The lecture is completely disconnected from the lab. 50% of the overall grade is group projects. If in a dysfunctional group for the two group projects then getting a 4.0 will be extremely difficult. The lectures are simplistic yet in-class assignments are 10% of grade so skipping is not advised. The final is nearly verbatim from lecture slides.
Almost all the important stuff happens in lab. Hope you get a good group. Occasionally, there will be lecture assignments and those are the only weeks you need to go to class. Don't expect to learn anything very useful in lecture. Dr. Morgan is nice, but not a great prof. There are readings assigned but not checked, and nobody does.
Doesn't actually do any teaching. She just reads articles the entire class period and then gives you a lecture assignment to do in 10 minutes when you really need 20.
Pretty easy class, There's only two exams: miderm and final
the lecture is so boring but theres only two tests that aren't that bad at all
Went to less than half the lectures and still got a 47% on the finals and STILL 4.0 the class. The lectures were extremely stupid, and I promise, you won't learn a thing from them. The class is group project heavy, so if you get a bad group, you're in huge trouble. Dr. Morgan also looks and sounds like a porcelain doll. Blatant cash grab from MSU!
This class was pretty easy. She is very good at explaining things. Attendance is not mandatory, but you have lecture assignments that are 20% of your grade, so you can choose if it is worth it to skip. Most of the work for this class happens in the lab, where you do receive attendance points. The lab is group work based.
Morgan does not care about her students or their success. Her lecture is basically mandatory because she does in class assignments which are a large part of your grade. There is nothing valuable that she teaches in lecture, I'm convicted she does those assignments to boost her own ego. Dont take a class with her.
Lectures are the most useless and obvious things in the world, but attendance for those is a huge portion of the grade. Pray that you get a good group because you may just end up writing half a paper meant to be written by 4 people. Also, don't schedule a class during open lab hours or else you wont be able to work on projects
The lecture is no really necessary. Most of the things Prof. Morgan teaches in the lecture can be found online. Prof. Morgan is really nice, but her explanation and teaching are really confusing. ( She doesn't do well on "teaching" us anything, we as student figure it out most of the time)
Lectures are unnecessary and the amount of time spent on the class isn't worth the number of credit hours
The Lectures are unnecessary and boring and the amount of time spent on the class isn't worth the number of credit hours.
For most people that ended up with As, they either ride on their own work, or the work of someone else. Lie about being unskilled in the first lab, that way youll get placed with people who actually have a work ethic. This class gives more work than a 3 credit if youre doing everything on your own. Try not to lose any points EVER.
Lost some brain cells in her lectures, she made me catastrophically dumber. Her explanations of anything and everything is minimal. The midterm is very confusing and you will need help. Lab and everything else is pretty easy though.
Professor Morgan is a nice lady but the course is straight booty. If you don't have a good team for the lab project, get ready to grind like Hell. Lectures were pointless and there were pop-quizzes at the end of some of them. I think I got less than a 50% on the finals but still ended up with an A, suggesting that this class might've been curved.
Dr. Morgan is a great prof, but her lectures and the lecture assignments were the worst. Also, you are put into groups, so if you have a bad team you might find yourself doing most or all the work.
Here is how you enjoy the class -Bring a laptop and sit in the way back -Pay zero attention, as much of it so basic you saving yourself sanity -Work with some kids who did pay attention to pass lecture assignment(20%) -In lab it's 20 min of work, and then an hour of chilling -Study like an hour before the exam and you will ace it.
Horrible at describing anything in detail and quite frankly the worst professor I have had at MSU. Her lectures are painful to sit through. I would not recommend her to anyone even though the class was pretty easy.
Grading criteria and other instructions were usually quite unclear, but in the end if you put in any amount of effort its an easy 4.0 it just might might be a frustrating experience. Lectures were unhelpful and disorganized. Lab depends on your TA. For anyone considering completing the honors option, it was a 10 page paper.
