Spring's lectures are far better than Deaton's and his exams are more fair as well. The exams aren't too bad as long as you memorize the powerpoints and look over old exams. If you don't have old exams the class will be condiderably harder as about 75% of his questions come straight from old tests.

Took Dr. spring for Bio 121 in the Spring of 2015. Seriously if you take this class and fail, your just stupid or not ready for college in general Tests are NOT hard, if you study, and yes you need to study (we're not in h.s. anymore ya idiots). Do online hw(many test questions come from hw), go to class, study power points, and you'll do fine.

As long as you read the chapters and pay attention during lectures, this class is very straightforward and easy to pass.

Took Dr. Spring for Bio 110.. Ill put it as nice as i can.. If you fail this class drop out of college, you are not ready. As an engineering major, this class is EASY! Yes, you are going to have to study, and yes you are going to have to go to class! Come on people, this isn't high school anymore! Study in advance and do hw and you will do fine!

Spring is an amazing professor but the tests come more from the online homework than his lectures (his tests are hard) but you'll do fine if you study you mastering bio homework

I was failing literally all semester because I didn't check my email to know when he would put up an assignment, and I failed all the tests because I had no idea they just consisted of the iClicker and homework questions. I think the class would have been a lot easier if I would have payed more attention and did the homework.

His tests are very hard so if your strong suit isn't Biology then i wouldn't take this class. If you do take this class remember homework questions because some of them are on the tests. Also, reading the book to understand the material is a good idea.

If you go to class, do your homework, and actually study for the tests (only 4 exams), you can definitely get a B or a C in this class. I received an A, but it definitely did not come easy. I went to every single SI Session (Thank God for Chris Clark!) and studied a lot! It's not easy, but if you attend class, you will do fine!

As a non-bio major, this was by far my hardest class. Not only are the tests tough, but the homework is graded on accuracy and cannot be attempted after the due date. Avoid this class if you're not looking to study for hours on a class not even in your major

His homework assignments are only about once every two weeks, but they are long when he gives them. He also only gives 3 tests and a final, which most of the time come straight from the homework. Just study the homework questions a lot and you should be set for the tests.

A lot of the material on the tests are barely grazed over in the material he teaches, so it's really hard to get a bearing on what's important to study and what isn't. The tests are all multiple choice, and he assigns about 1 chapter of homework every 2 weeks, each takes a couple of hours to finish. Also used an iClicker and online code $80 extra

get your hands on his old tests and you're sure to recieve an A. if not, just study all the homework questions and you'll probably get a B. gives short lectures but u must go to class because he gives quizzes at the beginning and end of classes

Basically I gave my Iclicker to a friend and only showed up on test days. The homework is the most important part of this class since majority of the questions on the test come directly from it. Easy pass. Participation points(iclicker) and hw 200 points. 4 Tests 100 points a piece. Final is not cumulative!

Seriously one of the best professors I've had!! Make sure you do the homework and study that because that's basically all the test questions. And get all the iclicker questions because that's how he takes attendance. Not sure why people say he's so hard. Just try. He's super sweet especially when he sees effort. Wish I could take him again!

If you pay attention, take notes, and do the homework you will pass. He also tells a lot real world stories related to the topic on hand.

Would take again

ok this class is easy. just showing up to class with your clicker gets you points, and getting the questions right is a bonus point for each one. his tests are mainly from the homework, so just review those and you're fine. i stopped paying attention to his lectures and still made an A because of the homework tbh. boring but very very easy.
