Jeff is awesome. His class is fun and engaging. The class easy and enjoyable. His personality makes him hot- i dont care what anyone else says. He is funny, quirky and sweet- and I can never wait to see what kind of crazy tie he will show up in!

Jeff is definitely one of the best teachers I've had. With anybody else, I think the material would be difficult to grasp, but he definitely makes the class enjoyable and easy.

This was the best math class that i took here. He makes it seem so easy and he makes you understand the material. Which is awesome. he is the man. He goes right out of the book which is kinda good because it clears up points of confusion. Awesome teacher and its hard to fail this class.

very easy class, good way to help your gpa. he so helpful that i missed a couple days during class because i was sick, and when the final came along i had no clue, he gave me a mini lesson so i had a chance.. guess what? i got a 98 on my final. he helped everyone and stayed after class for almost an hour one day answering questions. hes a great guy

He is a very easy teacher. As long as you do the study guide before the test, you'll be fine. Lots of extra credit. I have gone to class about 5 times and I'm still getting a good grade.

Jeff was a good teacher, he had many methods of teaching each section. The main reason people didnt like him is because they werent paying attention in class or didnt go. The tests are another story, there made by Doris Stockton, the woman who wrote the book, adn she really looks to screw whoever takes the tests

Jeff is one of the best teachers I have had at UMass. He is very into the subjects that he teaches. The homework is optional, and there are 2 quizzes, a midterm, a project, and a final. The project is simple, and so are the exams because he explains everything and tells you exactly what will be on the exam. This is the only class I enjoyed.

I LOVE JEFF...HE IS AWESOME...and he can be a little saucy at times...really nice and is willing to help u whenever he can...if u take his class go to the review sessions and take down all the notes it will help u alot!!!go over the problems he gives u in the back of the book!!

Gives lots and lots of extra credit just for showing up to class/discussion. Easy to get a good grade. Teaches the subject very well and knows his stuff. Weekly homework assignments. If you need help, he's more than willing to help you. Good guy. He's also a big Red Sox fan!

Jeff is truely a good guy- he really wants you to understand what is being taught. Quite a lot of homework, but good TA's are available to help out if you need! I would definitely recommend taking this class if you need to get your R2 gen ed out of the way, much better than calc haha! Jeff is the man!

Jeff is the man. Will answer any question with a straight face and tries to help his students. Also does hilarious examples dealing with chicken fingers. Chicken Fingers are delicious.

Awesome professor, teaches material clearly. Going to class gives you up to 4% extra credit on final grade and you only need like an 88 to get an A. Work load is pretty light for a math class great r1, r2 math class

Jeff is a great teacher. Tries his best to get kids interested. Class exercises are a pain in the ass, and the homeworks were really long but only once a week. Tests are EASY. TA was very useless but material was pretty basic to learn on your own. Really good teacher though, overall.

Easy class, got a 60 on one of the three exams and still ended with an A- so no sweat. Hes a good guy. Should go to class, paying attention optional but recommended.

If you go to class and do all the class exercises you get 4 points added to your final grade so its a pretty sweet deal.

Great professor! Make sure you do most of your homework and go to every class to get extra points towards your final grade. Go to the discussion section as well, as he will give you more points towards your homework grade, so you do not have to do all of your homework.

i SUCK at math, but ended up with an A. He's so so fair. Go to discussion, get points towards hw AND do hw problems with TA. Go to class, get bonus points added onto final grade. 3 exams and homework grade, 25% each. He really helps if you go to him AND it's an R1 & R2. Pretty sweet if you ask me

Professor Beaulieu takes a casual attitude towards math and makes the classroom a comfortable place to be. He gives plenty of opportunities for extra, i.e. going to class. The homework can be a handful but take your time and do wait til the last minute. This class fulfills R1 and R2, take this course.

though i was in math 100 and it was already super easy, having jeff made it all the better. his homework is easy (you can even skip a few), his tests were pretty easy and the class was very straightforward. he's enthusiastic and there if you have any issues-a really great professor

Okay, this guy is really nice and makes a lot of sense. This class is really easy if you show up and do the homework. However, when he misgrades a test and gives the whole class a heart-attack, it's not the best thing in the world.

This man is a teaching machine. From the moment class starts up to the final seconds, he'll be writing examples on the board. (If there's 10 seconds left in the class, there's a good chance that he'll start another example). He also explains things very clearly, often with hints of humor.

tests are not like the homework/class assignments at all. walking into the test you think you'll get a 100..but then you get an 80. take the class its real easy..but dont be suprised to do worse then you thought

Easy class

Class was easy. I knew a lot of people that had difficulty with it but that's because they had a bad attitude and didn't try. If you go to class and do your homework you should be all set. It's obvious that Jeff really wants to help kids learn. He was completely fair in the way he graded, not malicious at all. Definitely has a passion for teaching.

