She is very helpful. Whenever you need her help she is always available. Her test are O.k. Her homework is review of the lecture.
great professor with lots of examples. lectures are interesting, but tests and quizzes are tricky at first. she's always willing to help if you ask =D
I loved this teacher! She is very nice and understanding! Her quizes are simple, and her test are kind of hard. I advise you to go to class b/c its interesting and you learn a lot. Very good teacher, highly recomend!
A very clear and helpful teacher. Quiz's easy, but test are a little tough. If you come to class everyday, do homework for understanding, you'll do just fine.
Her lecture is really good! She is also really helpful.
I like her stlye of teaching. She gives good examples that you can relate to. I didn't even touch the book. Quizes are pretty easy, T/F. Exams are little hard, maybe it's the subject? As long as you attend class daily you should be able to do alright. Very understanding teacher.
Great teacher! Outlines every chapter which makes it easy to understand, quizzes are pretty easy, but tests are kinda hard.. Homework gives you an easy 10 pts a piece which really helps. Highly recommend!
Baily is the best instructor ever!! she is really helpful and very clear lectures. she writes as she goes along making it very easy to take notes. easy to pass if you attend class everyday.
Great Teacher, lectures are clear to understand. You need to attend class if you want an A. HW assgts. correlate w/ quizes and w/ Test. I took this class before w/ Yamashiro Guy, he sucked. Took Econ101 w Kasliwal Pari he also sucked. J Baily is an excellent teacher because she remembers being stud
Took her for both class and she is pretty much ok. Take her for 101 and she will cut you some slack. take her for any upper division...... don't even think about it. Her grading scale sucks for 333 (especially with a bunch for nerds in the class). recommend for 101.
she was sooo super coool! if only i knew about this website earlier then i would take her for econ 101 instead i had baird =(. her quizzes are super easy! my lowest score was a 5 i think. mainly vocabularies for quizzes adn mixture of problems solving and vocabs for exams. suggestions: do and practice hw problems in order to do very well on exam.
awesome professor. if i can, i'll take any other course by her =]
Probably one of the best teacher's on campus. She writes all the notes on the board and you'll probably never open the book. She always reviews the homework and quizzes which is also very helpful. Totally recommend her!
She's a great teacher. Very neat and clear. I enjoy going to her class because she's actually teaching something unlike my other teachers this semester. Homework is easy. She goes through it in class and the quiz is pretty much a review for the test.
Great teacher! Don't buy the book. Everything is from the lecture notes, go to class and you will do great. Tests are from the HW, quizes, and notes. Study those and you will be fine. This is a hard class with every other teacher. Take her and you have the best chance of getting a good grade. She is so nice too! =) I really learned a lot.
Class is tough, but she does an awesome job helping students understand. She will go over examples that actually make sense and she will go over it as many times as you need til you understand it. She's really nice and wants everyone to succeed. Do the homework and study the notes for the quizzes. Extra Credit got me an A! DON'T BUY THE BOOK!
Take Bailey for sure...I got an A in the class just by attending everyday. She is very helpful and nice. She wants to see everyone get a good grade in her class.
I LOVED this teacher. She was sooo easy. She seems like she would make exceptions for anything. She told the class that there was no exceptions for a assign. and when i told her i wouldnt be there that day (with no excuse) she said just turn it in at the final. She is definately an easy A if you go to class and just listen.
very good teacher. Knowledgeable about her subject. Always available for office hours and responds to emails regularly. She even goes out of her way to meet you sometimes and is very considerate. Great person overall and very friendly as well. Not to mention she makes the course very easy just go to class and be nice.
i don't know who said she's good. she's AWFUL! she has the most shrill voice ever. and her lectures are boring. she tries making jokes that no one laughs at. plus she's hard. you have to work. i mean..it was painful attending class.
SHE'S THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!she lets you make up the midterms if you miss them! i love her! aplia sucks though. thats the only thing
her voice is soo ANNOYING!... Every week you have an assignment online that is kinda of hard and annoying and does not really help you out for the test! The lectures are extremely boring, but they are straight forward for the test. Attendence does not matter... And test are okay, but shes very wordy with them.
Bailey is so cool! I thought I was going to do horrible in Econ but she makes everything very clear and understanding. There are no quizzes but there are tests every other week, as long as you study you should be fine. There not that hard. She's pretty funny sometimes to. Shes a very nice teacher I enjoyed her class.
She is a really fun teacher. For having the class at 8am i did surprisingly well with my grade and attendance. I wish the tests were a little bit easier (and i've studied economics for a while) but they weren't impossible. She is very clear in her notes and most of the test is based off of the lectures.
yes, her voice is so annoying. her lectures are ok, but her exams are somewhat hard. i think her tests are too wordy and bit confusing. dont take her, if you don't want to screw up you gpa.
