This was the funnest class I had this semester. Only had to write 3 essays, all current pop culture topics. Had plenty of time to finish each. Had lots of feed back from Jeff on each essay. His weekly readings were great modern topics. I would highley recommend this professor for anyone who struggles with English!
Great teacher. He is very laid back. If you are not an English person, his class is the the best. He is very helpful to direct you in the areas you need improvement in. I highly recommend this teacher.
Very helpful and will work with you when faced with extenuating circumstances. Attend his classes or he will drop you by a letter grade.
amazing teacher! did not have much interest in this class before i went in, but that changed after the first day. i learned so much and he has very interesting lectures and i love his teaching style.
Great teacher. Took the 8 week Comp II class and it was exactly what an 8 week class should be! Does not bog you down with busywork, but still gives enough so you learn and develop. Lets you pick your final paper topic. Understands we have lives outside of school. So far, one of my favorite college professors.
Easy class. Easy grader. Kind of boring but it's an easy A. Gotta go to class though cuz in class assignments counts towards your overall grade and there's no makeup. Only one large research paper as main project.
Awesome teacher! Likes to show videos in his class, at least he does in Academic Strategies. Great guy to work with and very helpfull and understands work schedules!
He is very nice and extremely helpful. Overall, he is my favorite professor at TCC (so far).
By far the best teacher I've ever had. I was really dreading attending this class before classes started but that changed quickly. First half of the semester he spent explaining what would be required and helped us develop the skills we'd need when we reached the writing portion of the class. Easy grader and is always there to help.
SUCH A GREAT PROFESSOR. I loved this class. I am not a great writer but i got a B+. Verrrry funny and interesting. TAKE HIS CLASS. You wont be sorry. So so great. Never used my books and still got a great grade. did 4 papers and he used a TON of movies and slide shows. We had a consistent schedule so you knew what you were doing. HE was AWESOME
AWESOME! I was really nervous about the class because I don't write well, but he is an easy grader & very helpful. We had 4 papers & I got all B's. I was advised to take him and I don't regret the decision now I'm advising you to TAKE HIM you won't be sorry. His class fills up fast so enroll early.
Had him for the mandatory Strategies class for Tulsa Achieves. Incredibly easy. You literally don't have to do anything but show up. The midterm took 4 minutes and the final took 10. Very helpful when it comes to studying tactics and time management skills. Helps with lots of things. He is also very, cery sweet! I recommend him, completely.
Awesome teacher!! I would highly suggest you taking him! only 4 essays and a couple in class assignments!
Mr. Stuckey was very helpful, easy and clarified the material. He used powerpoints and had interesting class discussions. The students wrote 4 essays and had 2 tests. With the test, he told us the questions and answers the week before the test. We watched alot of interesting vidoes clips. If you need Comp. I or II, take the class with Mr. Stuckey.
Loved the class! He prepares very interesting material for class and uses relevant video clips. He explains the material well, requires 4 essays (one could be a poster presentation) and reviews the info on the 2 tests. The reasonable assignments allow you to take other classes too. He is helpful, available, and works with students who need help.
Loved the class! He is interesting and uses great videos clips. He has 4 essays (one can be a poster presentation). He reviews for the 2 tests. The reasonable assignments make it easy to take other classes too. He is great with students who need extra help.
Awesome teacher! Definitely recommend that you take him. He is very in depth and explains everything.
Great teacher. He changes up lesson plans each semester though. Extremely helpful and clear on what he wants.
This profeesor is really great at his job, not only is he just a good teacher but you can also tell he cares about how well you do and wants to help you do the best you can even after leaving his class. I gave him a 1 on book use but thats because I never used the book. He will suggest helpful sources to read in the book but I did well without it.
Stuckey truly cares about his students and their success. great teacher and great person in general. I would recommend him for anyone!
The best teacher ever. Best teaching style. Someone who truly cares about education. Someone who actually wants you to pass. On top of that, he's there to help you when you need it. Everytime I come to class I'm alert and excited to be there. Wish he can teach every subject! He's AWESOME.
I had Professor Stuckey for a summer blended class (meaning I went to class once a week and turned postings in online once a week). This was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. And I've taken Comp. I and College Algebra already. The workload is LOW. I never had homework. All you need to do is turn the weekly posts in, and you'll be fine! :)
he is a wonderful teacher! take him he really cares about your grade and is extremely helpful.
He is super nice and very clear what he expects on three papers. Not a busy class but you will learn a lot. Good personality professor.
I took his academic strategies course and can't wait to take him for comp 2. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE. He's so laid back & he uses videos and things that make class easy. You do need the textbook for academic strategies. 3 tests, one is open note, one is multiple choice, and the last one is your final. 3 easy essays also.
