Awful. She skips over things and says should be basic knowledge to us... This class is for people who didnt test high enough so we obviously need more help. She will do problems on board but skip over steps because she thinks we already know what to do. Wrong! I felt lost!

Extremely, helpfull and nice to look at to! She made sure the class understood everything before moving on to something else. She made it seem easy and I actually found my self learning something. I'll be taking her for my other math classes if she's teaching them.

Jen is the best math teacher I ever had. She was sooo helpful and didn't seem to care that I ignorant in math. She always avaliable to help. I would recommend her for anyone who doesn't like math. Though don't laugh when she wears her brown pants with the huge buttons on the back. They detract.

If you need a passing grade in math then take Jenny. If you put forth half the effort you will at least make a B. Her test are a joke, she makes them so simple that if you can do most of the homework you will pass them easly. I can see she is a firm believer in K.I.S.S. A real nice backside also.

Her class is not easy, but not too hard. Jennifer is good teacher. She can explain things very good, much better than text. And she is very cute!!!

I am horrible at math, but she made math understandable. I thought she was an awesome teacher. If you had any questions or issue all you have to do is talk with her. She is a very understanding teacher.

Great class. Best math teacher I ever had. She explains things well and if you have a problem she will explain it to you even if that is during a test. Tests were effective but not so hard you wish you were dead. Great!!!

Jenny is okay- Very nice but confusing at times. However, if you need extra help she is available to you. Her backside is nice but kinda distracting expecially when she wears her linen skirt because you can see it all.

Initially I was a little unclear, however once you figure out the rythum of the class it becomes much easier. She is very helpful and understanding. If you do not understand, just ask, and she will go out of her way to help

Ms. Balsamo moves very quickly to cover a lot of material, but she has no problem helping to clarify or meet with you in her office for help. She is very sweet and once you get used to the pace, you will be fine. If you know everything she puts on the practice test, you will get an A on the test itself.

Very helpful.Her class is structured and easy to follow.You do need to study.One of the fairest prof. I have had.She is nice and I believe she wants all her students to do well.She uses webct tools to let you know what your grade is throughout the semester.

Whatever, thats not what gets you through the final, she is very fast for me, however, she did not pick me for her class,I chose to take her class, I did not do well in her class but that is my problem, not hers. She does not wake up and say i want to fail ppl today, she does what she has to do.Not strong in math, do not take her.

If you are like me and need a math instructor to walk you through step by step,this is the one to take.It is only the first week in the semester and I have already learned more in her class than my previous instrutor Lee Seltzer. Avoid him by all means.She is a great instructor a lot of the other math teachers call it spoon feeding but I love it.

This is an absolutely fabulous instructor. She is intuned with what the students need because she was recently a student herself. I am not mathmatically inclined and the lowest grade I have recieved in her class has been a 79 and I was rushing and didn't take my time, the highest has been a 100. She offers extra credit on each test. She's great!

I am glad I took her class. At first I had a hard time understanding her, but once you catch on the class gets easier. She is very nice and always willing to help. Besides I do not know another teacher that will let you use your homework on your quizes. She gives you plenty of extra credit, so pay attention and do your work and you will do fine

I am NOT a math person- but I made an A on every test. This is college- you have to do every homework assignment for math- no question! It is time consuming, but there is no other way to prepare. Jenny answers EVERY question in class, and is always willing to tutor during office hours. There is a review and extra credit for each test. Take her!!!

I'm bad in Algebra & got a B in the class. In order to learn you have to do the homework. It does pay off since you get to use the homework on the quizes. She is very helpful and will help you in class as well as outside of class & she will work w/your schedule. She also gives you hints on the test if you are stuck on a problem. I recommend her!

Loved her. She was quick, but ALWAYS offered help. She will give you hints DURING tests, she gives study guides and warning of quizes and tests. I thought she was very helpful and personable. There is NO reason not to like her.

Jenny Balsamo is an awesome professor! Take her if you have a choice.

She does move fast but she will help you and go out of her way for you! She is an excellent teacher but be prepared to struggle a little if you are not very good @ math like me!

She is a great teacher!! She is always willing to help and answer questions, as needed. I recently had her for Intermediate algebra, and I am currently taking her for College algebra. If math is not your strongest subject, I would advise you to take her class. She is the best!!!!!!

