He's cool basic to the point like to teach. Only reason i didnt rate him a 5 in easiness is beacuse my head it not all there during his class. Dude what tripped me out was he Sounds just like Mad Hatter from the Alice n Wonderland ha ha!

He is one of the most interesting and helpful professors on campus. His tests are actually one the material that he covers in his class.

Dr. Blum is the best teacher in this whole school. You learn the material with ease, because of his teaching methods. He wants his students to learn psychology through enjoyment and not through panic or fear. He is a great guy and great teacher. Take him!

My first class with Dr. Blum was Psych 1 and decided to take him again for Psyc 13 because he cares for his students. He is not too easy and not extremely hard. I love Dr. Blum, I wish he can teach me all my classes!!!

Dr. Blum is one of the nicest professors you will meet. His tests are moderately hard but if you listen to his lectures, everything will be fine. He is a fair grader and will always be willing to give you a chance to raise your grade with many extra credit assignments.

He is the hottest thing ever!!! His style of teaching is superb. this class is no walk in the park but he makes it so that you can understand and feel confident that you know your stuff. He is verry accesable and down to earth you should take him for this class and others if possible..

To prepare for exams, just study the notes. He does his best to help everyone pass. Can prepare you for nursing.

I couldn't write everything about what makes this professor extraordinary but for me he deserves an A+++! I agree with the other posts here he's not very easy but not very hard but you will absolutely love going to his classes co'z he makes every lesson an interesting one. I loved his class!!! he is very clear his lectures are hand in hand with the text so you dont have to read it all just sections. Just show up to class everyday and youll do well.

dull! i slept in class, but he didn't care. same lectures, aka book powerpoints, year after year, but easy. not too challenging-just memorize and nod. 3 tests, lowest score is dropped, and one project, which i completely made up a character for, instead of actually basing it on someone i knew. he doesn't care either way-he has fulltime status.

One of LACC's finest! excellent at teaching psychology subjects and he can really bring out the best in you. Professor Blum teaches full-time and his teaching style is just superb. He tackles topics with ease and although sometimes confusing, he can adjust to everyone's learning style. He has a very natural sense of humor and very approachable.

He's a very good teacher. He explains everything clearly. His class was so informative that it won't put you to sleep. His exams are pretty hard, but if you study, you'll sure get an A. He was so kind and approachable, and when it comes to his term paper, you don't need to make anything technical, just answer from your heart and you'll get an A.

Dr. Blum is so nice. maybe too nice. he didn't care when some students sleep in his class. Lectures are power points. very informative lectures. Very helpful if you approach him. No pressure. so, you need to stay focused. don't miss out on his good lectures because you think you can just get by this class. you need to put in some effort.

Dr Blum is a great teacher! He's very clear and answers lots of questions (even some of the ridiculous ones). Go to class every day and take good notes and you will get an A. The book is very informative, but the class notes are most important for the exams.

Professor Blum is a great teacher. There is no homework or test's in this class, just the practice of Group Process. It is healthy for any individual to take this class and discover more about themselves. Made me want to take him for Psych-3

Blum's the best. He does not know his students that well, but at least his tests are easy. Dont really need the book. Just attend his class and listen to the lecture. TAKE NOTES! he even drops one test grade out of three. Not many extra credits but some. He's a really really nice guy. So patient and understanding to students. :]

2 scantron tests that covers material material from lecture AND textbook. 6 essays in which you write about yourself applying concepts learned in class. Extra credit available. This class was cool, easy, and fun. Definitely recommend Dr. Blum's class

I learned alot here. Blum is very nice and helpful. He teaches with a microphone so dont sit in front or youll be deaf lol. 3 quizzes and a cumulative final, based on his notes and textbook. Also, write down important things he says thats not on the screen, for they sometimes end up on the test too. Oh, and he looks somewhat like Conan O Brien haha

Dr. Blum is a great guy. He is always smiling and brings a warmth to the classroom. He is very clear with the notes he gives. The tests aren't too easy but they aren't hard either. I had a lot of fun in his class and highly recommend him.

Dr. Blum is the best psychology professor i have ever had!! :) he makes the class easy and anytime you need him, he's there. The class was real fun and i loved every single day of it and when he's in class, u can feel good vibrations from him from how he teaches

A very nice guy but his class walks all over him. He try's to hard to be liked and the result is no control over a disruptive class. I got an A and it was pretty easy, but the classroom environment is forgettable and most of your learning will be on your own at home. Avoid this one if you are one that like to learn or take it if you still like HS.

