she's so hot that you can't even concentrate.
She's dayam hot, got her on the dance floor at the armoury and she just gave her!!! p.s she wasn't wearing her wedding ring!
She is HOT!! But watch out. Horribly biased and seems to have no problem with that. Her lectures are catastrophically pointless and the exams are difficult. The exam questions are not based on material from the textbook or lectures.
Terribly inconsistent with marking, not a good prof, I basically learned nothing from her. Group mark worth 40% of grade, so get a good group!
So hot, tough tests, ridiculously energy every day. I hope to also see her on whyte. So hot
Somewhat interesting, kind of moody, very hard exams, much higher work load than other marketing 301 classes, group project is lots of work.
her midterms suck, don't even test your ability to learn so if you study or you don't you'll still end up with a retarded mark, nice person , but try another prof
didn't learn a thing, to this point don't know how to possibly study for her stupid random exams of "applied knowledge" do yourself a favor and don't get into her class. on the ups side she was a nice person.
She's HOT. but I have never had a prof who's so indecisive. Extremely stubourn on marking, and makes threats if you are to challenge any of her marks. I hope to find her on the Armoury Dance floor though.....
she's hot

Argo's alright. If you're not a total stereotypical 1st year business idiot, then you'll be fine. If you are a loudmouth, truckerhat wearing, The Standard going, slack-ass, then you'll probably complain that she's moody. She's not moody-it's just that most guys in business are overcompensating tools
First of all, brush your hair for christs sake. Second, learn how to do simple math before teaching the class how to do a financial analysis. Third, she has no idea what she is asking for ... consistency would be nice. Overall I could not express my hatred for that class.
Argo's great. Unfortunately, most business students are incompetent meat-heads who are simply incapable of critical thinking. If you match the above discription, chances are you'll have a tough time with her class. Probably one of the most intelligent members of the department and well published, too.

Good prof. Really SMART. Go talk to her seriously. Really nice and down to earth. I think I love her - for real.
Really easy class. Go to class because the examples she gives will really help you with exams. Two MCQ midterms and a final with both MCQ, short answer and long answer.
I did well in the class and that was definitely thanks to Jennifer, great teacher lots of fun, and very nice on the eyes too.
Argo is an amazing prof. She makes it easy to learn in class. Her exams are tough though until you understand her testing style.
Jennifer Argo is a great Marketing professor. Has very straight forward exams that consist of multiple choice questions. Argo tests directly from her slides, with a few questions from the textbook. Only one presentation, that will assist you in achieving an easy A.
Jennifer was really helpful! She makes an effort to get to know everyone as she tries to memorize everyone's names the first few weeks and is really easy to contact via email. One presentation, one midterm, and a final. She usually does two midterms but for my year she decided to try one which was nice. Final was extremely fair. Textbook optional.
Absolutely amazing professor, she is very passionate about marketing and that reflects in her teaching. She explains the content very well during her lectures, and if you put in an effort you will get a very good mark in her class. There was a presentation, a midterm, and a final, and no online quizzes or anything like that!
She is simply amazing. Its a shame there arent more professors like her on campus. Her lectures are engaging, she knows how to keep her students involved, the material is very interesting, and she knows how to teach it so we remember it! She is great. Highly recommend!
She's the embodiment of every problem at the U of A. I remember being excited at the start of the year because of her upbeatness, but sees herself above everyone. She told the class essentially dont look at the book or PP notes, write down her words, but told someone whos sick a lot to only focus on the book. Nice in class, belittles you in person.
This class was the reason I chose to change my major to marketing. She is very passionate about the course she teaches and I was very interested. The only issue is that it was the class I focused and studied for the most because it was my favourite, and yet it was my lowest mark. I feel the grade does not represent the work put in very well.
Tough grader but the course is scaled so I ended up with an A. She's energetic and nice in class but in all reality just reiterates the PowerPoints with seemingly useless in-class group activities. Tips to do good: make cue cards off powerpoints (even the smallest things) and watch the assigned videos as useless as they may seem.
