I hate this subject, but I loved this class. I was dreading taking it. I had such a great time with Prof. VanCuren. I had fun and learned all at the same time. I will recommend her to all the people I can. Thanks to her I put my best toward this class.

I took the class with her because i screwed up my class before so i had to do it again but i did enjoy her class she is very intelligent and humurous i chose her eng 112 for next semester too.

I was a classmate of hers while she was getting her degree. I knew from the start she would be a GREAT teacher. She was always thoughfull and caring in every project we did together. We had at least three classes together. Great job J.V.

I dreaded taking English, especially because I had to take it during summer semester, But Mrs.V taught me that writing does not have to be painful. She provided great examples that helped me relate topics to the real world. I took so much out of this class!

Great teacher!!! Easy but very fun and nice. Makes learning fun and is very willing to work with you if there is a problem. I took her for 111 and am taking her for 112. As long as you turn papers in and participates then you will be fine!!

Professor Vancuren was the best professor Ive had at LFCC!! She is extremely helpful and nice. I took 3 of her classes if that means anything. Take her class, you will not regret it! :)

Professor VanCuren is the best teacher LFCC has. She finds a way to engage her students and make English class fun. She will take the extra step if needed to help you be successful. I love her personality and her sarcastic attitude. I appreciate a teacher who doesn't count their successes monetarily but by the minds they reach :)

I have had VanCuren since Eng 11, and she has been one of the best professors at LFCC. Although she is not strict on homework and late work ( most professors NEVER accept late work), you will still learn a lot and will enjoy going to class. I good class to take to boost one's GPA

She is hilarious and has a GREAT sense of humor! I will miss taking her class after I finish 112! I HIGHLY recommend her! There is no one else I would ever take. :)

Keeps you interested very fun and personable. She makes learning American Lit fun. She is definatley a cutie too. She interacts very well with the class and keeps everyone entertain while helping everyonje learn. Need an English class? Look for her and you wont be disappointed

I never really liked English until taking her class! She has a great sense of humor and makes you actually want to come to class! You won't be disappointed taking her! Overall easy class if you do everything. She is very helpful and will make an impact on everyone she teaches. Will absolutely miss her!

So this Prof. is perfect. You are fool if you don't take her class. Shes drop dead wonderful. I ended up missing a lot of classes for personal reasons and still was able to pass with an A+.... Let that sink in.

Professor VanCuren is really great. She took my writing to a whole new level and really is a fantastic teacher that creates a good environment to succeed. She is very personal and knows your name within the first 2 weeks of class. She grades tough and really is a teacher that challenges your best effort, but this makes you so much better in the end

For a required ENG class that I had very little interest in, Vancuren made the class kinda fun. She finds ways to make it interactive, interesting, and funny. As long as you participate and do most of the classwork, its really easy to get an A or at least a B. The essays are graded harshly but I averaged less than 60% on them and I still got an A

Prof VanCuren was the best! She is so nice and always willing to help if you have a question with something you don't understand. She gives pop quizzes mostly every class but you should be fine if you read the stories assigned. 2 tests (mid term & final) and if you're in class the day of the review, you are guaranteed to pass those tests with an A!

She has a great sense of humor (she has a dry sense of humor sometimes, but she is just joking, so don't take it the wrong way). She will go out of her way to meet with you & help you. She really wants everyone to succeed, but she does expect you to do your work and be respectful (turn your cell phone off!). I like her & want to take ENG 112 w/her.

Prof. VanCuren was a wonderful instructor to have for a freshman English course. You did use the book & you were quizzed on the readings, but they were relevant for the class. She was clear on papers and did one-on-one sessions when she would pass back the papers. She was both a good professor and a sweet person. Taking her again next semester!

Without a doubt the BEST teacher I've had so far while attending LFCC. So nice, gives clear directions and the class is not hard at all. If you sign up for ENG 111-112 make sure you have Jenni!!

Prof. VanCuren is amazing! I have become a better writer because of taking her class. She is a tough grader but she also has you submit your papers to the writing center and that really helps to catch a lot of mistakes. She is very funny! Make sure that you participate and know that you will be working with your classmates ALOT! She is wonderful!

One of the best English professors/teachers that I have ever had! She makes the class quite ease and is MORE than willing to work with her students! As for attendance, she allows you to miss five classes without penalty. Choose wisely! Very clear on directions and makes essays very easy to write. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Professor VanCuren is a gem of a professor. I recommend her to anyone who will listen. She is very flexible in her teaching, is very helpful to those who are struggling, and makes her class interactive and fun. I took her class ENG111 and ENG112, and I do not regret a dime of the money spent on her course.

Jenni VanCuren is the best English professor I've had. Although you have to read a lot in her class, it pays off in the end. She really does care about her students and is ready to help at any time! I actually met her in person and she is the sweetest thing ever! You really learn in her class and I would recommend her to anyone!

I always hated English, writing papers and reading, but Prof. VanCuren made the class not so boring like other classes and easy to learn from. She helps every step of the way when it comes to writing papers for class, midterm and final exam are super easy. Class participation is a must, read along with the power points and you're good to go.

Professor VanCuren was helpful and was available when needed for questions. The weekly discussions were different each week and kept the discussions interesting and lively, rather than boring. I wish I was closer to her area so I could've taken her ENG 111 and 112 courses.

