taught night intro to stats class. group quizes, multiple choice tests. Minitab was graded very leniently. hw not collected but test questions are taken from the hw
She is very difficult to understand because she has a thick accent. She is not good at explaining concepts. If you want to do well in her class you have to take it upon yourself.

Don't take her class. she is the worst teacher ever!!! She has very heavy accent!! Math tutor should teach her how to teach.
She's from the former Yugoslavia, and is naturally pretty severe.

Very hard to understand. Works full time job before teaching night class so is naturally very tired which makes her lazy. Doesn't explain concepts well at all! Take it upon yourself to get help with tutors and such, do not relly on her. Nice lady but lazy and hard to understand.

Pavlov blows through chapters even if no one understands, her test are impossible and rarely somone get an A, our class size started as 35 and is now down to 10 because of dropouts
Actually, she's doing her best given a textbook of 1000 pages. The material is not easy at all and she could ask for much more...I like her.
doesn't give mekeups can't miss a quiz or turn a lab in the next day..for NO reason..don't even try she is cold..I don't see she is teaching stats anymore maybe b/c more than half the class fails she once explained a chapters in class before a quiz for which she had included that chapter.too much material never enough time.study on ur own good luck
Pavlov is unapproachable, lacks clarity in communication, and has only only teaching technique, which is writing problems on the board like a robot. She is hands down the worst teacher I've ever had. She does a dis-service to students at SBCC by possibly turning them off to math for life. EVERYONE IS DOING POORLY or HAS DROPPED, do not take!!!

She is definitely not an easy teacher, and this class challenges you a lot. A lot of people don't like her I think because she doesn't seem like she understands how to teach the material really well, but she does take it easy on you at the end of the semester. EXTREMELY difficult to understand. She has a very heavy accent, which she in no way apologizes for, and I spent so much effort trying to understand the words coming out of her mouth that I didn't have time to think about the Statistics concepts those words explained.
She is not only a horrible teacher but not very nice to her students. She acts mad when you ask questions and doesnt offer any extra help. If you want to pass Stats DONT take her.
THIS WAS THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! I loved math and always got As before i had this teacher. I actually ended up failing her class even tho I spent hours in the math lab. Her test are impossible. Shes rude and not helpful at all. More than half my class either dropped out or failed. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASSSSS!!!!!
Very hard class but then again all stats classes are really hard. she does her best to try and keep her students on the right path and always helped me when i needed it. seemed hard at the beginning but lightened up. very good teacher and i think these people arent giving her the credit she deserves. good teacher but hard class worth while to take

