Her classes are fun. She is a great teacher. She really knows what she is talking about, and requires a lot of commitment from students. However, as long as you take time doing your work and turn it in on time you are fine. AND SHE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO HELP: EMAIL, PHONE, ILC, OFFICE, just let her know you need her. :)

She's an awsome teacher! i realy hated writing papers before i took her class, and evern though i still don't really like to write papers, she has made it so much easier to write them. there are three books that you need, but i only ended up usuing 2: the McGraw book on the hacker book...i didn't use the MLA handbook.

Awesome instructor!!! She is always there for her students and will give back what effort you put in. She loves to joke and makes the learning fun, you never know what might come out of her mouth.

Dr. Wolkowski knows her Literature. This class involves a lot of work and reading. You need to know how to write a good paper as well as MLA citation upon entering the class. She is strict and thorough with grading. She has a quick turn around on assignments after they have be graded, which is nice. Over all the class is worth the effort and time.

OMG I loved this teacher!! I looked forward to coming to her class every day and I couldn't wait to hear her jokes. She is nice but expects the best from her students. Her grading is kinda tough but she is fair. Definitley take this class!

Wolkowski is a GREAT instructor and makes the learning fun. She is on top of things & easy to communicate with. She responds to all e-mails in a timely manner. Grading is thorough and turn around time is fast. However, this is not an easy "A" course. You will be expected to read alot, write papers, and know & use MLA citation. It is well worth it.

This instructor is awesome and really enjoys teaching. She does like to joke alot but that is what makes the learning fun and interesting. Be prepared to read & write papers. You will need to put alot of effort into this class do do well but Dr. Wolkowski is fair and is always there to help her students and answer questions or offer suggestions.

ms wolkowski: I take her for american lit II at 6:30 pm and she is wide open full speed ahead. this is going to be a very interesting class. just doo the work and keep up w/readings and and a good grade is assured, but you have to be willing to the work!!!

Had Wolkowski in this previous summer semester. The pace of the courseload was well maintained and resulted in an enormous amount of literature digested. Very rigorous, very self-motivated students are encouraged to take Wolkowski's section. The jokes are a side note to some damn good teaching.

Mrs Wolkowski is an amazing teacher! However she is extremely by the book when it comes to MLA and MLA citation. I can say I enjoyed taking her class and will look into having her teacher my next english course! She is very much A.D.H.D but this is what makes the class exciting =]!

I took Dr. Wolkowski this past summer in a 5 week semester...and boy did I HATE her in weeks 1-2 1/2. But by the 3rd week, I admit, I fell in love with her! She's the best at what she does and she KNOWS this! Be prepared to trade your bible for the MLA Handbook. Trust me! Do your work, read the material, and show up...and you will be fine! Or else!

Having Prof. Wolkowski for English 111 is the greatest thing I've ever experienced. She makes everything, even the most mundane things in the world, hilarious and fun to learn. Beware though, if you are extremely conservative you will probably not care much for her personality. But if you have an open mind, you'll love her personality to bits!

Wolkowski is very funny and she makes class very interesting and sometimes a little odd, but she knows what she is talking about. She is a tough paper grader because she is obviously a major English fan, and you can tell. You will have to work hard on your papers for this class, but it is a very fun class just be ready to work.

A wonderful professor, she is one you would love on the first day. Having her previously, I ended up taking her class again just to enjoy her unique teaching style again! She's a tough grader, but she'll bring out the best of your work.

Dr. Wolkowski is an excellent professor, who is one of the best in her department. I had ENG-231 with a dry, boring teacher, but Wolowski was literally the bipolar opposite. She has a great sense of humor and brightens all of our days. She grades kind of tough, but as long as you ask her after class, she will help you. Time never flew by faster.

Absolutely the best teacher at Wake Tech. I had her for both 111 and now 112, she makes learning fun. I haven't taken an English class in almost 30 years and I have an A average, If you do poorly in her class then you are not trying. She is always available to help, even when she's on break. She really belongs in a 4 year college.. she's that good.

Great teacher! Hilarious and makes you want to go to class. Grades a little hard but is willing to help you step by step in class so that you can make an A. Breaks down papers into sections so that you can understand how to write the paper correctly.

