I took his class last semester and i passed it. Wakefield is very helpful and on the top of that what i like the most about him is that he is very clear about lecturing and helping out students that are having proplems in math. He slow down for others.

I loved this guy. He's a little on the serious side, but VERY clear and easy to learn from.

He is very clear and very helpful, he will answer every question and I love it that he he gives homework and collects it. I also love the fact that he lets you work in groups.

very effective teaching. loved that he had us learn in groups. efficient class-time management. Not as boring as most teachers who lecture the whole time. Understood everything well. Willing to help when needed.

Wakefield and McDonold are the best, he is not to strict about groups, all you have to do is form a circle, and as long as you are doing, its cool.Great teacher does not screw around ansering homework questons.

Mr Wakefield is very helpful and very fair when it comes to grading. He's very clear in his explanation and goes at your speed...tests are easy and he gives exam reviews before each test which helps...trust me i'm very, very bad at math but i passed hus classes with a B thats why i took him for 71B as well....highly recomended

He's very thorough and at a good pace. Math is my worst subject and I got a B in his class.

He knows how to teach. very understandable. All the problems in the tests are from homeworks. wakefield is not hard, but 180 is hard.

very good teacher. clear and helpful but does everythign by the book. easy class if u like math and can catch on quickly. exams are difficult compared to others, will not baby you. study hard and do the hw.

He's a good teacher for those with major difficulties in math, but for others he might be really easy. And the way he talks reminds me of the clear eyes for red eyes guy...so he's kinda boring too.

hey teaches great is you consider how easy it is to get the subject but he is very boring and kind of mean at times .gets frustrated quick. make sure you go to class the day of the review test quest would be similar just diff

Great instructor - makes complicated things very easy! If you miss a class it is difficult to learn the material by self-studying. Wakefield creates handouts and goes over sample problems for every type of homework and test question you might have.

An incredible Professor. Very helpful, VERY clear. I took a winter inter-session and amazingly, I understood the whole entire book; obviously he teaches well! Take him and you will not regret it, I promise.

I thought he was a good teacher... M-KAY... lol. He's clear about concepts and goes over things until he is sure the class gets it. Kindof slow to follow. Don't expect him to bump you up to the next grade if you're really close. His writing on the board is really light so if you have bad eyes you should sit close to the front.

I took this professor through the Bridge program. 8 weeks per class (Math 50 & 51). It was not bad. Here is advice: Be on time!!! He starts on time daily. Tests are at the beginning of class (there was not time to spare). study the worksheets before every test. If you do all of that, you're looking at an A or B.

There is no way you will not be able to finally master algebra after taking this class.

Wakefield is a legend, well to me anyway. i hated math befor his class, now i have a clear understanding and confidece in math in any subject he covers.

i love Mr. Wakefield!! He is an awesome teacher.. he explains things so that you have no problem understanding and he gives worksheets for each new subject that helps you study. very helpful..i wish i could take him again for math 71.

He is very helpfull, if you never get the hang of Algebra well then take wakefield.. he gives hw almost everyday but it is not that much..

One of the best professors ever! I barely got a C last semester in Math 51 and struggled to understand the material. With Wakefield, I understand everything and am confident I will get an A in his class. Thanks for being so great Wakefield!

He breaks down every formula he teaches. It might be obvious steps to some kids, but for those who fear math, I felt it was extra helpful of him to do so. He ALWAYS wears shorts with short sleeve collar shirts and eats Chewy bars during break. He'll offer extra credit before exams (sometimes) and is easy going and approachable. I'm glad I chose him

He was a very helpful teacher. Knew every aspect of what he was teaching and taught it well. Although sometimes it can get boring, class sometimes goes by pretty fast. Gave homework every lesson and tests were simple. I got A's on every test with 2 of them being perfect scores(100%). He is an easy teacher who is very helpful if help is needed

His class is a little bit boring because he keeps teaching and teaching and teaching, but he explains very well, and his exam questions are very easy. He does not give any quizzes, and exam questions are based on homework and notes. He also gives lots of extra credit problems. He is a very kind and systematic teacher.

i thought wakefield was a very good proffesor. i liked his style of shorts. it was also nice how he introduced himself to the class. he seems like a very good man. and he was a great teacher. his class is easy because he teaches well.

He is very theory heavy when he teaches, but hes a pretty nice guy. Gives you homework daily for points. His test are homework based but he grades really hard on the work you do. So do show ur work on the test!

He was very helpful, he would slow down once and a while, he always had the answer and would explain step by step how he got it. I recommend taking him!!!!!!

Mr. Wakefield is a good algebra teacher.He breaks the material down a lot and goes into explicit detail.I took him during an 8 week semester through the bridge program and it went pretty well.Make sure your always focused and ready to meet him halfway (study).I peronally never studied and did not care much abou this class and i still got a B.