Had Mr. Stuckey for CompII and he is great. We had to read 3 200 page books on popular culture and write a book review on each and we did a couple of in class writings. He is very helpful and very clear on what he is looking for in your writing. His class fills up fast. I registered late and lucked into his class. Highly recommend Mr. Stuckey!
A Gentleman and a Scholar. Great Professor! Super Nice and not a grammar Nazi like most English professors who make students feel stupid for missing a few commas. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
EXCELLENT TEACHER!!!!! Mr. Stuckey has to be one of the easiest teacher ever for Composition. you have to read 2 books for his class and do a chapter summary & evaluation each week the final is also an essay its over the topic of the book each semester the topic changes this year was about food :) i highly recommend taking his class!
Mr. Stuckey is an awesome professor! He truly cares about his students and wants you to do well. I was very nervous about taking Comp I but he made me feel more at ease. This is not a blow off class but if you just put in a little effort and show him you're trying then you will pass with an AB! 4 essays and a few in class summaries. TAKE HIM!!!!!
Professor Stuckey is amazing and he's pretty funny. He's very helpful and is always there to help his students. His class is 4 essays, 2 portfolios and you write summaries over articles and videos. It is an easy A as long as you do the work. I highly recommend him.
Professor Stuckey is an amazing and his class is interesting! He is always willing to help and he is pretty funny. The class is 4 essays, 2 portfolios and you write summaries over videos and articles. His class is easy to get an A in as long as you put time and effort into your work. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
Make sure you read the pages assigned! They are not just busyuseless work, they actually REALLY help you! He also made you feel comfortable enough to contact him for help if needed. The only thing that I did not like was that he likes to assign discussion posts, and if you don't do them, it will add up and drop your grade fast.
If you put in the effort he will see it and grade you fair. I didn't really try on the first two papers and got C's on them. On the final project (10 page research paper) I worked my butt off on it and he gave me a A on it. He is always available and helps in anyway he can. He's hard but I would take him again.
It's COMP II so you should be expecting to write quite a bit. We had two large book reviews and a 10-15 page final paper. He was always accessible and willing to help. He will even proof read your papers and point out mistakes so you can correct them for a much better grade. I hate writing but he made me enjoy this class.
Taking Comp 1 was a bit nerve racking. However, he is a good teacher. But he was not always CLEAR on his assignments which made it a bit harder to understand. All in all he does want you to know the concept and write as a college student!
He is an amazing professor. Had him for both Composition classes. Easy grader.
Didn't like this class at all. He was all over the place with the topics and super critical of your writing. You better be ready for college level or you get left behind.
Class is fine but he expects you to read two books which sucks. You also have to write reviews on them which I still don't really understand. He provides handouts but they are long and confusing. He is really picky about commas and paragraph development. I never received more than a C and I did better in high school. Might try someone else.
SHOUT OUT TO STUCKEY! No doubt in my mind the best Comp professor. If you're smart you take this professor. Assignments are made to test your skills and Stuckey will always be there to help! Today was the last of class and I'm going to miss it. It was great being taught by such an awesome professor.
He is the BEST professor ever! Easy A (submit ur work on time n u will be fine). Took academic strategies, comp I, and Comp II. Gives enough time for essays. very helpful.
If you come to class prepared and do the work, you shouldn't have a problem. He is easy to work with and respects you as a student. It's not an easy class, but this is college, right?
Professor Stuckey is a great instructor. This is comp 2, so yes there's a big work load. He provides feedback on every writing assignment and is a very fair grader. For each essay, there are detailed instructions on exactly what he is expecting of you. Would definitely recommend.
I dont know why everyone likes him. He expects to much from your writing!!! This is TCC not Harvard!!!! Hate this class!!!
Mr. Stuckey was great! I had him for Comp 1 and 2 when I was a senior doing concurrent enrollment. I got A's in both classes. It was never too hard to handle. Just stay with reading and put in effort on essays and portfolios.
Mr. Stuckey was a great professor. Yes he makes you work for an A, but he is very clear on what he expects. As long as you put forth the effort it is easy to receive an A in this course. Take Him!
Professor Jeffrey Stucky are amazing, he's there for you when you need help. Fast reply to Email.
Professor Stuckey is amazing. Fairly flexible and his instructions are not too difficult to follow. As long as you can write well, stay on subject and turn in your homework (which I didn't keep up with very well..) you should be able to pass his class. The book is necessary to passing though so get it before the store runs out of copies.
Professor Stuckey is very nice and clear about his expectations but my only problem was that all we did was read about food. It's not as exciting as it seems. His grading is pretty fair. Though he got behind on grading sometimes but he made up for it by letting us watch a documentary instead of writing an essay. Pretty fair class overall.
I have Mr. Stuckey for Comp II and I absolutely love him. His main topic is over health and nutrition and he makes you read two books and then do a book review over them (not difficult at all). I'm so happy I got him as my teacher. Take this class. Seriously.
