Makes a lecture class interesting and doesn't seem like you're in a huge lecture hall. Drew picutres of UFOs on a slide one day while doing reviews for a test. Good times.

HARD TESTS!!! you have to get used to the testing style she has. She makes you connect all the information we learned and apply it to problems. Better once you get down the testing style.

don't buy the book- you'll never need it. but if you do get the book buy it online. her tests are different but they are not as hard as she says they are. try to get into a study group as that will help you understand the topics better. just take some notes in class and read her powerpoints and you'll do just fine.

Wonderful professor! She makes a class of 180 students feel like a class of 20-I recomend her to anyone who doesn't like science-she'll make it fun for you anyway! Great class! Her tests are hard...but you get used to them!

Prof Anderson is nice and tries hard, but what the hell is wrong with the Physics prof she shares an office with? He's always grumpy and occasioanlly gives Prof. Anderson "the bird" (whatever that is...)

she's really cool. the most laid-back prof I've ever had. her tests aren't that bad, mult choice and some short answer. some hands on. class discussion. it was a good class, very interesting and she's not boring at all.

Really a good teacher. She's nice and funny and she isn't patronizing or full of herself like some teachers can be. She really goes out of her way to be helpful and supportive to her students. I would like a little more structure and guidance in lab, but that's the only thing I would think of for negatives.

She is a great teacher! Tests are kinda hard, but you get to take them by yourself, then again in a group, which helps the average a bit. No need to buy the book. Pay attention in class and you will do fine.

If you are a science major you will do fine, for those not into science, it may not be the best class for you. The tests make you use conceptual thinking rather than boring information. You have to be able to make connections in order to do well on the tests. Also beware of the purple-tipped hair!!!

Great Professor. She really cares about the students and places emphasis on understanding the concepts rather than memorizing the material. It's very important to go to every lecture because everything is fair game for her tests. I'd recommend taking her for any geoscience course you have to take that she is teaching.

Dr. Anderson is wonderful! She's fun and she loves what she teaches. She cares about her students and will spend 1 on 1 time with you if needed. Don't miss her classes, exams are on lecture material, not the textbook! She's always in a good mood, and happy to see you in class! I love her!

Great professor. She is passionate about teaching and is an all around good teacher. Be warned though, you will have to work hard and this class can not be taken lightly. It is relatively easy at the beginning, but the amount of homework, assignments, and projects really increases towards the end. Recommended, but not for an easy A.

Great professor. Really cares about what she teaches. Wants students to do well and gives you every opportunity to succeed in her class. Spins and dances to demonstrate orbits, etc. Keeps lecture interesting and entertaining. I hope I can take more classes with her.

She's a fun teacher! lectures are fun, she all around great teacher. she definitely knows her stuff. the tests are individual at first then a group test on that same test you just took. 50 minutes to do it all, it sounds hard but its reasonable. take her, you'll learn a lot

LOVED HER!!!! She's funny and loves her job. Tests are taken once individually and then again in a group, which definitely improves grades. Lectures make up all of the test material. I love her purple hair!

She teaches at a fairly high level and some of the concepts are difficult to grasp. The class is extremely lab intensive and there is a ton of drawing which is sometimes repetitive but helps you learn. Going to class is quite mandatory as she grades strictly from her lectures and gives points for attendance. She is a good teacher.

Awesome teacher! Loves what she does and you can tell! I had her for Astronomy. I didn't do so hot but that's because it was in the morning and I just don't try for anything before noon. She works humor into her classes and knows her stuff. No community college degree there!

I had Dr. A for Astronomy & Lab, Curiosity, and THAD 295. She is one of the most engaging, entertaining profs I've ever had - she makes class so much fun. She knows her stuff and expects you to learn it, too. Grades fairly and honestly. Really easy to talk to! Take ANY class you can with her, you won't regret it!!

Dr. Anderson keeps lectures interesting and fun - she throws in some humor once in a while, too. She's extremely smart and easy to talk to. Extra credit towards attendance and test scores is given, and the lowest test score is dropped. Tests are taken twice - once by yourself and then again with a group, then averaged. I highly recommend Dr. A!

Very energetic! You use a clicker for attendance. Her tests are NOT hard! She doesn't make you memorize facts, just ideas to be applied. You take tests by yourself, then take the same one in a group of your choice. It is easily my favorite (and easiest) class this semester.

Anderson is awesome. Her class is very easy and rather interesting. Tests arent to hard either. She drops the lowest test score and for each test you take it twice. once by yourself for 70% of the grade and agian with a group for 30% of your grade. Must take teacher! She is alot of fun.