I thought that she was a very nice teacher, not strict or anything. She is also very helpful when you approach her with a question. You dont need to come to class to do well and make-up exams are given. She isnt as easy as she seems though; some effort is required.
She was very easy. The notes in class are basically all you need, but if you don't show up you really need to read your textbook.
Great teacher! explains concepts very clearly. Quizes and test are straight from the notes.
I don't like econ. but this class was surprisingly easy. You should attend class and take notes if you want to do good on the quizzes and tests. She is very clear on what to expect on tests and very helpful.
Best and one of the nicest teacher you could ever have. I had her for both econ 100 and 101, econ 100 a little tough with the aplia but she more than willing to help. You can send her e-mails asking for help and she will respond pretty quickly. Go to lectures b/c basically its on the test and quizzes and hmk and you will get a good grade
Her examples and notes help alot with understanding the topics. All you need to do is show up to class, and take notes, and you'll do fine in the class. The quizes and tests are directly from the lectures. I'm not even an Econ major and thought this class was very easy.
This class is pretty hard. The tests are short answers so it's tough but the final isn't cumulative. There are also quizzes about every other week and hw.
Soooo annoying. I'm sitting in class right now and I cant stand it. Her voice is piercing to the ears. Sounds like a hyena crying.
Great teacher. She does a great job explaining the material and is anything but monotone. Very clear and nice when you talk to her. Don't need the book, im getting an A just off the lecture notes. Attendance is not mandatory but is recommended.
She's awesome. I am in her class this spr. She explains everything crystal clear. I understand her materials much easier than reading the book. She's so helpful that I email her a lot and she replies me on the same day with very positive attitude. Only MC exams.
Prof Bailey is an amazing and entertaining teacher. relates very well with students and keeps the class fun. You want her as your teacher.
Took the hybrid with her and am very happy. Most of the things on the exams are from her lectures, which guide you step by step to everything. Exams are ok, with little studying got a B. Online stuff through Aplia are pretty easy, and she is flexible about experiments and due dates. Grades are 3 tests, final, and hw, so u need to do good in all.
She is a pretty legit teacher. Take the hybrid because since most of the work is online you will be fine as long as you do it! Study for her tests and actually going to class makes a big difference. Don't buy the book, it's worthless and all online.
Ms Jen cracks me up as soon as she opens her mouth. Her squeky voice is just hysterical. People commented that it sounded like a hyena but it wasnt that terrible. Her class is faily easy to pass. She uses very simple terms so that you can understand better. Very nice lady. I lost my wallet once and she even try to help me.
She's a good professor. Gives extra credit and the online hybrid portion is essentially 30 minutes of homework (so you have one less hour of class and take care of the studying!) Definitely recommend her class.
I took her for the ECON 100 and 101 hybrid class, she's a very good teacher and she makes it easy to understand the material. She's very nice and willing to answer any of your questions. I highly recommend the hybrid courses, they didn't require very much time online, and the online homework was very easy and there are practice homeworks online too
I took the hybrid. I did not buy a textbook, just studied off her notes which were crystal clear! I attended every class since I didn't buy a book. Very interesting lectures! My easiest class this semester. I personally thought it was an easy A!
This class was pretty easy for me. I didn't buy the text so I just studied off her lecture notes for all the exams and got high A's on all of them. The only thing I found slightly tricky were the online assignments. Bailey is super nice and makes econ so easy to understand! Take her if you can.
She is a good teacher. Easy and fun class. Short too.
BEST TEACHER EVER. very clear. online hw due every week (easy). 3 midterms (30 Multiple choice) and 1 final (MC+short answer). attendance not mandatory. great teaching style. very nice and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Excellent, excellent teacher. Should be tenured. Hints for students who take her class: go to every single class (it is never dull), never leave class mid-lecture (she'll remember who you are), always do the homework, ask about extra credit, and, if you're more of a "visual person," watch YouTube ECON101 tutorials for test prep alongside your notes
This class was fun! She was very interesting and I took the Hybrid class so we only had class for 50 min. You have weekly homework but drops 2 lowest scores. She is a great teacher!
Great teacher even though I got a D ( my fault not hers). Good lectures, she was very interesting, and cut me slack for late homework assignments. I'd take her again.
She has a very high pitched voice, but is very nice. The homework and online quizes is an easy A for 20% of your grade. Her tests are fairly tricky, but if you can comprehend the information you will be fine.
This professor is awesome! I took Econ Hybrid class and the assignments really helps you for your exams. Only 3 exams include final.
