Great class and great professor, take an IDH class if you can!

He's very intelligent and he doesn't hesitate to tell you as much. Knows the subject thoroughly, but has some odd ideas (coexistence of humans and dinosaurs, vapor layer over the Earth causing Noah's flood, etc.).

Really nice guy and very interesting stories. This is a pretty easy class with alot of writing. Still can't figure out if thats a rug on his head or not. Hmmm...

Can you say "EGO". High intellect. Quote his lectures in your papers, stick to the format and you could write baby sentences and still get an "A". Did I mention "EGO":)

Sets off my ****dar a little, but only because he is extremely focused on himself. His lectures are good, grades papers easily, and will make you feel like you know nothing. IDH kind of sucks, and that's where I had him. He totally has a toupee.

I took my first online class with him. He does grade very fair but you have to write a lot. I averaged about 5-6 pages of writing a week. The discussions that you have to post weekly are repetitive but tolerable. Ego problem?- definite understateme

Very Intellectual. He seems odd but only because he knows a whole lot more than the average person. When he tells you stories and you just laugh it off you will be surprise because he is usually right. He's easy going, very helpful.

I took his course online. As long as you do everything the way he says, he will grade you easy. There is a catch to it, you need to write about 5 pages per week. At first it seems a lot but it pays of with very easy final exam.

Very smart teacher. He knows so much about the material it's insane. He does have a big ego, but that doesn't distract from his teaching. He will tell you exactly what he expects in an essay, which if you follow gives you a good grade. Use his quotes!

Took his online Intro Class, and the work load is pretty daunting. To recieve an A you have to write a page per question, and you usually are assigned 18 questions. The questions are ALL about your opinion so its easy to write alot. If you dont like reading and writing dont take the class.

Tight teacher. He knows alot about, well, everything. You do have to follow instructions, but if your good at the, youll get an easy A. Very fun, honest guy. If you want a teacher that actually cares about youas an individual, id take this class.

I took this guy 3 times..3 different classes. I would recommend him. Do what he says, and follow the rules, you'll come out on top.Don't try to bull sh*t in your papers.. check the bylines..he wrote most of the book.-NO JOKE!!!!

Professor is the best VCC has. A brilliant and very nice man! He's very fair in grading. You will work for the "A", but take him. He's a walking encyclopedia. His credentials are out-of-this world. I was surprized at how much I learned from this teacher. A+++++++++

His online courses are great. He was wonderful during the hurricanes--he even cancelled assignments for us to take care of our families and damage to our homes. What teacher worth his/her salt would not want students to follow directions? Absolutely the BEST teacher at VCC. Even a better person!

Great professor (phd). Very easy class, read the texts and you will get an 'A'. Follow his instructions very carefully. I found him to be very fair, even when I screwed up. Do NOT use his Atlas address or you will lose all credit. I would highly reccomend him.

Great teacher!! I would recommend professor Donley to anyone. There is a weekly assignment due on Monday's and we had written well over 6,000 words and didn't have to do the last 4 assignments in the class!! Very nice in person also. The only thing you don't do is e-mail him at Atlas!!! A+++++

There is a lot of writing but thats it. No tests and sometimes doesn't give final exams. I've taken him twice and got away without an exam.

Is awesome in IDH. Comes off as arrogant, but when you get to know him, very cool. Let us leave extra early and is very smart. Enjoyed his class very much. I heard he's much harder in his Humanities classes away from IDH. So, you may wanna stick to IDH if you take him. But, he is awesome there and an easy grader (you get away with works cited page)

this class is like a dream come true. all we do is take notes then type them. we put our notes in a portfolio and thats it! he's great his lessons are actually interesting. I cant stay awake in classes like this but he's such an awsome teacher.

I think he is very cool... His class is only easy if you do your assignments which are really easy if your a person with opinions if u dont care bout views on things dont bother to take it.. other than that the class is great

Very easy class. Reading assignments are short, easy, and papers are very easy as well.

Now i have to let you know the truth... this professor is easy, there is no test, no quiz, no final exam, the only is you have to read a story and answer the six question that follow it(but it only once a week) and you get to leave class early everyday.

Easy class! You have 2 short stories to read a week- on 1 class day you discuss the story and the other class day you turn in the 6 questions at the end of the story. There are NO tests not even a real final- the final is just like an assignment. Make your answers at least half a pg and you're good. U learn interesting things HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! A+

A great deal of reading and writing but no exams. Final was the course evaluation. Make sure you do not email him on his atlas address. You should get an "A" if you write 7-15 pages per paper.

The man is good ... he knows what he knows so you should never doubt that. When you do the passages ... write all that you know, feel, and think you know.

