These students aren't giving Korpik a fair shake. Yes, the exams are difficult. Were there a few things I didn't agree with? Of course. But all in all, it's obvious that he enjoys what he does. His one weakness is control of his class - he needs to be more firm with talkative students during lecture. His dry sense of humor is rather enjoyable.

Straightforward expectations. Read the assigned chapters, take notes during lecture, and study for the tests. Average communication skills and lectures are fairly interesting. Pace is sometimes an issue. He tends to go off on tangents a bit, or takes longer on topics than planned, then has to rush through other material to catch up.

Went off topic too much causing us to miss material that would be on the tests. He would write tests and have questions based on things he THOUGHT he said. We were also tested on lab weather you were there or not. horrible at organizing lecture. worst experience Ive had thus far.

He is nice and doesn't require attendance but there are in class assignments, so if you miss an in class assignment, you won't be able to make it up.. so therefore, attendance is actually mandetory.

Overall is a great teacher. He can sometimes go overboard and the powerpoints are confusing which doesn't always help you on exams. Also very talkative.

Human bio was straight forward, exams were somewhat tough but study atleast a week before. It's based on his slides + lectures. Rarely any homework, only 4-5 easy outside class assignments the whole semster. Pretty easy class if you show up and study 1-2 weeks before exam. I would def recommend this class.

You really have to know everything by heart. There's multiple choice questions and extra credits for quizzes and exams. His teaching and the things he puts on the exam gets confusing. I studied the presentations/textbook all week and received a 61/100 which got discouraging for the next exam. You ou really just have to go beyond the limits.

His lectures made so much sense, although at times it could be a lot of information, if you take notes you will do well! He is very nice, cares about your grades, and is an interesting person (in a good way).

His lectures are very spastic and not clear at all. If you don't understand biology, then you won't get any better in this class. His handwriting on the board is horrible, so most students can't read what he writes. He also does not allow people to take pictures of the notes on the board because "it's better to write it down to learn better."

Lectures are disorganized, instructor is constantly off-topic, study guides don't reflect test material nor does the in class lecture material, instructor basically expects you to be above and beyond with prior knowledge to biology, overall would not recommend.

This professor is so disorganized with his lectures. Also, for tests, it's in-person/in class and on paper and pencil. He will be walking around the class as if this is middle school. Also, you don't learn anything from his notes. The handwriting is so terrible. And it is very annoying that he laughs at his jokes which are not funny. Not recommended

Please if you have the opportunity DO NOT take this class. It was an awful experience that I barely survived. He's extremely unprofessional and frankly I don't understand how he got his degree. He makes students feel dumb, and he will put things on the exam you never learned in class. Turn around now please, for yourself.

He flaunts that only 15% of students pass his class. If you want to learn biology, take anyone else. He makes students feel dumb for not understanding material he didn't teach and gets irritated when asked to repeat questions, despite it being his job. He deducts random points and only gives them back if you catch his mistake and argue your case.

RUN! His lectures are disorganized, he tests material never taught, and he's unapproachable. He makes students feel dumb, giggles at questions in front of the class, and looks at others like you're clueless. His handwriting is like a 6-year-old's, and he writes notes on the board as if only he needs to understand them. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To pass his class, you need to memorize all the lecture notes and know them like the back of your hand, as the exams are just the lectures (so don't miss class!!). I didn't dislike him, I just didn't really connect with his style of teaching, as his class goes as is: take notes of lecture, completely memorize those notes, take exam, repeat.

Jeff was super okay to work with. His lectures are a bit one-dimensional but thats just biology- lots of info. He was easy to approach outside of class, you could tell he cares for students. He wants you to succeed but also to work for it. VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT CLASS PARTICIPATION! Make sure you ask when you don't understand, he loves helping :)

A decent guy, but not the ideal professor. His grading criteria is nonexistent, and he even snapped at a few kids in my class for asking about the grading on our first assignment. He laughs at his own jokes a LOT. He's passionate about the subject, but he's not easy to connect with.

Saddle up to hear all about Korpik's grad school experiences with streams and how many connections he has through academia. I do not think he knows how essays are supposed to be structured if you've ever taken a basic English course so make sure to ask him to specify criteria more than the rubric in the syllabus gives.

People give Jeff a bad wrap. It's probably because the tests can be very confusing. But he's a fair grader: Extra credit on all tests, lowest test grade will be dropped. Labs are easy. Also seems like a good guy at heart. Material is video lecture mainly with a free online textbook as well. Homework: 7 small worksheets, 2 articles, lab reports.
