Braido is new this year and I dont think she is a good teacher. She is very intimidating and she doesn't really explain anything very well, she just reads off of the slides she makes.

Difficult class, high expectations
Very hard teacher, expects a lot, not very clear, uses a lot of powerpoint
Tough instructor but she has grown as a instructor. I enjoyed her class even though it was tough. If you're serious and want to learn Prof. Braido is the one to take. If you're looking for a easy A look elsewhere. This is a serious instructor take her if you want to learn and challenge yourself.
Braido was really nice and I had enjoyed her class. It was tough though because she tends to just read off the slides and she tricks you on her tests. She'll sometimes even laugh about how she does it. Gets annoying but good teacher overall.
Great teacher, if you want to learn she is willing to teach! So far, the best professor that I've had. She takes time to help and is clear, if she knows that your actually interested in learning and want to put the time in. I suggest her for students that want to have a true understanding of any course that she is teaching (had 1106 lab too).
I loved Jennifer as a teacher. She's probably the best of the biology department. Notes are clear and easy to follow. Tests are easy if you study. I had her fall 04 for Bio and spring 05 for Anatomy 1

her tests were very difficult. in my lab class she didn't explain things very effectively and the quizzes were impossible to do well on. the questions on the quizzes had almost nothing to do with what we did in lab.
Talks freally face, but knows her stuff.
okay, good class, she is willing to teach, if you are willing to learn. She tends to treat her students like first graders- hate that- but overall, I'd take another one of her classes if I had to. She is very nice, and I think she tries to be understanding and fair.
She is a great professor...but a hard one. She is a cheery person who is always willing to help! It is very challenging. I had her for her 1st semester teaching at ARCC, she may have gotten easier. Uses powerpoints, which help. Tests aren't too bad, as long as you study. Don't take this class unless you have to or really like science.
She's a good professor, really cares about students. Offers great advice. If you do the work, you'll get a good grade.
Jennifer Braido is probably the best professor I've had at AR so far. Her notes are clear, she explains things when people have questions, and she's a very nice person. Yes, tests were difficult, but it's supposed to be a difficult class. If you take the time and study the material in her power point notes, you'll do just fine.
Good Professor. You have to put in alot of time to succeed but her tests are fair and if you study you will do just find. Always offers to help if there are any questions so just ask. Very nice and has a great teaching technique. Wouldn't recommend anyone else for this class.
Jennifer is a fair professor I think her exams are a fair assesment of the material that she teaches in class and she makes what your learning interactive and uses real life examples. I totally recommend her.
I had Prof. Braido for my Lab portion of biology.
I would not recommend taking her A&P class during the summer unless you plan on giving up everything else in your life. She is a great teacher, but not very helpful when asked for help outside of class. I imagine that during a normal semester the class would have been a bit easier, but she is a tough teacher and expects you to work hard.
she's so nice and she's absoultely adorable plus she is one of the few female teachers who knows what she talking about and actually makes it fun cause biology in general not so much fun
I was in Ms. Braido's BIOL 1106 lab section. She conducts lab discussions & exercises exceptionally well; in fact, she is the most effective lab instructor I have had, to date. If you want to feel as though you're getting something out of lab, I recommend taking her section. (PS - her quizzes are simple...;)
I would recommend her to anyone, she really knows the subject well and she makes the subject and the class very interesting.
Freaking awesome. She is extreamly organized and sets clear expectations. I love the powerpoints in class and she uses them to engage the class in learning and discussion.

I have her for lab & unless you really understand Biol I think the lab is quite hard.4tests my class just took the first 1 & class av.was 59% the test are 4mult/choice rest fill in the blanks. She does not drop a test score @ the end.Paper almost after every class.Quiz everytime b/4 lab class 2x2 take 5ques 10min 2 answer.Very nice/exrtremly tough!!
Good prof.
had her for lab only - SUPER knowledgeable and always prepared. great at explaining anatomy. was awesome until she left on maternity leave. Don't know what other poster is saying, incorrect spelling is only .5 deduction, not the whole answer. Estrin (her sub) was easier, though.
Very hard... way too advanced for a beginner biology class! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES.
Professor Braido is a beautiful and intelligent person.
Prof. Braido is a great teacher. She is very clear, helpful and knows her stuff. Be prepared to study your book and pay close attention to her Power Points; they are VERY helpful on quizes and exams (if you take her online Bio). I wish she taught 2113 and 2114 too!
She was not helpful at all, would not meet outside of the classroom(even since it was an on-line class) I feel like she expects you to know everything even thought this is bio 1. just don't care for her what so ever. Not happy with teaching style. wouldn't take this class on-line if you don't have to, or if you learn better in an in-class setting
She was not helpful with wanting to meet outside of the classroom! I took on-line course and my lab teacher was alot more helpful!
Braido was an awesome Professor. I took her online lecture and she was very organized, lectures were uninterrupted and easy to follow. If you complete the study guides, you'll have no problem in her class.
