Dr. Pasley is very enthusiastic about teaching. He genuinely cares about his students and is always looking to help out in any way. His class is very easy. The key points are online activities and timed quizzes. The quizzes allow more than enough time. His lectures are always accompanied by a powerpoint but he manages to make them fun&entertaining.
Dr.Pasley is ver easy going, calm and collected. His class is boring, yet his tests questions come from his slides. Just study his power points and you will pass!
He uses the word "right" after every sentence which gets annoying, his class is extremely easy and all of his test questions can be found online. Nice guy.
VERY BORING PROFESSOR. You want to die of boredom. Every Min passed feels like an hour. Says "RIGHT" after everything-kind of annoying. Easy but a lot of busy work thats easy to forget about with a heavy workload in other classes. GO TO CLASS-IT COUNTS AGAINST YOU.
Cares about his classes. Nice guy.
All he did was read off the powerpoints hardly even teaches the material. Very boring class, test are really hard not enough material to get a good grade in the class if you do bad on the test. We never did labs but only three hands on ones and that was it we did everything on our own. Dont take him!!!
Instructor is very dull. Comes across as caring and motivating but doesn't really care. Likes to take off points for little mistakes. He plays "mind games" and screens all of his answers to questions. He's not what I would call an educator maybe a researcher but not an understading educator. Take someone else.
Omg boringness class but he tries to make it interesting. Overall the class was super easy. He does care about his students success in his class as well as their academic careers so be prepared for a couple lectures. Quizzes come straight from the book. I would RECOMMEND taking him. Attendance is a big part of ur grade so go to class!!!!
I understand a walking class isn't the most exciting thing you want to take, but the instructor gives you good advised about having a healthy life style, and also cares about your success in your other classes. His goal is not fail you, but to help you set goals and meeting them. Attendance is HUGE so show up do your homework and you will do good.
Dr. Pasley is nice, but he is the worst professor I have ever had. He reads directly off the slide, gets angry with students when they ask questions and returns grades at an extremely slow rate. He may be a good exercise science professor but he's a terrible A+P professor!
He is nice and wants students to do well. This class is difficult, be prepared to learn 16 chapters of material! He does give great advice throughout the semester on how to get into nursing, PT, etc. Not sure what the last person who posted is talking about. According to D2L, my class last semester had a C avg and only a couple failed.
A&P is not an easy subject and Dr Pasley lets you know that from the beginning. In order to do well in this class, one must be willing to put in the hours to study. Nothing good comes easy. He's an amazing professor, he uses simple words and lots of examples in teaching. He is also a great motivational speaker. I've recommended him to many people.
If you have to take this class, take it with him. It's super easy and he makes it even easier. The most difficult thing about this class is dealing with his over the top, obnoxious personality.
He ha literally 200 plus power pints he goes over every class. He rushes through powerpoints. He does not explain the material well at all. You have to pretty much teach yourself. And he scares you from the beggining and you will pretty much give up hope on doing well from the beggining.
Very difficult class. He states many times you need to study 3 hours a day to learn the large amount of material. Most people do not want to study 20 hours a week for one class. I don't have an A, but I am not studying that much a day so I am not complaining. Tests are difficult, but material on tests is covered in class. Nice guy.
Dr. Pasley talks a LOT. Your success is his success and He wants you to know it! Lectures are long and he goes through quickly, lots of material to learn. Lab exams are tough, don't wait until the last minute! His power points come straight from the text, so I recommend following along in the book. He post-pones tests and takes a while to grade.
The exams are real tough. He has pop quizzes. He gave bonus on exams and quizzes. Just like others posted he seems to care about the students. Just wish he did not have to go so fast, but I understand there is a lot to learn. You will have to study a lot! I liked the motivation he gave. People complaining don't study. Good person.
Pros, your success is his success, ask questions, try your best, learn from your mistakes and he will see your efforts and gives partial pts. Loved after each assignment he wrote a little note of encouragement and said he believes in you. Cons, he takes FOREVER to grade assignments and talks a LOT but it's all relavent even if it doesn't seem so.
