Knows a lot, likes comments. Long powerpoint lectures weekly. Study guide questions are same as test questions. She answers them one by one in class. Tests are open notes/book. Can get A's on tests without doing any reading if you show up to class. Occasional hw - can be done in 15 min.
this is such a easy class. you can get a A for almost doing nothing. she is very nice and loves to teach and makes her class easy for all.
She's super cool. The most easiest class ever. You really don't do much in class. She give out answers before midterm, and her midterma are exactly in the study questions. easy A.
She is so easy, loves what she does. Our whole class got A's and B's. Very easy class.
Great teacher for a great class! Her exams are very straight forward, you'd have to be a retard to not do well. She's not a demanding teacher and has genuine concerns for her students. There is a subtle "carefulness" in her topics, because she doesn't want to offend anyone. Her topics do touch on issues that most people blindly take for granted.
She is the greatest teacher I ever had. Her class is easy. As long as you do your hw, and then you receive full credit. Dr. Adderson wants to teach students not give students hard time as other teachers do. I strongly recommend her.
Great professor! I loved the lectures and the class was easy if you took good notes since she has open book exams. If you never had an interest in Anthropology you definitely will after this class. She is super nice and grades reasonably.
easy class, very entertaining. lots of video clips.
Do the work, get your A, and learn far more than you would expect to in this sort of class. Great lectures, never enough time to get everything in that she wants to, good selection of readings, and a great attitude towards teaching.
Greatest teacher everrrrrR
Do well on quizes and research paper, do all the readings/homework, and you get an easy A!!!
Loved her class. Professor Anderson is very organized, clear, and approachable. Quizzes are graded promptly. She def. makes the class interesting and worthwhile.
She is the most awesome teacher you can ever take! Not only will you learn more than you would in some other boring class, this class is easier than you can imagine. Seriously, I am telling you now you cannot imagine how easy the class is. It was the easiest class I have taken at SJSU. Plus she added about 15 people, myself included.
Easy is an understatement. Grammar school kids could ACE her class but I am not complaining. Its funny how she seems to be so amazed on how well the class is doing on quizzes when she gives the answers right before the quiz. If u take any other upper GE course other than hers, you are an idiot!
Easiest GE class to take. Open book quiz/tests. Interesting cultural lectures. Videos. VERY EASY. Very popular class to take too. 30 enrolled over summer, 20 tried to add....she took all 20. My first A+ in my 4 years here.
Open notes quizzes (only 3) and just one research paper and a group poster. Great teacher. anyone can make a A.
Dr. Anderson was a very nice woman. Highly recommended. Her style of teaching is a power point lecture and it can get very tedious sometimes. But her quizzes and exams are all open notes! Be sure to turn in her EASY assignments. She doesn't grade on whether or not you've accurately completed the exercises. She just gives you credit for doing it.
Dr. Anderson is nice and very intelligent. She likes what she's teaching and you can tell. She's very enouraging and helps you with your class projects and essays. I recommend her.
heard she got harder, but still easy compare to other teachers. A lot of assignments but they are all very easy. She's VERY easygoing on due dates, but just be honest cause she can tell if you're taking advantage of her kindness. Midterm/final - easy, she asks you the SAME EXACT questions during the review session - so go to the review sessions.
Easy class
Very interesting and enter-taining lectures. She discusses cultural issues that are not well known. Good insight into culture and although she has some opinions and expresses them, the class is not overtly political. I would recommend it for a student who is interested in travel,a unique look at the world from the perspective of an anthopologist.
Class is fairly interesting but lectures can be a little dry. She doesn't move around or encourage interaction that much aside from a semester long group project, which is fun and easy. She's pretty flexible with deadlines and is full of knowledge when it comes to teachings. Grading is pretty fair and easygoing if you attend class regularly.
She is one of the most helpful professors at SJSU. Always willing to extend deadlines and accepts late work. Just don't abuse the system. Lectures are very dry, but manageable. Midterms and final are a breeze as long as you kept up with your notes. Not much else to say other than if you need to fulfill a GE - take her courses.
Her class is very easy. The work does seem alot for the first few weeks but they're very easy. Just make it up and you'll get full grade. There no need to take notes for her class. Just show up on the review day and write down the answer. Her research and presententation is eazy!! Her lecture can get pretty boring and dry. Who cares right?