Mr.Wakefield is a good professor. He explains everything to detail and is willing to answer questions during class (HW Q after class or during break). Gives HW daily, you must show work for full credit, must take notes for credit which is turned in before ever exam, exams are based on HW, final is based on all test and fives 10 pts Extra credit.

he is super cool and helpful in class. If you dont do the homework you will not understand anything he says. He is a really good and dedicated professor

His teaching is great & specific. Grading structure seems difficult. Will not round off your grade %. Always on time to teach. If you're late to class, he will not collect your homework, even if you did it. Gives decent amount of homework from math book daily. Will not give extra time for you to work on exams/finals.

Mr Bakersfield I mean Wakefield its a cool Professor. I took him for Math 51 and 71 and he explains everything in detail. Prepare to write a lot of notes. Gives HW everyday. Test are very easy IF you do the HW and STUDY very well. If you like math then you will have no problems. If you hate math then don't give up.

took the math 51 and 71 bundle under the bridge program. not easy especially if you haven't seen the material in years. very long class hours especially if you don't like math, plus homework. expect to work really hard to get an A. pretty helpful, but he did rush through the 71 part because there was a lot of material. challenge = take him.

He is great! It was the first A I ever got in math in my entire life! It came as kind of a shock to me actually. I mean he's not the absolute best math prof. but he's a hell of a lot better than some. Take him if you can't get someone else.

Best math teacher i've ever had. He explains everything step by step and has a simple point system you can involve yourself in. Gives homework every class, and his exams are always what he goes over on the notes. He is very clear, and is very simple. He grades based on your work rather than having a correct answer. i highly recommend him.

Wakefield is a great professor! I highly recommend him, he's very clear during lectures and shows you step by step how to get through the problem. He will give you hw problems that are exactly on the tests, which is a great way to understand the material. He is certain on the way he likes things, if you're lazy, I wouldn't recommend taking him.

He is very clear with the information he gives. Be ready to ask questions. Expect homework especially if its an accelerated class. He test every week or week and a half. You earn your grade!

When I took Math 50, I was terrified I would fail the class because I have never been good at math. Professor Wakefield is strict about attendance and will drop a grade from your homework assignment if you turn it in even 5 minutes late. However, he is good at explaining things and is very approachable.

Prof. Wakefield is an awesome teacher. I have always been bad at math, and often failed classes. I took an accelerated program with him and passed all three classes with A's! He gives you worksheets and does problems alongside the class. He makes it so easy to understand! Take him if you aren't strong at math. Do Homework, study, & you will pass.

He's a wonderful teacher! I was so bad in math and when I took his class I got a A. He is very clear and is very helpful. Such a easy class. His tests are easy. Just be on time to class because homework is due right away or it's considered late and he will give you half the points. He does gives a few minutes after class starts to turn it in.

Very solid math teacher. Listens and breaks down any questions you throw at him. Gives out extra credit before every test. Cracks joke here and there. Show up everyday and really listen and intake his methods and you will realize that math isn't all that bad. Definitely recommend him.

Loved this professor, if he taught higher math I would defiantly take him! Homework is everyday, but the homework is really light. He's lectures are very clear, and he has he's own worksheets of notes , and their really short. He's grading on he's test are tough, but he gives extra credit and practical the test through homework and notes.

Mr. Wakefield is a great professor. He is organized and concise when it comes to math instruction, and he is also very approachable. never condescending and super helpful. Always shows up, and on time. Do your homework, turn it in on time. in case of emergency he'll allow you to email HW in, just has to be in by start of class. Clear syllabus

BEYOND THANKFUL for prof wakefield b4 him I hated math. Ive had him from math 50 51 now 71 he hands out worksheets everyday so you can follow along. He does assign homework everyday but it really does help. I didn't buy the text just took pictures @ the marc. His test are semi difficult BUT if you study the W.S you will pass the test

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MATH PROFESSOR! He is the best math professor there is! He explains everything nice and slow and easy to understand. He gives extra credit before every test. The extra credit is also a study guide and it's really helpful. He answers all my questions regarding math in the most patient and understanding way possible. Take him!

He is amazing. Clarifies things in different ways if you get lost the first time. Don't be afraid to ask when you get lost. He really does care about your success. It can be hard to interrupt him when you're lost since he is loud and rarely looks up, but he will not take it personally if you do. Highly recommend!

He was an amazing professor! I hate math I always struggled with math but he explained everything very clearly! He states what he expects from you. Hes willing to help you if you arent understanding the material. Overall the best math professor! 10/10 recommend!

