I took this class in Maymester. It was intense 5-9pm Monday-Friday. Dr. Z was helpful and made everything he wanted clear. He takes points off for grammar and spelling because biology terms are very close in spelling and you should be able to spell them. College students should know grammar!

Hands down the best professor on campus! His lectures are interesting, informative and he's actually quite funny. However, be prepared to study 24/7 in order to make an A or B. Nursing students: he's tough because he wants you to be prepared for the nursing program. (Don't listen to the whiners -

He is very different. I had a really great time in his fish bio class. There is a secret to handling him, make him laugh and you got him. If he thinks you're interested in his class he'll start divulging what will appear on the tests. He has a sense of humor and appreacites other's, (damn this sounds like a classified ad).

He's a very good teacher, however, his class is to weed out the ones that aren't ready for the nursing program. So it is VERY hard, but you can manage a good grade if you put the effort into studying and going to ALL classes.

Very knowledgeable. He doesn't make you make a textbook for the class, just an notes outline from book store which is a plus. You really have to study for the class, he makes sure you know your stuff. All the tests are short answer or essay and not curved. If you make at least a B you did well.

I just finished his class in Fall 05. I enjoyed the class. It challenged me. Dr. Z is not horible either, he's doing us a favor requiring us to know all this information. He's also a good listener if you go to his office with a problem. He really does want to help you if you help yourself. So I say good luck and enjoy!

Very hard but interesting teacher. He expects you to know the material for the class. his first test is very hard to weed out the people not ready for the meddical field. the next next is very easy. with the quizs and lab test, a B is a very easy grade to get. he doesnt give you anything extra, but he is fare. if i can get a B, anyone can.

Great teacher. tests are hard and consisits of multiple choice and short answer. dont procrastinate and u will do well. he will tell u rather u should drop the class after the lab midterm. he's way easier than Dr. Sellers. don't juse memorize the material but be able to apply it. the wording of the test questions is what gets everybody.

Dr. Z is funny and straightforward. he is a great teacher, he makes you understand the material, and professor klar for the lab is really helpful too. study a little every night there is a lot of material!!

HE's very funny and sarcastic. all you do in class is take notes which you have to memorize word for word! Do really good on the vocab quizess b/c they will really help you! you should study for each test very hard...it takes like a month to get well prepared for just one test! study ahead of time and dont slack off! the lab is really easy.

Nice teacher and funny but can be mean if he doesn't like you. study his notes and know them perfectly. ALWAYS runs over on time in class and lab. He's more about comprehension than memorizing, so understand the material. If he likes you and your class, will be a good class.

For his lecture class you buy a Notes Outline book from the bookstore for $15. This is where you take all the notes in class following along with him on the projection. Tests are difficult with about 32 mult. choice ques. and a few short answer ques. lab exams are hard..spend time at the lab to study.

Ummmm...he's Dr.Z! It's a very rigorous course, but with hard work and dedication...you'll be fine! I have very poor study habits and I managed to do fairly well in the class! Attendance is not mandatory but you'll probably regret it if you miss his lectures. Write down everything that he says and writes...YOU WILL SEE THEM AGAIN! Good Luck! :)

This class is really hard. His lecture tests start out multiple choice, but they are super hard because of the choices he gives you. You'll see. I kept my grade up with my lab tests which I made A's on both. Just study and memorize every word in the notes for lecture. I didn't do it at first and made a C on my 1st test, then made Bs ontheothers

Dr. Z is a VERY hard teacher. he seems to explain things very well but his tests are the craziest things ever.lab tests and vocab quizzes will SAVE YOUR GRADE! vocab quizzes(he gives up to 50 words..you learn them WORD FOR WORD) slackers do NOT take this class.he will not help your grade ANY. he expects you to learn it all. no extra credit

Despite the fact that learning the material is easy-read the course is a whole lot harder than it needs to be...its suppose to be a non-major course...i find it ridiculous...he is a good lecturer...but it seems he does not want to help u at all

KNOW YOUR STUFF...You must study, its a 4 credit hour class, but you must treat this class as if it were an EIGHT (8) credit hour class to be successful. i'm making an A right now, but like i said, i am studying this class as if it were 8 credit hours, not just 4...