Prof. Anderson is a fair teacher. She is a lecturer (talks fast and doesn't go back on slides) but she has study guides available and her tests are very easy if you go to the review. Beware her trade project. Not very clear. Also not very helpful at resolving student issues. Other than that, I would definitely take another class with her. Easy grader.
Professor Anderson is one of my favorite teachers. Really understanding when it come to late work, attendance, and missed classes. Lectures are pretty interesting and tends to keep you awake. Her teaching and lecturing style differs from other teachers in a unique sense & I would take another class that she'll teach. Recommend ANTH25 for Frosh
Very friendly and approachable. She does take attendance but class lectures on slides are easy to follow. I recommend bringing a laptop to take notes because she sometimes flips through slides quickly. All quizzes and tests based on lectures. Essay easy.
EASY class. She is nice and knows alot about what she teaches. Ultimately, you dont need to come to class all the time. A few small papers but EVERY PAPER is mostly about yourself so it is super easy. She is also an easy grader and lets you turn in assignments late :)
Great teacher, she's very open-minded and smart. The class is also very easy. But over all, I'd take any class of hers.
Very easy. Just read the handouts and do the essays, and you will pass her class.
great professor. easy going, open minded, definitely knows what she's talking about. recommended--
Great professor! The class is interesting. She taught a lot about other people's culture and the concens of our environment. I love the Global Project Fair we did. Take her! Do all the work she assigned, attend class, and you'll off with at least a "B". Don't need the book!
great professor. she knows her stuff and is very easygoing. she cuts poeple cuts slack and is very forgiving. just do the work and you will definitely pass the class.
Good teacher knows her stuff and is very informative, relatively easy class, there's some small writing assignments but they're about yourself so it's not that hard, she gives study guides for midterm and final and if you study that you'll be fine I ended up with an A-
Good teacher, class was not too boring or hard. I learned a lot and just do your work and know all the right answers to the study guide for midterm and final and you will be fine.
Professor Anderson is great. Her lectures are very informative and clear. She gives a study guide for midterms and final which makes them easier. The midterm/final are open note. One big project that is split into different parts which makes it easier. She is not a hard grader. Overall she is a great professor and I learned a lot from this class!!!
Not too hard, not too easy, very informative, lectures can get kind of boring at times cause she uses powerpoints and then just talks, just do all your portfolio writing assignments, work hard on your study guide for the midterm and final and you will do fine.
Nice teacher, lenient but not an easy A cause there's work you have to do,and make sure you pay attention to the videos she shows you, and pay attention to her lectures as well.
Good professor, learned a lot class was not too boring not too hard
Great Professor. Very Informative and descriptive. She knows what she is talking about which makes the class much more enjoyable. Do all the pages and you will get an A. She doesn't grade hard, she just wants to know you're putting in the work. Her class made me much more interested in Anthropology.
FOR GRADUATING SENIORS. This is not one of those classes that requires no attendance or effort. She will put you to work so choose your elective wisely.
very interesting prof and class. she makes it as easy as possible. grade is based on several papers which pretty much ask about your life and your thoughts, very easy. open book midterm and take home final. def recommend her
She is very easy. I didn't bother showing up to class much or I just fell asleep in class. There's a book required but I never bought it or read it. Midterm is open book and open note and final is take home. Most assignments are just biography about yourself so it isn't that hot. This class was pretty easy.
Very good professor. Knows the material and makes her classes very interesting. Assignments are actually fun to do and midterm and final are open book/take home.
She us a great teacher. She is very passionate about the subject and about teaching so it makes you want to go to class. She's one of those rare profs that actually care about her students. She does not give much homework at all!!! She only gives two tests in Anth25, an open note midterm and a take home final. Taker her, you won't regret it!
I really enjoyed this course. It had a lot of interesting material. She was very friendly and helpful.
Awesome teacher and learned a lot. Her lectures are pretty cool and HW is fun. Lots of work every week, but manageable. Midterms and Final is open notes, so what more can you ask for? Take her if you can get in.
Interesting class, a nice break from a buisness major. There is a lot of work, easy and pretty fun. If you complete the assignments you are most likely going to get 100% on it. DO KEEP UP on the study guide questions, they are the exact questions on the midterm and final, and you can use all your notes! She wants you to do well! very nice!
