Very collegiate type of course. Discussion based, critical thinking used. 3 midterms 30% each non cumulative and 10% participation marks that were gimmies. If you pay attention in class and take notes of what he says, you will do great without much work outside of class.

It is by far one of the simplest 100-level courses that I have taken. If you cannot attend lectures, he livestreams and posts them. All we had to do in the class were 3 non-cumulative, straightforward multiple-choice exams. He is also hilarious and tells very interesting stories. I would highly recommend the class to anyone.

Super nice & funny guy, easy lecture content, does not require textbook. He livestreams/records lectures for all his classes so in-person attendance not necessary. 3 equally weighted non-cumulative exams. Exams are 5 SA Q's (6 for final) with slight time crunch. Exams are reasonable but wording on Q's can be vague, so hard to know what answer is.

No one should give him a 1 star rating because this was the easiest course I've taken even though I am a science major. 10000% would recommend him. Super easy to approach and understanding. The most understanding prof I've seen in this entire university

He tries his best to make a boring course interesting with his humour and sarcasm, which I enjoyed. He also records all his lectures which makes attending class accessible especially when I was busy or sick. For soc 100, all his tests were multiple choice and you got to know your mark as soon as you hit submit on eClass.

Lectures are recorded, and I recommend watching them/attending and taking notes, since his slides are a little sparse. Other than that, super easy course, fun lectures, and all exams are non-cumulative and multiple choice, so this class is an easy A. You just need to make flashcards lol

Professor Brassard makes this otherwise boring course enjoyable with his humour and sarcasm. Lectures are recorded and accessible online, and exams are straightforward multiple-choice. I found unstuck study a helpful study tool alongside the free course materials.

Really great guy, class had a midterm and a final which were super easy. Only bad part is the lab portion, lab assignments are super easy you get 100% as long as you write something basically, but then you get to the major lab and you know nothing cause you've gotten 100% on all the labs, the TA and Prof both grade it super strictly!

Nice guy, but don't be fooled by the online lecture option. Showing up will help your grade. It's a smaller class so being present gets you a notch up the average. Basic psychology. The second midterm content was much more interesting than the stuff on the final (loads of graphs), imo.

AWESOME PROF!!!! thought the two midterms and final worth approx 30-35% each was gonna be a pain but if you are on top of notes (which are posted w lecture vids) and do the practice questions- you'll do great in the class. prof just uses practice questions as the actual questions for midterms and exams are non cumulative. really funny prof too!

the best prof at the uofa genuinely. his recorded lecture videos are all you need for success. the class is non cumulative, and the exams are extremely easy (I got 88 on the last one when I literally finished the notes that morning). Upside: He has a playlist on YouTube of all of the lectures for this class, so you don't have to worry about missing anything if you can't come to class. Lots of mini projects, but you get 100% if you just submit them. Downside: The exam written questions are kinda hard, and he's obsessed with furries and fur-sonas to almost an alarming extent. :)

Definitely would recommend being highly familiar with terms and theories, and doing the practice questions he posts to help with midterms and final. I would also recommend reading txb to help build up confidence with content and clarity if you have time.

There is practice questions for the exams and he gives a clear breakdown of the units that will be tested on. They are also non-cumulative. I am taking another class with his next year

I had four other classes this semester so I was genuinely so overwhelmed overtime. But this class was honestly the easiest thing I've ever done. A lot of the concepts were really just common sense, and Dr. Brassard made the exams strictly related to the lecture videos, which was incredible! Would definitely take another class with him if I could.
