You have to come in to class to pass. I actually didn't even buy a book the whole semester, the test comes directly from the powerpoint which he puts on blackboard to look at. Theres a quiz at every lab but it's exactly what you should have done from the last lab, and he always gives the answers at the end of lab. I got an easy A imo.

Took his class awhile ago and Prof Tsao is actually a pretty interesting professor. He teaches pretty well and you can see him doing his best. He uses some humor to try to make you remember certain points and his study guides for exams are a must do in order to pass and get an A. He does offer extra credits in exams and they are easy if you studied

Mr Tsao, is such a great proffesor! He is extremely interesting and entertaining. His lectures are very animated and he gets his point across. If you want to learn Biology in depth and if you are a Bio major or Nursing major ; i defiantly recommend you taking this class with Jeffery as the instructor. Complete all the study ?s and read the lectures

His class is not easy or hard it's in between. He wants his students to pass that's why he puts test answers in the readings and homework. His labs are hard sometimes, they can be confusing. You have to come to class if you miss a certain amount you will be dropped. You have to put a lot of time into his class like we don't have other classes......

I was a little hesitated the first 2 weeks taking him but I do not regret it, He is a amazing teacher. He actually teaches you and you learn something new everyday of his class. Your not going to get a easy A you have to actually study and try. He always makes time to help his students before or after class. I wish he taught Chemistry too

Prof. Tsao really wants everyone to pass his class (85-100%A) He sacrifices a lecture before an exam to review material with students and his tests are mostly multiple choice. Does give a lot of homework though and expects reading to be done before lectures. Lectures are really long though, definitely makes use of every minute.

His lectures were clear and concise. He also gave easy ways to remember the material. Having the homework due before the lecture make it easier to understand and not wonder what's going on.

He teaches well and lectures are easy to understand. We had a hw assignment due before every lecture day and we review all the hw a few days before the exam, which is extremely helpful because the short answer part on the exam was on the hw. Read the book before lecture, study early for the exams (not a few days before D:) and you'll pass (:

Mr. Tsao really cares about his students, and wants you to succeed in his class. He does assign homework every week but they help ALOT in exams, he goes over material for a whole class before exams, and they are so easy if you study for them. I looked forward to going to his class, he made it easy to understand material and learning was fun.

Great professor. Lecture heavy but easy to follow. Prepare to study, min of 8 hours weekly, I'm serious. This is not a hard class just a lots of material, lecture, test, quiz and hw. Your grade on the exam really will reflect your study habits. Professor Tsao is an amazing teacher and I wish he taught all science subject. Clear, concise, educated.

The best teache! he gives homewirk everyday with the most important points of the day lecture, which prepares you for the exam. Very organized teacher, do the homework seriously you will get an A for sue, and read the concepts on the book for deep understanding and an A+ ;). I wish all teachers use his method.

Prof Tsao is one of the rare gems in Chabot! He will definitely make you to study to be able to pass the exams. I've taken my Bio31 & ANAT1 w/ him. These are tough science classes. He provides class review out of lecture time which shows that he cares & wanted student to pass. He is strict with grading & don't give extra credits. Have to study hard

Science classes are tough and they require students to study hard and put forth effort. It was fast paced because I took it in the summer. Professor Tsao is very generous with his time and wants to help you succeed. He held reviews before the tests which were helpful and appreciated. I look forward to taking him for Anatomy 1. I took Prof. Tsao in summer 2018. Don't be so rude to him because I believe he is nice and he is recommendable. I don't know why this people got mad about his way of teaching. We are in college level, we are not in middle high anymore. So, face the challenge and Mr. Tsao will show you how to be prepare in the future professors. He is professional.

Jefferey is an excellent teacher. I would recommend him to those interested in Biology, or those who have had a previous introductory course. E.g HS Biology. It is crucial to attend class as well as read the text. His exams test on understanding as well as memory. I found that questions on exams came from my notes, PP, and textbook. Be SPECIFIC.

Jeffrey is amazing. I don't understand the bad reviews about him. His lectures are great. You really need to study outside a lot if you want a good grade. Definitely take him!

He's a GREAT professor. He's very clear in what he wants, and he stresses how tough the class is (if your not working hard he will get on you). He lectures a lot but he's good at it and its easy to follow! His tests and lab exams are difficult and you NEED to study to get a good grade! Anatomy is difficult but he makes it easier! Honestly pretty easy. Homework is the labs, which he gives you time to finish in class during lab hours. His test questions are straight outta the lectures he has and the quizes every morning. The laboratory tests are everything you did in the lab so you gotta memorize what structures and functions are. You dont really need the book but it helps.

I really do not understand why people feel that Prof. Tsao is a bad teacher when I can say he is one of the best. This class you need to listen to his lectures and do the homework efficiently because the same questions show up on the test. Its not impossible. Just study hard! Its not an EASY A but its definitely do-able. Suck it up and study.