WHOEVER thinks that she "makes up these comments herself" is OBVIOUSLY and idiot. Yes, she does talk about herself some and sex, but heck she wouldn't be awesome if she didn't. Energetic, fun loving, obviously interested in the subject she teaches. Not concerned about being PC, so you can relax and be as honest as you want. She still takes the class very seriously though, and will have high expectations, though she will help you meet them. Big warning: Taking this class over summer is only for the sadomasochists.

As I've said here before: if you like the engrish rangruage, have a sense of humor, and are capable of following directions, the class is great. She's crazy -- but she's good crazy. Managed an A+ in the summer session with about 2-3 hours of homework per week. Just do it. Major chili pepper as well.

Wolkowski is great. She legitimately knows what she is talking about, and teaches it well. She's also hilarious while teaching. Although she won't go easy on you when it comes to grading,and expects you to know the material. Even so, I would love to have her as a teacher again.

By far my favorite teacher! She is SUPER funny and keeps you entertained at all times! Only 3 papers due (none are long) and then the final. She knows what she's doing and is very smart. I absolutely loved this class. She is an awesome teacher, but be prepared, she is difficult. I took this course over five weeks and there was a lot of work and effort that was put into this class. If you are good at english, then you should be fine. If you struggle, I suggest a different teacher.

She is a super interesting and fun person. She makes you want to go to class. She is also a REALLY HARSH GRADER when it comes to the three essays you have to write in ENG 111 (big chunk of your grade). You seriously have to try your hardest and you need already be somewhat good at writing to get even a B.

Incredibly energetic, interesting, and entertaining. If you're having difficulty with an assignment? Go to talk to her and she will help you while she FEEDS YOU CANDY. She certainly can be an intimidating lady sometimes but personally I think that adds to her character. She is fun and makes English enjoyable. Take her class because her teaching style will HELP you in future English classes. I promise you can get an A if you actually work a little. Oh and she always gives out yummy treats!

She is very energetic and likes to put on a show during lecture. I really did not find that appropriate at all. She is very strict about her grading but is easy to meet with. She is very unclear in lecture about what she wanted for papers. Ms.Wolkowski pulls a lot of her homework from the book and it is often turned in for a grade.

Dr. Wolkowski is absolutely amazing!!! In highschool, I thought I was HORRIBLE at writing papers and got C's. When I took her class, she gave me confidence to write and willingness too!! She made me see writing from a very different angle and I LOVE IT. Work hard, participate, attend class YOU WILL GET AN A+. She really cares about her students. :)

The lovely Dr. Wolkowski was my favorite professor in Wake Tech. I took two semesters of English under her, so believe me when I say that she is a good teacher. She will not, however, let you off easy. Dr. Wolkowski is paid to teach. She is not paid to give you the grade you don't deserve. Follow her directions to the tee, and you'll do just fine.

Dr. J was the funniest teacher I have ever had. I am glad I was able to have her as a teacher. She is hard though. Do not take her class expecting an easy A but if you want to have fun and hopefully learn something then she is the teacher for you. Mrs. Wolkowski is very caring but also very stern. There is no room to slack off but ample opportunity to receive help. She makes the subject interesting. The papers are not graded easily but if you visit her office, make the effort, and revise often, you will not fail.

This professor has the utmost consideration for her students&their education. Puts in more time and effort than any professor ive ever taken. Any sabotage done to your grade would be on your behalf, not hers. I'm not the greatest writer and ive never enjoyed or understood English, until this very class. You'd be an idiot not to take her. She is a great teacher! Her lectures are well thought-out and engaging. I found this class to be more helpful than taking ENG 112 or ENG 113.

Professor Wolkowski is truly the greatest teacher I have ever had. The subjects she teaches in 114 are so applicable to real-world situations. She expects a high level of work but she is ALWAYS there to provide great feedback and ideas. I constantly got feedback from her and I currently have an A+. She's funny and easy on the eyes. Perfect Teacher.

If I had to give one reason to take this class---She gives sugar cookies during the final exam! In all seriousness though, their needs to be more teachers like her at Wake Tech. She is provides entertaining lectures and assigns work that is actually useful in day to day life. From your résumé to interviews, you'll be prepared for your next job.