Awesome professor! She loves what she does. She cares and if you have any questions she loves to clarify it for you to help you understand! Lectures/power points can be printed off for notes and her tests are right off the lecture(powerpoint notes)!Very easy to take notes that way! Loved her and wish I needed more biology cause I'd take her again!
Great professor, she is really helpful and I'm glad that I took her class.
Yes, course content is difficult but Braido is incredibly helpful if you meet her during office hours. She is clear on expectations, has great audio lectures available online and overall organized and an efficient grader. Exams were manageable if you follow her learning objective sheets and fill them out. Put in the work and you will do great!
great teacher easy class she makes it fun
I only had Jennifer for lecture but she is a great professor. She is very clear about her expectations and the content. Very helpful and patient. Would highly recommend and hope to take more classes with her.
Great professor! Really passionate about the subject and course. Make sure to study and absorb the lecture in order to receive a good grade, because her exams can be rather hard. Overall, LOVED having her as a prof.
Jen was a really great professor to have! She had very helpful notes, and learning objectives for us to do as review. You can tell she loves the subject and actually cares about her students. As long as you study and pay attention you should definitely get a good grade. I would definitely take another course with her!
Braido is an amazing teacher. Her lectures can sometimes be a little fast, but it always is fun and interesting. She also is very helpful and always asks students if they have any questions. Be sure to use the learning objectives she provides and you barely have to to touch the book!
She is very personable and easy to relate to. Very flexible and understanding. She truly seems to want what is best for her students to succeed and is willing to accommodate for them.
She is a brilliant teacher. The material may be difficult, but you easily learn most of it through the mastering biology assignments you have weekly. She clarifies everything in lecture and makes the class enjoyable.
She is amazing! Had a terrible teacher for my old biology class and she made it fun and I actually learned and got a good grade!
Tests are tough if you don't study, you should go to class for lectures and case studies to do well. Quizes are pretty easy an she is always happy to help with any questions. Would recommend to any student andnim taking another class with her next semester.
She is absolutely wonderful. She manages to make lectures interesting and is willing to provide help outside of class!
worst teacher i've ever had
Jennifer is an awesome professor; she's fun, passionate about what she teaches & she cares about her students. She is the bomb-dot-com
Jennifer is probably one of the best teachers I've had. She's caring and compassionate about the things she teaches. She is so understanding and very helpful. Goes out of her way to help you. Would recommend her 10 times over!
Jennifer was an awesome professor! She had amazing lectures and was very clear on the material. Although it was a tough class, she helped you out when you needed it and would explain a concept (if needed) in a hundred different ways if even one student was not clear on it. She also made class very fun! I would take this class again in a heartbeat!
Passionate, with a willingness to go above and beyond for students.
Good teacher overall, I think sometimes she assumed we all understood when we didnt. Exams were medium. Learning objective each week can get pretty annoying. Critical Thinking worksheets are hard
Jennifer is pretty legit; she's energetic, fun & passionate about what she teaches. She is a straight up G.
braido is a wonderful teacher, I would take her for other bio classes. I enjoyed her class.
Very nice! The class was pretty easy, just show up and listen, do the small amount of homework, study for the tests and you'll be fine. Easy class if you show up. She was super nice and very knowledgable. She may get a little off task but she will get back to the lecture quickly. Tests were easy if you showed up, and studied.
Is very accessible after class with her office hours. Very helpful and answers your questions. Very fast paced class. If you fall behind, will be hard is get out of the hole you dug yourself in. Is meant for people who want to major in science field.
Tough teacher took a hybrid class. She is a harsh grader with limited guidance. She expects you to listen to her online lectures and absorb the material(very hard to do). She also times the test with only a one min if that to think of questions and exams are oncampus no exceptions. I would not recommend this class, maybe she is different in person.
Braido gives A LOT of extra credit which doubles as your study guide and gives you an extra 6% if you do them all. Attendance isn't mandatory but I highly recommend actually coming to class though. Very funny and lighthearted too.
Jennifer Braido is such a wonderful professor. The class is challenging, but if you do the learning objectives, mastering bio assignments and the practice test on mastering bio then it will be a breeze. She does anything in her power to help students understand the concepts and is never hesitant when answering questions.
You don't need to buy the text book in Unifying Concepts in Biology. Just pay attention in class and take notes and you will be fine.
Medical Terminology. You get 5 minutes to answer 15 questions. No time to look and think with how many you have to memorize. Don't expect her to be nice if internet shuts down and or freezes... still don't get the credit and it's late. shes quite rude and likes to think nothing could possibly ever happen with your internet. Don't recommend.
I took Medical Terminology with her and it was an easy A. I got 95 on both tests and B's or A's on the quizzes. Just a lot of memorization, but that would be with any teacher. She was very understanding and a nice person.
Jennifer is probably one of the nicest and most easygoing teachers I've met. The homework is really easy, but you should really pay attention in class and do the learning objectives because it will help a lot on the exams and quizzes. If you're having any trouble in class, she's easy to reach outside of class.
Do her learning objectives on D2L and you will do well on her exams. She is funny in class and promotes asking questions. She really wants you to get the concepts. Warm and easy to talk to.