As I mentioned below. His PPTs are key to doing well in this class. I tried to study every slide and then liked them all. I especially payed attention to the bolded, underlined and colored terms. I often found them in the TF section of the exam. You will need to know the material for his tests, recognizing terms will be UN-sufficient!
I took him over the summer, the 8-week course. It was tedious, but if you start from day 1 to study, you're good. His PP come from the book, so the book won't be necessary. His tests are very fair and he does offer extra credit. There's only so much he can go over in lecture, so make sure you understand what points he wants you to know
He has a lot of true or false questions. You have to know the material. He gives a lot of examples in class of how the material can be used in the field. Study hard and you will do well in the class.
Dr. Pasley is SUCH a GREAT_ motivational speaker, HORRIBLE professor. I studied by butt off an average of about 11 hours each week, just for this class. I was enrolled in a total of 14 hrs. This course only counted for 3 of those hours. I Withdrew, and because of that I can focus a little more on my other classes, which I was unable to do before.
Professor Pasley isn't a hard psychology professor, unlike his reviews in anatomy. He's clear on what he wants you to do. Honestly, just read the book and his power points and you won't fail. His tests are not hard and he gives out online quizzes that are super easy. Plus he's really motivational and doesn't like to see people fail!
If you can take anyone else, take them. He is motivational but says the same stuff over an over again. it took us a week (3 classes) to get through the syllabus. with that said, he is so slow and it is annoying; usually will cover 7 slides per class because he goes off on tangents. Oh, and always talks about his wife......... i wouldn't take again.
He is very passionate and enthusiastic about teaching psychology! Sometimes he would go a little off topic, but his personal examples were totally relatable to the material. He made it enjoyable to come to class every day for me by not just reading off powerpoints. Also he taught us good study habits to help us through college. I would take again.
He likes pop quizzes, but nothing to trip you up, he likes to see where each student is and if he needs to go back and hit certain topics again. His powerpoints are your best resource. We had 4 major exams, a couple of case study assignments, but he's a believer in extra credit. Would definitely take him again!!
Dr. Pasley is a great professor. Probably the best professor, at least my favorite, I have taken. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well in his class. His classes are not easy and challenging, but you can do well if you pay attention in class and apply yourself outside of it. I received and A in both Ex. phys and Psych.
I was nervous coming into Pasley's class because of the things I've heard. However, he was hands down one of my favorite professors. Very inspirational and respected by our whole class. He was fair and always pushed back all of our tests & assignments. There were also lots of extra credit given. Study all of the ppts and you will pass the exams.
Dr. Pasley wants all his students to do well & its clear that he enjoys his job. He also likes to give little inspirational talks every class which is nice. Material is kind of dry at times, but you really just need to study his ppts and ask questions on anything confusing. Some writing assignments but the instructions and rubric are clear
"He scares you & you will pretty much give up hope on doing well from the beginning." He rushes through 200 page PP in one class, not really going into detail. He went over the syllabus for 2 hours but somehow forgot to tell us that we didn't need the Pearson code($ wasted). he's a nice guy but his teaching style was HARSH & to FAST PACE for me.
he really cares about his students. His test were challenging because study material was very vague. reading log is for a grade!. the Book is dry (so hard to read). he is very understanding. Get a study group and try your best. and do all extra credit dont wait til the end of semester
Im all honesty, Dr Pasley is the best Professor GGC has to offer. I LOVED his class but it was HARD. I ended up getting 100.68% as my final grade, its very possible to get an A b/c he offers 5 extra credit on each exam. The lecture exam is hard w/no study guides, PP is best bet. I didnt read the book but I hard core studied the PP. Best mentor!!
Great teacher, great guy, great motivational speaker. Tests are based on his PPT's. Bottom line, know everything! Especially what's highlighted in red in the PPT's. He may emphasize in class what to focus on, but his tests will cover a little bit of EVERYTHING. Check bone models out in library and make note cards to review daily! Study the PPT's!!!