One of the easiest classes ever!! Both the final and midterm are open note so as long as you take notes for each lecture then an A is granteed. Also there writing assignments *THAT MUST NOT BE SKIPPED*, these opinions are required to pass the class. Besides being an easy class for anyone the teacher is really nice and approachable for help
Easy A & you learn! Very understanding to reschedule exams or group project presentations. 1 semester group project she assigns groups. Meeting in class is sufficient. Do all the HW to get an A. 2 exams are open notes. No need to go to class if your friend took her before or if you get the lecture notes from the library reference binder. Take her
Very easy A class. She tries to be neutral and fair but is a bit of a zealot (e.g., she thinks FGC is horrible but is ok with male circumcision... Yeah, right). A bit of a hetero**** too. I never thought a human sexuality class would be boring, but it was.
I LOVE this teacher. Go to class, take notes, watch an occasional movie, and you'll be fine. Little homework but very easy. Before the midterm she passes out a study guide that has all the questions on it and in addition to that, we have class time to ask her for the answers, then, we get to use that study guide for the test! Final is take home. This class isn't just easy, it's very fun and interestig as well.
She is a teacher that does not believe in memorizing. So, the midterm and final is open-note. She lectures on powerpoint, and it can be boring at times. She assigns portfolios that can be finished in a couple of hours. However, one must do all the assignments to get an A. She grades based on effort. This class is an easy A.
Very easy and interesting class. The final and midterm are take home and they are opinion questions on hot topics in society so they are very easy.
I'm not an anthropology major, but I learned more in this class than all my years in college. This class should be required for everyone. Not only did I learn a lot, I had a lot of fun. You'll love the documentaries and movies. Take her!
Very nice and easy professor. Her midterm is basically all the notes on her website and so on. The final is take home also which makes the class more manageable.
Great professor! Four short papers, open-note tests w/study guides, and a take home final. Though she does not require memorization, I've learned and retained more from her than any other class I've taken. Very open-minded, helpful, and accessible through email. Not an Anthro major but so glad I took a class with her before graduating!
Pretty much all the essays and midterm/final you can answers without even buying the book or going to class because they are just questions regarding yourself and how you feel about things. She even lets you turn in things way late and still get full credit. Plus, it's a take-home final..
Attendance counts, but not much. Ppts are boring, but have interesting facts. HW essays are purely about you and your life (very easy). Accepts late work for full credit. Just borrow the book right before the final, no need to purchase. Easy A!
Extremely easy class. She is kind of a monotone teacher but the material is interesting. It's a power point class so sit tight. There is a lot of work but it's not hard. There is so many points involved in the class work that it almost offsets the tests. The tests are not hard and are open note. This is a must take for your advanced GE's.
Very good teacher, she knows the what she is teaching. She uses the book plus outside reading online. 4 short essays (easy), study guide that she take her exam questions off of and you can use notes on exams.
She is a nice person who is passionate about what she teachers. The choosing a path written assignments are a pain in the but are helpful later on. Midterm and final easy. Lecture does not align with assigned reading so that was confusing. The topics covered were stressful. Okay class for area E. I would recommend her but I wouldn't seek her out.
The class was pretty disturbing at times, other classes would be interesting though. Overall i liked her. She was nice and helpful.
I loved her as a teacher. Only one book and its easy to read and is cheap, only required for a question on the test. Lectures and reading are all you need to do and its only one article a night. Super easy and interesting. She tries her best to keep your interest. Each lecture is on a life phase, you can pass without the readings. TAKE HER!
Easiest A ever. Attend lecture as she takes attendance into account for borderline grades. The lectures are usually interesting. Didn't really have to read the book, but it may change for future classes. One midterm on which you are allowed ample material for use and a take home final exam. If you're a decent writer this class will be a breeze.
Anderson is a really good teacher, easy A as along as you do all your work. Theres a lot of assignments but they are easy, mostly based on a group project. 2 exams and one final. Not stressful at all as long as you attend all her classes and make sure to go to the library and get her lectures!! very helpful. Very easy going and loves what she does!
Easy A as long as you do HW that are simple writing assignments based on "career path". Lectures are very interesting and you learn a lot of new stuff, but tests and final are short response based on supplied reading. Couple of movies watched in class that had a test question or two. As long as you're a decent writer, you'll be OK in this class.