Jenny is an awesome teacher, prior to taking her class for elementary algebra i was freaking out, i was so bad in math. Jenny was a blessing, she is very helpful,patient and show step by step for any homework problem assigned. Her notes are great and helpful. You MUST MUST do the homework in order to learn the material.

It's Differential Equations. It's Hard! A lot of steps to solve every problem. She makes it simple, allows a formula sheet(anything goes style) since there is no way to cheat, and gives a quiz every class. HW is not required, but recommended. Tests and quizzes come from HW. Take her!

This teacher is and was great! I had her for intermediate and college algebra. i have never been good at math, it is my worst subject! This teacher has challenged me to be better than what i thought i could be, without making it impossible!!

This was a difficult class made comprehensible by Ms. Balsamo. She is always willing to help the student learn. She is extremely nice, but don't take that to mean she is a pushover. You will be required to earn your grade. Do the homework and you should fair well. If I had any more math to take I would be looking for her classes.

Very nice lady and she does try to help but don't plan on much during class. Wants you to see her later for help (so if you work might want to reconsider). I am prety good in math but felt she was to fast and did not want to slow down for others. I withdrew because felt did not have time to basically teach myself at home.

I thought that she was very good teacher. Whe she graded, she graded how well you knew concepts. She only took off a few points for wrong answers. She cares more about if you know how to do the problem.

This teacher was awesome. There is alot of study/homework time necessary(at least for me)but in the end an A is extremely possible. Highly recommended. Ask questions because she will make a questionable grasp of a concept solid one at answers end.

She is ok. Not great. She is very quick and to the point. She is not very personable. Her notes are good, but she is VERY fast in her note giving and its easy to get lost. Test/quizes arent impossible. She is extremly SLOW at returning emails, and that is VERY frustrating. If you arent good at math, i would say think twice about this teacher.

Take good advice..she is a great teacher, a little fast but she will not mind to help you to understand. I wish I could take her again, she is sweet and kind.

Jenny is awesome!! HW not required, but helpful for quizzes. I got a 99 in College Algebra. Excellent review sheets for tests. If you practice them, you will do very well on the tests. Extra credit paper is offered to boost your final exam grade 5 pts. EASY to understand!! Answers questions, returns e-mails, available office hrs. A WINNER!

Great Teacher!!! Explains lessons well. Very fair when grading tests and quizes. If you attend class, do assigned homework (even though it wasn't required)and study review quizes and tests you will get an "A" no problem. Highly recommend!!! Ask her about fractals...they are incredible!!!!

She may be young but she knows her stuff. Homework was not mandatory- but trust you will need to do it. The quizzes she gave us were randomly taken straight from the homework at the begining of every class-she dropped the lowest 2. There were 5 tests and the the final. She is great at teaching the math- so take notes and you'll do fine.

Took her for Differential Equations, she rocked! It's a difficult subject, but she taught it very well, I recomend going to class, and doing the homework, the 2 question 45 minute quizes are pretty leet, but if you stay on top of your homework you should be just fine, great professor!!!!

If you have any questions, she is available 98.9% of the time. I recommend her over any of the other professors you could take for college algebra.

I've been out of school for 8 years, and math is my weakest subject. She is a great professor. Do the work, pay attention and copy the notes and you should have no problem with passing this class. She is always willing to help, and never makes any question you ask seem silly. Definitely recommend this professor!!

There aren't any words of praise capable of doing Professor Balsamo justice. She's amazing at teaching mathematics and that is that. No more, no less. Highly recommended.

Professor Balsamo is a wonderful professor. I toke her for Intermediate Algebra. She gave excellent notes and reviewed many examples. Also, all of her test reviews and even the Final Exam review was exactly like the real thing. I received a 98%A. As long you attend EVERY class and take the notes and please do the homework (very helpful.)

She is a great professor she is very easy to understand but yet she does take her job very serious which was great for me. This class was 5 credits so there was a ton of material covered. She was very clear in explaining & always went over questions in class. Online HW wasn't as bad as others say & was added to the quiz avg. It actually helped me understand the material better! She made you show all your work b/c you could just cheat & plug into calc. Ms. Balsamo is an awesome teacher. She moves fast so if you miss a class it might be hard to catch up. If you do the textbook homework you will ace her quizes and if you do the test reviews you will ace her tests. I would highly recommend her.