He is very good. His tests are a little hard than one might think. There 15 MC and 2 OR. Really study for the Open Response part because theres a lot of extra points you can get and also easy to loose points. Im a C student and I got C's on both of my tests. I wished I studied more.I recommend him however.HW is online and usually harder than tests.

This class was alright. It was not a hard class, material was pretty easy if you have any sort of math skills. Lectures are useful but boring. Doesnt take attendance but class is easier if you go. There are 2-4 homework assignments all due on one night. 2 tests, 1 final. Boring, pretty easy but overall decent class

not a hard class if you've taken math before. 2 exams and a final. mymathlab hw it more difficult than the exams but you get three attempts on every problem and they're all due the day of the exam. dont but the book because you can see it for free on MML. TAs are pretty helpful as well but discussions not mandatory.

I love Jeff! The class is all about relearning elementary school math and going really in depth. If you pay attention and stay on top of things you'll be fine. And for an added bonus, it counts as an R1 AND an R2! It can't get better than that.

Jeff is really helpful and a great professor. He makes the course material very easy to understand. All of his homework is online and is due on the day of his exams, so you get about a month to complete them. His exams are also all multiple choice. He's definitely the best professor I had this semester.

He's a good teacher and explains things thoroughly. The thing I like most is how organized the grading is. There's 3 tests each worth 25% of the final grade and the other 25% are online homework assignments. If you go to class, there is a class exercise every day where as long as you try you can get between 1 and 3 points added to your final grade.

He's a funny guy and helps his students to do well in his class. He gets kind of mad when students leave his class early, so if you want to, try to not be disrespectful. There's ext a credit assignments during class and the tests are pretty similar to the homework. Clear cut, but I highly suggest starting the homework earlier than the night before.

He is really nit picky with the exams , student need to be really specific in order to receive full points for each questions. There's not much leg room to bring up your grades if you miss an assignment or do bad on a test.

Loved Jeff! His lectures were very clear, giving you step by step instructions and explaining what the purpose behind everything instead of just having you memorize formulas. He gives extra credit in the form of class exercises. Just go to class and put an effort in on them and you could get up to three points added to your final grade AVERAGE.

There is a question of the day that you pass in, but it doesn't matter is you answer correct or not and it'll give you extra points on your final grade.

Jeff does his best to streamline the students' learning processes by explaining the concepts very thoroughly. Since the course doesn't even go in to Calculus, its an easy A for anyone with experience in Calc or above.

Best math professor I have ever had. Extremely clear in everything he explains, and understands math can be a difficult subject. I cannot emphasis enough how straightforward and clear he is; gives easily understandable examples. The final is mostly questions for the other tests, which are all multiple choice.

I never write reviews for professors but after Jeff's class I literally felt OBLIGATED to. class is not mandatory but i would advise you to go because he gives out extra credit. studying outside of class isn't something you have to do as long as you listen in class. He explains everything so well, i understood everything the first time he showed us

Jeff is a fantastic professor and genuinely kind person. Explains concepts in a practical way, elaborating on the function and meaning of processes rather than just demonstrating the method. Grading scale is forgiving, 89.5+ is a 4.0. Highly recommend taking his class.

Lecture/discussion exercises add up to extra credit at end of semester. Final is cumulative, but easy as long as you review first two tests.

Jeff is awesome. Math121 is a really easy class, and he gives bonus points if you just show up to the lectures and do the class exercises. He's a very friendly, funny guy who actually knows how to teach, rather than just knowing the subject. Nothing is online, so you have to go for the notes, but you don't have to go to discussions.

I took Math 104 with Jeff, and his teaching style made everything easy to understand. His tests were for the most part fair and straightforward, and I would highly recommend taking his course.

Jeff makes the big lecture feel like a small class and he always relates the material to Business or Psychology, so it's not boring. The tests are straight-forward.

Took this as a freshman, 3 exams make up 60%, 20% homework, and 20% final. Extra credit is given for just going to class and the discussions. Good teacher, easy notes, easy homework. One homework per week takes less than an hour. Taught us well, and the math you learn is actually useful, unlike calc. Def take this.

Jeff is a really great professor. I had him for a year of precalc. His motto is truly just show up, do your work, and you'll pass with flying colors. He is a great teacher and each class has one class exercise that if you attempt you'll get extra credit for at the end of the semester. His exams are only 25 questions but they're easy. Take Jeff!!!

Jeff is the best professor I've ever had, period. I took Math101, Math102, and Math121 with him, and he is incredibly caring and takes the time to explain everything to the class. Attendance is not mandatory, but definitely go or else you won't understand the subject, and you do in class exercises which equal a max of extra 5 points.

The only attendence check is for extra credit and all his lectures are recorded and easily accessed online so there is no reason to go.