The group projects in the class can be difficult if you don't have a good group. Dr. Morgan is pretty understanding about it though, I reached out to her during her office hours and she was able to help me out a bit with my group. I would say the class itself isn't very enjoyable in that regard, but Dr. Morgan tries her best to help.
Dr. Morgan was great. She helped a lot during office hours and always responded to my emails. Her lectures dont go along with the labs but its still helpful. Final is hard if you dont study. The honors essay seems hard since its 10 pages but if you choose a good topic youll be fine.
.A ton of this class is dependant on your TA, and if you get stuck with one that isn't too great-good luck. The grading is mostly done by TA's and ULA's as well, and is often super inconsistent between classes, especially because grading criteria is super unclear. It is not that hard to get an A, but it is very draining at times.
As an online class you don't really have much contact with her besides office hours. She was helpful whenever I went to office hours, but I mainly went for guidance on an honors option and not the course content. Her lectures and assignments are kind of random compared to the projects but they're okay.
Her asynchronous lectures are awful. Be prepared to teach yourself everything if you don't have a good TA to reach out to. The workload is ridiculous as well; we lost two weeks (scheduling error) to work on our first project, and we're still getting lecture assignments that burn through time and don't actually benefit us. Avoid this class.
She has the teaching assistants do 99% of her work (holding meetings, grading work, etc.) while she sits there and does nothing but assign you busywork. Such a poorly ran course, very lazy professor. And of course she makes you pay $100+ for a textbook you barely use and frankly don't need. Absolute clown professor.
The class was super random and the content was not related. Your grade completely depends your TA. I've had friends take this class and do great but I did not do as well because my TA graded so aggressively hard on our group projects that even though I got 100% everything else I still couldn't end with a A and there was nothing I could do about it
Congratulations! You just spend a space in your scheduling learning how to use excel. Sorry if you already know how, that's not MSU's issue. As far as Dr. Morgan goes, where was she? She did the lectures which were boring and irrelevant. She didn't interact with the 2 large projects which make up almost all your grade. Pray for a good TA and group.
We never met with her face to face. She was completely asynchronous and basically did nothing besides create very boring and irrelevant lecture videos. The group projects consumed our time primarily. The TAs handled the project grading and project directions alone. Your grade is entirely dependent on having a competent TA. Pr. doesn't do anything.
First, you are required to pay 100 dollars for an online textbook that contains graded reading quizzes which have no bearing on anything else in the class. Your grade is VERY dependent on your TA and project group. Dr. Morgan herself seems nice in her videos but it's not like I would know, since almost nobody in the class ever met her.
Dr. Morgan, overall, was not the best professor, but not the worst. Had virtually no student interaction besides pre-recorded videos, which were very slow-paced, and the course required a 100 dollar online textbook that was barely used. Class itself was easy for me, though apparently some TAs are extremely tough graders, so watch out for that.
Interesting course. Heavy group work. Decent amount of work for 2 credits. Hope for a good group cause some of these sorry engineering students won't do anything in these groups and you will have to pick up.
You would have a better time by converting your tuition into nickels, filling bags with the nickels, then having people hit you with said bags. If this was my first taste of engineering I would want to change majors. Unfortunately, at least during my time, she was the only one to teach this class.
Morgan doesn't seem awful, but she isn't really the one doing the teaching outside of pre-recorded lecture videos. Your TA is who does most of the class, the projects (a lot of the grade), and the one who grades stuff, most of them mark you down for the smallest of things. If this isn't required for your major don't take it. Hope for a good TA.
I saw Dr. Morgan twice the whole semester, I had an in person lecture but realized watching it online was easier. This class is stupid at best the projects you do in lab are equivalent to what middle schoolers do. Hope you get a good group because it will be an easy A. Midterm is worth a lot of points but she has videos outlining how to do it.
I like Dr. Morgan, she seems nice. The lectures are fine, nothing amazing about it. I really hate this class though, most engineers won't use the skills taught.