Exceptional professor! This class is truly difficult, but I was able to study my butt off and get 100.7% as my final grade. You get extra credit on every test and an extra credit assignment. He is like a mentor to his class, he is real with you & encouraging. I loved this class. I NEVER read the book, I just printed out each PP & read to understand
He will intimidate you the first day of class, but he does care (has a funny way of showing it sometimes). YOU WILL WORK... this class isn't easy and it requires a lot of study time, no joke. Missing lecture isn't wise! He rants a lot and makes you feel inadequate sometimes, but that's just him. Study hard, make PLENTY of time, and you'll pass!
Doesn't go into much detail, basically have to teach the material to yourself. Talks a lot, goes into rants that have nothing to do with the class. No study guide, pop quizzes. THE TEST ARE HARD. You have to know EVERYTHING. Its his way or the high way. VERY NARCISSISTIC!!! 3 test, no final, 2 lab exams and one cased study.
Dr. Pasley is a great professor who really loves and cares for his students. I did not do as well as I should have in this course, but I feel that I gained a great deal of knowledge throughout the semester. He is great at relating anatomy information to everyday life, and he is very passionate about what he teaches.
Im going to tell you what you need to know about Dr. Pasley. Hes a good guy & an excellent professor; however, he will make you work for it. He expects you to give an incredible amount of effort & rightfully so. If you want to be in allied health, then this is stuff you need to know and he will get you there IF YOU PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS & READ.
Email if you have any questions- he is very prompt. Be prepared for pep talks and motivating speeches through out the semester. Turn in time cards and really hold yourself accountable. You must study roughly 20hrs a week to pass AP1. No joke. Very kindhearted professor.
Pasley gets off track a lot, and not just with examples of whatever hes teaching. When hes not where he wants to be with the lectures, its somehow the students fault. You will be required to keep time cards, and he will lose sleep and rant if you don't follow exactly what he wants. This class was an absolute nightmare for me. Take someone else.
Dr. Pasley is an amazing professor. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students futures. He is very corny but in a good way. Hes accessible outside of class, and he makes time for his students. Considering that AP1 is a very challenging course, I feel that Dr. Pasley prepared me as well as he couldve for my future nursing career.
Wants all students to succeed but will not spoon feed you. You need to work and study in his class. Had him during the COVID-19 season and he was genuinely caring and flexible. Tests are straight from the powerpoints but you cannot just memorize, you need to know the material and be able to apply it on the tests.
Dr. Pasley does get off track alot but if he gets off track and there isn't enough time to cover the full material until the test he will push the date of the test back in order to be fair to students
Dr. Pasley is an okay teacher. It was irritating when he would go into his motivational speeches wasting time in class. Make sure to study the powerpoints. Hes not a horrible guy but in terms of teaching the actual material he could do better. He is also insensitive sometimes to students schedules. There is no way I can study 1200 hours in a week.
Reading is fundamental in this class, if you don't read, you don't pass. Pasley will motivate you every day, prepare yourself. Work hard and study, few pop quizzes so go over lecture material the day before class. If you aren't passionate about health sciences, don't take this class, you won't last. Don't give up and make friends!
I had him during the pandemic. The papers help my grade so much! Never seen such a caring professor before and he is willing to help you if you reach out and ask for help! Would definitely take him again without a doubt
I had Dr. Pasley for summer online. He honestly is a really caring professor and was extremely flexible with students. He does tend to go off track, BUT he always made time for questions if students had any issues. I enjoyed his online class! If you follow his directions you'll be solid :)
He's an ok guy apart from constant bragging over previous classes and personal accomplishments. Rather than lecture over material, he'd rather motivate you and go on rants the entire class. If you like a professor who cares more about your future than you, and makes you feel stupid for any question you ask, take him. Course is tough but he tries...
Dr Pasley comes off mean and strict but he is nice and understanding. His classes are very lecture heavy but his power points go with the tests and you do not really need a textbook for this course. He always gives a couple of essays but they are not too long.