He was the best teacher I've ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable and he was always willing to help. The only reason people would not like Donley is if they're slackers. I can't wait to take him again.The only assignment the whole semester was a portfolio of the class notes, and he let us out 45 min. early everyday to type them. He's awesome!!

This class is easy as pie only if you meet the word requirement on each essay. Sometimes I don't even think he read them, just checked to see if you met the word requirement and slapped an A or B on it. I got an A in the class and I dont really think I deserved it.

Easy class! Initially, it is hard to figure out exactly how long to make the papers that you'll write. After the first two, I knew what it took to make an A each time. A LOT OF WRITING for a class that is not Gordon Rule!!! But no tests! If you'd rather take a more structured class, then look elsewhere. Will let you out 45 min early each class!

Isn't it great when you have a professor who actually knows the subject they are teaching?Donley is an expert in humanities and by the end of the class you will be an expert too.I actually learned a lot in this class and it wasn't hard at all.Donley is an awesome professor and he doesnt get you all stressed out like most professors do-Take him.

1 of the easiest classes, EVER! along w/easiness, was a lot of great, resourceful info..he knows his stuff..likes people to volunteer answers..hw should be lengthy..takes attendance, so be on time..always got out early..if u need to chat w/him, he's almost always available [after class/in office]..no tests!! e-mail final! doesn't get any better!

One of my favorite teachers so far. Lets you out early. No text book, just a lot of note taking. Pretty amusing as a teacher. Learned a lot while taking his class.

Easy Class! Only discussions during class, Q's from the readings are due each week and have to be pretty lengthy but it does meet Gordon Rule. No test, no exams, and you get out of class early. Just read and do the questions and you'll be fine. In the questions he calls for long answers so you might have to BS. GREAT PROFESSOR!

this professor is great!! he is very laid-back but on the first semester we had to read one story, answer the questions, and discuss the questions. as the semester progresses, he lets us decide if we want to discuss in groups or separately; we choose "groups"!... and it was awesome as well. :) choose this professor, really good.

He's a great teacher!!!!very laid back. really loves his teaching but lectures only twice a whole semester. everyday for hw we read stories&answer 6 questions writing them in short essay form to turn in and discuss in class as class work. questiong are basically on our opinion of a point of view and just explain. really easy to pass his class!!!

Definatly a good class, he gives an option to either have a portfolio or regular class and how offten checks are. My class chose Portfolio, its a lot of work for an A but very managable and he lectures the whole way through class but everything he says is VERY interesting.since its gorden rule be prepared to write!

Wonderful Teacher! Easy A if you read and expand on your answers. Forces you stretch your ideas and viewpoints on topics. Took him for Intro, taking him now for 20th and will take him again! He knows his stuff. Makes humanities enlightening and EASY. Take him!

Awesome teacher. Great help with anything and everything. 7 papers and nothing else, these are your tests. Do what he asks and it's an easy A. Make sure you email your paper to the correct email address. Taking him again next semester. Great class.

Awesome teacher and interesting class. Took this class online and would take him again. Papers to write but no tests!!!!! He is very helpful if you turn your paper in early he will grade and allow you to redo to get a better grade.

Took his online HUM 1020 class. Structure is very clear: Each week 2 articles there are 6 questions after each artcle - 12 total. Problem is, this guy stresses QUANTITY OVER QUALITY. So make sure you write a whole lot for each question, about 3/4 a page worth single spaced for each question and you'll get a B. That's the hard part, writing alot.

An awesome teacher... you will not find a better professor! With his style of teaching you learn something and it sticks with you - there is no cram and dump! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :o)

I would recommend people to take his class. He doesn't provide test BUT you have to use your notes to make a book. prepare to write alot of notes. Make sure you pay attention in his class. He's picky in what is going on the notes. but at the end of the day, you'll learn something.

I took this class during the summer session and was not looking forward to it at all! But I fell inlove with this class and the professor, it is so interesting and i have never been able to sit through a class and pay attention! I didn't miss one class even in the summer!

Took this class online. It was easy. Write a one page paper for 2 chapters every few weeks. Basically you email him the paper. He emails you the grade. Thats it. No tests. He didnt communicate well. He doesnt except late work. He also doesnt except work that is sent to his atlas email. Be careful of that! Otherwise. He was decent. Easy A!

This class was an easy A. The professor has you a paper answering 6 questions per article and there are 2 articles per assignment. As long as you write a lot per paper you will get an A. THis class couldn't be any easier.

Took two Humanities classes with him...this one online. Great teacher! Easy A! Gives you two weeks to write a 4 page paper. When submitting the exams, be sure to use the right email address or else he won't accept.

took greek and roman w/ him. He has some crazy ideas, but his class is very interesting. He loves what he teaches. Class chooses to do portfolio or tests. If u get portfolio just be prepared to type on ur computer like crazy or take a tape recorder. When I was done my portfolio had 100 pages. I put lots of pictures in it though.