The lectures were all recorded and posted, but the assignments were difficult as she doesn't go over the material in detail and expects you to have prior knowledge. The bulk of your grade is the lab group projects, which were awful or great depending on if you got a good group. The midterm was easy since she outlined it in lectures.
DON'T PAY FOR THE ONLINE COURSE BOOK. It is over a hundred dollars and it's five hours to go through all of the work assigned using your free trial. As for the rest of your class, your group will make or break this so make an effort to actually get to know them. The course material is very basic, be ready for a lot of high school science classes.
Professor Morgan seems to care about the students and was usually really helpful when I visited her during office hours. However her lectures were completely unrelated to the stuff you did in lab and if you don't get a good lab group you'll have a tough time. Some projects are also way easier than others but you have little say in which one you get
The lectures and lab work are very different but they do relate to what you're going to be doing in engineering. Most of your grade is based on lab work, so hopefully you get a competent group. Projects are decently easy the TA's help you out a lot and the prof gives good resources to use on projects and the midterm in d2L. Attendance is graded!!!
EGR100 is a simple class. Most of the work is in lab and if you pick an easy project, you'll be fine. In lectures, however, Dr. Morgan speeds through the notes and students have no time to write anything down. Everyone took pictures of the screen before she clicked to the next slide. Lecture assignments can be hard, so ask around you for help.
They grade based off of "creativity", which is an arbitrary and poorly described metric.
Lecture is required but has absolutely no relevance to the class. I'm not sure I've ever taken a class and learned nothing before. Lab is enjoyable but make sure you have a good group or else you are in for it.
EGR 100 is a complete waste of time. The lectures were just boring and the only reason I went was because of the assignment. 99% of the work for the class is done in the lab portion and which is taught by the TA. Class is super easy but will ned to do work on the group projects, so pray you to get a good project group. Projects are also super easy.
Dr. Morgan is honestly not a terrible teacher or person, she's just not a good lecture professor. She goes through things thoroughly but it's almost boring and the lecture assignments are somewhat hard. If she was a TA, it would be much better
Dr. Morgan was of minimal help the whole semester, and her lectures were very irrelevant and unhelpful with the labs. I first entered this course with high expectations and quickly became disappointed for many reasons. Also, the required $110 online textbook was completely useless other than needing it for a few 5-minute quizzes the first month.
Professor Morgan puts in zero effort for her students. The class is unnecessarily harder than it needs to be. The lectures by Professor Morgan is a waste of a hour but you have to stay till the end to complete the lecture assignment that she gives the answer to. It seems they pay her for her PhD title and not actually teaching proficiency.
Dr. Morgan's class (specifically EGR 100) is unnecessarily difficult because there is a lot of irrelevant information in her lectures. Basically the entire semester it is unclear what you need to know. However, I think that Dr. Morgan does try to help students when she can.
This course was irrelevant: lectures had nothing to do with labs and most of the work was done in lab. Lectures were mostly spent going over slides and most people couldn't keep up with her and take notes because she went through everything very fast. TA's did most of the teaching throughout the course, and every TA grades differently so beware.
The group projects were awful and the TA's grade insanely harsh. It's easy to forget to do work for this class so make sure you stay on top of your work.
The lecture, reading (which costs $100), and labs are irrelevant. The TAs vary; some could be very harsh, even on a tiny mistake, but others care. The professor herself is really nice, she tries to make everyone understand the concept and does well in this course. She truly cares for her student and provides constructive feedback towards questions.
The course lecture and required $100 textbook are totally unrelated to the lab and exist solely to be mined for final exam material. Expect to do poorly on the exams and lecture assignments if you do not have a solid physics foundation coming into the course. Labs are all group work, which is great if you get a good group, but awful if you do not.
This course is completely irrelevant, but a requirement for all engineering majors. The lectures are useless, and group projects are tedious and trivial but can be fun if you get a good group. If you don't get a good group, you will not enjoy this class. Dr. Morgan has office hours twice a week and will help if needed, but this should be an easy A.