Dr. J is as funny as she is witty. Follow directions, take notes, do course readings, and get help from her, and you will do just fine. She is excellent at capturing the attention of her students. Her knowledge of the curriculum is outstanding. I have a greater appreciation for literature now because of her. Don't miss out on taking her!

She is such a great teacher. I would definitely recommend her. Please, please register for her class. She explains things clearly, she makes students repeat information that are crucial when writing a paper. Students are more than welcome to send her their papers via email for her to check them and give you feed back on them.

She was fun personality wise in the beginning. But later her grading became difficult to maintain because she kept changing the grading total once you got your grades(25 out of 50 then 45 out of 70). She made t harder to do better when she changed things and didn't clarify what late homework was after 2 days(the day it's due, day after). smh

Dr. Wolkowski is an excellent teacher. She is so helpful and HILARIOUS. I take the 8 am class and she definitely makes it enjoyable, fun, and interesting. I have never liked English too much, but with her it is now one of my favorite subjects.

Dr. Wolkowski is funny and sharp. She has obviously worked hard for her title and she will make you work like you have never worked before for that A. She was my first college professor and I loved her. I'm taking Harr for 112, she's best friends with him, and will occasionally check up on me. Cannot say enough good things about her.

She is truly amazing! She is exactly what I look for in a professor. I had her for a 9am class and she kept me awake, alert, and excited . She is firm but fair if you listen and do what is asked of you (not to much) then you will do great. I am an A student typically, so if you don't care about doing your work, it will be difficult. If you care, she cares. Also, she is hysterical. She is one of those teachers who reminds me why I love English.

Mrs Wolkowksi is the best English teacher i've had since high school. she knows the material and walks us through every assignment thoroughly. she helps us keep track of our paper by assigning a certain amount of work each day we meet. She is also very funny so you will never be bored in her class. just be on time and do your work and you'll be ok

Dr. Wolkowski is AMAZING! If you have the chance to take her class, DO IT! She is hilarious which keeps you interested in her lectures. Only test/quiz we did was the final which was just writing letters. Papers are not long; the longest one was 2 1/2 pages. Usually no homework because she lets you do it in class. DO NOT TAKE ENG 112!

The only reason you dropped the class is because you couldn't handle it. Dr. J will tell you right out of the gate what is expected of you. No surprises. Can't handle it? That's YOUR problem. You will work in this class. You will also laugh. You will be put in groups. You will write. You will laugh again! This isn't high school anymore. Grow up.

Great teacher! walks you through all assignments with clear expectations. Always offers Help with office hours and real center hours. Is pretty strict in grading but offers extra credit! Highly reccomend her! Super funny and charming

I took Professor W. years ago but I have not forgotten about the class. She was by far the best teacher I ever had. The class was super difficult; writing is difficult, but I learned so much from her. She always took the time to help out students, was very very specific on what she wanted and always available for office hours. Also entertaining!

This professor really knows the material and will let you know from the start how well you are expected to do in her class, by giving a diagnosis. She gives great feedback and will answer all emails. Her grading can be a bit tough but she will grade fast and let you know exactly what you may have lacked in. She is very funny and kind of hot.

I took her class in a summer 8 week course. It was hard. But she was willing to help. I saw her everyday and always got the help i needed

Dr. J. is an amazing teacher! She is very clear and tells you exactly what you must do to succeed. However, if you don't pay attention, you will most likely fail her class. I came out of this class with a perfect A.

She was great. Always funny and upfront about what she expects from you. Everything was graded on either a 5, 10 or 15 point scale. Very easy to do well as long as you just follow her instructions. I would certainly take her class again.

Dr. Wolkowski is not an easy teacher. You will have to work hard on your essays and read the assigned text thoroughly. She is very fair in grading and will tell you what you did wrong. I received good grades on my papers, but I worked for weeks on them and had many people review them. She has a very good sense of humor and keeps class interesting.

Hands down the best professor I had at Wake Tech so far and she will still help you after completing her class. Attendance and participation is a must. If you invest yourself in this class you will not regret it.

I had English 111 with Wolkowski and enjoyed it immensely, so I decided to sign up for her American Lit 2 class after completing English 112. There were two papers, and honestly, I didn't think they were very challenging. There are some good pieces of literature explored in this class, but frankly, a lot of it was uninteresting to me.