PLEASE take someone else. He talks way too much in a way that will tear students down. Grading criteria is unclear and all points come straight from lecture exams & useless popquizzes. Advice: get a planner, study EVERYDAY for a 3 hours with breaks in between. DO not print out ppts, its a waste, use multiple methods: ppts, quizlet, & UTUBE vids!!!
Pasley has many shortcomings; he lacks professionalism! He is the type of professor that is unable to take constructive criticism. He will threaten you to lower your grade if you ever bring up any concerns. Barely gives out the grading rubrics, never outlines what he really wants. No real hands-on experience was really provided. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
So he may have never liked me, one day I voiced my concerns. He yelled at me and accused me of cheating. I used a scratch sheet of paper, to make sure I spelled everything correctly. In the end, he did nothing because he knew I was not cheating. The man took every chance he got to belittle me. He is awful, he teaches with NO passion!
He is a fantastic professor and gives extra points on each exam and quiz.
He is NOT an excellent professor! He makes Anatomy harder than what it needs to be. He says hes preparing you but its all a lie its just for his ego! I noticed a few of my classmates were being degraded. I really dont like the way he talks to people when they ask questions. The man is rude, he was threatening people! Take someone else!!
The teaching of Dr. Pasley is an acquired taste. He is a tough grader with high expectations and if you do not put in the work you will not pass. With that being said, all of his tests come straight from his powerpoints and if you study hard, youll be ok. He genuinely cares for his students and wants them to succeed. He often pushes back tests too.
We had very few quizzes. Allowed the class to decide by vote to move the exam date for more study time. You will have to work hard to earn a good grade. Very organized. Gave great anecdotes and examples to remember the material. He is very motivational and cares about his students. Enjoyed the class. Great professor! Wish he taught AP II.
Professor Pasley truly does want all of his students to be successful. The class itself is lecture heavy, but Pasley takes his tests straight from the powerpoints and will highlight the important topics in class. Participation is extremely important in his class, and if you study consistently and show up, you should do well. He means well.
He is very hard on you but helps you get the material down. He pushes and tries to get you to where you need to be. You have to be ready to study hard and put the time in. Overall a very good professor.
Dr. Pasley is one of the best professors I have ever had. He wants each and everyone of his students to succeed and never fails to remind you of that every day. Class was very lecture heavy and required a lot of time outside of class to study to prepare for exams. Exams were very fair and shows a reflection of how well you studied.
There is no doubt he's tough. Class is lecture heavy and he can occasionally side track, but his intentions are to motivate his students. He is also organized and is one of the BEST professors I have ever taken. His class forced me to become a better student and it completely prepared me for my semesters after - because it doesn't get easier.
Professor Pasley has changed my view of a good professor. His class inspired me, and his lectures were relevant to my profession. Though the lectures were long and packed with information, he always told us his expectations. Without a doubt his instructions worked, I did the time cards, studied the ppt, put forth my best effort, and received an A.
I have never met such an egotistical professor throughout my school career. Dr. Pasley literally spent two days talking nothing about his accomplishments, and how great he is with his teachings. There are barely any assignments and would berate the entire class about how unimportant our lives are and that we need to focus on school.
I have a degree from UGA and I'm now going into nursing. Dr. Pasley is better than any professor I had during my entire undergraduate experience at UGA. Be ready to study. Dr. Pasley makes the lectures interesting and grades exceptionally fairly. If you put in the work this course is very doable. You cannot study the night before for this class.
Centers his class on studying, which is very important for both A&P 1 and A&P 2. Doesn't assign many homework assignments, but wants your focus to be on studying the information. Extremely generous with extra credit. DO THE END OF SEMESTER EXTRA CREDIT!!!!
He the type of guy to make you study 100% of the material and test you on 30%. All exams are 100+ questions. No outline/guide. No practice material that pertains to his test. Reads straight from the PowerPoints. To do well, you have to drop everything and put his class first. No clear indication for anything as it is fair game
Dr. Pasley is just one of those teachers you should have in undergrad. He will motivate you to study, learn, and retain the material. The class is lecture heavy but he gives you ways to remember by telling you real-life examples! Not only that but he'll help you in your professional careers, esp those on the nursing, PA, AA or any Pre-Health track!