Dr. Blum is an excellent Psych teacher. He knows every single topic up side down. His class on Freud was rather a lecture. He teaches with passion, knowledge and respect. He is very well articulated; he has an amazing use of language; he is very cool.

He is easy going, very understanding, I also took psych 1, and if you study your notes well, you can pass his class.

3 Quizzes, one 5 page paper, and a cumulative final. There is no homework and no mandatory attendance. His tests are 99% from lecture and a rare couple come from the book. His quizzes are a bit difficult but he drops your lowest quiz score, curves all tests, and offered 3 extra credit opportunities. If you put in some effort and you should do well

AMAZING professor!! this class was simple enough just talk and share and be respectful. he runs class in the beginning but eventually the group runs itself. He is alot of fun enjoyed his class and him attendance in mandatory but he understands if you have problems. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AND THIS CLASS

He is really good at what he does. This is an important class and he knows so he puts his all into it.

I was very excited for this class but it fell short. All based on lectures so make sure you take extensive notes. The people I was around ruined it, but it's probably because he doesn't seem to have control over the class. He's sweet and helpful. I recommend him, but make sure you talk to him in his office. He helps you study for midterm/final.

Great teacher. You must take great notes in his class and study. Be prepared to study for a few hours. No h.w. assignments but don't take that as an invitation to slack off.

I had him for psych 27 also and he helped me more regarding a research paper then my present instructor had. Also he was very understanding regarding my group project when I got stuck doing all of it. Make sure you take notes and ask questions if you have any.

I love Dr.Blum! I have had him for more than half of my psychology crouses. If I didnt take him it was because of my schedule or he was not teaching the class that semester. He speaks with a mic too make sure everyone can hear him. Adding his class isnt a problem if you have to crash the class. His syllbus is up to date and he goes by it.

Ok... where to begin...hmm... Professor Blum honestly is a HIGHLY ORGANIZED, HELPFUL, professor! Also upbeat and cheery, he truly knows his stuff about personality, and philosophical aspects of life. All the assignments and test reviews are written on his website which is also VERY helpful to students. Great speaker as an added bonus. TAKE HIM

The class was hard to sit through since it's once a week, but Prof. Blum is extremely nice. The tests are multiple choice. To study for them, do his study guide. There is a group project that you do, it's not hard and a 5 page paper in APA format. You become friends with your group which you form in the beginning of the class. Study with them!

Prof Blum is a genuinely nice guy. Seems to actually enjoy teaching and cares about student learning. There are 2 exams and one group project/research paper - not the most easiest but if you study you will be fine. The tests are curved a lot. He uses PowerPoint in class which is helpful.

All his tests are curved. There's only three of them throughout the whole semester. His lectures are extremely long though. However, he's a really nice guy and very approachable

Dr Blum is approachable and amiable. As long as you understand English this class is almost impossible to fail, and is an easy A for those prepared to do the most basic studying. The professor curves and usually provides a study guide for tests. Also there is no cumulative final.

Really enjoyed this class. Grading is based on two tests -- a midterm and final -- and a research paper and presentation. Tests came directly from his lectures -- you could probably get by without ever opening the book. Does take attendance every class. Gives extra credit, but not much. Prof. Blum has a lot of enthusiasm for what he teaches.

Take Dr Blum only if you are serious about psychology as a major. You really have to put 110% in studying because his tests are a bit difficult in the sense that you can't base your studies on memorization like a health class. His tests are based on hypothetical scenarios.

Phenomenal. You'll seldom have nice professors as him. Exceptionally well established lectures and clear expectancy. His website is very neatly made and gives you a clear outline of your obligations.

Dr. Blum is a class act in his profession. My learning experience with him has been nothing less than a Blessing and a priveledge

lot's of breakdown on individual chapters. will explain most questions, willing to see you after class, will work with student if they have problems. I enjoy his lectures because he better explains what we read in the book chapters. Offers extra credit to help grade point. Would take any other class he offers, if needed.

There were two tests: the midterm and final, which are easy as long as you study since it's all been mentioned by him in his lectures (no surprises). You do have to do a group research presentation (15 mins) and a paper about that research (on your own, not with group). Just be aware that each assignment is worth a lot so make sure to not fail any.

PROF BLUM IS A VERY NICE GUY. HIS LECTURES ARE SOMETIMES A LIL BORING BUT OVERALL AWESOME.

Gives good lectures. Lots of note taking. Most quizzes are from the notes so take good notes! Easy to listen to and is always caring. Has funny stories.