I LOVED DR WOLKOWSKI! she is hilarious & i laughed so much. she really showed that she cares for you. every time i see her on campus she greets me with a smile & a hug! ask for help and she will. def go see her in the real center bc she helps a lot. i always looked forward to her class. its not too hard but you do have to read the book :)

Dr. Wolkowski is probably my favorite English teacher I've ever had! A real teacher & NUTMEGGER! If you don't pass it's because you aren't doing the work she assigns. There's a point in the class where the assignments are given as effort grades, because she's literally going to go over the correct way to do it in class. PS: Read the literatures!!

Dr. Wolkowski is probably the best English teacher at WTCC. She cares about her students and is willing to help you in and out of the class. She is hilarious, kind, and smart. If you have the chance, take her class.

I had Dr. J for ENG 232 in spring 2018 and fall 2016 for ENG 111. She's one of my favorite professors ever: she's incredibly intelligent, immensely supportive, and seriously hilarious. If you love American literature or want to learn more about it, I not only recommend, but implore, that you take it with her. I will never forget this class/Dr. J!

Definitely a little odd, but what English teacher isn't? She's very supportive and is very clear on expectations of the course. I would recommend her for any English course you may be taking with her.

Dr. Wolkowski is a dedicated teacher. She thoroughly explains what is expected, and does everything she can to help her students succeed. She expects you to do your part and work for your grade. That being said, you will definitely come out of her class a better and stronger writer if you take her advice. Highly recommend her!

The best professor at Wake Tech! Lectures are NEVER dull. Dr. W cares about your education, so she always encourages you to do your best and visit the Real Center. As long as you put in the work and manage your time wisely, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't get the grade you want.

She is an awesome teacher; I learned so much in her class. She is honest and straight to the point. Anyone who is saying bad things on here probably didn't do their work which is very unfortunate because she LITERALLY helps with everything.

An amazing and incredible teacher. She really cares about your education and will put forth her best effort to help her students if they put in effort as well. She was fully wide awake at 8am and always made us laugh to help wake us up.

Professor Wolkowski (Dr. J for short) is quite possibly the best professor at Wake Tech. If you appreciate someone with wit, charm, and eccentric sarcasm then this professor is for you! She provides thoughtful intellectual insight on whatever topic is being discussed and always keeps the class engaged with her spicy attitude and charisma. Love her!

Prof. Wolkowski is easily one of the best professors I've ever had! She is absolutely hilarious and genuinely cares about her students. She tells you exactly what she expects and gives you the steps to get there. She was also very helpful during office hours and over email. She made the class very enjoyable.

I LOVE Dr. Wolkowski! She is one of the funniest professors I have ever had. She wants her papers writen very specfically, so if you follow all of her guidelines and seek help at the REAL center and office hours, you will do great on the papers. Made me look forward to going to class at 8 am.

Dr. Wolkowski was amazing when the COVID-19 crisis hit- I was a student without reliable access to internet and she helped me through the difficult transition. She was supportive, funny, and never missed a beat when it came to the never-ending debate between waffles and pancakes. If you take this course, get ready to laugh. She is really amazing!

Started with this class for my first semester back since 2015. Prof. Wolkowski responds to emails all time and quickly. Very helpful when it comes to the papers, can send her your drafts, she will comment on what you should fix for a good grade. Very kind and caring for her students. She definitely makes you work for your grade. The papers are kind of hard, but she gives a lot of step-by-step feedback. Definitely look around blackboard and go in each folder, she has tips and tricks everywhere. She's SUPER easy to contact outside of class (emails in minutes) and is understanding of any personal issues that interfere with class

Professor Wolkowski was amazing. She can grade a but tough but fair. If you are unsure of an assignment you can always email it to her first for feedback. She is very quick to respond to emails even on evenings and weekends. She has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended!

She is really good at teaching and is very clear about her expectations. However, you must put in the work for this class, if you slack off you will NOT get a good grade. She is also nitpicky and attentive to details so you must heavily edit your assignments over and over again before turning in your assignments.

I took Dr. J in ENG-111 as a CCP student. She is an amazing professor and truly cares for her students! I learned much more than any class I have taken for English. Make sure to do the homework on time and read the required material before class, because there are pop quizzes. You will be able to write a college-level paper after this class!