She acts like her 2 credit class is the most important thing in the world. Her level 100 class had more work in it than my level 300 class. It was boring and taught me nothing and costs $1000 to take.
Dr. Morgan is a good person, but terrible professor. I had more work in 2 credit EGR 100, than the rest of my classes combined. I didn't buy the $115 textbook, got zeros for the reading quizzes, and still got a 4.0. The group work is terrible if your group is bad. Grading is done by TAs. The midterm was a cake walk if you follow her example demos.
Dr. Morgan is one of the most caring profs at MSU. Although the lab projects can get hard, get with a good group and you'll do fine. She also helps you on the graded lecture assignments each class and goes over stuff to help. Theres lots of opportunities to earn credit as long as you complete everything. There are also only two tests for the class.
Never accessible for help outside class except during office hours - will never do anything over email. Makes you purchase a $150 textbook for 5 homework assignments. Attendance in lectures are required and there are graded assignments in them. Dr.Morgan along with her TA's are unsympathetic and unhelpful. You will teach yourself everything.
Will give you lecture assignments to do, then takes them for points, gives them back graded, and then expects us to turn them in again for what? Why what reason? She does things without reason. This woman teaches with rules. She doesn't flinch at students asking for help or needing more time on slides. If it can be avoided avoid
You are required to purchase a textbook and complete reading quizzes which ask questions that are utterly useless. You have to resubmit already graded papers a month after they are done getting another grade to "make sure you keep the papers." And the classes talk about things you would learn better in other classes but she goes way to fast.
I have spent a cumulative 12 hours in her lectures and have not learned a single thing. At least the labs are pretty fun.
Terrible. No late work even by 30 minutes even though they grade 2 weeks later. Some TA's are the harshest graders. I had more work in this 2 CREDIT class than my four credit classes. This class is also completely useless and your grade is based on luck whether you get assigned an easy or a hard project. This being a mandatory eng class is a joke.
Dr. Morgan is a nice, helpful woman but her lectures seem pointless. All the consist of are her going over random calculations that seem to have no correlation to anything we do in the lab. The lecture assignments are repetitive, and the midterm was really weird. The lab is fun as long as you get a good project which can be unfair.
Dr.Morgans lectures have nothing to do with the Labs and are very unhelpful, even for the lecture assignments. You never know when anything is due and she fails to remind you to keep the assignments even when you have to submit them at the end of the semester. Its almost like Dr.Morgan sets you up to fail.
Class felt absolutely useless for later in life, way too much work outside of class, especially for 2 credits, and a $100+ textbook that is essentially only used for homework problems (that you absolutely have to buy new; can't get secondhand). Only a 2/5 instead of 1/5 because she was easily accessible through email.
She was ok. Good person, but treated kids like they didn't know anything, like kindergartners. Projects graded unnecessarily hard. Most of the grade is based on 2 projects. Lectures were generally unhelpful and did not flow at all.
Jenahive herself is nice but it's the TA's to be aware. Most of the class is group work and the TA's are very picky on the projects. They don't grade based on the rubric or requirements and take off points for the smallest stuff. The TAs also aren't very clear on what the projects or reports are supposed to have. Midterm and final exam are easy.
easy class, lectures were just really boring and fast paced. there is lowkey no point in showing up to the lectures besides the lecture assignments because the videos she uploads are the same.
Dr. Morgan's class was a typical first year intro class. It's easy to manage a 4.0 in her class if you provide group effort and have a interest in engineering. The biggest takeaway from her class was learning how to work in groups. Her lecture assignments were my biggest struggle (not too hard though) due to the intensity of the calculations.
Morgan is not bad herself and her lectures are fine, but a bunch of calculations are thrown at you and you don't really learn anything. Exams are easy as she walks you through it step by step. BUT, I cannot stress this enough please get a good group for lab or this class will be horrible. Please don't feel bad and leave them as it is your grade!
egr 100 is the most useless class of the curriculum. that two credit class is more painful than anything.