I took a blended class Comp 1 course with Stuckey. We read articles from a book and wrote analysis papers at least once a week from them, and I found it very convenient that it was all in one book. He gave back feedback and what you did wrong and how to improve yourself for the next paper. I enjoyed the class, even if he canceled six times.
Professor Stuckey is a very nice man and his class topic is food and nutrition. I was skeptical of this at first, however it made for an interesting class as opposed to what you would expect as the traditional comp topics. He was very helpful on papers but they were rather long as should be expected. Take him you won't regret it.
I had Stuckey for both Comp I and Comp II this past year. After being an AP student in high school, I found these classes to be a breeze. The only difficult assignment I encountered all year was the 12 page research essay. Attendance is not mandatory, and class is often canceled. Stuckey is very helpful, clear, and fair. I would highly recommend!
Never made more than a C on anything. I did better in high school. The class is about food. Some of the readings are interesting. He kept bugging me about sentence variety. He never explained it to me. Not a good way to start college.
I cant believe he made us write some long boring reserch paper and read some boring books. Some of my friends took other classes were they didnt do this much. NOT FAIR!!!!!!!
Gives clear expectations on what to write. Gives plenty of self improvement opportunities. Fair Grader. Would take again.
I generally hate reading and writing but Professor Stuckey used a topic that was relevant and you could expand on! This helps. He gives feedback on all his papers and sends links to stuff to help better you!
Best professor ever!!! His class was very easy just a lot of work. He gives amazing feedback and if you try it's an easy A. I would really recommend him.
Took Stuckey for Comp 1 & Comp 2. I was stupid in Comp 1 and didn't take it as serious as I should have: not doing homework or reading etc. and almost didn't pass but barely got a C. Comp 1 is mainly basics of English, Comp 2 is more analysis and writing. Took him for Comp 2 and got an A. Do your reading assignments and you will be just fine.
I took jeffrey Stuckey last year. I received an A in the class. Awesome teacher. DEFINITELY recommend him!
Stuckey is a really great teacher, and overall you do not have to write as many things. However, those three papers and midterm really matter. He is a tough grader and getting an A takes a lot of work. But he isn't impossible and will work with you to better your writing projects. Just be prepared to read and write about food.
Mr. Stuckey's Honors Academic Strategies class was honestly one of my favorite for the semester. All coursework was centered around the student and helped the student learn more about themselves. Stuckey was very kind. I was pleased to find out he teaches Comp as well!
Stuckey really cares about his students. I'd suggest taking his Honors Academic Strategies class. He mainly lectures during class, but they are always interesting and group involved. We read two books over the semester which had a paper for each. He is extremely good at emailing back and always has his door open if you need to talk with him.
Mr. Stuckey is a fair grader and gives helpful feedback for the first few weeks. However, his class is by no means easy and dedication is needed for a good grade. Sentence structure variation is a necessity to accomplish that goal. Overall, Mr. Stuckey is willing to help students improve their writing and it's possible to do well in his class.
Professor Stuckey's class is centered around food and nutrition. This doesn't sound like a bad thing until you have to write a 10 page paper about food. Professor Stuckey is nice and is willing to help out if needed. However, be ready to work for an A.
hated this class i had to drop because it was to much reading also he never gave anything more than D on my work when i made 100's in hi school i think he is to picky plus the class is about food which im like who cares really dont take him
Very critical grader. Very condescending and full of himself. Nothing but reading and writing essays over the reading.
Mr. Stuckey is a quality teacher & overall human being. He grades fairly and explains each paper well. I've taken him for Comp 1 & 2 and he has been great! There are some long papers but if you use the questions from class they should be easy enough to write! Extra credit for donating canned food to the TCC food pantry at the end of the semester!
Great professor. Very easy to work with and has good insight.
After all, it is Comp 1, expect a couple of pages of homework weekly. Professor Stuckey gives great feedback and had worked around everyone's schedule this past semester. Good communication as well. He will grade your paper as best as he can. Highly recommended.
Mr. Stuckey wants you to succeed, so it makes the class very encouraging. He is always available to answer questions. There is a lot of reading and writing. If you follow the guidelines you should be fine. I took Comp 1 and 11 with him. Learned a lot about food. Left the class more knowledgeable. Class is a lot of work if full time but enjoyed it.
Mr. Stuckey is very approachable and wants his students to succeed. It's an easy A if you work hard. Highly recommend.
Very good professor for comp, he is very approachable, and wants his students to succeed. I had to do A LOT of papers, reading, and summaries, but what can you expect from a comp class? He is a fair grader and if you work hard it will be an easy A. He gives extra credit sometimes too!