I really liked the class! There was a lot of material to learn, and the midterm and final were both based primarily off her lectures (which I prefer because then I did not have to read the textbook). But she really knew what she was talking about, and made boring material interesting. Beware of the group project though, its worth a lot!
Dr. Argo makes MARK 301 an extremely engaging course! Her lectures were fun to attend. The exams were also very fair, and she told us exactly what to study from the textbook to succeed. Highly recommend!
She is a good prof, but you have to understand all the content thoroughly and pay attention to even the smallest details in the slide and maybe you can pull a B+(?)
Extremely unaccommodating when the class structure is already so counterproductive to learning. Not recording lecture videos and not posting complete slides for a 3-hour class that is entirely memorization is laughable. This is the worst structured class I have taken in university thus far, and Professor Argo does nothing to remedy this.
MARK 301 is by far the worst structured course I have taken at the university, She does not post the recorded zoom lectures, nor does she give us the link to join on our own. Instead we have to commute to campus just to watch a video lecture. She also does not post the completed lecture slides, and apparently doesn't believe in practice questions.
Horrible class impossible to keep up. I confidently believe this professor doesn't want students to succeed. Posts incomplete slides and no review material. The class is three hours long and at an odd time. Overall no motivation for the class and have accepted it
She grades you based on the performance of your cohort, if you got assigned to a cohort where ppl work hilariously hard, well, good luck with that. No way to find out what she wants, she even said she'll "make a word" for midterms and finals, you can't get yourself prepared even if you memorized all her slides according to her own words.
Surface level slides, she expects in depth answers on the midterm which were not taught. Communication about a big project was communicated poorly. Only resource for studying was a practice test posted 2 days prior to the test and someone else wrote it, not representing the test itself at all. Class is curved within your cohort so hope they do bad.
Horribly structured class format, assignments, and exams. Expects us to memorize every detail after rambling on for 3 hours straight, but you still do horrible because the exam questions are insanely subjective. Making 900+ students commute to watch a Zoom lecture in a different classroom every class is crazy.
EM...Em.... what should I say... Em... Horrible and Horrible. This is the worst class I have taken in University. Unfair Project, she doesn't give any feedback to my group and tells my group, "Offer available to all other teams, and I have already declined another team's request"..... ..wow, and wow, interesting!
Ambiguous grading Criteria, ridiculous way to teach, useless and vague slides. probably she tried to teach and express knowledge in a more interesting way but i do not think she made it. Avoid her plz, the worst and most horrible class i have ever had in UofA
She was engaging throughout. The midterm was difficult but she recognized this and took steps to fix it. Those who think it was unfair failed to listen to how grading works. The class format was horrible but this was a failure by the ASOB, not Jennifer and she made continuous efforts to improve. The ASOB needs to make significant changes.
Don't listen the good comments.... If you did, try her class for 2 weeks and You will KNOW!
Don't take this class! It seems like she doesn't want the students to succeed with how the class was structured. Forces her students to commute to watch a lecture on a screen, lots of students asked to post zoom link but is muted religiously. Her exam was horrible, barest notes she could possible come up with, doesn't believe in practice test.
Would not recommend her classes. Her lecture slides are atrocious and she doesn't believe in practice exams. The class was 3 hours long, and after many complaints she reluctantly opened up a Zoom call, which would always be muted. Overall, the class was dull and I hardly learned anything. I paid a lot of money for this class, gonna seek a refund.
Never would recommend this prof as her exams were so ridiculous and had nothing with her slides. Her lectures were also unplanned and random. never never never choose her class plz.
The final is coming up but the slides are barely understandable because they are 90% pictures. Figuring out what to study is the hardest part of this course because no useful notes are given. Everyone is expected to remember random things a guest speaker said in a 3 hour lecture. If this class was free it would be overpriced.
Her lectures are 3 Hours long and if you miss a class you don't get access to any online recording. Even the slides provided are difficult to read because they contain a lot of empty spaces which you would only know answers to if you have gone to any of her lectures.