One of the most useless classes in MSU. Her lectures were fast paced and boring. Those assignments during the lecture were so easy. The projects are just waste of time regardless of only 2 credits. Wouldn't take this class again.
This class is a waste of time. The lectures are very boring and she doesn't do a good job of explaining so you don't really learn anything. At the end of each lecture, there is a lecture assignment, which is most of the time hard as she doesn't explain the topics but rather reads them off a slide show. This was one of my least favorite classes.
Unfortunately this class is required for engineering majors, otherwise I would recommend that nobody take it. Lectures are super fast and basically useless, it's difficult to keep up. She has mandatory graded lecture assignments so you can't skip. Lab is based almost entirely on group projects and varies WILDLY on your TA and group members.
This is not a hard class to get a 4.0 in, but this was also an annoying class to take. The professor is a good person but not the best at her job, she speeds through the slides and there are in-lecture assignments that you have to do. The labs could be easy or hard depending on your group and TA.
Dr. Morgan was very nice and caring, but her lectures didn't make any sense. It felt like she just talked about random stuff and it didn't seem to be relevant or relate to anything.
If you have any questions for Dr. Morgan that do not directly involve lecture content, she tells you to attend her office hours no matter the question. Once you attend her office hours, she is incredibly rigid and makes you get back in line if you have any modifications to be made. Working with Dr. Morgan is extremely difficult.
Dr. Morgan wasn't as bad as her reputation makes her seem. Her lectures were decent, but the material presented was pretty useless, as was the class as a whole. She also wasn't very available outside of class, as she usually was not able to talk before/after class and her office hours always had a long wait. Not the worst... not the best either.
This Professor is the reason my Engineering has so many problems in the modern day. She has said, "We have new students" in one of her lectures she is the reason that so many good engineers quit Engineering because she trys to kick the creative, and questioning students out of engineering.
This class as a whole is the single most useless information dump ever, get ready to learn about microsoft excel and "problem solving" aka doing random projects for no reason. Other than that, Morgan is not a great prof, she goes through the lecture information too quickly and all the lecture assignments are just copying info from previous slides.
Not lenient at all.
Lectures were so boring and I learned absolutely nothing. To be fair, that's mainly a pitfall of EGR 100. Just read off of slides that were mainly dimensional analysis.
This class is a joke. Your once a week lectures are spent sitting there having no clue what is going on, until the last 10 minutes when your handed an assignment and told to do it. Your 2 hour long once a week lab is very TA dependent but with no clear rubrics or guidelines you'll have no clue what to do. Don't even bother with office hours.
Overall, class is mostly busy work. Your grade will be determined by how lenient your TA is. Had to buy a $150 textbook that was utterly and completely useless for 10% of the grade. Lecture attendance is required. However, Dr. Morgan is very kind and was always friendly in lecture. Great person, boring class. Wish we didn't have to pay for textbook
useless lectures that taught us common sense things like unit conversions. didn't learn anything new, everything was something I new from middle school science classes. labs required a ton of work for a 2 credit class. had to buy useless book for homework, which just glazed engineers and didn't teach us anything.
She assigns a very useless textbook which is 130 bucks. Super easy class.
Professor is unorganized and teaches concepts that are generally common knowledge. Book is expensive for class that is useless. The only part that is useful is working in groups to complete projects. Should be a 3 credit class as many groups are not efficient and require one person to carry the team.
Dr. Morgan isn't the greatest professor, but really isn't as bad as her rating makes her out to be. As a person, she's quite nice and respectful especially while answering questions in lecture. As a professor, her lectures seemed kind of unorganized and hard to follow, sometimes giving us only 10ish minutes to do the required lecture assignment.