Dr Pasley is a great professor who is very encouraging and wants the best for his students. He gives very helpful tips as to how succeed in his class and others. I would suggest listening to his advice about printing the PowerPoint slides out. It makes it easier to follow along while taking notes in class and allows you to do well on the tests.
Dr. Pasley is genuinely an amazing Professor who cares about his students' success both inside and outside of the classroom. His engaging teaching style, along with relatable life experiences, makes complex material easy to grasp. Consistent attendance, and studying of his PowerPoints will pave the way for your success. I wholeheartedly recommend!
He is a great motivational person and a very clear-cut guy, but he focused more on the good and the creme-de-la-creme students, not the struggling students at all.
Dr. Pasley is genuinely one of the most encouraging professors Ive ever encountered in my entire k-12/college years. But only take him if you can handle studying a minimum of 14 hours a week (probably more). Also, he'll interrupt you a LOT, but its cuz hes lowkey deaf so dont take it personally. Honestly just do what he says to do and youll succeed
Dr. Pasley is a great professor! Participate to learn, make study groups, and study a lot!!! Studying for 2 hours a week won't get you an A. You have to put in the work!!!!
Dr. Pasley is a very kind and understanding professor. He provides powerpoints which will help you for the exam. As long as you put enough time and effort and attend class, you will do fine.
Dr. Pasley is a great professor! He is very passionate on doing whatever he can to help you succeed! I took him for A&P 1 which is a very difficult class, but he provides you with the information needed be successful. His exams come from the lecture powerpoints and he makes it easy by hinting on what can be on the exam. Definitely take him!!
DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! This professor will go on 30 min. rant on how everything you do will never be good enough. He will only test you on 30% of what he taught and expect you to drop everything for his class. He gives exams over 6 chps, each 180+ slides, take another professor if you actually want to learn instead of memorizing everything.
Dr. Pasley is motivational and kind. The class material is very organized. He offers multiple opportunities for extra credit. The class is difficult and you will have to study a lot. You will learn a lot and his examples help you remember. He genuinely cares about students.
I was nervous walking into A&P1. It is the weedout class for nursing students. Be prepared to spend time learning and memorizing. This class is about balance and if you can do that you will get an A. Come to lecture, listen, he gives hits, do practice questions. ASK QUESTIONS. Take DR. Pasley's advice and you will succeed.
Dr. Pasley cares about his students success. If he sees you working and you are struggling, he will help you. You are learning about the HUMAN BODY, there is naturally going to be a lot of information. The joy of learning about the body helped a lot. Be ready to put in time for your grade, and most of all ENJOY the knowledge.
A professor who cares deeply for the success of his students, those motivational lectures in the beginning matter! He does his best to make lectures engaging so that you can retain more information. A&P1 is a tough class, be sure to study a lot outside of it and ask questions!!! He'll help out and make sure you understand the content fully.
Dr.Pasley was an amazing professor! He's very clear during the semester the amount of effort that needs to be put into his class and if you put it in, you get the results you want. His lectures are long but he makes them interesting and what is on the PowerPoint is what is on the test. No surprises and the main concern in the class is studying.
loves to hear himself talk, provides no sources of study guides "the ppts are ur study guide" like what??? SURPRISE quizzes to "help" but just deteriorate ur grade if do poorly, never stays on topic switches to his personal life mid lecture. never again
TAKE HIS ADVICE!!! Dr. Pasley is an amazing professor who always encourages his students. As long as you study, take notes, ask questions, and collaborate with your peers, you will pass this class. He has pop quizzes but they dont weigh much and help you understand what you need to focus on. All his tests/exams come directly from the powerpoints.