His material is very interesting when he lectures. You will need your book. He has the type of personality that you will either really like or really hate. There is a lot of writing, but he will guide you through corrections stp by step. So as along as you show up and do the writing and do NOT get behind ... this class is an easy A.

Dr. Donley is the BEST hum teacher! no tests or quizes! He has his own method of teaching. Take a laptop to class and your set, he'll check your work everyday if you ask to make sure everything is correct. Lectures are extremly intresting and he is very helpful!! Great teacher I highly recomend his class!

Be careful if you take this teacher for Greek/Rom. He somehow tries to throw Creationist and anti-Gay messages into his message especially during the pre-Civ era and the Christianity era. Hard 2 believe anything he says once you hear how slanderous he can become with things like "the fall of our nation will be due to the fall of mother/father fam"

Did not need a book. Did not have a Midterm. And for Final we took him out too dinner and told him what we liked about the class and he gave us all "A"s.

If your taking an online course for humanities this is your teacher. He's awesome! Yes their is a lot of writing about 7 essays 5 to 7 pages long but he gives you 2 weeks to do the assignment. No discussions nothing just essays. He's very fare and very nice. He also drops 2 essays to give you a break.

Professor Donley is one of the best professors I've ever had! He is so interesting, and he really knows his stuff! You'll never be bored in his classroom! If you can't write fast, I suggest getting a voice recorder, because things move fast in his classroom. But I really suggest taking him, because he really knows his stuff. He's great!

An interesting class where a lot of material is covered. Prof. Donley gives an option of tests or portfolios; the portfolios are a guaranteed A if you follow his layout exactly. He does tend to incorporate a lot of Christianity and bible preaching into the course, which are not facts but more beliefs. The class is an easy A.

donley is not a bad teacher, he just has his own beliefs. if you are christians and/or follow your religion very well, i would not recommend donley. he is teaching only his beliefs, but do not give you direct proofs.he gives you the choice of quizzes and tests or a portfolio. if you follow his instructions, it is an easy A class.

Professor Donley is the best professor I have ever had. I have taken two classes with him and received an A in both. In order to do well you need to take notes over everything that he says and make sure that you continue to check in with him for advice and help with your portfolio.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! Loved the class - Greco/Roman Humanities. A lot of work, but as long as you show up to class you'll get an A. Many people on here say this man is a Creationist he is but he never pushes it onto anyone.His class is very entertaining. The class will vote to do a portfolio or do test and quizzes. The portfolio is a lot of work,I got an A on it. but if you could, do the test and quizzes and save yourselves the headache.

He seemed a bit stuffy a few times, but he kept the subject interesting. He had the air of knowing everything and criticized a lot. But he was pretty funny. And definitely vote for the portfolio and have him look over your stuff often.

Donley is the most interesting teacher I have ever had...He is way over-qualified to be teaching at Valencia. He puts an outline on the board and just talks off the top of his head for the whole class, and it is more like listening to someone tell a story than give a lecture. The portfolio was fun to do and came out really nice.

I took Professor Donley's online class, and seriously this is a very easy A class. There is a lot of writing, but all I did was write word for word on what the book said. I highly recommend this teacher.

First let me start by saying that this man is full of himself. He thinks he knows everything, as if he was there in that point of history typing down whatever happened.His class is easy but his personality is highly annoying.

Prof. Donley is a very nice man. I took him last semester for intro to humanities and I mus say that it was the best class I have ever taken in Valencia. He makes his lessons super interesting. When he talks it's like he's telling a story and you just want to know what's next. His class is easy and interesting. Easy A and you actually learn a lot!

Professor Donley is great. Took his online Intro1020 class.He does not bug you or bother you. Your homework is to read 2 chapters, complete the assignments and he gives you 2 weeks to complete. He only gave us 5 assingments and the final exam was to read 2 chapters and answer 6 questions for each chapter. Your answers do need to be long to get an A

Prof. Donley is probably the easiest professor you can take. I took his online class and it was REALLY easy. Our final exam is to review his book. Take this class for easy A.

Had him for Greco-Roman humanities and it's incredible how much history you'll learn by the time the course is over. Great teacher. Tests are open-note, oral, or notebook check; no textbook required. Just take good notes and you should pass with an A+.

This teacher is incredible. Really knows his stuff. Can be a little cocky since he has a lot of personal experience learning the things he teaches you. No text book and you get to use notes on all the tests. Pretty much no final but you really learn a lot with the way he teaches. Take good notes and you cannot fail this class. Oh, and NO TEXTING!