Do the essays. They are 100% your grade. There is one due every 2 weeks and then a interview with a person in your career. The lectures are long and can range to super boring to very interesting. GO TO CLASS. She grades on attendance. VERY nice lady, easy grader. Watch out for the midterm and final, they can be tricky. Don't do the reading.
easy grader when it comes to hw and assignments but midterm grades will pull ur grades down no reading necessary as long as you submit the weekly assignments that are due.
By far the best professor at sjsu she is passion on what she teaches she wants her students to learn. She give a lot of assignment but it only to make you a better writer!!! Please take her!
Professor Anderson loves what she does and is clearly passionate about global cultures. For the midterm, she chooses 10 study questions from about 100 that you are given throughout the semester. Her online course receives an unfair advantage as they are allowed to have all their notes on each question. the in person class only gets a 3x5 note card.
In person class gets only 3x5 card and the study questions comes up to around 130 questions. Midterm includes 10 of those questions in study guide. Good luck trying to remember those questions. Wish she made it open note like in the previous years.
Her Canvas Modules are a bit unorganized. She lectures very fast and you will miss some info. Do all the assignments to pass. Don't take if you don't like group projects. Exams will bring your grade down. 3x5 card is kind of useless for the exams because she doesn't tell you exactly what will be on the exam. Library course reserve was outdated.
She has her own power point slides which are very informative, but she does not allow anybody to view them outside of class unless you go to the library. If you show up and take notes, guaranteed pass. Tests are relatively easy
Powerpoints are not online, you have to go to the library for them (go early and photocopy them or write them down). Do the study guide questions. The project was easy (as long as your group works on it and doesn't bs it last minute). Would take again. Did not use the textbook at all.
You only need 2 things to get an A in this class. Good rote memorization or small enough handwriting to put all your study guide questions, all 120 of them onto a small 3x5 flash card.
The class is fine and she is a nice lady. Grades fairly, and subject is interesting. My only gripe is that she used the classroom to spread her political ideology and complain about Trump. She used her lectures to bring him and conservative policies up in a - light. This stoped about 1/2 way through the semester though so maybe it isn't her MO.
Bearable amount of homework. There are about 10 questions after every lecture, and the questions are easy. Catch up with the modules and you will do just fine for the tests. There is a short essay due every week, but it's nothing too hard. Very responsive to questions and emails. Grades fast and she gives clear feedback on your papers.
There are lots of small essays (approx. 500 words) & one longer, multi-part assignment. If you are a good writer, you'll be fine. She provides detailed feedback on all your homework: read the comments & take her advice! Her lectures can go by fast but they are very informative. Midterm is based off a study guide & you get a note-card.
There are a lot of essays, typically 1 per 2 weeks, but they're somewhat easy. She's a nice lady but . . . her lectures are really fast, sometimes boring, and you gotta struggle to keep up. Midterms and the final are what you need to worry about most, as they can pull your grade down significantly. Would I take her again? Nah I'm good bro
Easy grader, you'll just be planning your future for HW. The lectures are basically Home Ec, Sex Ed, and Asian Culture combined. There are movie days.
Not enough points in this class. The final was worth 100 points and can drop you one to two letter grades. I had an A in the class and worked really hard on the final and got a D- on it, and ended the class with a B-. SUPER easy class, mostly 500 word essays. Take it if you can but watch out for the final, it's take home tho!
Took online. Super easy and straight forward. Assignments roughly once a week. 2 midterms and a final. 120 question study guide given per midterm but her midterm is literally 10 questions from the study so easy A if you do the study guide. Easy A if you do the work. 1 group project online kinda. It's more individual work.
There is a lot of work for this class. I mean what do you expect it's a writing course. I don't enjoy writing, but she is so helpful. She leaves comments and helps all her students increase their writing ability. There is one essay you work on the entire semster. Also there is a 3 point quiz each class and it adds up. So it's imporant to show up.
Homework throughout the semester consists of writing 300 word essays that will all be combined as your final paper at the end of the semester. After every PPT, she provides 10-12 study questions that will be used for exams. I answered the questions after every PPT and used those answers to copy and paste in the exams (which she allows). Very fair!