Prof Anderson is fantastic!! You have to be in class every day if you want to understand the material & get a good grade. She has a teaching style that incorporates more than just talking & writing on a slide, she has a way of making class fun & is very funny. Teaches through power points-very well organized. Grade made of 3 tests but you take them individually then with a group and your score is the average. Attendance is mandatory-it counts towards participation grade. As long as you go to class and study the ppt notes you'll get an easy A.

This is one of the best intro science classes at WSU. You will learn a lot and Dr. Anderson loves teaching astronomy. This is a class you don't want to pass up.

Dr. Anderson is a great professor! She is very nice and approachable, and she is willing to help you with whatever you need. The class itself is pretty difficult, but once you get past the first exam, you will be okay if you study. Very interesting material, and Dr. Anderson makes it fun.

Professor Anderson was pretty good. Her lectures were interesting for the most part. Tests weren't too bad although I didn't like the way they were set up. Basically if you got a couple wrong, you couldn't get more than a B. Overall, i'd recommend her.

I LOVE THIS CLASS!! Never have I been more interested in science until I took astronomy this semester! There are only 4 the entire semester, you take it alone and them with a group. No book unless in Lab as well. Lectures are fun, interesting and sometimes downright hilarious! Would recommend this class every time!! 1,000,000100 stars!

Dr. Anderson is an awesome teacher. It's a lecture so you just take notes the entire time, but she gives you very nice study guides for all three exams, and then drops the lowest score. She likes when you go to office hours and visit with her. She's a very helpful, funny, and good teacher. She gets the point across.

Professor Anderson loves what she teaches. There are four tests total including the final but if you go to class, pay attention, and be respectful, you will love going to this class. Dr. Anderson tries to be funny but what's actually funny is when she laughs at her own jokes. Great class! I actually learned a lot!

Dr. Anderson is my favorite professor that I have had so far. And this class is up there too. This class sparks an interest into the world of astronomy, and it is very interesting. Go to class, take the lecture notes, fill out the study guides in a group, and you will get an A. Loved this class, greatly recommend to anyone.

I loved her! I knew nothing about astronomy coming into the class and left wanting to know more. She is a great teacher and I loved everything she said. She uses TopHat in class, but each class only have 5 participation points, and she doesn't count 3 days, so it's not really mandatory to go. Also drops lowest test score. Don't buy book.

She's the only professor I've met with purple hair! Super awesome and helpful. Show up, make friends (you take the test twice, once with a group), and talk to her if you need help. Super engaging and funny.

TAKE THIS CLASS. I never had an interest in astronomy until I took this class with Dr. Anderson. Her passion for space is infectious and ever since this class astronomy is a new hobby of mine. Her lectures are extremely interesting and informational. You will learn something new every single class and will have a new respect for our universe.

Dr. Anderson is an absolute gem! I love her! She does use the whole lecture time, but she makes it super fun, it's almost like she's narrating her lectures in between the time she's writing notes for us. Go to class, we use top-hat during class most days, & you get points for answering the questions. You won't fail if you miss a few classes though.

Jennifer Anderson is one of my favorite profs I have this semester! I have never been crazy about science classes in general, but she makes it interesting and fun. Even though the class is all lecture, I am always excited for class because she makes it awesome! Highly recommend.

I'm not one for science, but Dr. Anderson made lectures very interesting, even when there's 200 people crammed into a lecture hall. She'll give extra credit for things not even relating to Astronomy events too. Hands down would take her again if I could. She also gives attendance points, so showing up matters.

This is a pretty easy class for goal 3! I highly recommend you go to class! Everything that she discusses could end up on the test, so it is always good to hear the lecture! You also use TopHat for attendance! You take an individual test and a group test, so that is a bonus if you have friends! Take this class!!

A fairly easy class, she is nice to sit through and does not care much about memorizing numbers. Her tests are not too bad and I like the way she runs them. 70% test is individual portion and 30% is working with a partner. Just make sure you make a friend so you have someone to work with. I would take again if I could, LOTS of extra credit!

What a great professor! The class had an appropriate difficulty level that benefitted me greatly as someone who struggled greatly in high school science classes. She makes science engaging and self aware which makes class incredibly entertaining. You take 3 midterms and one final that features many of the same questions from the midterm. Not bad!

Dr. Anderson is a gem! She truly enjoys teaching astronomy and she's always willing to help her students during office hours or via email. While the subject of the class is not the most exciting, she makes it so that it's enjoyable to learn. Also, there are many opportunities for extra credit in this class, so take advantage of them!

Your grade is based off of 3 unit tests and 1 final exam which is cumulative. She drops the lowest unit test grade, which is super nice. You test is mostly what is in the lectures, so make sure you pay attention. YOU DO NOT NEED THE BOOK! I only opened my book a couple of times to double check some info, but do not bother to buy it since its $$$$$$

The best teacher for science. She's a genius but is able to explain things in a very simple way. She cares about all her students and truly does anything she can to help. Super flexible, super hilarious, super fun

I had a blast taking this class. The professor has so much knowledge on the subject, and they make sure to explain everything in a way that is easy enough to understand. It also helps that the professor is very funny.