I just wanted to provide a tip to future students of Ms. Bailly's: you don't need to get the textbook if you take thorough notes and study them/understand them. I didn't read the textbook and I missed only 1 out of 30 on the first two midterms. Her lectures are clear and she writes everything you need to know for tests on the overhead projector.
Her class was fun, she tries to make it appealing to students in terms of subject matter. Her notes are very thorough and are everything you need to do well on the homework and exams. No need for the book. I really enjoyed her class and definitely recommend taking her.
Bailey is awesome! I took her for 101 and 100, and loved her. She makes class engaging and interesting, she is very clear, kind and helpful and she wants her students to succeed. Her tests are a little difficult, but if you pay attention in class you will do well. One of my favorite professors!
took her a few semesters back she was very clear and made me look forward to class. I took the hybrid and although it was sometimes a pain to remember the due dates for things, it is very helpful
Very good teacher. No need for the book; her lectures cover all the material. Uses examples for the more complex topics and gets the class involved. If you need an ECON class, take her. Midterms were easy, but the Final was much more difficult so watch out for that.
very helpful teacher provides useful examples...demonstrates great interest in econ best econ teacher ever!!
LOVED HER! She was a great teacher and made sure that everyone comprehended the material. I got an A :) If you went to the classes and took notes you were solid for the tests.
Good teacher to take for Econ, she tries to make things easy so that you can pass with a good grade. she goes off into random side stories at times. I Recommend taking her, hardly studies and got an A in the class
She is BY FAR the BEST Econ professor I've had. So helpful and knowledgeable. She has an answer to every question, and the answer usually involves beer or food. :-) I never opened the book, just attended every class and took good notes. She even offers help for other classes you take. Highly recommended!
She makes Economics easy to understand and is very helpful. She is the best Econ teacher I've had!
She is a great teacher, no book needed, just come to class and take notes. Everything she lectures about will be fair game on the test. Participation using the iClicker. Gives you 3 chances to get extra credit. 6 Quizzes and 6 homework. 3 Exams, exams have 30 multiple choice and 2 short answer. All super easy if you attend class. Recommend her!!
Very good teacher!, Nice, understanding. Use book for more help. Iclicker helps your grade. tests are not too bad just study! quizzes online, hw every few weeks. Overall very nice.
Always there if you need her. Great professor=) Go to class and write down notes, you'll get an A. 2 Midterms & a final. 6 Quizzes, drop lowest one. 6 Homework. 3 opp. for extra credits. No need 4 book
All you need are good notes. Attend class for participation points. No book needed. Definitely recommended.
Amazing professor! I hate night classes but it was worth taking this one because she is so cool! As long as you attend class and take notes you'll get a good grade. She really makes Economics fun and easy to understand.
One of the best teachers I've had going here at CSULB! Very helpful and there's no ppts but very easy to follow. If you want an A you must read the book. Homework and quizes are online. Take her!
Bailly is by far the best professor I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by. Hands down best professor in the Business Department. Her lectures are clear and concise. Most importantly, she cares about her students and will go to extremes to make sure they succeed. Absolutely loved her. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. You won't be disappointed.
She's incredibly clear and relates the information in a way that you cant help but understand the first time she goes over it. Typical lecture setting and didn't really need the book, class notes and HW are sufficient enough for studying for tests.
She is very helpful but a bit unorganized.
Professor Bailly is great. She wants her students to suceed. This class sucks overall but she does her best to make it easier. Study her notes and do the hw. I read most of the chapters just to see the material twice.
Professor Bailly was sooooo helpful. She's so down to earth and really wants to help the students understand the material. Couldn't have asked for a better lab teacher. She teaches a million classes at multiple schools and still has such dedication and positive attitude. Take her!
She's one of those professors who makes you want to come to lecture. Just do the assignments, take notes, study and you'll get a good grade. It was a pretty easy A but still learned a lot. Like other people have said you really don't need the book; she tells you what's on the exams or quizzes during lecture. Take her if you get the chance!
Wasn't an easy class (because of my major/subject background), but Professor Bailly was super helpful with content and reasonable with grading/requirements.
At first I wasn't too thrilled about this class, but Professor Bailly made the class interesting and fun. She is very clear and helpful. Online homework can sometimes get a little long, but it helps a lot with exams and quizzes. Attending class and taking notes is also helpful for passing the class.
GREAT PROFESSOR, MAKES LESSON SHORT AND CLEAR. HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS. FEW OFFICE HOURS.