The midterm is hard and are marked based on your cohort , the final you have no power points to go off of as "you should remember her words" in a 3 hour lecture, tis impossible. She does not give practice finals so you do not know what to expect when her notes are literally just pictures. Cant wait to be done with this proof STAY AWAY!!!
The final is coming up but they do not provide any practice or any help sessions. office hours are useless and do not help anything. would never never never take this prof's classes again
No practice tests were given out, and she is shocked average is low. Lectures are awful. Takes her 3 hours to get through 40 minutes of material. Reluctantly opened up a zoom after multiple students complained. If you're not in the big lecture hall then you are in a class watching a zoom on a projector. Absolutely pathetic prof, do not take
Jennifer Argo marked everything impossibly hard. The midterm was near impossible due to it being essentially new content. The simulation was confusing and the marking of it made no sense. The average was insanely low, and it wasn't clear how we would recieve marks for it. She marked the group papers in a way that made it a grade dropper.
TERRIBLE!! to begin, classes were not offered online. Midterm was super difficult with averages of 50% ranging from cohort to cohort. She expects everyone to memorize a sentence she said once in a 3-hour lecture. These are very vague slides with minimal effort put into them. Too many guest speakers and students don't even have access to slideshow.
I think jennifer is slightly impaired in her teaching abilities. She lacks to understand what teaching actually is. Her notes and slides look like a 6th grader made it during recess and she makes her exams unfair. She needs to realize that no one enjoys her class and that we collectively as a school dislike marketing solely due to her.
At no point in taking Jennifer's course did I feel that this class was fair or that I could apply my learning. The exams made no sense to the point where they were completely unrelated to class materials. She expects us to either intuitively know things or remember a single sentence she said in a 3 hour lecture. The 3 hour lectures are boring too.
Arguably the worst professor I have encountered by far, just the fact that we have to come in person to watch a 3 hour zoom meeting tells you enough about her, and while she is on here trying to say its not her fault, bus 101 had the same mega class format, and they made it work by making a proper zoom, having recordings, being able to view slides/
She is a very hard marker and the class is so terrible she is bad at teaching and should resign from teaching. DO NOT TAKE HER if you do not have to.
she is making way to much money for the clearly lacking effort.
Prof doesn't post lecture videos even though they're recorded on zoom, and doesn't give us any study material for midterms and finals so you're on your own. Don't take her for mark301
Jennifer is the laziest prof I've ever seen. She doesn't believe in practice exams but the averages are in the 50s, I think she should start believing in them. Notes are literally a picture book for illiterates and then we are supposed to know terms we have never heard for the exam. She thinks we can intuitively know what she is thinking. Huge L
Worst prof I've ever had, and she was compensated $375k last year!? Bare-boned powerpoints, tedious 3-hour in-person lectures, no recordings or study materials. Had to beg for a practice midterm which was given 2 days before just for it to be on understanding the test format and not the material? I think we all know how an mc exam works.
Taking MARK 301 with Jennifer Argo has been an absolute delight! Lectures are short and sweet, with detailed slides. Exam questions are straight from the lecture material and the various practice exams. Lectures are also recorded for those who are not able to make it to class.
The course is very simple, a lot of the knowledge is common sense. It puts what you already know in words, this is very annoying since there's no real learning happening here. Professor is a tough grader, most of the exam questions have multiple "best" answers, and some of them don't have correct answers at all, it's just a hit or miss.
Awful prof. Lecture slides are terrible with limited info and a million blurry, useless photos. Exams make no sense. The group project was nightmare fuel with no rubrics provided, however, you were still graded on a rubric. Don't take unless you want to pay hundreds to watch a 3-hour Zoom lecture of nothing but low-resolution google images.