The class is hard not going to lie. It will take you so many hours to study if you want above c grade. Jeffery does care about his students thats why he does preview and study guide. He is consistent with updating grades. Biology is very very hard so please study study study study study and dont take your frustration out on Professor Jeffery

Please study if you want to pass!!! The class is by far the hardest class I ever took. This isnt easy A class. Tsao is awesome he explains things probably. He is absolutely adorably cute! You wont be bored since he jokes a lot. There are 4 lecture exam, 2 lab exams, and 11 lab quizzes, and homework. He is nice if you dont cross him. Hes cool!

Great professor! Tests are very representative of the homeworks and lectures. He heavily hints at what the short answer questions will be so there is no surprise. Just review lectures, HW, and labs before tests and quizzes and you will get an easy A. Also there is extra credit. He's funny and will even give you scantrons if you forget or run out.

If it wasnt for Jeffery Id probably fail this class. I wanted to give up many times (personal situation with my children) but he kept telling me not to. He has been very uncomfortable when ur going thro things and trys to work with u. He cares a lot and wants people to pass. He goes above n beyond to make sure ur fully prepared for the exams...

Jeffrey is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. I came back to school after being out for 19 years and he completely reignited my love for all things science. He is highly educated(from Yale), very funny, young and passionate. Follow all of his directions, listen to the lectures, ask questions, do your homework and STUDY!! Thanks Jeffrey!

I would totally take him again! Pros: Very organized & hands out lecture packages at the beginning of class. Lecture exam questions are similar to those on the homework so really study that. Cons: class is exam heavy with a total of 4 lecture exams, 3 lab exams & a comprehensive final. Also, he gets annoyed when ppl make tiny mistakes during lab

I was afraid to take anatomy because ive always heard how hard it is. With jeffrey, i was able to take it with ease bc he made the lectures very easy to understand things. He hands out slides which really helped when studying. The way i studied for this class is by simply going over the slides an hour a day and the info will stick.

good teacher and very tech-savvy. the textbook isn't mandatory to use but is very helpful for studying. he is a very tough grader and will take off points for little things like spelling. hes very passionate about anatomy and makes the class fun to learn. very active on canvas as well. always updating grades

I took tsao for bio 31 and knew I had to take him for anatomy. He is probably one of the best professors I have had in Chabot. He hasnt out lecture notes, is very organized, and such a kind human being. He will bend his back to help you pass as long as you hold your end of bargain and study. He gives you all the tools you need to be successful.

Jeff broke biology down to a T. His tests are basically his lecture notes so if you write down what he says and memorize everything on there, you're golden. He even printed the notes for his students. He wants his students to succeed but you have to do your part and study. Be ready for his sassiness. It will come off rude sometimes.

Will I miss this class? Hell no. This is anatomy so don't expect an easy A. However, if I had to take this class again I would definitely take it with him. He might not be the nicest prof. out there but he's very bright and good at teaching. If you study weekly and do all assignments, you will leave this class prepared for future health pre-req's.

Prof T is overall good. He makes learning biology easy. He is a tough grader but will provide you everything to get an A in your quiz and exams, its just alot to remember and learn.

J Tsao is hard to rate. Class is content heavy/extremely difficult. Took while still in live classes, had to switch/online because of c-virus making the class even more difficult. Character > Sometimes he just wasn't nice. He belittles students at times. He acts as if everyone is cheating. Course > You know exactly what is expected. Very organized.

This was my 2nd time with Professor Tsao and I'm so glad I took him for Anatomy! I'm very particular when choosing classes & Jeffery is a solid choice. He is thorough, clear and organized. His lectures are very helpful & can be used even after his class is over. He is reasonable & never will trick you on tests. Take this class & trust him!

Professor T is amazing! Though reviews say he is difficult I think that you can succeed if you just put the time in, ask questions & focus on his lectures & lab reports. His grading is fair, reasonable and clear. To be successful in this class you must study and stay on top of lectures. I highly recommend Jeffery and took him for Biology as well.

He is the best anatomy professor at Chabot College. Canvas is very organized. He offers extra credit in both lecture and lab exams. His zoom classes are very interesting. He post videos of every lecture, watch those videos before attending zoom class, and participate in discussions. In nutshell, take him. I wish h also take a physiology class.

I took this class over the summer (online) All you need to know is he's pretty nice and assigns a lot of hw. Hw consists of lecture (just watch video and answers are given) Labs (medium difficulty). Zoom calls twice a week for 40 mins. You also pick up materials for home labs every 2-3 weeks. Overall just keep up with the work and you should pass.

he is a great professor, his lecture is very clear. if you read and study the lecture slid and doing homework I think you are ok for the exam. the lab part was interesting, I have to say there're be many terms and body parts that you have to remember no spelling mistake is acceptable. overall the class is interesting and really helpful!!

He's great at lectures, and the labs coincide with the material given. Your grade will rely heavily on the exams, so be prepared to study hard, he's unforgiving of spelling mistakes. He works with you to understand the material, but he can be condescending, just take that in stride and you'll be fine.

