She is an awesome professor. Beacuse of her I passed the Cuny Compass Exam and she makes the class fun. She gives lots of work and she expects a lot. She is one of the fewest professor at BMCC who care about her students. Great Job Professor.

Prof. Hirsch is one of the most happiest if that a word person i ever met she loves her job and she takes it serious she is willing to go the extra mile to make sure her student to understand the work she offers tutoring on her free time meanning she doesn't eat she rather teach than eat what teacher would do that I totally recommend her to everyon

She's cute...her exams/quizzes are sloppy as all hell. But the class is somewhat easy. Try not to miss any classes because it can really mess up everything. If you miss one class, you'll regret it because...you'll probably be stuck on the subject that was taught on the day you missed it. And that really sucks.

She is a good professor but not so good at explaining work in details. One of the most hate able thing about her is that she gives you way too much HW and does so little in class. Don't take her, if you're not very good at math.

She is a great prof. Her midterms, test and quizzes are fair. She takes her time to help you. Her grading are fair as well. Just make sure not to be absent too many times.

She's an incredible professional. She's clear and detailed with her explanations. If you didn't get the explanation the first time, she shows you again, but in a bit of a different way. She's so helpful! crystal clear, learned so much from her and now i like math.. if u don't understand something she will help you, gives a quiz every Monday and gives average hw that helps u with the subject, she gives a review sheet for all her midterms and goes over them 1 day before the test. great teacher im taking her again next semester! =]

Very kind prof, but gives quite a lot of hw, which is good for practice. Her quizzes are hard, midterm are fair. Don't take her if u don't want too much HW (she does give u a whole week to do them tho, like every Monday she will collect them). Overall, she is fun, smart & a very F-I-N-E young prof. Note, she likes to challenge student w/math prob.

Dr Hirsch made pre cal easier for me. She's a really good professor, and you won't be bored trust me. You're constantly learning something, and plus she keeps up attended with her silly jokes. She also gives us a lot of opportunities to get our grades up! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Great Prof.! The material is tuff but she goes out her way to help everyone. Never seen a professor that is as dedicated as she is. She always ask students to go to her office for more help. She even gave 2 xtra review sessions on her personal time for the final, which then made it easy. By the way I am Horrible @ math. Take her she is awesome...

Honestly,I still hate the math,but in Hirsch's class I even forgot about it!She is an awesome professor!She gives lots of HW,but that's ok.Just try to be in class;otherwise you'll regret it.

She is not easy, but GOD is she effective. When I do end behavior I still say "JAZZ HANDS". She is very helpful, and organized, and explains the concepts really well. She does give a lot of HW and quizzes. But It's useful for studying. She is not unnecessarily difficult. and I wish I could take her again.

Best professor I've ever had @ BMCC & I'm not just saying that. She makes math so easy and is very clear with explaining the material. She does give quizzes and hw every week but they're easy b/c you won't find anything that you didn't learn in class.

Sring13- Best math professor , she gives homework every week and this course we saw her once a week and she gave us a quiz every week and asked us if you need help and went over the hw , she is a very great professor , highly recommend her

Very organized and clear. This class covers a lot of material and with Prof. Hirsch, you can do it with real understanding and confidence. Don't miss class and do the homework. Tests are from the school (Midterm and Final). Quizzes every Monday. You will learn and Prof. Hirsch is great!

BEST MATH PROFESSOR! Prof. Hirsch is so passionate w/ her work & really cares about her students. I had enrolled for Pro-Cal over the summer & had difficulties. Saw her at the math lab, withdrew & enrolled in her fall semester. REALLY HELPFUL, LOOKS OUT FOR HER STUDENTS & NICE. Cons- quizes every week but they're helpful and assure your knowledge.

she is always helpful but only thing i hate about she only considers midterm and final. Eventhough i had 100% on home work and never missed a class, i got C just because i didnot do well in midterm.

Prof. Hirsch is a gem. She extends her love of math and clear understanding of math to her students. I cannot say enough good things about her. Material is difficult though and you will have to work, but the most important thing about Prof. Hirsch is that she gives you confidence about math because she is a great teacher.

Professor is the best! Although her test may be hard for some students, she's really there for you if you have questions. I'm good in math but always went to her office hours to assured my knowledge. She's one of the best math professors in this school. She will extend her hand or whatever needed for you to understand the material.