Was there a lot of papers? Plenty. But, it helped me develop my sense of writing. I loved the course content, which surrounded the subject of sustainability. He is an incredible professor and I recommend him to everyone interested.
Good teacher
Mr. Stuckey is a great teacher, and his expectations are high. But, as long as you participate and ask questions, you will be good.
He is the nicest most thoughtful professor ever.
Stuckey is a really good professor. I took this class during the summer on a fast track pace. Sometimes it was hard because he does give a good amount of work for a summer class, but he is very helpful and I actually learned so much taking this class. I would recommend him to anyone taking this class.
Very passionate about helping students correct common writing errors. Spends time helping students and responds quickly to emails. If you are not willing to take the time to write your papers and fix mistakes don't take this class, it will take time. I would also suggest starting your final research paper early in the semester.
HE ROCKS. I took his 8 week summer course. So easy. We didnt use a book at all. Just watched movies and wrote papers on them.
Not much one can say negatively about Mr. Stuckey. Do the work, pass the class easy as pie unless you dont show up.
Professor Stuckey is a really understanding and empathetic instructor. His lectures are short and fun. He is very helpful in answering questions and helping students become better writers. Personally, I like receiving lots of constructive criticism for my essays, but Professor Stuckey is lenient on my papers.
I took Comp I and II with him, he gave a great grading criteria. I put "so many papers" because that is all you do in that class, but what else do you expect? He does give some extra credit. And he does promise to round your grade up if you are on the boarder by the end of the semester.
I took this class online! He was great, very organized and cared about you. He sets up a great checklist for every week. I loved this class!!
Maybe 2 hours work per week minus lectures. Easy 500 word discussion per week+ comments. Midterm and finals were hard, but easy if you kept up with reading. Was in online honors-8wk. Simple layout, great teacher, very helpful class and teacher. -a typical A student. Do the work and dont do too many shortcuts and youll be fine. Keep up w/ book!
I took Stuckey's international film class and it was fairly easy, there's an older film every week along with a 300+ discussion post over it, then every 4 films you need to write an 1-2 page essay over one. I took it as a humanities class, and he graded really easy, I would 100% take it again
Very easy online course and good organization. All work is organized via weekly sections in four separate units. Deadlines were somewhat soft and would be extended for COVID, sickness, or other mishaps. Email correspondence was extremely quick and I was never left hanging. Highly recommended professor for online!
work is light but grading is heavy
Gives amazing feedback! Extremely helpful and insightful on difficult subjects, he goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated in his class, amazing teacher, best I've ever had!
Professor Stuckey was a great professor and was laid back if you missed a deadline. He let me complete a few things that were past the deadline. Definitely recommend taking this professor! He also replied to my emails quickly!
Good teacher, class is based on essays but allows you to fix them for a better grade.
Had him for international film and he is a great professor and lets you make up work. The films were great and the midterm and final was very easy.
I love him. he is the sweetest and finding a professor like him isn't easy. his class is an easy A and if you don't get one idk what to tell you. i had him for comp 2 and he is so so so understanding
Really nice guy, has better things to do in his life than give you a hard time over something simpe. Extended due dates a lot and was a fairly easy grader.
I took Professor Stuckey for an 8-week comp 2 course, and I will say I am so glad I took it with him. He provided a classwork theme for the semester that was actually interesting, gave ample time for the work we had, and was a very kind grader. He understands not everyone is an expert. There were a few papers, but he was very easy in his grading.
Great teacher. Cares a lot about the students and really wants you to pass. Multiple chances to make your grade better and replies super fast if you ever need him. You have to watch the film each week and then post a discussion.14 discussions and a final paper are super easy and the expectations are easily met if you just do the work.
I have taken this professor for Comp 1, Comp 2, and international film. He is by far the best professor I have had. Besides the course work being straight forward, this professor genuinely cares about you. I've sat in his office hours plenty of times and apart from allowing any questions for the work, he aims to help you as an individual.
Professor Stuckey is a thoughtful and engaging instructor. His class has a fair amount of writing, but he provides great feedback. Using unstuck AI, ChatGPT, and the free textbook helped me ace this course. Definitely take this class if you can.
I absolutely loved Professor Stuckey!! I loved him so much, I'm taking another one of his classes. He offers great extra credit opportunities and truly cares about his students. He is also very flexible with deadlines, as he understands things sometimes happen. He was truly great, always giving great feedback and quickly giving out grades.
Great professor that gives good feedback. Encourages skill building over grade seeking.
Professor Stuckey cares about his students and does his best to get them to explore their creative side of writing. I struggle with writing, but this course was enjoyable because it had good stories to go with each theme he provided. I would take his class again if I had to. Definitely recommend.
runs a STRICT program when it comes to late work, first week of class, I was unable to turn in two assignments. I locked in and got a 100 on every following assignment yet still finished with an 88 percent, I am wrecked