After trying at UNF and with two other FCCJ teachers, I was able to pull a B! It took alot of work plus hours in the math lab, but Professor Balsamo was able to help me make sense of algebra!

4 Tests come from a helpful test review. Weekly quizzes come from textbook homework, then there's mathlab homework for a grade also. She goes over new material before each test instaed of afterwards. And there's no extra credit on tests or quizzes, ever.

Taking Professor Balsamo was the best deicision. She is a wonderful teacher. She eplains everything to a T and is very helpful. If you are stuck or can't figure it out, she's there to help. She makes everything seem so easy. I would reccommend her to anyone.

Great Teacher. Explaned things perfectly so that everyone understood. Harldy ever a question because she explains it all. Dont buy the book though because you can buy the online version for a lot less and I never used the book. She does however look more like a student then a teacher. I think we went to highschool together and I am only 25.

Professor Balsamo is an outstanding math professor because she covers all material before giving tests and exams. I took Professor Balsamo for Intermediate and College Alegbra. If you do not have the math skills like me this is the professor to take because she is passionate about math. She breaks it down so you'll understand every math equation and problem. You need to work the homework problems and take her notes to study. Prof. Balsamo is outstanding!!!!

This Professor can teach, but if you do not want to take the time to study, you will not do as well. If you go to class, take notes, do your homework...you will do good. Her quizzes are straight from the HW and her tests are just like the study guide that she gives you. If you really want to learn math (especially if it is your major), take her.

I failed my last attempt at Intermediate Algebra with another teacher, but Prof. Balsamo made the same exact material seem easy; I've gotten nothing less than an A. There are short tests every week, which keeps the info wedged in your mind. She is crystal clear and very organized. Possibly the best math teacher at FSCJ. I will take her for MAC1105.

The class may seem overwhelming at first because she gives lots of quizzes and tests, but they're all designed to help you. DON'T buy the used textbook, get the MyMathLab- IT HELPS and she also assigns homework on MyMathLab. Study her notes, do the homework, you'll get an A.

Before I took her i took another teacher an failed miserably. I took her and she changed my attitude towards math completely. She explains everything step by step. You have a quiz almost every wk but the problems are chosen from the hmwk she assigns. Go over old quizzes and review problems she gives for the test and youll get an A every time

I took her for College Algebra, Trig., and currently for Precalc. She is the best! If you really want to understand the math, she is the one for you. In a perfect world, she would also teach calculus...oh,another plus, no need to buy a textbook, everything is on course compass. Easy A if you apply yourself and come to class.

Mrs. Balsamo is AMAZING!!I took her for intermediate and College, she is very clear to understand and does every problem step by step so its easier to understand! there are quizes about every week, but they come off the homework problems. i would def recommend her to anyone! she is ALWAYS available to help you! Absolutely amazing teacher. Well spoken, patient and presents material in an easy to understand manor. Grades are posted almost immediately and she responds promptly to all email. Come to class, do your homework and you will do well. Not much extra credit offered because it isn't needed. She is truly interested in TEACHING the material.

Before her I never understood math. I hated it. When I took her she changed my mind about math. I came out of her class with an A. Balsamo is awesome. A lot of quizzes, but she combines homework on math lab and quizzes and drops the 2 lowest grades. On homework you can retake until you get a 100. So, as long as you do the homework you will do well. Study! She gives review problems that are EXACTLY like her tests. DO THE PROBLEMS! The test is just a few numbers different.

Must be self motivated becasue she will not inspire U, She is very helpful after hrs when there isn't a lot of students waiting at her office. Some times she makes simple concepts seem hard. If u do the practice test, homework, mathlab and rember the formulas, u will be fine. This was a 8 week course so it was a lot of work and class was mandatory.

I can't believe complaints of a math class being boring(expecting math to inspire?maybe that's why they're in remedial).Too many examples?Prof B. did give us ALL the formulas,and examples for understanding.She gave partial and extra credits.I have never had a math teacher know the processes and communicate them so well(i've taken 3 others @FSCJ).

