Honestly I'm pretty sure we can all agree she is a real gem and needs to be protected at all costs. She makes abstract and complex ideas super simple and is VERY clear about what she expects you to know. Don't waste your $ on a TB. SHe understands all our concerns and if we don't like something she changes it for us :)

BIOB11 is known to be a hard course, but she tries to make it as easy as possible. She explains concepts clearly and concisely; she doesn't bombard students with intricate or unnecessary information. Exams are fair!

I was really worried going into this course because I thought it would be hard, because of the proff who previously taught it but I was fortunate enough for it to be taught by this proff. She explained every concept so clearly and was always willing to improve off feedback to ensure our learning process was the best it can be.

Dr. Thiagavel is just a gem! She cares about her students and would break down all of the big / difficult concepts so she could guide you through the process (e.g., oxidative phosphorylation). Outside class, she listens to criticisms and suggestions which makes the class very dynamic and adaptable. Loves Bey, and a true queen!

She's an amazing prof. She does a great job explaining hard to grasp concepts, especially in B10. Her exams is very fair and honestly the textbook wasn't needed since her lectures cover what she will put on the exam. There's no tricks and I will definitely take another course taught by her

Dr. Thiagavel is the BEST prof/teacher I've ever had. She's so polite, and she cares about every student. She curved our midterm by 10% (even though the class average was pretty normal) JUST because she knew online exams were tougher. She is SOOO good at breaking stuff down and she makes sure everyone can understand everything.

Dr. Thiagavel is the best teacher at UTSC for bio because she legit was a bio student at utsc like us so she knows exactly how the student life is and how to break down info to her students and make the class super enjoyable. Prof Thiagavel is by far the best professor I have had so far. She is excellent at explaining complex topics by breaking them down into understandable pieces. She is also really funny and makes the lectures really entertaining. I will be looking to take more classes with her if I can!

Take every class she teaches, you won't regret it. But seriously, BIOB10 is a hard course with lots of concepts that you have to know. Jeneni is amazing at teaching the concepts, and re-explaining them so that you understand them. Her exams definitely make you think, but if you know your stuff, then they are not that bad.

I love her. She responds to emails fast and it's clear that she cares about her students. 10/10 prof, would love to take classes with her again if I can. She gets what students go through because she was ALSO a UTSC student for undergrad. Dr Thiagavel is passionate and caring and I appreciate her a LOT.

Thiagavel is my favourite prof ever! She was an undergrad at UTSC so she really does get it. Watch out if you take this course in the summer it's just a project, midterm, and final. Make sure you know everything really well, especially any processes.

10/10 the best professor ever. She explains the material very well, and even explains material that we previously learned in prerequisite classes so you only need to know what she says. He exams were a little difficult, but very fair if you go to lecture and study.

She explains everything about the cascading impact from how human activities impact the environment and ultimately the animals and plants to how individuals within species adapt behavioural strategies for survival. Very clear lecturer. Take detailed notes. The infographic project and final exam was a bit tougher. Midterm 40, project 10, final 50

One of, if not the best prof at UTSC. She covers the content in her lectures very efficiently and the content in the test was everything we learned from her lectures. No textbook required for her course, as she covers everything you need to learn for the course in her lectures!

For sure the best professor I've ever had as a student. She's extremely caring and genuinely wants you to do amazing in her class. She takes complex concepts and breaks them down extremely well. For a cell bio class, it didn't feel as difficult or intimidating and that's all thanks to her. I would take this class a million times over just for her.

Breaks down complicated processes well enough that even a toddler could understand, very clear and articulate and always has in the mind the needs of the student as she lectures. Very supportive and positive attitude.

I think I would gladly sell my kidney to have her as my prof for every bio class, she's just that good. Jokes aside she does a really good job at engaging students and keeps lectures interesting. She is literally the best prof for bio classes that UTSC has as she is able to break down hard concepts into something that anyone could understand.

Dr. Thiagavel is probably the best professor I've had at UTSC thus far. She breaks down concepts so everyone can understand and tries to engage students when teaching. The midterm and final exam heavily determine your mark but there is 20% from 2 projects to help your mark. Overall, I 100% would take another course with her.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PROFESSOR AT UTSC!! She is amazing! She breaks down concepts into ways that are understandable to everyone and always makes herself easy to reach! If you study, there's no reason as to why you shouldn't be able to get an A or A+ in this course because she doesn't ever attempt to trick you on her exams. WOULD 100% TAKE AGAIN!

She was genuinely so kind and you can tell she really cares. Lots of care went into the lectures/explanations and the exams were chill, the questions were funny. Would take again! Only critique is the administration of the comic assignment. Grades were issued way after the final without a regrade possibility, the TA provided no feedback either.

Prof Thiagavel is one of the best professors that I have ever had. Her way of teaching shows how dedicated she is to ensuring everyone in her courses gets a great mark. She has processes explained step by step in her slides and gives students the chance to practice explaining them to one another, which I find such a useful way to study.

Ended with an 89. Midterm + exam (90 questions for 3 hrs) was online. Memorize every detail on her lecture slides, which are so simple and uncrowded. If you get the material while she's teaching, you'll easily get an A