I really enjoyed having Jeffrey Tsao as a professor! I usually despise early science classes, but he brought a lot of fun energy and humor into the lecture and it was very helpful in perking us up a little despite how tired we were. His only "cons" - for lack of better word - is he can be stern with you if he doesn't see you put in any effort.

Professor cares about his students, and you can tell he is trying to make the material more fun. This class is meant to be hard, so don't expect to get an easy A or even B. The tests are all based on the material he gave on the PPT. He also offers extra credits for both lecture exams and lab exams.

Really good professor, I really recommend his class. He keeps you engage in his lectures with jokes, and ask questions back to class to see if we understand the concept. His homework is very simple everything is based off your notes you take in class. As for his test there very easy if you really study (try making notes in Quizlet).

I really enjoyed this class and the professor really knows alot about plants. The lectures were straightforward and very helpful to complete homework. The quizzes are before every lecture but its just three basic questions and the quiz is worth 1 or 2 points. Also, the exams are honestly very easy if you actually study. This class was BIO 21A.

Good professor. He keeps the class entertained by telling funny jokes. He is amazing at giving lectures, however during lectures he does call you out in front of the class to answer questions so I recommend to pay attention to the lectures and get ready to answer.

I would take his class again he is great and his class is fun, very challenging but its anatomy its not supposed to be easy. If you put in the work and study you will do good in his class. He is always available outside of class and willing to help you understand the material.

Mr. Tsao is a good but strict teacher but if you're motivated and study hard you will pass with an A. You have to do lot's of studying and homework so don't take his class if you tend to slack off. His lectures are good but in lab he tends to be harsh and has really high expectations of you. You learn a lot from him so attendance is mandatory.

This class was super easy. Literally, what's on the labs, lectures, quizzes, and homework is exactly what you'll see on the exams, so make sure to do all the work. Don't be afraid to ask questions or participate, especially in the lab & lecture. He will help you if you are struggling with something.

Professor Tsao gets a bad reputation for having the aura of an angry dad, and sometimes he gets moody. Still, besides his personality, his lectures are unique as I barely need to read the textbook, his grading criteria are clear, and everything he mentions in the lecture is on the test, so no surprises.

Prof. Tsao is literally the best science teacher I've ever had. He's very straightforward, he's easy to talk to and is always available for any questions. His test are a little hard but listen to his subliminals during lecture, he'll tell you what is on the test if you're paying attention. He's sarcastic but I loved the dark humor!

Lectures are good and important. Professor slows down the lecture to make sure everyone takes the notes and if you are shy asking a question he allows you to send him a text and answers it. Homework questions and weekly quizzes are the same on exams. Walks you through the major concepts

He made the lectures easy to understand and printed out all the lecture powerpoint for each student as notes. Homework is given every class but it's only a page. Quizzes at the beginning of every class so if you're late you can't take it and lose points. Lecture and Lab exams are separate and closed notes. Study and you'll be fine.

Lectures are easy to follow with guided lecture packets and straightforward labs. His exams are also fairly easy if you study, he also builds in extra credit into the exam so there's plenty of opportunities to get 100%. He's sassy and funny but also very nice. He cares when he can see the effort you put into his class.

This class is pretty straight forward. The exam questions align exactly with the lectures. He gives very short quizzes to help get easy extra points in the beginning of class. The professor can be sassy and a bit sarcastic at times, but overall he's cool and great at explaining things in an easy to understand way. If I had to, I'd take him again.

He's hard but those lectures are gold. Create a study guide and practice quiz out of the lecture and write down the examples he mentions. I work full time too and his lectures helped me get a good grade. Also, he has no problem telling you to shut up during lecture or lab if you're talking while he's talking so watch out. He's spicy!

Really good prof. His lectures cover exactly what's on the exams and his homework are basically whatever he said in lectures. Attendance is mandatory he gives quizzes within 5-10 mins of class so get there on time or you miss those points. Understanding and funny. Wants participation, will scold if none.

Honestly, he's not a bad professor. He had his crash-out moment, but other than that, he was pretty alright. His grading, tests, and lectures are kinda clear. BEWARE!! When taking BIO21A, you will have two big projects, three lecture exams, three lab exams, and a final cumulative exam. OH! And get to class on time!!

Don't let any professor's attitude get to you. He's a great teacher—might come off harsh, but that's life. Ask questions, stand your ground, and get what you need to learn. If you're a visual learner, you'll love his teaching & exams, everything is picture-based! The exams are VERY similar to the quizzes, hw, & labs. Don't be late for daily quiz!

Review is overdue as he is truly a great professor. I took him for Bio 41 and he built fundamental knowledge on biology that I carry for other science courses. Going to lectures and putting in the time to study are very important. He is a great lecturer and I would recommend to anybody.

Great teacher - everything you need is on the lecture handouts he gives you every class so it is very straight forward. You do not need to read a lengthy textbook for this class. The study guides for the exams are the handouts, homework, and in-class quizzes (you do not need to answer correctly to get the full marks - they are practice quizzes).