Professor Balsamo has been the best professor I have ever had. I am terrible in all types of math, but she made it so clear to everyone in the class. I have recommended her to all of my friends, and would recommend her to everybody. She moved very fast, but did not require any homework. Just be in class and take notes!

I am currently in Miss Balsamo's Trig Class and I can tell you that if you are not willing to do the work right from the start, you will have trouble in this class. Homework is not collected but the weekly quizzes are homework problems. Do the homework,attned class, ask questions and you will succeed. She gives test reviews and if you complete them

Prof Balsamo made math easy to understand for me. Half the week we're on computers and then we're in the studio where she lectures. She explains everything and is always available for help. You have many chances to get a good grade and I'll be taking her again

Mrs.Balsamo is a wonderful teacher. She is so kind and very helpful. I maintained a 97.9 in her class and I am horrible at Algebra. If you get ahead in the class and maintain an A she is lax about attendance. I recommend showing up for her lectures as she explains the material very well.

She has been my favorite math teacher so far at FSCJ. Her lectures are easy to follow and understand. Quizzes come directly from the homework, so do those correctly and you'll have a good grasp of the material. I liked that she also used MyMathLab: even if you do miss a class you can still see how to do the problems. I would highly recommend her.

Was very helpful wish she taught intermediate but will make sure I get her for college algebra. Take her if you can.

The best math professor I have had so far! She is extremely helpful & takes the time to really explain everything. Lots of opportunities to raise your grade if needed.

Fantastic professor. Had her for elementary and intermediate algebra and would recommend her to any student. Super sweet and did her best to help you understand concepts, especially if she knew you were truly putting forth an effort.

She was a great professor. She taught the course well. The only complaint I have is that she is slightly fast-paced, but I can't really blame her for that. It is a math class after all.

She grades fairly, and she seems to focusing on what you do right, rather than what you do wrong. She replies to emails promptly, and is generally supportive of her students. Lectures were too fast for me to keep up, but the material covered was comprehensive.

She's very helpful if u don't understand something in class. She'll go over it with u in class or at her office. Test are just like the quizzes & homework. Pretty easy to get a good grade, just have to pay attention & do the work! Even helps u on test/quizzes if u don't understand something! Very good teacher :)

College algebra is not an easy class, but Prof. Balsamo is a wonderful instructor. She constantly tells you to come to her office if you need help, but if you do make sure you bring some questions for her! Otherwise you'll just be sitting there. You have a quiz once a week, so make sure you keep up on your work. Overall. Great!

Balsamo is a great teacher! She is always willing to help a student that needs help, and is able to simplify math amazingly. Can't wait to take her for my next math course! Also, if you find she is a little too quick, ASK her to slow down, she will, and if it's still too fast, ask to see her after class. Also she's really hot.

Her college algebra class is NOT a walk in the park, but if you study and work hard you will do good. She is extremely helpful. She has quizzes at least once a week, but only 4 tests, and she doesn't require homework.

She is a master at explaining math! I have never had a math teacher explain things as well as her. I've never done great in math, but this semester changed that around. She does everything step by step and is always willing to answer questions!

professor Balsamo lectures the entire class period, she gives a lot of examples and will re-explain a concept if it was unclear. She does not grade homework, you only do homework to re-enforce the concept. She is fair on her grading for quizzes and tests. Highly recommend.

Professor Balsamo is great! She explains the concepts very well, and will go over them again if you don't understand. She is very nice, and I would definitely recommend her! She seems to really care about her students.

The online class was so easy. Math is my worst subject and I got a B. Her homeworkquizzes are unlimited as long as they are done by the due date. For proctored Exams she gives graded practice tests (unlimited) that are almost EXACTLY like the actual test. Ace the practice test, ace the real test. I would recommend her online course for sure!

I love her. Her lectures are so helpful and she puts together reviews that are basically identical to the tests. She was very helpful too. I would definitely recommend this teacher if math isn't your thing. She will definitely make it more clear for you.

College Alg. Book not needed. Assigns homework problems for your own benefit, but doesn't grade. 1 quiz every week but only 3 tests & 1 Exam. Tests make up majority of your grade. Takes attendance each class & gives points for showing up. Each test had an extra credit problem. Posts videos online to help you understand better. Very nice teacher!!!