A really great teacher for those of us who find math particularly difficult. He explains the 'why' of what you're doing and never makes you feel dumb. Very nice man and I definitely rec him as a professor! There is homework from the book every class, but it's never too much. Tests are only what he teaches - no surprises! Take him!

Best math professor! I've always struggled with math but he explains everything so clearly. def recommend if u struggle too! lecture, hw, extra credit, exam, and repeat. His tests are very similar to the worksheet packets he gives so make sure to study those and you will do great!

Absolutely one of THE BEST math professors I have ever had! Crystal-clear notes, reasonably challenging homework assignments that can be finished same day of class, and exams that wont send you into cardiac arrest. Take his class, and add it quickly because there are plenty of students who want a spot!

Took this class online due to COVID. He had recording for each section we do not meet. they were all very clear & understanding. I'm the worst at math always passing w/a C, but his lectures are very clear and easy that I'm passing w/a B. If U take notes & do the HW you will pass. HW is due M&W. Amount of HW is fair. Lots of ExtraCredit. Take HIM!

Professor Wakefield was awesome! He gives an extra credit opportunity before every exam and the recorded lecture videos are easy to follow-along with and understand. He's always willing to help and has quick responses to questions. As long as you do the homework and notes, this is a doable class. I highly recommend this professor!

Professor Wakefields lectures are on YouTube and assignments are posted Monday mornings in canvas. His videos are great since you can pause and replay parts. He is great at responding to questions and showing you what you got wrong on homework/exams if you ask him. Its not hard if you do work how he asks and ask questions when you need to.

This class is designed easy to understand. Taking note for lecture and doing your homework that help you figure out the problems. So, you can easily finish the exams and pass the class.

Amazing teacher, currently in my finals week with Mr. Wakefield and he's made the entire semester a breeze with how great his lectures are! You have to truly not put in any effort into this class to not pass as his lectures are video recorded for you to do at home and further practice the sections in class with assigned classwork. 10/10.

Super chill run of the mill math class. Available to questions during lecture, offers office hours after class, and breaks things down for people of all skill levels in math. Not a lot of group discussion was offered, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Mr Wakefield was a very informative and great professor. This class is not an easy one yes you do have a lot of homework and have to watch lecture videos but in my opinion it was well needed. He goes through the examples step by step in his lectures and when you get to class you work on problems and if need help you ask him.

I enjoyed this class and learned a lot from Professor Wakefield. I have nothing bad to say about this class but also nothing that stood out. The workload was normal and I never found myself worrying about the homework.

Mr. Wakefield is a great professor. He's professional, fun, friendly, and warm. I like his teaching style because he makes sure his students understand the math, not just how to calculate the answer. He also has a detailed syllabus, so if you follow it, you'll get high credit. I highly recommend his in-person class.

Very good teacher, obviously loves to teach as it shows. Exams are about 88% of your grade. Quizzes are open notes but only worth 2 points, same as hw. Exams are pretty tough but thats not his fault, its calculus after all. I wouldn't mind becoming a mathematician if he was my professor the whole way through, he makes it enjoyable. Best professor

I was never good at math in high school, and I've not been in an academic environment for the past 6 years, but Mr. Wakefield's lectures made learning very easy. The homework correlates directly to what you learned in class. The test questions are directly from the lessons completed in class so its very easy to study for exams.10/10 would recommend

Professor Wakefield is genuinely the epitome of what teachers should be. You can tell from the beginning that he truly cares about teaching and making sure his students learn. He takes time to walk you through how to do the problems in class. This is a hard class but as long as you put in the effort, you'll pass. Definitely take this course.

Professor Wakefield is great! He loves and enjoys teaching, you will feel his passion during lectures. As long as you attend every lecture, do all the homework given, and study for the exam, its basically a free A. Every lecture ends with a 2 question quiz which is worth 2 points. Extra credit is given at the end of the semester. Take him! =]

This class is ez, he goes SUPER slow in terms of explanation and tries to simplify stuff for everyone to understand. I would personally even take it in a fast paced shorter sem to avoid forgetting some stuff, (we met 2x a wk).Show up to class on time to get full credit for the hws. He grades and answers emails extremely fast which I always praise.

daily quizzes based upon what was learned in class, but open note. not lecture heavy but it feels like it the way he teaches (gives a note packet). if you like taking electronic notes, this isn't the math class for you, but overall was a solid teacher and helped you out if you missed anything or don't understand. takes attendance daily.

Jeffery Wakefield is intimidating at first, but I went to his office hours every week and he explained things very clearly (he never missed an office hour). He is extremely professional and breaks things down simply. This class set me up for success and we need more professors like him. Utilize tutors at the MARC and his office hours.

Super chill guy that genuinely cares about how you do in the course. He doesn't give review for exams but for the final he will tell you what to study and it helps a lot. Homework every class but its not bad.