Bailly is awesome! I wish she was teaching more courses here at CSULB. i wouldn't hesitate to take her again. The only peeve I have about her is her wording on test and assignments.. It could be clearer. Through and through she is a great professor I would recommend her to anyone
I took her during summer semester. She's so much fun. You gotta study a little, but the class wasn't too hard. No need for textbook. I'd definetely love to take her class again.
Hybrid class that met twice a week with online homework every week and quizzes every once in a while. Lowest quiz, homework, and test scores dropped, excluding final. Lectures were clear. There were study guides for exams, which were not too bad. Easy class if you keep up. She's nice & considerate.
Professor Bailly is very good at explaining difficult economic concepts. The class could be boring depending on your interest of such topics, but she does not make this class hard for those who aren't interested. Attendance to class is not mandatory, but would help a lot for those who are finding difficulty because she's a great lecturer.
She cares for her students as long as you make the effort. The online homework simplifies the things you learn so if you only do the homework and don't review notes you won't pass the tests. Bailly's tests are tougher than the homework but the material is almost identical to the notes. don't skip class, do the homework, take notes easy A
Loved this class, short and to the point. You don't really need the book as long as you do the homework and review the notes. Class notes help a lot. 1 online Quiz and 1 Homework assignment every week & 4 about 4 exams. Definitely recommend taking this class.
Class is composed of: Homework assignments, 5 Online Quizzes (10 MC), 3 Exams ( 30 MC), and a Final. She's a amazing professor. Explains material in a way that makes it easy to understand. The tests can be a bit tricky, I would suggest reading the textbook to help you ace the exams. Overall amazing professor and I recommend you take her.
Don't let "Hybrid" scare you. All it is was online homework and online quizzes. The quizzes were all easy since you can find all the answers from Google. I've had Bailly for both Econ 100 and 101. Her lectures and notes are so good you don't even need the book. Overall easy A because she drops your lowest exam, lowest quiz, and lowest homework :)
I like the hybrid class. Tests are hard but the online homework helps your grade a lot. Do all of the online homework & quizzes and you'll be fine. Bailly is good professor and her examples of economic situations helped me understand the concepts
She's cool and very understandable. Sometimes lectures can be dry, but she really tries to incorporate discussion and real applications. Everything is straightforward; no curveballs, no surprises. She's very perky too! I'd love to have her as a professor again
3 tests, 2 HW's, 1 (very easy) group project, and 2 discussion posts. One of my favorite classes. I wish she taught more upper division courses. She makes the concepts so understandable that you would understand them even if you were't and Econ major.
Great lectures but they don't translate well to the homework problems. Tests are similar to quizzes and are all multiple choice. Homework and quizzes once per week. Apparently another class only has 1 midterm and a take home final so my advice is to take that class if you want an easier life.
One of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. She's witty and really explains the econ concepts well by giving great examples. Notes are very clear and organized. Tests aren't very hard, just look over the notes and practice some problems she posts online. Very quick to respond to emails, prompt with grades. She's funny, respectful, & helpful!
She's clear on the material; hw and exams are based on the lecture. (You could get away with just reading book and doing hw. Try the hybrid class if offered.) Helpful/available during office hours. 4 Exams and got to drop one. Average test scores were 85% - hence B in the class. Easy to confuse material if taking econ for first time (me!).
This class is really interesting and only uses basic economic concepts, so even if you haven't taken an Econ course you should be fine. It is a writing intensive capstone, so you'll have papers due every other week (short 2 pages). The midterm and final were easy, just make sure you do the reading.
Boring class. She was always late, even on the final. She showed documentaries in class without mentioning there were going to be questions about them on the final. Also, takes forever to respond to emails. Long story short, take someone else.
The public issues economic class with her is great. Every week, you have to do discussions and they are mostly from the books. Also, for the final, even though she provides the study guide, you don't need use the study guide, because the exams are pretty much the same from the weekly discussion posts. The answers can be found on the discussions.
1st half semester: 2 page paper & 2 discussion posts due every other week 2nd half: focus on term paper midterm & final: short answer, easy if you do the reading thru the semester nice prof, chill class w interesting case studies. reading & writing intensive and doesnt unlock assignments early unfortunately but theyre all pretty easy imo
One of the best professors on campus (my top 2 favs)! I highly respect her & her insightful explanations during lectures. She is incredibly helpful, genuine, and cares about students' well-being. Provides the textbook online (amazing). Lots of writing, but you can write/share any topic you like regarding the economic aspect, which is easy & fun.
I get that it's a WI course, but some of her expectations are extreme. I've had stickler English profs and while I know not to start sentences with conjunctions, I've never heard of not starting a sentence with "This." She is also way too reliant on AI detectors which are notoriously unreliable. I was never accused, but I know other students were.