I was never good in math, but I passed this class with a high A. My testing average was a 99%. Her lectures can seem boring, but she breaks down every equation and simplifies it. She also posts review questions for each test so as long as you pay attention in class, take notes, and do the review questions she posts then you'll get an A.

Great Math teacher! College Math is tough, but I had a great experience. You get three absences, and she has great videos.

I loved Balsamo. I thought her lectures were great, just pay attention and take notes. Quizzes once a week, but only 3 tests and a final. She explains the problems clearly during class and her quizzes are almost identical to the tests. She also has an extra credit question on each exam. Would definitely take again.

Trigonometry is tough, no way around it. But I'm glad I took Professor Balsamo for this class. She moves through material quickly because she tries to do as many examples as possible. Show all your work on tests and quizzes & even if you get the answer wrong, she'll give you credit for what you're doing right.

She is a very good professor. She explains in great detail and gives good homework to practice. She does not grade it. Sill, I recommend to do them because they help you A LOT and she can tell in the quizzes and tests. Do your best, ask questions and SHOW UP! She is awesome!!!

took this class online. applied myself and did well. professors videos were helpful, never had to ask any questions but I'm sure she would of been more than helpful. practice test quizzes prepare you for the tests, very similar questions.

Taking her for Precal, she moves very quickly. If youre good at math and like it fast pace you should take her. If not, either dont take her or ask for help after class. i hear she helps a lot when you ask 1 on 1. I probably wouldnt take her again only bc she moves too quick for me

I would definitely take her again for another math class. I'm a single mom/active duty, and she worked with me and had fast replies too. I got a good grade from completing the work which isn't tedious to do. I'm horrible at math but taking a 16 week course with her was awesome. She allows you to make up work if you just contact her.

Great teacher, her videos were great and clear. Helped me a lot in math in general. Her test are hard, but as long as you study before you will be fine.

Homework and quizzes weekly. 3 major tests. She gives a practice quiz/review the week before the test and the questions are in an identical format, just different numbers. It really can't get much easier. Do the work, get the grade!

This is my second class with Professor B and I'm so glad I took her again. I wish I had taken all 4 of my Math courses with her.

MathXL is foolproof, no other textbook required. Do all the assignments, study for tests, and you will pass. Prof. Balsamo was very good about answering questions via email in a timely manner. She is very soft-spoken, so be prepared to listen carefully to lecture videos.

4 month course. about 3-4 modules every week. if you're a wiz at math then its very easy, if not its still pretty easy. you get unlimited attempts at your quizzes, same with your homework. You also get to turn in work late, with a 5% deduction. I got a C because I slacked and should have studied more than once a wee.

I can't say much about this professor since it was an online course with MATHXL. But I bombed my first exam, did much better on my second and then after getting drugs for my test anxiety made 100% on the final one. She keeps quizzes and homework open so you can improve your grade and I managed to squeak by with an A! Totally surprised myself.

Be prepared because she teaches at a very fast pace, BUT what she is teaching comes straight from her notes off blackboard. My advice to you is to print the notes off blackboard and get a blue/red pen to follow along so you don't fall behind trying to catch up on notes. Do the homework (in text), its great for practicing. You should do fine..

I'm not good at math, but I got an A in the course. She works the examples out step-by-step. She assigned homework in the textbook to study for the quizzes. (We had 11 total for the spring, supposed to be 12.) The three tests were similar to the quizzes, and the final was similar to all the tests. She handed out Smarties during the final!

I've taken 2 Math classes with Prof B and she is by far the best Math instructor at FSCJ. I've done face to face and Online and her instruction didn't waiver one bit. TAKE her and you won't be disappointed. She is very helpful and wants you to pass!! Stay on top of the work and you'll be just fine. I absolutely abhor Math but I'm finally done!

It's up to you if you want to pass this class. You make your own schedule.

She was honestly great. She explained everything clearly. She gives plenty of chances to get help. She drops one quiz grade and averages them out. Test is just like the homework! I wish i could take her for calculus!

She is a great teacher and is open to help her students. The class was a struggle but with determination anyone can pass; I passed with a "B", try her out!

I took her B session class. We had a quiz once a week and a test about every 2 weeks. She is pretty good at explaining things, but if you don't understand she is more that happy to help and explain till you get it. She really wants you to succeed. No midterm and no final. Just the tests.

