Great professor. He was very passionate and it rubs off on you. Not a strict authoritarian, and the learning matters here, not deadlines or grades. If you put in the effort, you will definately pass.

Jeff Knorr is cute! He's an pretty easy and he makes you feel involved, he pretty much motivates you. He's easy to approach and helps you when you need it. His class is passable!

He was an exceptional teacher! Prior to taking his class I truly disliked English. His passion and knowledge of his class just seeped through everything he did. Knorr is a great instructor to take for a creative writing class. He's very thorough, and has a lot of workshops and exercises to work on that help with your writing. He's very helpful, and helped give ideas on what stories and poems to write.

Jeff is a really good teacher, my only caveat is that he doesn't have alot of structure, and if you tend to procrastinate the work load sneaks up on you. Very fair in the way he handles the class and he gives very good feedback. If you are interested in Creative Writing i reccomend him highly... looking for an easy A - not so much

Knorr is an awesome teacher, and a great writer as well. He will make you love reading, or writing for that matter. He does grade pretty hard for a class that's so laid back though.

Very creative teacher who not only teaches technique and writing strategies but encourages his students to think of writing as a very personal task, not something strictly done to please a professor.

Jeff was my professor for 3 classes this Spring semester. He is an AMAZING professor and writer that cares about his students. He has a very Socratic teaching style, he always encourages his students to "think outside of the box." No matter what class you take with Jeff Knorr, you will learn more than a lot. And you will become a better writer!

he's very funny and outgoing. he loves his students and helps out whenever you need it. he's especially easy for EngWr 49. his class is easy to pass. he actually makes his class enjoyable just becasue of his good attitude. He's great as a teacher and someone to just talk to!!!

Great teacher! Participate in the class! It helps you by talking about it and he is helpful if you don't understand something. Oh and he's super hot :).

Jeff's classes are largely based around discussion, so BE READY to participate. He's very open and never tries to humiliate his students. He sort of improvises, so don't expect him to be completely organized. His courses basically consist of a lot of reading, a lot of analysis, and a bit of writing. He gives a lot of helpful feedback, so apply it.

I took his English 40 and 49. He is great i actually learned more in his class about English then i did when was in high school. He is so easy to understand and if you don't understand he will go over until you do. i recommend his class you will like him and his classes are NOT boring.

I look forward to this class every T/Th. I love all the discussion and Jeff makes sure that everyone's opinion is respected. He is great at staying on topic and guiding people back from their tangents. Very focused, great class- I plan on taking another class from him next semester!

He has been one of my favorite teachers at SCC thus far. He is an excellent teacher, and if you are an aspiring writer you WILL develop better writing skills. He gives many workshops and exercises which are helpful and there are no tests. He pushes his students to higher creative plateaus, and you learn a lot from him. Not bad to look at either ;D

I've been exposed to poetry since elementary, but never could understand or appreciate it. Knorr made me curious about it and now I'm just loving it! I recommend him for intro to poetry!

You've got to take his class. He doesn't **** you around. Just show up, do the reading, and when you get stuck on the work he's very helpful. He has a great passion for writing which he kept me interested. I don't care for engwr at all, but he made it very enjoyable. I'm not the best writer, but I pulled through. Jeff is a great teacher. I am an english major, but I really don't like poetry, but he made it easy even for me. He only assigns about 3 essays and 3 exams I believe, and no homework. Though I hate poetry, I am taking another poetry class just to have him as my prof :)

This prof is pretty cool and he is sincerely passionate about literature. I recommend taking him. All we did was hold discussions in class about the readings. make sure you do the readings before hand so you can engage in discussions, its what makes or breaks the "b" student from the "A" student.

Knorr is a GREAT teacher. His discussions were very interesting and though provoking. I walked away from each class inspired to write my essays. Grade based on 3 essays and a final essay. Fairly easy grader. Work on ur essays for atleast two days and you will probably get a good grade (make sure you read the books that the essays are on though!)

Professor Knorr is a great teacher with much passion for the subject. Only thing I would really criticize is how late he returns essays, that's it though. No homework besides work on essays, and the essays themselves were fairly graded.

Took his poetry class spring 2011 and he is a great teacher. He was very approachable and extremely nice. The class was easy, no homework, I believe one presentation. It sucks that he said he won't be teaching poetry anymore, because he made it actually interesting to someone that doesn't care about the subject. Overall he's a great professor

Took this class and Jeff taught it with Troy Myers, I was enrolled in Troys class but the class was still the same-Troy graded his papers & Jeff graded his. Jeff is EXTREMELY helpful, nice & understanding. The class isn't hard, just show up and read the poems. He's easy on the eyes, too ;)! LOL

If you're into poetry, you'll dig his class. I personally liked the short story portion of the class better. There are two papers and two tests. As long as you read the poems/stories and are able to analyze them, you'll do fine. He's a nice guy and always willing to help you.

Prof. Knorr is a great guy who knows literature. I thought I'd be bored to death in a literature class. Not the case. First half of semester was poetry. Took Midterm. Second half was short fiction. Took final. Not cumulative. He wants you to dig deep in meaning of the poems or stories. Also very pleasant.

3 In class essays (2mid/final)3 take home essays total of 6 essays. No homework. Have to read 1 short novel. Teacher is hilarious and very helpful. I'm terrible at English and I have an A in this class. Attendance is mandatory but if you decide not to go for some reason just email him. Very understandable. Tells you exactly how he wants his essays.