Professor VanCuren made the material simple and she was very patient when you needed help from her. In my opinion, the class was almost a little too "introductory" but then again it is ENG 111. Overall, I recommend her class because you're writing will improve, but the workload isn't intense. Don't skip though, attendance is factored in at the end.

Prof. VanCuren is an awesome professor! She is very passionate about Literature and cares about her students. Class Participation counts so speak up during class. You will write a research paper as well as 2 analysis papers but she explains what she expects. Mid term and final exams are awesome because she goes over the material the class before.

Prof. VanCuren was amazing! She was hysterical and this class was amazingly enjoyable. She had pop quizzes periodically to force you to keep up with the reading, which is great. If someone's phone rang, she would make them bring a treat for the class for the next session. On the third day of class, we got donuts because of a student. She's great!!

Love her! I'm waiting a semester to take my next English class to get her again. Her lectures are entertaining and always have a fun twist. She's kind and will help with anything if you reach out.

One of my favorites and I will never forget. I made a point to talk to her after my semester with her ended ! Class was awesome, only thing I didnt like was the maturity or lack of in the classroom (other students) I wish people would take college more seriously overall. JVC will be a professor you will want to stay in contact with forever !

I LOVED prof. VanCuren. She is a great teacher and just wants the best for her students. She is very easy to understand and helps out whenever you need it. Show up to class and participate, do your reading homework to prepare for pop quizzes, and do corrections on your papers, you will be great! 100% would take it again!

I am doing this class online and she is still great. She posts a lecture once a week along with the assignments for that week. She makes clear what needs to be done, and provides all the reading materials for you. As long as you do everything by the due date you should not have a problem passing.

I was scared that I was going to do a bad job in this class. Prof. VanCuren made it easy, she helped when i had questions, she make things clear, and handed us back quizzes and essays. Best class, and professor, ever!

Okay listen.. Professor VanCuren is not going to give you a grade, you'll work for it. She's a tough grader, gives a ton of work. BUT! She will help as much as she can, and you'll be a better student after taking her class. Don't put off assignments, give this class your all and you will pass!

Expect to be academically challenged, but expect to emerge from her classes as an improved student and person. I have had professors ignore my emails before, but she is not one of them. She goes out of her way to help student succeed. Her instructions and feedback are detailed and clear. I have the utmost respect for Professor VanCuren.

Vancuren is the best and would recommend! Class is easy if you do the work. Lectures are short sweet and to the point. She grades fair. She cares and is willing to help her students instead of leaving them stranded.

Wonderful professor and is very passionate about literature. I was nervous to take this course because I have never been good at literature but I learned so much and actually enjoyed it. Professor is very organized, on time, and provides great lectures. You will have to work hard to get the grade you want. Prof. VanCuren wants you to do well!

I took VanCuren for 111, 112, and 241. Never will take another prof again until i go to a university. She does not use textbook, rarely any tests. essays are super easy and feedback is always clear and straight to the point. Easiest english classes i have ever taken, amazing teacher

At first, Professor VanCuren's class stressed me out due to the frequent pop quizzes; however, you learn what to study and how to do well on those quizzes. She is by far the toughest essay grader I have ever had, so be prepared to work extremely hard on them. Additionally, her lectures were actually fun and she is very funny.

Professor VanCuren is an overall amazing instructor. I highly recommend her! Be ready for pop quizzes. They are super easy though, all you gotta do is pay attention and the readings. The quizzes are usually 5 questions. We have 3 papers and a music video assignment. I am personally not a big literature person, but I would definitely take again!

Professor VanCuren is a tough professor, but you can definitely work with her if you stay on task in a timely matter. DEADLINES are important!! She will tell you. I really enjoyed her lecture, the workload and reading are good. Unfortunately, I had to drop her course due to a family emergency but I will definitely enroll in her class again!

Fantastic professor, useless class. If you are considering taking HUM 298 with Professor VanCuren, make sure you have the time for it every week. Seriously, HUM 298 was unnecessarily time-consuming and repetitive. Do EXACTLY what the rubric says on every assignment, and you will pass the class.

Professor VanCuren was a great Teacher! Homework is very easy as long as you do the reading and participate in class. Participation is a high percentage of the grade, but the professor gives many opportunities and is more than happy to help out. I highly recommend taking one of her classes if you get the chance!

I've had her for 2 classes and I'm taking 2 more in the fall. Even though these classes are 8am, I'm willing to wake up and make the drive. She is understanding, her lectures are interactive, and she gives out extra cred. I got 5 points of extra credit on final. Also her exams are extremely easy, she gives you the answers in the study powerpoint.

One of the best classes I have taken in my years here. Prof VanCuren is funny, knowledgeable, and loves the subject she teaches. She makes learning fun and interesting. She makes you feel like you are worth her time to teach. Participation is big. She is always available for help; her tutor policy is ridiculous but the good outweighs the bad.

I would recommend Prof. VanCuren to anyone and everyone. She's willing to help and is super accommodating. The content was interesting and the weekly assignments were not the most boring thing I've ever done. Discussion boards every week which is annoying, but it's not terrible. She truly wants her students to succeed. 10/10 professor.

She is fun, perky, and engaging. She is a good teacher but is not very accommodating. If you don't like the group or subject you get drafted into for group projects there is no willingness from her to change under any circumstances.

I took VanCuren for both Eng 112 and Eng 246. As long as you attend class and keep up with the readings and pay attention in class you will be fine. When she puts out a due date keep note of it. Also don't feel shy about going to her office hours and asking for help it has definitely made my grades on essays improve significantly.