I took him for Psych 43 (Group Dynamics) and it was a really cool experience. There is no homework. All you have to do is show up (literally can't be absent more than 4 times) and share with the class your thoughts or experiences (depending on the topic). You receive no grade for this class; you receive CR/NCR instead.

Blum is very thorough with his lectures so you have to take a ton of notes since it will all be on his midterm and final. He has a very mellow voice which makes a lot of students sleepy as well as makes it hard to focus on his long lectures. There's mandatory group work towards the end of the semester. Overall a very boring, lengthy class, beware.

Extra credit available! I read 50% of the time and still managed to receive a B however I expect a C to be honest. Show up and do the work, you'll pass!

Great professor and really has a lot of care for his students. Lots of fun extra credit offered and he knows the subject of social psychology inside out. Highly recommend Prof. Blum. Beware in this specific class a portion of your grade is based on a group research project.

Dr. Blum is an AWESOME professor. The lectures he gives are very interesting and if it is something that you may not understand, he will explain. He smiles all the time. I believe he is also the head (or at least one) of the psychology department.

Your lecture notes are vital for a passing grade for each test. I didn't even read the book and still got B's on my tests. He offers extra credit and easy to understand lectures and assignments. When studying, try to remember some of the names he mentions. Chances are, 3 names will need to be identified.

He made psych 1 easy to understand. Lectures are mostly PowerPoints but they are easy to understand. Great professor. There is a paper at the end but very simple and quizzes are not difficult as long as you study the lecture notes.

There is no homework assignments . There is only a midterm test , final test , presentation, and a final paper . He is very nice professor. But his test could be a bit challenging. Just read the book by chapter. Using the notes alone will not help you .

There is A LOT of slides. Probably not such a hassle to take notes if you have the book, but I didn't. If you don't take notes!! It's not difficult material, just a lot, and its all on the tests. There is a group project apart from a few individual assignments; he let's you pick the topic for all.

Although hes a good lecturer it still somewhat boring! Hes well liked by students. Expect his tests not to be in plain everyday English. Hes got a PhD. Tests arent tricky but in the proper college wnglish language! Bit hard to pass but got to do some work!

I am going to major in this and I'm sorry at first I hated it but as the class went on he made me want to for sure major in Psych. I loved how no matter what ask question after question you will always have an answer. I will for sure take this class again.

Dr. Blum is a teacher that really cares for his students to succeed. The tests are pretty easy, but you still learn from them. The discussions are pretty easy too, as long as you read the text. He is a great communicator and listener. If you don't understand an assignment, he'll make sure you understand how to complete the assignment.

Easy class and lots of fun! The modules and quizzes tests were easy, and we got to get creative and make a research project of our choosing! This was his first 8-week class so it was kind of rushed, but I still had fun doing my research. Project includes PowerPoint and information and a final research paper. Lots of involvement with the class!

Dr. Blum is a nice professor. Only had 1 lecture a week but the independent study load was heavy. The tests were hard but fair. He never tested on things you didn't learn from textbook or lecture. The class was hard but if you put in the work you will do okay. Participation matters. He likes answering questions on psych and enjoys the topic.

You'll never find another professor as enthusiastic, caring, helpful, and on top of all these things a great teacher at what he does. Loves to engage with students and has a deep understanding and care for his work and classes. As long as you try and turn in all your homework it's an easy A. Would highly recommend taking Blum!

Very great class and wonderful lectures. No homework or random quizzes. Just the main assignments such as mid/final, presentations, and PowerPoints. Hopefully your class discussion will be as entertaining as mines. It's always interesting to socially discuss one another's social perspectives. The textbook chapters are very lengthy so do make time.

Taking Psych 74 with Professor Blum was a blessing. He's one of the best professors I've ever had & even though the material was challenging at times, he always did his best in explaining things to us. It was also very helpful that the modules were always filled with lots of information. I regret not being able to take more psych classes with him.

He's my 2nd favorite psychology teacher. I remember writing a paper for each chapter we learned. He's not a heavy grader or give you tons of homework. He always replies to questions that you have. I took him for fall 2022 I'm hoping to find another psychology class with him he made it fun to learn new things and not because you had to. He's nice.

Took him for fall 2024 online and he was great. It seems he creates his modules weeks before so he was always prepared. He grades surprisingly quickly and always has something good to say about your paper. Textbook is free and his lecture videos are engaging and easy to listen to. Some class discussions. Easy A, just take him already.