He will challenge you, but if you show that you are hard worker, he will meet you in the middle. Its only when you give up or complain about the work that he will fail you. I I have 2 kids, full time job, full time student, and I made a B. You just gotta suck it up and do the work.

Simple test questions as long as you study. Tests are multiple choice and short answer over EXACTLY what is in the notes. Lab exams are based on exactly what he tells you. There are no tricks. Just like he told our class, he doesn't have to trick us because we do a pretty good job of tricking ourselves and overthinking things.

His class is very hard but only because you have to study so much. I memorized his notes word for word and still made C's on his tests. I ended up with a B and couldnt have been happier. If you don't have time to study for 50 hours per test... dont take the class... seriously.

Dr. Z is a great professor. He tries his best to convey the material in an easy and casual way. I mean come on people, the content is difficult but that does not make the professor a bad one. He is willing to help you as much as you can help youself! Had him for both A&P 1 and 2 and feel I learned more with him than any other professor!

Dr. Z was probably the best professor I have had at CSU! His tests are tough and you have to study!! If not, you will not make it. I have learned so much from his class and when I go into nursing, I will defiantly be prepared more than I ever will. Dr. Z loves to help you if you need it and will always answer your questions. Great Teacher. I actually failed with Dr. Hughes the semester before and retook it with Dr. Zuiderveen. Tough class but glad I retook it, I learned so much more the 2nd time through.

Zuiderveen is hands down the best professor I have ever had. I have such respect for him because he really makes you learn the material. I have 3 kids, a job, and I am a full time student and got an A in the class because I put so much time into it. I was amazed at how much I actually spending time learning the material.

Dr. Z is the best prof I've ever had. I feel fully prepared to enter nursing with the A&P knowledge I've learned from him. This is A&P so of course it's not easy, but he breaks it down in clear outlines and will always help clarify if you don't understand. The bad reviews on here are from lazy students who didn't study, don't be one of them.

Taking A&P 1 2 with Dr. Z was by far the hardest thing I have had to do to date. Yes, his test are difficult, but not if you put in the study time. I recommend 2 hours a day to keep from getting behind (which you will regret not studying sooner). Hated it while I was in it, but now i'm grateful, because of the knowledge i now have.

Dr. Zuiderveen is one of the few professors left that actually cares that you know the material, for "your future success". His class is very challenging, but if you invest time in studying and really learn the material you will be fine. He is funny, fair, encouraging and gives you real life applications that help you retain the information.

Dr. Z's class is by far one of the toughest classes I have ever taken. However, he is also one of the best professors I have ever had. He does not go easy on his students and pushes you, but it's because he truly wants you to learn the information. He knows his anatomy and is always there if you need him! Be ready to dedicate yourself to his class!

Dr. Z is a very good professor. I had heard the rumors before I took him and I was nervous. But if you listen in class and manage your time studying and memorizing your notes you'll do fine. I had a B first semester and an A second semester. If definitely take him again !

Gives quizzes about the prior days lecture each day. Get enough correct and you'll get extra credit for exams. Good intro to FamilySpecies of fishmacro invertebrates. Great class and professor. I took in the summer time so classes were a little long but, it was expected.

Loved Dr. Z. One of the best professors I've had at CSU. He will make you work for an A but an A in any of his classes is attainable if you put in the work. Overall, he is a great communicator and definitely willing to offer his help if you need it. However, he doesn't really believe in extra credit and he doesn't drop the lowest test score.

Great professor, but this was a tough class. Actually, all his classes like Anatomy and Toxicology are tough. Study smart and don't be afraid to ask questions. He is a really nice guy.

Dr. Z is the most caring Anatomy professor I've had. Tests are hard if you don't study, but this is anatomy so you should expect that. Study daily and prepare for daily quizzes as they are your attendance grade. If you have any questions, he's more than willing to answer!