She is very nice and gives out lots of extra credit and all quizzes are group quizzes but you still need to put in a little bit of effort. She says quiz and bottle funny but its a fun class. she is the greatest teacher i have ever had!
I cant even begin to explain how much I hate this woman. She yelled at me during class for having my feet up, and I could not understand a word she said the entire semester. Do anything you can to NOT have her, she will ruin your gpa. I managed a A- through massive amounts of cheating, but she is crazy about attendance and everything really. AVOID!
Yes she is a hard teacher to understand b/c of her accent but then you get use too it.If you want to pass the class read the book and take notes on it (well the important stuff).she gives out quizzes,and group quizzes and i am sure she will be glad to help you if you don't understand, just meet her during office hours.
very strict, some accent, does not care if students learn or understand , covers all the 1000 page book so she goes fast, she tells you to go to the lab, which do not have enough statistics tutors when you have questions at class.
Extremely interesting and wonderful woman. Although I must agree, not the best teacher at times, but people on here are overreacting. Not tough to understand if you pay attention. And not that hard of a class if you have a brain. Math is not my forte and I'm not really struggling. But be prepared to spend some time in the math lab outside of class
Although hard to understand at times Ms. Pavlov is a good teacher and grades fairly. She is also a very nice person if you get to know her once you get past the learning curve of her accent.
Great teacher! She teaches in a way that actually allows you to learn instead of memorizing like other math classes I've taken. You need to come to class and pay attention. She was always available for me when I had questions and made me enjoy math. I recommend going to office hours at least once, helpful and shows her you are putting in an effort.
I am taking the class this semester. I have an A but I study A LOT. Tests are some multiple choice and some not and Mrs. Pavlov gives you practice tests to prepare for exams. She answers all questions. Teaches class clearly and solves problems step by step. You get used to her accent. Great teacher!
I took the 5 week course last summer. prof pavlov was wonderful, very thorough, and extremely helpful. She cares a lot about her students and she wants you to learn. Lots of opportunity for a good grade - quizzes, 4 exams, extra credit. She drops your lowest quiz.
Math 117 is a difficult subject but is completely possible to thrive in Pavlov's class if you keep up with the readings. I loved her class and I think she's a fair grader. Her slides are extremely detailed; she explains and conveys the concepts very well. As far as I'm concerned, she's one of the best teachers here.
Just attend the class, do the homework and you will do well. Mrs. Pavlov explains problems step by step and reviews before the test. If you don't do well its YOUR own fault. She will also answer any question you have in detail. Nice teacher
Terrible teacher! Makes no sense; to learn the material, you must do so on your own, so attendance feels pointless, but is still required by her. She is very strict about cell phones and talking. When people ask questions, she answers them insufficiently. Book required unrefundable @ bookstore and many hours at math lab will be necessary.
She is incredibly nice and supportive. A little constructive criticism is a good thing in order for a student to improve. Mrs. Pavlov is very polite and complimentary.
Stats is hard class but she is good professor. Good examples and lots of experience. Do your homework, study examples provided, ask questions and you will be fine

The course in not that easy - it is math! Mrs Pavlov is caring and honest to her students. She is more than willing to help you in any way she can but you have to study. Textbook is mandatory.Quizzes and exams are based on homework. Be sure you do the hw. She grades objectively. Nice teacher!

I hate math! I'm the worst when it comes to math ... but mrs Pavlov is the best. She works with you and she is understanding. Take her class if you wanna learn & pass
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. She is very confusing, she laughs at students when they asks questions, she is completely unhelpful. I basically had to teach myself. She gives you a study guide and a practice test but then her tests cover things that weren't on either. You'll be MUCH better off with a different teacher.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Find a better teacher or you will end up teaching yourself and wasting a lot of time. She has a thick accent and is rude to people when they ask a question. Her test study guides don't really help and you have to read the material over and over to be sure you understand. This class is not worth it.

I agree if you can get a better teacher, do. She's extremely confusing. When you ask her a question she usually doesn't understand what you're asking her so she either wont answer it or answer it wrong and leave you even more confused. She's nice and knowledgeable but teaching is not her strong suit.
Horrible accent, stupid and annoying. She couldn't even do simple division with out a calculator. I'm not talking long division she brought out a calc. for 8/32 everybody knows that is .25 right? Some of time she couldn't even be bothered to teach the material completely.
MRS Pavlov is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful teacher. I would prefer to take any math class from her but she does not offer any other class. If you want to learn stats - take it from her

Worst professor I have ever encountered at SBCC. Her thick accent makes new terminology and material twice as hard to learn. Never taught material thoroughly enough. Everyone in the class was confused 90% of the time aside from those setting the curve. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take this class with her.

I really enjoyed taking math 117 with Pavlov. It was a great learning experience. She structures the class in a way that is easy to follow. She makes it clear what she wants and gives really good feedback.

you are not able to understand her, and the study guides do nor fit the tests. I studied multiple hours for every test and would still get a bad grade..... Do NOT take this class. She also will try and explain something to you, then she will correct herself because she taught it wrong..?

Mrs Pavlov one of the best teachers I've had. She explains things in many different ways to be sure that everyone with different learning styles understands. She cares about her students. Do your homework, do well on quizzes, and you're good for the tests.

Unclear accent is sometimes difficult to understand Stands in front of the problems she is teaching and you can't see how she got to results When you ask her to go over the problem again she makes mistakes and confuses the class I will not take a class from her again to confusing