Great guy

I took Math 121 with Jeff, Hes is an amazing Professor. Great, coherent lectures and they corresponded with his exams. We had 4 exams all worth 20% of our grade and 20% that was covered for homework there was also extra credit opportunities. Overall a great professor and a great course.

I had Math 101 and 102 with Jeff. He moves slowly through lectures to the point where it may seem unnecessary, but that's because he truly wants to make sure everyone has a good grasp of the content. he is very understanding and allowed me to access the ebook for free when I was struggling financially. He really wants to see his students succeed.

The class consists of him lecturing and doing work on paper being projected onto a screen the whole class can see. It is not always easy but it because it is recorded you can always watch it again.

Jeff is literally the most amazing professor. He will go above and beyond to ensure that you understand the material at its core. You can tell he truly cares about what he does.

Jeff is so caring. He is willing to help you during office hours so you understand the material better. He records the lectures, which is good. His notes are easy to understand to prepare for the exams. There are 3 exams and a final. I wish there was extra credit. Also, he gives plenty of opportunities to review for exams.

There are 4 exams (final exam is cumulative) all given during the 50 minute lecture with 25 multiple choice questions. I found myself rushing and not being able to answer many questions. Going to lecture is very important and Jeff does a great job of teaching the material. Make sure to do all homework thoroughly (graded randomly).

Jeff obviously cares very much for both the material and students. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up and listen you'll understand without much outside work. The grade is based on 4 exams and homework, but exams are manageable and homework is fair. He explains everything well and the classes before exams are open forum review sessions.

By far my favourite professor! You can tell he genuinely cares about what he is teaching and he wants you to do well. Posts recorded lectures online so you don't have to go to class, and he really explains everything in detail so you know why the rules are there as well as knowing the rules themselves. Exams aren't too difficult! Great guy.

Very good prof explains everything very well and always is open to answer questions. He explains everything so clear I barely ever needed to use outside resources for help. As long as you have the textbook you should be good. I missed a few classes but he records the lectures so it was perfectly fine and the tests are so clear and pretty easy.

Jeff is a great prof. Lots of homework but worth your time doing it. Tests are basically like the class notes. He does record lectures in case you miss class but attendance is part of your grade(can miss 2 or 3 classes without impacting your grade). Jeff is very funny and does keep the class entertained. Sad we had to end the semester online.

Jeff is a really nice guy! You will pass the class as long as you attend the lecture. During the lecture, he goes over how to solve problems and most of the exam Q's are based on this material. Homework assignments are kinda tedious but easy

My class was asynchronous so we had to watch the lectures on our own. Overall a very easy class, just do the assignments and watch the lectures. He and the TAs are always available for questions. If you can't handle self-discipline to get assignments done on time, you will struggle.

Unfortunately had to take this class online due to the pandemic but I loved the prerecorded lectures. He's very organized with the topics being taught and has no problem finding alternative ways to explain things when a student is confused. Math work was easy and the exams are nothing to stress about if you understand the topics and take notes.

A gem. This man cares more than most given the fact that it's a R1 requirement course and everyone is there to just pass. Classes are asynchronous and the dates are clear from the first day of class. All recorded lectures and easy to follow notes. Homework due every 2 weeks. As a non math major this class and man shockingly didn't give me anxiety.

Jeff is probably the best math teacher I have ever had, even in high school. He goes at a perfect pace, is engaging, and takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material. There is about 1 homework a week and 3 exams (plus the final). I felt that the workload was the perfect amount. I would strongly reccomend this class!!

Amazing teacher. I hate math and Jeff makes it bearable. Cares about his students and goes out of his way to create time to help you with anything pertaining to the class. I promise you if you take him as your teacher for math you'll be happy with the decision.

probably the best math teacher ive ever had. im truly terrible at math but he always explained things in a very clear way, and was extraordinarily patient with questions and making sure everyone understood the material. truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed in the class. also super flexible with meeting outside of class to help.

Such a sweet professor. Will boost your grade if you come for extra help and lenient with points on exams. So so accessible outside of class, responds to emails very quickly. Lectures can be a little heavy and boring as he keeps you until the end of class every time but only 3 exams. MUST study for exams as need to complete problems a certain way.

His exams are very conceptual, which is very different from the typical analytical formatted exams. Make sure you understand the concepts and vocab from his lectures, take notes, and study before taking the exam. If you do these you will get an A. If you only know how to do the problem and not the concept then you will struggle. No extra credit btw

He explains materials very clearly, you can stop him mid explanation if you didn't understand something and he would re-explain it to you in a way you would understand. Home works from him aren't bad either but I would say their easy nor they are hard.

I miss Jeff's lectures so much. He would write out the notes with the students so there was no rushing to write everything down. If you have accommodations, he makes time for you to take the exams with him, which was nice to not have to go through D.S. and I could ask questions if I was confused.