Had him for Greco-Roman. Easily my most fun and easiest class, but also the one I learned the most in. He's kinda cocky, but he really knows his stuff. What ever you do, do NOT even have your phone on in his class. Other than that, probably one of, if not THE, best professors I've had.

Took him for Intro & Greco-Roman, one of the best professors..he's funny and knows his stuff, you take notes and can use them on the tests, honestly, it's impossible to get less than an A if you don't talk, don't use your cell, and take good notes. Also, go to class! I would recommend him to anybody! There is no book!

Dr. Donley is my favorite professor ever. I really wish he taught western civ classes too. He is very passionate about the material he is teaching and his class goes by fast. He is a well educated and a well traveled man. You won't regret taking his courses.

Interesting professor. Very knowledgable and tries to keep in interesting. It is an EASY A or B, no way you can fail this class unless you dont attend a lot, dont take notes and bring your notes to class everyday. Doesnt seem to give points for going above and beyond... but if your looking for a "GPA boost" this is the class for you.

Such an easy A as long as you go to class and take notes. Tests are open note so there is no reason to not get an A.

I took this Greek / Roman class over the summer 2013. He is very clear on his expectations. The exams are essays which makes it easy because you don't have to study. The lectures were on videos and print outs (no text book required). The videos were very interesting - I learned a lot. Overall, I think he is a great teacher - you will learn a lot.

I absolutely LOVED his class!! I took him for intro to Humanities and I never looked forward and enjoyed going to a class before in my life. He lets you his notes on the test and he makes everything easy to understand and fun at the same time. It is almost impossible to fail. Although he hates cell phones in class and if seen with withdraw you.

Easy A. I took his class online for spring and I could definitely say his the best professor ever. I really enjoyed learning but in an entertaining way. I am going to take him again for Hum Greek/Roman.

I took his class online for the summer and it was great! Yes he has an "exam" every week. I say "exam" because he asks you a couple questions in the discussion forum that you have to answer. That's it. If you watch the videos and take notes that is pretty much all you need for the questions. Super easy and the videos are entertaining!

He is super easy. His class are very interesting because he explains like he lived the moment that he is talking about. He let you have your notes on the test, so it makes much easier everything. Just take his notes and you will pass with an A. He is very smart and he likes to make his class very funny and interesting.

Easy A as long you do the work. He does not play around with laziness. I took this class on-line and basically listened to video lectures and write about the material in the lecture. This class does including lots of writing and watching lectures that is mostly video clips. No test or quizzes and easy final.

I read all the comments. I want to say that when you want to learn, then Dr. Donley is the professor that you want in your corner. He is not tough, he is straight forward & his video lessons are incredible! You will learn about real history & where we come from through his Humanities 20th Century course. He is the best by far & I love his class.

Incredibly easy A if you participate and get all of the work done that he gives you in class. He doesn't give you any homework outside of class either.

Easiest A of the century. If you come to every single class and take notes on everything he says youll be golden. He doesnt believe in homework or standardized tests, so the tests are discussion questions that youve taken notes on. He lets you use notes on the test and thats it. No reading. Just show up and listen and youll get an A. loved him

Your grade is based off your tests which are open note and usually just copypaste version of your notes. He makes history interesting. Very easy class and as long as you quote everything he says, you're golden. You don't even have to try in order to pass.

All you have to do is listen and take good notes. He is very easy, and helpful. However, he's big on not having electronics out during class time. I don't like learning about history, I'm more of a math person, but he made it so interesting. I would take him again!!!;

Dr. Donley is so passionate about humanities, and I would not have gotten an A with any other professor. I am a Biology major and this subject typically does not interest me but Dr. Donley made this class worthwhile. The workload is not much and test are also very easy if you take good notes. I would take him for all my Humanitirs courses!

Very funny guy. He mostly lectures on the videos and not many quizzes but one written assignment at the end of the semester. I would take another humanities class with him instructing.

Really great professor! There are about 2 to 3 lecture videos (1 hour each) a week. Watch the lectures (Which are surprisingly interesting), take notes, and answer the discussion questions. If you take quality notes during the lectures then you will have no problem answering the discussion questions.

Professor Donley is really amazing. He cares about his students and his teaching. I didn't think I would learn a lot but I did and I still remember his lectures. He teaches as if he's telling a story, very descriptive. Best teacher at Valencia !

Enjoyed this class, the easiest class of my life. He seems strict at first but he is super friendly and funny. No homework just come to class, take notes and turn it in ( thats all you do for the rest of the semester). Tests (2 at the beginning of the semester) are open notes, easy fill in the blanks and for the final you just type one paragraph.