Dr. Wolkowski has a lot of energy for what she does, and that's a huge positive. Homework wasn't always clear (Had to type bullets on a Word document since she always orally spoke it and nothing more), but she's one of the sweeter professors that I've had, and the class environment was probably the best I've ever had because of who was in it.

Prof. Wolkowski was a very fun & sociable teacher. If you follow her schedule for each essay & bring the outlines on the day they're due, you should be set. If you have any questions she will gladly answer them. She also reads everyones drafts before the final due date. She is a tough grader, so do thorough grammar checks before turning in essays.

Dr. J is the best English teacher. I had her for ENG 111 and I am taking her again for ENG 232. The classwork itself takes a good amount of effort, but the expectations are clearly laid out. As long as you meet them, you will be fine. She makes time in class to work with each student individually. She is also very funny and class is never dull.

She is full of energy. Pretty entertaining class. Just be prepared for every class meeting, take notes, and nail down her criteria.

Prof Wolkowski is amazing. You can tell she is a very enthusiastic and genuine teacher. She encourages you to participate in conversations during lectures. She is somewhat of a tough grader. Even though I did recieve an A, I got low As or high Bs on papers I thought I did really well in. However, she does give GREAT feedback.

Super funny lectures! It felt like she had everyone's name memorized by the second 2 class, which really shows she cares about her students. Assignments are very demanding, so not procrastinating is a must. Make sure you bring a laptop! Keep up with the due dates and reach out if you need help and you'll do fine.

Professor Wolkowski would be my first recommendation to new students. I would write so much more if I could. She lays things out perfectly so that beginners can grasp the lecture, and sets you up for success. She is extremely organized, funny, and personable. I cannot say enough good things about her.

Dr. Wolkowski is my favorite professor at Wake Tech. Not only is she entertaining in her discussions, but she's also a very smart educator. Other English professors are simply not as good as Wolkowski. She perfectly planned each day of the semester to be productive and gave us a calendar of the daily itinerary for the entire semester.

I always struggled in academics barely making it through high school, in Wolkowski's class I had the most enjoyable, and practical learning experience. If you think she is too tough, it's because you don't know she's pushing you to solve and learn, because she knows we are capable. Wolkowski is a character of brilliance and humor you cannot forget.

Wolkowski's ENG111 class was a real highlight - her engaging lectures and clear expectations made for an enjoyable learning experience. While the assignments are demanding, using resources like unstuckstudy for study prep was a game-changer. Definitely take her class if you're up for the challenge!

Dr. Wolkowski is a great professor with engaging lectures. She explains how she wants things done and provides examples. I recommend taking her class to improve your writing and be well-prepared for ENG 112. She also writes excellent recommendation letters! I didn't get the best grade in her class, but I walked away with a lot more knowledge.

Dr. W has a heart of gold and is also the funniest teacher I've ever had She's constantly cracking jokes while also explaining the material in an understandable way. Pay attention to how she explains papers and how she wants them set up and the class is a breeze. Would absolutely recommend her class to anybody that wants to actually enjoy English

A great professor. Her lectures are fun, and she is a very funny and engaging person. You spend a lot of time on papers, but you cover a lot in class which helps a lot. Her grading is a little weird at times because she takes points off and doesn't really explain why. But overall, If you do your work, and on time, you will succeed.

Prof W is the best! She gives great lectures and every day you'll learn something new so missing one day can affect a lot. She is definitely a tough grader but if you follow all her instructions, you'll be fine. If english is not your first language then you should consider taking another prof because it's quite difficult to follow her.

Really great teacher, she is pretty funny at times and keeps the flow going. Has a lot of conversations with the class, and she will talk forever.

I've taken Dr.W twice and loved her classes! She's passionate about what she teaches, gives engaging lectures, and keeps things lively in class. Her paper corrections are always common language/grammar mistakes and content issues that every student who expects to write academically will benefit from. I'd take ENG232 again if I could!

I've taken 2 classes from Dr. Wolkowski. I struggle with procrastination but after every class, her lectures make me feel more motivated and interested in doing my work. Ucan tell she is passionate about what she does and that really radiates out and can be contagious in the bestway. If interested in majoring in english then she is truly inspiring.