Class is super easy. I'm very lazy and I got an A in this class. No homework besides read short essays. If you want to transfer and boost your GPA up, this is your man. Prof. Knorr grades easy. He even gives you the midterm topic ahead of time so you can practice!!!! 4 take home essays and 3 in class essays.

Ties in his own personal experience and is lenient enough within the class to make you want to go the extra mile. I took this professor for 110, and 303! One of the best professors you can take. He's passionate about the subject, very laid back, and always loves it when students engage in discussions. I actually enjoyed coming to English class.

wow, what a great professor!! books are intriguing, essays aren't too difficult, and most of all class is never boring he always engages the class. i would definitely take him again only con: he never replies back to emails. if you wish to get in contact with him, i suggest you speak to him after class or during office hours. do not rely on email.

Out of all the english writing profesors I've had, Jeff has been by far the best english profesor I've took. Jeff gives excellent feedback, and will help you improve the mistakes you made on papers and at the same time will make you feel proud of your work. Can't thank him enough.

Knorr makes great connections and is always up for changing things around. He goes off what the class and feeling and plans around that. Make sure you keep on top of assignments. Would take every semester If I could.

Knorr is a great professor. Circulates around the English department. Class participation is highly encouraged. Didn't find him to be too harsh of a grader or a teacher. Gave me a CD. Funny, easy to approach. Sometimes canceled class w/out sending an email, just left a note on the door. Engaging, wants you to pass. Kinda bad at replying to emails.

Prof. Knorr is laid back & this class was an easy A. There were 4-5 papers at most. I didn't like that this class was combined with another professor he's friends with, I forgot his name, but he's a total jerk. I personally feel he was predjudiced towards me because of how I look. He asked if we had questions & was rude & sarcastic when answering.

We had very interesting discussions in this class! Professor Knorr graded pretty easily. Although he could be hard to get in touch with, he was understanding towards me when I had to miss class a few times due to personal reasons. He was a good listener and lecturer. He had a good sense of humor and sunny disposition that put me at ease. I had fun!

Down to earth guy, patient, listens & gives honest but critical feedback. If you don't pass his class it's because you're lazy. He really cares and wants the best for each student, wish there were more professors like this on campus and around the world. Connects to students very well and is very understanding about the life of a student. Gives great advice on how to prepare for an essay and gives great feedback on any mistakes.

Took him for ENGWR 300. Throughout the semester I had missed more than a few more days. Followed up with him during his office hours and he was more than understanding. He is very flexible with everything. Just communicate. Hes funny and light hearted. I enjoyed going to class when I went. Hes very helpful and understanding.

Professor Knorr was so great! English is my least favorite subject and I told him that and he was very caring and really put in the effort to make it as enjoyable as possible. The topics covered mostly involve racism and injustice in the government system. We had about 4 papers, all about 2-4 pages, VERY lenient with due dates. SUCH A CARING PERSON

Professor Knorr was an awesome teacher to have. When classes were in person, the lectures were very insightful and easy to follow and interact with. Once we were forced to go online, he did so flawlessly, holding zoom calls to carry out the lectures and being very accessible outside of class times. Straight to the point assignments and tests.

he is great, considerate of everyones time and personal situations going on outside of class. 2 tests + essays but he goes over everything and wants you to be creative more than anything. he communicates well, genuinely wants everyone to succeed and is flexible knowing how stressful college can be. if i was an english major i would take him again!

Jeff is probably the best teacher I have ever had. He genuinely cares about the success of his students and moves his schedule (especially during finals) to make sure we are feeling comfortable in not only his class but all of the classes you are taking. The best professor I have ever seen, it is not a problem if you do not participate in classes, but if you do, you will have the best moments. We read one or two stories or poems a week, and the professor talked about it in class. He scored very easily and was not strict in grading. We only had 3 or 4 essay in 3 pages. THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!

Selected the wrong ENGWR course, was supposed to go with ENGWR302. Good news is this course still counts towards my AD-T goal. This was probably the most relaxed online course I have taken since starting my journey. Very personable and relaxed on assignments. No hard deadlines. Very understanding.

The ENGCW 420 class is a poetry workshop, and I had the best time sharing poems with the class. Professor Knorr did a fantastic job facilitating the classes and moving the workshops along professionally. I learned a lot about poetry and great techniques to use while writing my poetry. The class was inspirational; I highly recommend taking it.

Honestly the best professor for English. If you have the chance to enroll in his class, PLEASE DO. He engages with the classes and helps you gain your own interpretation of the works you read. He even encourages you to find your own love for english.

I took Professor Knorr for all of my English/Writing requirements. Great teacher, such a nice guy. Class was super easy. Not a lot of work, so if you do the work you will pass. My only problem was I never got too much feedback on my essays and written assignments. Other than that, easy A!

LOVE Professor Knorr ! He really enjoys interacting/helping students learn. I went through some tough times and he was very accommodating and honestly the best person. He gives clear instructions for due dates and is pretty lenient. I would recommend viewing the zoom classes where he does a lot of group participation. It is worth your time.

Professor Knorr was such a great professor. From the very beginning, he made sure that his students felt welcomed, seen, and safe in his classroom. I took this class online and we had zoom meetings every Tuesday and Thursday. Professor Knorr is the best, honestly his lectures are so interesting and everyone gets to participate. He cares about his students and is very easy to talk to. Very little assignments and a very easy A. I would take him again if I could.
