I am typically very good at math, but stats is a whole different ball game. Dr. B was very condescending towards me, which was a huge turn off. Tests are quite hard. Final was impossible. Group quizzes are nice, and having a formula sheet for tests and quizzes is great! Only took him for the biology aspect of stats.
I was a little skeptical about taking this class because I have never had a very good teacher... My opinions about stats and math in general have completely changed after taking Baggett. He has a dorky sense of humor, but it really helps to get through an otherwise boring class. 3 exams, final, and weekly GROUP quizzes are very helpful! Take him!!
I took Dr. B for Bio-statistics. He is a very good teacher and the subject matter is easy to learn if you are semi-good at math. There is a group quiz every week and four exams total. If you are good at math you can easily not do homework assignments and still get an A. I would highly recommend taking him if you can.
Professor Baguette was overall just a good professor. The class was a breeze but he often made mistakes that were corrected by people in the class. He's funny and let the class out ten to fifteen minutes early almost every single class. Tests were hard if you didn't study but group quizzes helped your grade each week.
Very smart. Good at going over tough concepts more than once, and does plenty of practice problems. Can seem condescending at times, but only because he wants everyone to do well. 3 exams and a final, and group quizzes every week. Took him for Biology based stats.
Great professor, very good at explaining concepts and makes sure everyone in the class learns each concept. Understanding when it comes to quizzes, he made two of them take home after realizing they were very difficult. Very accessible outside of class and quick responses to questions. If you put in the work the class is easy.
Great teacher for this course. Was always cracking little jokes which made coming to class a lot of fun. Understanding about quizzes; drops two and if the whole class doesn't get done in time will make it a take home quiz. Gives you a lot of resources to prepare for quizzes/exams with past quizzes/exams on D2L. Wants you to succeed
I really liked Dr. Baggett. He gives you a note packet and you take your notes by filling it out as he does. Explains things well and loves questions. Drops your two lowest group and individual quizzes. Makes funny comments throughout class and makes it interesting to come to.
From talking to other people, he is by far the easiest teacher. All his tests were super easy and exactly what you expected them to be. Homework is optional and you have weekly group quizzes that are just as easy as the tests. Math does come easy to me to take what I say with a grain of salt, some did struggle but honestly you shouldn't if you try.
Calc 3 is tough but he makes the past classes tests available to study from which helps alot. Also has a couple of group quizzes and a take home if ur lucky .
Dr. B knows what he's doing. He is by far the best prof I have ever had the privilege of learning from! He is hilarious during lecture by making funny comments, and knows the material extremely well. He has absolutely no difficulty teaching very difficult content. He frequently allows group and take home quizzes, and drops 2 of the lowest scores.
I absolutely hate statistics, but Dr. B made this class manageable and even fun for me. I'm not a math person but he explains everything really well and his notes are easy to follow along with. He really wants his students to succeed and offers lots of practice problems and old tests to study.
Dr. Baggett was a great help and great professor. HIghly recommend.
There were two writing assignments that included coding which was irritating. Many of the resources he uses are not his own causing the expectations on homework to be different to what is covered in class. This can make completing the homework difficult. A practice exam is given prior to the real exam which is similar in style to the real one.
Dr B is extremely funny and caring, I think as a person he's one of the nicest people I've ever met. He grades pretty leniently and often does (at least for our class) group quizzes and/or will let you take them home if the whole class doesn't finish in time. He has practice exams for most exams and drinks a lot of coffee! (hates early lectures)
Dr. B is one of, if not the best professor I have had yet for a mathematics course in undergrad. He does a great job explaining everything and anything, and also is quite clear with what we should know and takeaway from each section. The class itself is hard, being that it is multivariate calculus. But taking with Dr. B makes it about 10x better.
The class was a difficult class, but he made the material manageable. I would definitely take him again.