Prof Hirsch is a great teacher. The material is indeed hard and very irrelevant to most majors but i blame that on the college and cuny establishment. Nevertheless, Prof Hirsch is funny and very clear in teaching. Her tests challenges you however and i feel it doesn't have to cause most students don't major in math. The quizzes are also annoying,

Dr. Hirsch is amazing. She methodically goes through the material. She is very patient with students who do not get it right away. Everyone in our class seemed comfortable speaking up. We laughed in class a lot. You have to be in class to understand it. It is so much easier to understand the material from her than from the text (we used WebAssign).

Hirsch is a really good math professor. Always gives Extra credit options before Quiz. She gave us free access code for online homework page, which i think is awesome. Her Quiz questions are fair. We have Quiz every Monday, which is very helpful. She explains everything clearly and does not rush with the topic. She is a reasonable prof.

Simply the best math professor I have ever had. Took her last semester, and I seriously miss her. I wish she could teach all of my math courses, I know I will learn from her. Professor Hirsch is THE BEST. The second best math professor Ive had at BMCC. She explains everything accurately enough for you to understand. She sends h.w every class but honestly it helps out a lot. Your grade will be based on your h.w, quizzes, midterm and final exam. If you have to take statistics, DO NOT hesitate to take her.

She is the best math professor that I ever had. I took this class online. Professor Hirsch is really organized, she prepare every lecture and post it on blackboard, she is really good explaining math problems. Every few chapter you will have a quiz, midterm and final exam.

This is the best math professor I've ever had, I took her for Math 56 and her lectures are amazing!!!! She made even the most difficult concepts seem simple, she also doesn't make you pay for anything in her class. She's is all you could ever want in a professor. Please take her ESPECIALLY if you struggle with math.

If you have 0 intelligence in math and want to learn while enjoying it take her. I loved coming to class everyday and i was never good in math but after taking her course i got the knowledge and became a pro and confident in math. THE BEST IN BMCC !!

Dr. Hirsch will go beyond measures to make sure you understand Algebra and Trigonometry; that's what I loved about her. She's very clear in explaining each solution step by step. If you have any concerns over anything, Dr. Hirsch is always available to help you and will set you up to be successful in upper-level math at BMCC.

Professor Hirsch is the excellent person of BMCC, with orderly teaching materials and teaching methods. She always has enough patience to remind each student what to do. But her quizzes was difficult. In addition, there are extra credits for homework.

Professor Hirsch is a gem, I suck at math and she really taught me not to only understand it but to even appreciate it. Homework can be tedious at times but she drops your lowest quiz and homework grades. She's accessible outside the classroom and very understanding. If you have the chance do not hesitate on taking her class.

Professor Hirsch is my favorite! I took her for Spring 20' Mat56 and loved her so much that I took her online for Mat206 during the summer. She gives lots of feedback and cares about her students. She is practical with due dates, and she gives a decent amount of homework and quizzes. She is definitely well knowledgable, and I HIGHLY recommend her!!

Dr. Hirsch is a wonderful professor. As an older student, I was really intimidated by this class initially, but Professor Hirsch made herself accessible. Her teaching style is very easy to understand. She is a natural educator.

Her asynchronous lectures were very thorough. There was quite a bit of homework and I didn't care for the quizzes, but if you take the time to go through the lectures, she covers everything.

Took her fall 2024, what can I say she's amazing and very caring. I loved her hilarious math poems, she's there for all her students. the homework (once a week) wasn't bad and a couple of quizzes. I am going to miss being in this class but I wish her the very best. 5/5 stars!! EXCELLENT MATH TEACHER TAKE HER

Her analogies in understanding the graphs and trigonometry is helpful for the students. And she is so energetic at her age that she kind of flies the whole class solving and teaching. This can be one of your best classes.

What a gifted and enthusiastic professor Dr. Hirsch is! She's very enthusiastic about math and in our well being. Had too heavy a load and test anxiety didn't help so my final was terrible but she's easily one of the best teachers I've had in my life. Sign up early and make sure you get her. She's one of the best in her profession.

Professor Jenna is my favorite professor in BMCC, her teaching style is very inspiring. She explains everything in a very easy and realistic way, she is very patient when you don't understand, she will stop and explain again. Highly recommend you to take her class.

Prof Hirsch is obviously extremely passionate about math. I loved the way she explains things and if you don't understand then she'll help you understand. Sometimes the class was a bit fast for me but I think that's just because I'm not the best at math.

Asynchronous LOVE Professor Hirsch. Every week there are two lessons, she includes a recorded lecture and a printout so you can follow along with the lesson. Discussion board every week and quizzes every two weeks. she really made this course enjoyable. This was my last math course of my degree very glad it was done with Professor Hirsch.