He does try to help you as much as possible. He has attendance quizzes which could potentially help you with your exams as far as extra credit points.

When I signed up for A&P I was terrified because of all of the horror stories I had heard about Dr.Z, but I shouldn't have listened because he gives great lectures, tons of extra credit opportunities, and as long as you study the lecture notes (that he provides for you to simply fill in), you will be absolutely fine! If you want to LEARN the material for this class, then Dr. Z is the best teacher you could take. Yes, his test are hard but they are straightforward. You ABSOLUTELY HAVE to study & you will do fine. Attendance quizzes are extra credit & help teach you to study the previous material if you've never had a class like this - this bumped me up a grade nearly every test. Gives clues to what is on the exams and will be your best advocate if you truly try your best. Truly cares about students.

I went in thinking he was scary bc of RMP, but he was really a great teacher! If YOU don't put in the work (like he tells you to), then you will fail. Stays after class to help students and cracks jokes during lab and lecture. He is willin to work with you if you are willing to actually put in the work for yourself. Loved his class!

I took A&P1 in Spring2015 but did not get a C or higher. It was very difficult to learn anything from the way that teacher taught. I took A&P1 again and Dr. Z was my professor this time. Even with a newborn (born the first day of school) I still managed to pass the class and I truly believe that it was all thanks to Dr. Z and his teaching methods.

He does attendance quizzes which I believe to be very helpful. The points earned from the attendance quizzes were used as extra credit toward the next exam. There were 3 vocabulary quizzes. These were easy points. They required simple memorization. He does almost all of the notes for you. He has great advice for studying. Record his lectures

Go to the after lecture help sessions he offers, study for the attendance quizzes (they can save you in the end), and put in the effort to learn the material. It is an overwhelming amount of material to take on, but he is here to see you succeed!

I took him for ap 1 and 2. He is a good professor. This is a hard class but as long as you study you will do fine. He is always available to help and he wants his students to succeed. He will definitely prepare you for whatever career path you are taking

You WILL have to study and work for your grade! BUT you will learn a lot and it will be beneficial for your future career (medical school/nursing, etc.). Work hard and keep a positive attitude and you will be successful. Ask questions, study for attendance quizzes (they're just extra points that will benefit you!). Get ready for corny jokes!

Honestly i was scared to take him because of rumors. But truthfully he is a awesome professor and knows what hes doing, very caring and always willing to help. Dr. Z is one of the most challenging teachers I have every had, but he also has one of the most rewarding teaching style I've ever had. I am currently taking him for AP2 and already took AP1 with him. You have to put the work in for everything in his class, but if you're going to health field, take him. You will leave ready for your next journey.

AMAZING. Anatomy is already hard. His lectures are easy to understand, he answers questions w/o getting mad, attendance quizzes will become you best friend. This is class you need to study almost EVERYDAY. It is a lot of info but his tests are so straightforward, so you either know it or you don't. He stays after class to give insight in tests.

this class is the hardest class I have ver taken, by a long shot. im a nursing major, and I would recommend any other nursing majors to also take this course with Dr z. he is caring, super helpful, but he gets you ready to face the hard work that is coming ahead with nursing or pt school. his class is no joke, and I have had to give it all I got.

He's an AMAZING professor and gives extra credit daily but you need to know the material and STUDY. He's not going to give you the answers but asking questions after class and studying the notes help to prepare for the lecture exams. Spend time in the lab, the lab exams are from memory! I promise you, you have NEVER taken a course like this before. It is extremely difficult and material heavy, and imperative that you study daily or you will fail. Dr. Z prepares you for med school, nursing, pharmacy, etc. I enjoyed him because he forced us to learn the material. He provides attendance quizzes and they are your best friend!

Dr. Z is valuable professor. Although Anatomy was difficult and his exams took constant preparation for, he is extremely concise in his teaching. He is more than willing to provide support where needed. He is very clear on the expectations a student should live up to to pass his class. Constant effort is needed in his class.

It is a shame it is his last year because he truly is a great anatomy teacher. People do not want to put in the work and so complain. Study and you'll be good.