Dr. Morgan (you MUST call her doctor or else she will not even respond to you) is extremely difficult to reach and very difficult when it comes to communication. The class itself is not hard, however she instructs the TA's to grade VERY difficult, and would not communicate unless you go to her office hours. I pray one day this class isn't required!
the professor seems nice, but the material is so unorganized when it's taught. i had no idea what was happening during lecture assignments. even the labs assignments were confusing to understand. the labs are also two hours and you basically just sit there. they need this to at least be a 3 credit course for all the work and group projects.
She goes out of her way to stop people from doing well and wastes their time. For example, if work was submitted on time in the wrong portal (she teaches first sem freshman mainly), she makes you come to office hours which are at an awkward time and still might not accept the work even though it was submitted on time just at the wrong place.
Made me buy a 130-dollar textbook to not use it. This sums up the whole class experience, overall, lectures were unorganized and she went extremely fast. Labs vary greatly depending on your TA and group.
Everything taught in the lectures is common sense, all of the real work comes from the lab. Textbook is barely used and very expensive. Professor is nice enough but this class is absolutely useless.
Not outstanding, but not necessarily an awful professor. You have very little time to take notes in lectures, and the projects are super mundane and not exciting. It's very unclear what the curriculum is supposed to teach or prepare you for. Depending on your TA, you will be graded super heavily or not at all. Try to take the class with a friend.
Dr. Morgan is kind but inflexible and overly strict. Missing a scatter plot cost me 60 points out of 200, and despite scoring 98/100 on the final, I got a B. Submitting assignments even one minute late results in zero points. The course demands too much for a 100-level class, the $100 e-book feels pointless, and emails often go unanswered.
I have never seen any professor that tries to "fail' a student as hard as she does. She's unreasonably strict and seems like love to give students penalty.
In her lectures, it's fine 35 minutes of her talking and 15 minutes to do an assignment. HER LAB? SUCKS! You do two projects throughout the semester with a team, if you have a teammate that isn't doing any work and you want to leave their name off? The rules for that are very fuzzy. I hated this class, but it is the first step to being an engineer.
Hey guys welcome to the 8 AM lecture, let me speed run 30 slides, so you have no idea what I'm talking about. Oh, hey you also have a lecture assignment on said slides, but you only have 10 minutes, good luck! Oh yeah, don't forget to go to that 2 hour lab and jerk each other.
Genuinely the worst class I've ever had. She seems nice, but had quick, useless lectures that taught us nothing. My lab groups were DESPICABLE- had to do all the work and I didn't know how to ask for help from prof. No lecture content came up in lab at any point. USELESS $130 TEXTBOOK??? GOOD GOD. AND WE HARDLY USED IT. Bad reviews are true.
Dr. Morgan gives what are some of the worst lectures at this university. she explains everything badly. also she makes you buy a $150 textbook that she didn't mention a single time.
Most problems have already been said. Overpriced useless online textbook, big ego, bizarre grading. Keep your lecture assignments (Yes even after they're graded). The lab TA did all the heavy lifting and was very nice. You will not learn anything in this class.
Yeah, this class wasn't fun, but all engineers have to take it unfortunately. $150 book was useless but required for points. TA was not a good grader. Lecture assignments were easy. Just unit conversions for the most part. Class just annoying rather than difficult. This class should be an easy 4.0 but there were some close calls from bad grading.
Honestly this course solely depends on your group members and your TA. Also be prepared to spend around 170 for a textbook that is useless. Once again you need immense luck for your teammates and TA to have a good experience.
She was okay, but the class is just pointless. I don't know why the university forces engineers to take it. You learn quite literally nothing, the lectures are at 8am, and you just talk about random BS and powerpoint/excel. Joke of a class, and Prof. Morgan was just "Okay". HATED the course though
She is nice and educates you about careers in engineering. all work in this class is very easy. I've seen people on here claim good group members are important to your success in the course, but you could do all the work alone it would just be a more significant time investment than necessary.