Cool and relatable but did not have any study guides. I would have done better if there were study guides. Course objectives aren't good enough.
Very nice and understanding all the time, would find any way to make sure the material was getting through to your head. She actually wants her students to pass and puts in extra effort to make that happen. She finds real life examples to make you find a connection with the topic. Study guides are exactly what you need to study & extra credit.
Loved this teacher to the extreme!! Definitely the best professor I've ever had. The lectures were amazing and she wants her students to pass and be able to understand the information very well, also even gives extra credit for doing the learning objectives/ study guide. 10/10 would recommended with choosing this professor.
I had her for an online lecture. She gave us fair warning that it was a difficult class. She does audio lectures and has powerpoints and online homework. While it's a bit of work the concepts are very easy. I had to read the textbook but my friends who had her in class didn't have to. She was very nice in person and in emails. Would take again.
She is a great professor! Her lectures are informative, professional, yet relatable and funny! She is very passionate about biology. Her exams are fair. She has a study guide for every exam, and as long as you know the answers to the questions on the study guide, you will ace the exam. I took 2 of her classes, I would happily take another class.
Jennifer overall is a good teacher. Rather than taking notes of the slides, listen to what she says too (test questions on non-slide notes). She replied to most of my emails and was helpful outside of class. She is very caring, funny, and a professor I felt comfortable around. With no biology background, I found this class difficult and had to work
She is a really good professor. She teaches the material and brings in current events that tie in concepts you are working on. I took Bio 1100 with her. At times the class felt more like a high school class, watching movies ect. If you study your notes and come to class you should do just fine on tests.
I LOVED Braido's teaching style and how she sets up the course. She makes the material easy to learn and gives study guides called learning objectives which are the key to the class! I hope to have her in the future
Jennifer Braido was an amazing professor! She is caring, and wants you to succeed. The class is tough and you have to work to get an A. Her study guides are very good and most of the testing information was on them. Lectures are good and she is interactive with the students and whiteboard.
She is a tough grader and doesnt give much feedback at all on grades which was frustrating. A few times I thought the tests had things on it that werent covered in class. Overall really stressful class and I worked hard.
Tough grader and if you miss lots homework, you may not get the grade you hope for. If you do everything youre supposed to, should be no problem. She gives out a lot of extra credit (learning objectives). These are your best study tools!!! It was tough during the beginning but study hard and ask for help if needed. She was awesome with feedbacks.
This professor was amazing! I took her for Medical Terminology and it was a lot of fun! But, she wants you to know these terms very quickly so make sure you study for a quiz every week! Also she will only give you 10 minutes on quizzes and you have to answer 20 questions within that time limit so dont try to cheat!
Lectures sounded like they were read from a dictionary of the terms, gives no feedback, very confusing and strict
Jennifer is great. She's clearly passionate about what she does and knows what she's talking about. Her grading is honest and she offers extra-credit options. A wonderful lecturer that explains concepts clearly and precisely enough to prep you for an exam, and more importantly for a career in Biology.
There was a lot of work to do each week but it was pretty easy. A quiz, some assignments on my lab then you're done. As long as you use the study guides and read the weekly readings this class is easy. The only hard thing about this class was the time given to them. You only have 10 mins to answer 20 questions and the exams were the same.
I took her asynchronous med term course and her D2L page was clearly laid out and there was a clear grading criteria. The only "extra" work was 2 system assignments, but she gives you ample amount of time to do it. As long as you do all of the mylab assignments and make sure you study and you'll pass, this is not a super difficult course.
This class was mainly a do it yourself type thing, 1 guided lexture (1pt), 1 study module(3pts), 1 exam review game (2pts), and 1 quiz(10pts) each week. There is a midterm and a final, both worth 100pts and there's 2 assignments, some minor reasearch and about a 1-2 page paper required for this, those are worth 30pts each. Very straightforward.
Mrs. Braido is a very knowledgeable, respected instructor in my book. She truly knows her stuff, is interested in what she teaches, and cares about her student's success. Would give a gold star
She graded quickly & her expectations were very clear. I think her quizzes were fair & relatively easy. Her system assignments were enjoyable to write. There's not too much in the textbook, just pics and defs. Memorizing the terms was the most time-consuming thing in this class. Online flashcards (write mode) are best imo. D2L is very organized.
very easy to pass this class. all exams were multiple choice. assignments were easy as well the class was informative and weekly work took about 45 mins to complete.
She was a great profferssor, super easy to understand assignments and they were always posted on time. Also very consistent schedule and learned a lot from her class. One more super positive note was her accomadation of issues that people had during the course 10/10 prof fs.
Very nice, easy to follow, and wants the best for her students. Doesn't give any final or midterm, just the unit quizzes done at home and critical thinkings done in class with a group.
I had Professor Braido for the Lecture portion. I found the course to be very simple as each unit you just had a critical thinking, exam, and mastering biology. Her lectures were very interesting and she found great ways to make them interactive as they got boring at times. She is without a doubt my favorite professor.