Jeff is an absolute King! One of the nicest, most caring, and most professors at Umass. He truly wants his students to succeed! In class, he explains the topics in a way that is engaging and fun for everyone. He is accessible out ion class and clearly explains everything during his office hours.

Jeff is a great professor. His lectures are very easy to follow, and he writes out notes that are projected to the entire class. His examples are always great, and provide a wonderful explanation of the material. He is easy to reach via email, and very considerate of students with accomodations.

I would definitely take Jeff's class again, to pass the course you definitely need to pay attention, there's only two hw assignments a week on Pearson, extremely nice professor. 3 exams and 1 final. His ta's host some reviews but I would've loved this class if his ta's hosted some type of si sessions weekly.

This guy might be the nicest man on the plant. He accommodates any need and is always willing to help a student through any hardship. His class if fairly easy and very lecture heavy. Beware for his tests though as they can be surprisingly difficult in comparison to the rest of the class.

Very easy class as long as you do your homework and study for tests. Online homework assignments almost weekly, will extend due date if needed (just email him). Tests and homework make up your entire grade, no attendance for lectures. Lectures are recorded online and he is really great at explaining topics throughly and taking questions.

This class was amazingly easy and I am so thankful to be an education major where this counts for R1 and R2. The material was very easy to understand and the exams were based on things we went over in length in class. Despite being easy, I do think this class is going to be valuable to me and my major in the long run.

Jeff is an amazing professor! I was nervous about this class because I'm HORRIBLE at math but Jeff made all the difference. If the material from lecture isn't sticking go to his office hours with questions and he will literally sit down and walk you through it. Very generous with extensions. So kind & accommodating & genuinely wants you to succeed!

When I say there were no surprises in this class, I mean it. The hw WELL prepares you for the tests because the tests are exactly as he says & are more conceptual than "problem-ey." Just do the HW and you will be set for the exams. Jeff is a great guy and is always willing to help.

Jeff is a great professor for those interested in taking Math101. Jeff explains things very well during lectures, but sometimes oversimplifies concepts. If you were familiar with a concept that is taught in the class, I would recommend using the method you know rather than Jeff's method. Also, the tests are very similar to the homework.

He breaks the content down to the bone and exams are all multiple choice. Super caring and understanding.

This class is objectively very easy, but I strongly recommend taking a different gen ed for either your R1 or R2 if you haven't done math in a few years. That was my case, and I found the content to be really hard. If you like math though, this is a very easy attendance optional class. There is an online courseware you have to buy as well.

Professor Beaulieu is an incredible lecturer who genuinely cares about student success. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it, and Unstuck study ai is a great supplemental study tool alongside the free textbook.

Jeff is the best math teacher I have ever had. He is a teacher that fully explains the material in many different ways to ensure full understanding. I have Extra time accommodations on tests and Jeff went out of his way to help me set up times with him that worked with my schedule.

The first time I've understood math in years. I got all zeros on my math placement tests and had to start from scratch (as a CS major who should be in Calc 1) and he breaks everything down so well. He's clear and succinct and will do a lot of examples to make sure you get it. Thank you for making me (kinda) like math for once.

We all love Jeff! He would even bring in props to help explain probability problems with real life examples. He thoroughly explained everything and is very accommodating.

Stay on top of the assignments go to the SI sessions and pay attention in class. Very good teacher and he is nice man :) To access the assignments you need to buy pearson for like 90 dollars

Jeff is a G. Lots of notes, my hand kinda hurt, but it's chill. Only con is that you need to pay for the homework software, but it's worth it cause the homework is an amazing grade booster. Exams are all multiple-choice. Calculators aren't allowed, but you don't really need them. Overall, love him. Taking him again next year for Math 121.

Jeff is a great professor who clearly cares a lot about his students. Very accommodating and is very generous with extensions on hw (if you have a good reason you will get it almost every time). Most of your grade is based on exams so do keep that in mind. Laid out very clearly what will be on the tests and gives lots of opportunities to review.

Highly recommend this class. The notes are super helpful and are all I used to study. Tests are based on theories and if you know the steps to solving rather than asking you to solve. Tests are 25 MCQ and final is 40 MCQ. The homework is only about 20-40 MCQ but you get about a week and everything's covered in the lecture. Learned a ton.

This is the only math class I have ever felt confident in. HIGHLY recommend Jeff. All homework assignments will be on Pearson's My Math Lab. This will give you the opportunity to try problems multiple times and find study materials on what you struggle with. Each class is recorded and uploaded to Canvas in Echo360.

I've always been a poor math student, but Jeff is seriously one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He makes hard problems seem simple and explains things so well. Tests are fair and homework is a good resource for the exams. Highly recommend him as a professor!

I've NEVER succeeded in math until having Jeff as a professor. He explains everything so simply, and his tests are beyond doable. Not to mention he's so kind and wholesome.
