Jen is a very nice and respectful teacher. She doesn't try to make the class always boring. We get to talk with others and ask questions. She is especially helpful when sitting down with her one-on-one. Making an appointment helps a lot. She is definitely better than other English teachers I have had before.

Dr. Santos is a very interesting teacher and explains concepts very well. She tries to make the class funny and simple.Take her class seriously if you want to do well. That means go to class, don't goof off online during class, and take notes on her lectures. She will tell you exactly which chapters of the textbook you need to read, too.

She has been very helpful and really cares about students. She takes the time to learn everybody's name and really wants to see her students succeed. Going to class is essential though.

She is one of the best professors I've had for honors! Very kind woman, although she does grade her papers very tough with her background as an English professor! Beware of how many essays and projects you do in a semester!

If you expect to miss even a single day of class you had better get used to asking for the notes. You cannot slack off in this class because Miss Santos grades quite harshly. That being said, I turned in excellent papers and she gave me excellent grades; you get what you put in. She's hilarious, but tough to work with at times.

Jen Santos is an amazing professor! I am a student athlete that always traveled and she would always email me the lectures and would make sure I understood what I missed. Office hours are important if you want to get a good grade on your paper. If you want an A she will help you get an A!

Dr. Santos is amazing. She's a super nice lady and sincerely wants the best for her students. With that said, you need to meet her halfway. She will help you if you go to class and office hours and let her know you want to succeed.

She was one of my favorite professors, very helpful and has a great attitude. She can answer your question at a college level without over complicating English. She is a genuine teacher and is a joy to be around. She's my preferred English teacher choice for anyone who struggles with English. She applies what you learn to her life experience.

English professor who really helps out students as long as you go to her for help. She would have us write our papers in class so we could always get help and was very clear on what she expected from us. Turn in a bad paper and get a bad grade but if you go to class and follow all her criteria for a good paper then you get a good grade.

Dr. Santos took over our class mid-semester after our professor resigned due to health issues. She could not have handled that transition better than she did! In fact, the class came alive and was more enthused with the content when she was our professor. We were a really close class after that. Could not speak higher of her as a professor.

Dr. Santos is exceptional. She is so helpful in giving clear instructions and gives extremely good feedback so that we turn in our best work. She deeply cares about her students and knows them all by name, even if there are 70-80 students in her classes. Highly recommend her.

Santos is an AWESOME professor. She is VERY intelligent, and engages students in class which is awesome. She will NOT hand you an A if you don't work for it. You must show up to class and participate! If you ask for help, she will go the extra mile to help you. We need more professors with this mentality. She'll make you work, but she still cares!

She likes to get to know all of her students which a lot of people might like. Me not so much. She was an okay teacher coming in halfway through the semester. I would say shes a good English teacher but she goes over the top sometimes, so if you like that, then by all means take her class.

The class is an easy A since she provides a specific rubric for each paper; with the exception of the final. Make sure to follow the power points and attend class because participation matters! Lecture itself is a little boring but overall a good class!

Santos was a great professor and actually made English pretty challenging for me, where in most English classes, it was a breeze. She really cares about her students and is always there after hours to answer questions and give you everything you need to get a good grade on your papers. I would definitely take her again if I needed more English.

Prof. Santos really cares about her students and does whatever she can do to help you understand the assignments. Of course, she assists you but doesn't tell you exactly what to do to pass. That is your job. She gives homework to do but it is broken parts of the essay so before the essay is due, you pretty much have the whole essay done.

Dr. Santos makes students work a lot in class so that there is not too much homework outside of class which is nice. If you do not show up to class then you will definitely not get a good grade. Strict grader, but makes sure you know the criteria very well.

It is really easy to do well if you show up and do the work she asks you to do. I have done really well and have gone through with A's on all my papers because of all the work she helps us with in class.

Best English teacher at GCU. She knows a lot and wants to have everyone succeed and pass her class but she will not force you to be there. Not only a great professor but a great person as well. She is very organized and will lay out how she wants her essays written. You only have 3 essays in this class but they are all worth a lot of points GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS

Its obvious as to how much she cares for her students' success. Since I had her during the first semester of covid, we had a blended environment. DO THE BLENDED ASSIGNMENTS, if you care about your grade. Plus, those blended assignments basically write up your paper. I did my papers the day of, and got 87% and above, so I think its an easy class

I took this class during Covid and she is a great teacher, we only wrote 3 essays the whole semester, yet does essays are weird, get prepared to write about weird topics. She is like a middle school teacher, very energetic and she wants you to succeed, so she does gave extra credit, just by showing up to class. She like you follow her template.