This class uses a $150 textbook which has content that can be summarized in a YouTube video. The lecture/exam is mostly an arbitrary combination of thermodynamics, physics, chemistry, etc. This class lecture/exams doesn't really serve a purpose for engineers. Labs are useful, as they introduce report writing and collaboration to students.
This class is honestly more work than the 2 credits it is, but it is very easy. Make sure to attend lecture as there are lecture assignments you must complete to 4.0. Dr. Morgan is very accessible outside of class. If you ever need help with anything (grading, late assignments, etc.) don't email her, just visit **office hours**.
Class was pretty fun and easy mostly involving a couple of hands on projects and some highschool level math and physics. She's a pretty nice and caring person. $150 for the text book was crazy, another class I'm taking uses the same platform and the text book is $40 with about 10 times more content than this class.
good overall
Easy class but the lectures are so boring and not useful. The lecture assignments are so easy. Grading depends on the TA for labs but they are mostly lenient and good with material.
EGR100 is an unorganized class and the lectures and labs are disconnected. The labs have a ton of reports and projects that are often too much. Lectures are to prepare for exams. The class doesn't introduce students to much engineering besides how to write reports and make scatter plots in Excel. Dr. Morgan is kind and accessible outside of class.
The course itself is very stupid, so I can't put that on the professor, but her lectures are actually very boring and useless when it comes to teaching us content. She is really strict on changing grades and won't give you even 0.01% credit if that meant you would get a 4.0 in the class.
The lectures and lecture assignments taught me nothing; it was just busy work. She is also not very lenient on changing grades. The class is heavily focused on group projects, and when people in my group didn't submit the work like they said they would, I got zeros, even after going to her office hours, she said she wouldn't change it.
The lectures were useless, and the assignments reminded me of 8th grade math. The lab experience depends solely on the TA. I had Matias Leon-Miquel. He was the best TA and was so kind and helpful during lab and was a pretty lenient grader. Dr. Morgan did nothing. The TA makes it or breaks it. Overall very easy class though.
The class is HEAVILY dependent on the group you get. If you get a good group it will be an easy 4.0 with little work. If you get a bad group, like myself, you will have many late nights and the class will be equivalent to a 4 credit course. My group did zero work and it was the most miserable experience I've had in college so far.
The professor seems great, but lectures can feel boring and pointless. The class heavily depends on the group project, so your experience may vary based on your team. The TA also plays a major role—having a helpful one can really improve the class.
Your grade in this class will be completely dependent on the group that you get, but all other work is extremely easy. My only gripe with Morgan is the $150 textbook which you HAVE to buy in order to do the homework. It's unfortunate that this class is required since its completely unnecessary but she makes the class as easy as possible.
I dont know why do some students hate the professor. I agree a lot of content in class can be done in a short amount of time rather than a semester, but professor does teach well and tries to make students learn.. However, her office hours line is really long, it needs to be fixed.
I earlier gave her a 5 star thinking she was a great professor. I recently got an email saying my honors option was rejected for this class. I LITERALLY PUT IN HOURS OF EFFORT INTO WRITING A 8 PAGE REPORT for honors option and due to some minor error,SHE JUST DECLINED MY ENTIRE REPORT. I mean how could a professor be this tough on an assignment .
Dr. Morgan is one of the most soulless people I have ever met in my life. She is very rigid and unaccommodating. If you come to her office hours with questions regarding grading, expect to leave the room with no shreds of sanity left. Her class may not be difficult, but she is certainly difficult to be around...
Dr. Morgan is fine. She seems like a robot most of the time during the lectures. The content of her class is important but is very boring. Even though the TAs do the grading, they follow a strict grade scale for each assignment. You will get a 70% on your first paper, the excuse being "It's a tiny portion of your grade." Do the work, you'll be ok.
most work youll have to do for a 2 credit class, lectures are very boring and filled with unnecessary info, course work is mostly busy work and group projects, overall not hard to get a good grade but not a good class
This is the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Expect to be spoken to as if you are 3 years old. Has two total office hours per week despite a 500 student class size. Therefore, if you show up to office hours expect to wait 30+ minutes for a short conversation that will be her lecturing you about your questions before you finish aski
Think her average grade is more indicative of the course itself and not her. Experience largely depends on group members and TA. Book costs an insane amount of money for its use case, and lectures are usually pretty boring. She herself is a nice person, course is just repetitive and quite boring.