This is not an easy class, so be prepared to dedicate hours to studying. Dr. Pasley is very straightforward and encouraging. He tries his best to simplify the content. I did have to create my own study guides for this class. He does start talking about other things alot during lecture, but if you listen, you'll learn that he does it for a reason.
The class is study-heavy, but the workload is designed to help you fully understand and retain the material. If you're willing to put in the effort, you'll not only succeed but also leave with a strong grasp of the content. Highly recommend if you want a professor who is both encouraging and dedicated to helping students grow!
Dr. Pasley is honestly an amazing professor. Super caring about his students & wants everyone to succeed, regardless of major (I'm nursing). Yes the class is tough but FAIR & helps you grow! Future classes feel easier because of how well he prepares you. Do great here, do great everywhere else! Highly recommend if you want to genuinely learn.
Amazing and inspirational professor despite the difficulty of the class. He's very flexible with deadlines. He sets you up really well for the future via this class but also certain assignments like time cards. You will have to attend class every day and study hard, but he is available to help you. Definitely would take him again, highly recommend!
I believe he really cares about the success of his students. There are 16 chapters for this class, so you will need to study, but you will learn a lot. He allows the class to move due dates if you ask and the class votes to move it or keep the original date. Very fair. Overall great professor! Wish he taught APII!
Professor Pasley is incredibly motivating and encouraging. His anatomy & physiology class requires focus, but his teaching style is thorough and clear. You do have to study, but he gives you the tools to succeed. His class pushed me to do better in all my courses—I've kept a 4.0 GPA since.
I took this professor twice, and his teaching improved greatly. He fosters open communication, is open to feedback, explains concepts clearly, and provides great examples. He adjusts test dates as needed and acknowledges diverse learning styles. He truly cares about student success, offering resources for interviews and career planning.
Dr. Pasley is an EXCELLENT instructor. He really knows his material, gives clear and thorough lectures, his ppts teach you everything you need to know for his exams (no surprises or tricks), gives plenty of opportunities to redeem your grade, offers so much support and motivates you daily to succeed! He's truly the best and I loved going to class!!
Dr. Pasley is passionate about what he teaches and motivates the class every period! He always emphasizes what to study from the lecture for each chapter. Even though attendance isn't required, I highly recommend attending each class if possible! There's also quizzes, which don't count a lot toward your grade, that help prepare for the exams!
AMAZING PROFESSOR. I highly recommend Dr. Pasley. He is incredibly passionate about anatomy and his students. He's a yapper, but he is so encouraging and supportive. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and is excellent at explaining. I greatly enjoyed his class; he is hands-down the best AP1 professor!!
Dr. Pasley is one of the most supportive and encouraging professors I've had. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His lectures are clear, and he explains the material in a way that makes it easier to understand. He's also very approachable and willing to give advice when you need it. Highly recommend taking his class!
Dr.Pasley is an awesome professor! Anatomy is a content-heavy course, but he breaks down the information while he lectures & emphasizes what you'll be tested on. He also incorporates real-world examples to help with retention. He also provides multiple external resources, study methods, and advice from previous students to help you ace the class.
Professor Pasley is an outstanding instructor who explains complex A&P topics clearly. He's passionate, approachable, and truly wants students to succeed. His class strengthened my understanding and boosted my confidence, leaving me more prepared for a future in healthcare.
Good professor, material was heavy. He was very helpful tho. He rambles about his past students who have made it to nursing & talks ab personal life at times, can take up a lot of lecture time. Can be inspirational tho. pop quizes after each chapter, study log hw, hw packets, 4 exams, and there's 1 extra credit at the end of semester.
Honest to God, I am a nursing student at GGC and Dr. Pasely is hands down the best professor i've ever had. I have learned more from his class than any other class in my life. He teaches skills that work. If you are lucky enough to get in his class-- Listen to everything he says and you will do great. I will never forget the things he taught me.
He makes students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. Beyond academics, he cares about students' success. He goes the extra mile by sharing resources for interviews. His support not only inspires us but also makes the learning experience engaging. He is supportive of our academic and future professional endeavors.