I took this professor for a previous course where I thought she did excellent. College Algebra however, I really had to work for it. I "stayed" in tutoring because her pace was extremely fast and emailing her didnt help (received no feedback). But, her grading is fair! If you dont put in the work, don't expect to pass. No make-up tests! #GoodLuck!

Bálsamo was great! She explains things well and she is very organized. I enjoyed her class even though I had a crazy outside of class work schedule. She made me feel like it was ok. I passed and that was my goal! I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Awesome instructor, I can not express that enough. I am not a math person at all, but the way she instructs, (in class and in her videos), she goes step by step on how and why the math problems are done. If you have forgotten Algebra, she brushes you up in order for you to proceed. Her videos you can watch anytime, and are step by step how too's

What she taught in MAC1105 is helping me with university-level math. She has a very calming voice, but that makes her almost easier to approach with a question. She taught me to write the steps as I work out problems and to memorize the formulas, among various little tidbits of tips. It's made stat and research methods in psych easier.

Each class is a quiz so it'd be best not to skip it. She's flexible though so you are totally able to take the quiz before the class does in case you aren't able to make it to class. There are three projects that are easy 100s as long as you do them. She's super nice and willing to help if you have any questions at all.

She's very structured and provides all the support you need to pass her class. You will have all notes for class lectures, test reviews are given(very easy as long as you study, and grades are updated quickly. She seems very shy but is always willing to help and make time for your concerns. I highly recommend her for any math course.

This is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her lectures each day are very detailed and very organized in structure. Feel free to ask her any questions during her lectures, and she will be glad to answer them right away. She has a wonderful personality and makes learning the material fun and engaging. I took her MAT1033 course, it was a hybrid so most of the class was online. We did lectures and homework online and she was there in class to help you on a more individual level. Her lectures were very comprehensive and definitely helped for the homework. She is friendly, answers her emails quickly, and her grades are readily available.

She is one of the best teachers I've had in my lifetime ! She wants you to pass and is very helpful if you have any questions or concerns. I'm not the best at math but taking her class, she helped me understand clearly and I actually loved her lectures! She also gives really easy projects that help with your grade also. The best hands down !

Prof. Balsamo was a very responsive and caring teacher. I hate math (and it hates me) but I would take any class with her again in a heartbeat, even math! I took it as an online class for the summer since I knew Id be traveling and she was even flexible with proctored testing dates if they fell on dates I was gone. Two thumbs way, way up!

I really enjoyed Professor Balsamo's class! I took her hybrid class, so homework was done online and the quizzes were done at the school. Professor Balsamo provided us with videos of her lectures online. The lectures helped me quite a lot, because she was very thorough when explaining how to solve the problems. I took Prof. Balsamo's class online and the quizzes were on campus. She is great at explaining the math problems so they're easy to understand. I took this class before and got a D and took it again with prof. Balsamo and got an A. She is very helpful and responsive. She is super nice, which makes asking questions easy. Ive always struggled with math and this class wasnt bad at all. Her videos help you grasp every concept and at times the problems would get a little frustrating but I really am glad I chose prof. Balsamo as my teacher for topics in math! She made math easier for me!

Took online, all the work is through MyMathLab. As with most online you are mostly teaching yourself but Prof Balsamo did add videos she made to help explain each section. The math was not too hard but takes time. Prof Balsamo opened the last sections due to Covid19 so we could work at our own pace which was nice.

For someone like me, who has always been hopeless at math and typical got Ds and Fs growing up, I got an A!!! I took her class fully online. It's all entirely on MyMathLab and with the exception of tests (3 total), the hw and quizzes are unlimited tries! You're allowed to have an index card of notes on the test. I highly recommend her!

Professor Balsamo is a great professor and very helpful. The class is very easy and she gives you a review test for exams. The exams are worth most of the grade, but if you do well on the reviews you will be fine. The quizzes have unlimited attempts as well. This class is an easy A!

Everything is on mathxl. Lots of homework and quizzes. Unlimited attempts for each, take advantage of them. Only three tests, but are proctored. Does not require calls every time you have her class. Is available if you need help. Not a difficult class to begin with. Would recommend her.