Lab heavy class. Spend the majority of your time in the lab. Go to lecture and write down the notes they will help for lecture exams. The labs are very interesting and worth taking.

Lab is difficult, but even if you do poorly on the exams, there are still enough points for you to get a better grade. Don't buy the textbook, you won't use it much.

Professor Anderson is the best Ive had! I took this class with the lab and it was a lot easier than I thought! Labs were actually quite fun! Had very easy homework once a week and exams werent too hard! I recommend going to Lectures because many of her notes come from there rather than D2L slides! First of all, Professor Anderson is amazing! Her classes were interesting and she wasn't boring to listen too at all. However, I'm a senior and this is my first C ever, and it's a 100 level class! The tests are HARD, and I did every extra credit point possible. No need to buy the book, I never used it once.

Dr. Anderson is very passionate about what she does, and she shows it during her lectures. Even if you aren't pursuing a Geoscience degree, I encourage you to take a class with her, you won't regret it.

There's 4 tests in this class and they are all hard. However, if you do your homework, do the extra credit, and go to class every day you'll at least get a B. Professor Anderson really cares about astronomy so even though this class is a little boring she tries to make it as interesting as she can. Also the lab is SUPER easy so take the lab too.

Dr. Anderson is by far one of the best professors I've had at WSU. She made learning so much fun. She is not technically a professor for the education program, however she geared it towards us teachers and explained how we could teach our students the material that we were learning. She loves her students and truly cares about them succeeding.

Professor Anderson is extremely helpful and kind. Go to office hours and do her extra credit, this class is extremely difficult for a gen ed. She offers a book & doesn't require it, but if I could go back in time I would buy it because the only people who did well bought the book. Tests are taken indiv & in a group, so find study buddies asap.

Anderson is a great astronomy professor, I definitely recommend her! I recommend showing up to lecture as much as possible, but you won't be swamped if you miss a few. Very lighthearted in her lectures and willing to answer any questions about space that come up in class. This class is excellent if you don't think of yourself as a science person.

Professor Anderson is easily the best professor I've ever had. She turned a topic that I was interested in into a topic that I love. Amazing lectures, decent amount of homework, and some questions on her tests aren't on her presentations, so attendance I would say is mandatory. She also offers a decent amount of extra-credit. 5/5 would take again.

Professor Anderson is very nice. She is known to give out hard exams (she said so herself). There's a decent amount of homework but doable. Her exams are heavily based off her lectures, however she only required us to attend at least once a week. Although I suggest you attend as much as you can.

Dr. Anderson is the BEST! I took her class during Covid so it was all online, but I would still recommend it in person. She is super engaging, good at explaining topics, and very flexible. If you need a gen ed. science class with or without lab TAKE THIS CLASS! She is amazing! Pretty easy class too!

Dr. Anderson is a very chill and understanding professor. Especially during our online class, she was willing to be flexible with students. Chances are if you forgot about an assignment due date, she did too, and she'll move it back. Beware of science puns. She assigns readings, but if you go to all of the lectures, you shouldn't need the book.

Great job for such a weird semester, but certainly would be better in person. Almost no homework, just group work based on what was shown that day in the lecture. The emails on scientific news she sends are delightful and show that she sees students as people and not just scores. Only bought the textbook for the smartwork code :(

Dr. Anderson is a lovely person, and she was very flexible with our COVID ruled semester. She is passionate about the subject, but her class was insanely easy. I did read the textbook, but you wouldn't need to in order to pass exams. Graded by few things and VERY easy. I only wouldn't take her class again because I didn't feel challenged!

Love Professor Anderson. The class consists of lectures, quizzes, observational projects, and smartwork HW. You can attend in-person or online. For quizzes, you are allowed a sheet of paper, and is usually based on her lectures. Make sure to check her study guides and answer the Q's. Overall, she is a caring, passionate, and flexible Professor.

I felt obligated to go to the lectures because I was paying for the class but they are not necessary. The quizzes are based on the lectures that she has and I felt that reading the book didn't help. Other than the SmartWork HW that she had, I didn't use the book. Only 1 exam, many quizzes, SmartWork, and 3 small projects were graded.Class was fine!

Dr. Anderson is incredible. She cares so much about her students, what she's teaching, and science as a whole. She makes the class really fun and it's even better when students participate and ask questions. She is very flexible as long as you communicate with her. I loved the class

If you want an easy general class, take this class. Its an easy A and also not much homework at all.