TAKE HER CLASS! Shes the most loving crazy cat lady!! Shes so caring and dedicated to her students. She cares so much about your grades and gives MULTIPLE chances for late papers. She gives out tons of extra credit opportunities too!! LOVE HER SO MUCH!!

I had this class during Covid, and she wants you to succeed. We only did 3 essays the whole semester, yet get prepared to write about weird topics. There are only three essays during the whole semester and she gives out so manys checklists, examples, explains everything (basically gives you everything you need to get an A on the papers). She helps you by providing templates for your essays and our assignments help us write our essay, so when it comes to writing the essay it's not so hard. She responds very fast if you have any questions and I recommend taking her!

She is a retired gymnast which I think is super cool and is passionate about mental health. Love how she has checklists for every paper and truly wants you to do good. Go to office hours, they will help so much. I went 3 times (1 time per paper) and it was very helpful and I got an A or B on every paper.

Dr. Santos is great at giving feedback on essays as well as guiding you through them. She is a more tough grader than other English professors but I think that's just standard as you take higher classes. I would recommend her to anybody who needs to take an English class at GCU. She does a great job at it

She was the first professor from GCU (of the 2020-2021 school yr) I've had that truly cared about the success of her students. She provided great feedback and tips for writing and gave templates to make it easier to format the paper. She is terrific and would take her again!

Professor Santos was an excellent teacher but she is very lecture heavy as well as working with classmates. So if you are shy and are looking for English class to just breeze by in, don't take Professor Santos because she will make you talk in front of class. She was so kind and honestly a great person to talk to.

Shes super nice and tries hard to engage the classroom. She gave us extensions on all our papers and offers extra credit. Some classes are optional and tries to get us out of class early. If you focus in class and use the work time wisely then the essays wont be bad at all you get a lot of time to complete it. She helps make them easy (only3essays)

Dr. Santos is an amazing professor, she teaches many great learning skills that are actually useful. Her PowerPoints are awesome. In some UNV-100 classes only the first 4.5 weeks are mandatory other than peer review days. I would definitely recommend this professor.

She always made class fun in her own way and her powerpoints were very helpful when writing papers. She always gave great feedback during the draft conferences. If you can take her class, I would and she actually teaches you things you need to know when writing papers in the future!

I took this course in the fall of 2024. Dr. Santos replaces essays with Canva projects like posters and flyers. While she teaches well, classes often go off-topic, and her time management can be lacking. For instance, during the second major assignment, poor planning caused delays, leaving us rushing to meet the deadline.

Dr. Santos is one of the sweetest professors I have had this semester. She is such a caring person and wants you to pass your class with A's, B's, and C's. She always wants to make sure that you understand the assignments and that you understand the InQuizitives. Always ask for help and always make sure that you don't ask questions last minute.

Dr. Santos Was Very funny and engaging. She is also a very understanding and hilarious person. The group Assignments are important and attendance are graded participation points(gain or loss). The class itself has Very few assignments, but the assignments weighted a great amount on the final grade.

You will enjoy the Kahoots even though it's a 7 am class. I enjoy the class even if I was half asleep because it's a 7 am class. Dr. Santos was one of my favorite 2025 spring semester professors. The assignments were easy, minus the research. I 100% recommend this professor.

Dr. Santos is a great professor. The grading rubrics are tough but fair, as long as you put in some effort you'll pass with little to no issue. There is also plenty of time to get the homework done in class as long as no one is messing around too much.

She truly wants us to succeed and sets every class up for that. Kahoots were engaging, and she makes sure we get thorough feedback on everything. I signed up for her classes twice, she made the class very enjoyable and I would absolutely recommend her. She doesn't waste time in class, everything she does is for a reason that helps tremendously.

She explains assignments throughly and makes assignments easy to complete.The IA/peer mentors are also always amazing and helpful, and it's never essay heavy.

Best professor I've had. You can tell she cares about her profession. She gives you everything you need for an A in class, literally straight up gives you answers to everything, you just have to show up. Lots of group discussions which was annoying but kept you engaged. She wants everyone to pass + do well, definitely recommend. I took her twice.