Absolute embarrassment to this institution, lectures are 3 hours long, bare-bone PowerPoints, no practice materials/exams because she "doesn't believe in them", she provides no in-depth applications of the concepts taught and expects students to apply them to ridiculously difficult exams. Somehow she was surprised the average was 50s on midterm.
effort was not there
This class was a nightmare wrapped in a riddle. The professor prides themselves on creating exams that are harder than coding the next Facebook. They boast about the complexity of their questions but offer minimal guidance or resources to actually learn the material. This class could be considered the worlds greatest dopamine detox.
Taking this marketing class was like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded. It was like the blind leading the blind, except we were also spinning in circles. The slides were AMAZINGGGGGG though!!!!!!!!!!!
Unprofessional, do not take her course. She is incredibly rude and condescending, and has bragged about being able to do HER OWN TESTS and get a 100%. Then she proceeds to not give us practice exams/midterms and is shocked that the class average is a 50% . She isn't helpful, is an incredibly harsh grader, and generally unpleasant to interact with.
Bad professor and TAs graded all the assignments hard. The simulator project is completely unfair and the exams only brought everyone's grades down further. They are assigning grades based on "natural breaks" after curving it, but with failure to disclose specifics it seems arbitrary at best. Lectures seemed to have zero effort put into them.
Please save yourself and never enroll in this class.
Worst prof I've ever met. Avoid at all costs. Grades are completely disproportionate to the level of difficulty this course should actually be considering it is an introductory class. Very disappointed with the quality of teaching and complete lack of regard for the students on Jennifer's behalf
one of the worst...
I couldn't of been more disappointed. The exams we're mostly full of stuff that barley touched on in class, and there we're no practice questions given throughout the entire course! My GPA could of been much higher if not for how poorly run this course was. I studied so much, and for what? This is not fair and something needs to be done.
Try your best to avoid this prof. Midterm and final consisted of topics she never touched on. Most of the lectures are filled with guest speakers who rarely touch on course material. 20% Group project with unclear grading criteria. Overall a terrible prof.
They don't show you all the notes on the slides so if you're online you won't get all the details (only added a zoom link after people complained). Exams were insane, tested on the most minor details (many of them not taught). No one got 100 on it which goes to show how bad the exams were. No practice exams because she doesn't believe it them.
Horrible professor. Midterm and final both had topics that weren't covered in her slides. Also, no practice final which is very infuriating as it is already really difficult to try figuring out a way to study for this class.
This was by far the worst class i've taken. Presentations were 90% pictures and it was difficult to separate the important info that she tested from her rambles. There was no rubrics to navigate assignments and no study materials for her unreasonably difficult exams. Even after she said she'd fix the issues with the midterm, nothing changed.
... never again. my miraculous mark on the midterm saved me but... insanely hard course
I wish I could capture the extent of my disdain for this disorganized and absolute mess of a course in one review but I can't so do yourself a favour and just avoid this prof
Taking this class would be a waste of time and money, even if they paid you to attend. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of that train wreck of a course.
The lecture material was not challenging, and the slides were beneficial. The Group project can be completed with a good mark if you run a couple of practice simulations before the real assignment. The midterm + final are quite frustrating. They turned into "How well can I read Prof. Argo's mind" instead of "How well do I know the material"
The lectures and corresponding notes provided useful material to understand concepts, however, the 3hr periods could get a little long. The simulation could be done successfully with a few practice attempts and putting a little thought into the reports. Exams were more complex than they needed to be, with poorly written questions or answer choices.
She got screwed by being forced to teach in this 3-hour weekly lecture so I don't put all the blame on her. She brought a lot of enthusiasm and energy to lectures. But her decisions about how to run the class made things worse, not better. Bad, bare-bones slides, no review/study material, challenging midterm and final questions, and a weird project
Bad lectures, the whole simulation group project was a mess
Worst prof I've ever had
I don't blame others for hating the 3hr lectures but I found them to be bearable as I thought she showed a lot of enthusiasm. I thought she did a good job relaying the material and getting students involved by bringing in guest lecturers (which I enjoyed). Her exams were horrendous though, more about reading her mind than understanding the material