The grade that you get is largely dependent on the group that you have in lab. But, you do have the option to switch groups after the first project. I don't like the $150 textbook that you have to purchase to do homework. She is pretty decent at Lectures but most of the things are pretty general that we are taught.
The only thing you need to do to pass the class is focus on the lab. She does lecture assignments but they're pretty trivial. Exams are open note. You don't really gain much from lecture. It's mostly group projects and report writing so its reliant on a good group. I had a good TA which made it a little easier. Keep the lecture assignments.
Grade is entirely dependent on your lab group and TA. Lecture is a little boring and usually doesn't relate to lab content. Attendance mandatory as there are lecture assignments. TAs are pretty harsh graders and will give you a 0 for submitting something even one minute late. Also the textbook is crazy expensive for how much you end up using it.
Haven't interacted with the professor much but the class wasn't bad. Depends a lot on if you get a good group, but otherwise it's mostly about following instructions and keeping up with deadlines.
Very kind and easy to talk to. Although office hours are limited, you can always email your TA with any questions. Overall, it's an easy class if you actually follow the report rubrics and is a pretty fun course.
she is super nice and helped a lot with any questions i had
her class is kind of pointless but easy. pretty much don't understand what she's saying but it doesn't matter because we don't ever use any of the stuff
Dr. Morgan is a very sweet lady, don't get scared from her low rating. The entire class is based on if you do the work on time. She does make her TA's grade kind of hard on the reports, but it's only to prepare you for the actual reports you'll have to do in the field. They also give you really good feedback so you can improve for future reports.
she is very rough in grading, and forces the TA's to grade you horribly and harshly. Her office hours are horrible with 2-3 hours a week, and always 5-10 people waiting in line. Be sure to wait for 45 mins to talk to her. And she is very harsh, the course is structured horribly about stuff and not being clear. She also speaks like a robot in class.
From what I can gather, Dr. Morgan is a generally nice person. However, the class is structured very poorly. Overall, it was mostly just a report writing class. The lectures were a mix of vague engineering and physics topics that aren't fully explained, especially the physics. The class wasn't hard, but the textbook is only for homework questions.
Dr. Morgan seemed like a nice person. Although nice, her lectures were very pointless and people only showed up for lecture assignments. The whole course experience depends on if you have a good group or not. You spent way to much time out of class doing homework and assignments for this class being two credits.
She's very unavailable and the kectThe class is a weed out class so don't be discourage if you're passionate about your major. It's an easy A when you put the unnecessary amount of work in. Switch your group of its bad and meet people in your lab! There's a lot of busy work for it o be a 2.0 class but use your resources.
PICK A GOOD GROUP. The labs are all group-based. Dr. Morgan sucks. The lectures have no value. The labs are where you actually do things. Don't buy the textbook; just use the free trial to do the reading assignments and skip the last 4 or so. But yeah, she is awful.
Lets get one thing straight the class is not hard. I think most of the ratings are because of the lab, which is a teacher assistant, not Professor Morgan. In lab, you might find yourself in groups that are lazy and uncooperative so you may end up doing most of the work. Anyone rating this professor below a 3 is one of these lazy people.
The class should be an easy 4.0, Morgan will not affect your grade at all as everything is dependent on your TA and your lab group, just do your work and you will be fine. That being said Morgan's lectures are long, boring, and completely irrelevant to any work we are doing, and she makes you buy an expensive textbook that no one will be reading
EGR 100 is just generally a bad class, and Dr. Morgan tries her best with what she has. The lectures are generally not interesting with a small quiz at the end.
super easy, all the exam answers are online. chat gpt is king
