Very helpful and very sweet. will answer questions all day long.
If you go to class and study the notes, this class is not hard. Also, she is a very attractive woman!
She is a great teacher. If you do your homework and take good notes you will do good in the class.
She is a really good teacher!! I am awful in acct. but she made it really easy. You need to go to class!!
awesome teacher. very helpful. strongly recommend her.
Extrememly helpful. Go to class and do the homework and you will do fine. She is really nice and friendly.
She's great. It was her first time teaching in a long time and she did a great job. She's very sweet and will definitely help you out. If you are taking her now, ask her for an out class review session (for the class) before the tests. She did it for us and it helped big time! Rock On,Jenny Corny!
easily one of the most effective teachers i've had at auburn. notes are available online in fill-in-the-blank format. does lots of examples in class and is more than willing to answer questions. test material is pulled directly from notes and examples. overall workload is very reasonable. oh yeah. plus she's pretty hot.
A good teacher and willing to help. Explains everything very clearly. Easy to get an A if you go to class. Also attractive.
She's awesome! I had no interest or background in accounting and she made everything very straightforward! Go to class, pay attention, and do the homework and you should be fine! If you don't understand something, she is very helpful and will try again to help you understand it. I definitely recommend her!
She is a great teacher helpfull and eplains everything in detail. If you have to take the class take her.
BEST TEACHER I have had at Auburn! If you are willing to go to class and even TRY to understand the material she will help you more than you have EVER been helped! Can not say enough about this lady! Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, she is THE BEST TEACHER! I am HORRIBLE at any kind of numbers and I came out with an A in this class!
Great teacher! She made everything so easy to understand. She prints out her own notes so you know exactly what is going to be on the test. Go to class and do the homework and you won't get lower than a B.
Mrs. Cornett is very energetic, and I loved her class. She was willing to help with anything. I would definitely take her again.
Very fair, will make everything clear and understandable. If you do your suggested home work and read the material she will help in any way. It's can be difficult but she makes it lots better. Study hard and you can get an A.
Mrs. Cornett is the best teacher I've had at AU-take her if you can! The class is hard but she's really helpful! She gives lots of examples in class and provides us with extra supplemental problems that are similar to her test questions. Attendance isn't mandatory but it can help your grade in the end, plus her lectures can be funny
Mrs. Cornett is so nice! The class is not easy by any means, but she makes the material fun. Go to class & pay attention. No bookwork is required, but buy the book & work the problems at the end of the chapter. Also be sure to work any supplemental problems that she gives you. Take advantage of her office hours & go review your old tests!
She's very nice, but it's a hard class. You have to work. She gives notes that are helpful for concepts. Do the problems or don't do well in the class. She's great at offering extra help during office hours. She's very personable and cares about how you're doing. I recommend her.
She usually only teaches one class a semester, if any, so try hard to get into her class. This is not an easy course, but she makes it as easy as she can. Does such a better job than the other 2110 teachers at explaining and breaking down material. Also has a few very easy writing assignments to help grade- other teachers have exams only. Get her!
Financial Accounting is a hard class and most people hate it but Ms. Cornett is awesome. She walks you through all of the examples and is very clear. Take her!!! I know so many people who failed this class with another teacher and then took her and passed!!
Accounting is hard in general but she is very helpful in making the material not seem so hard! She is clear and goes through examples good.
Awesome teacher! Usually doesn't teach Financial Acct, so if you get her, you're lucky! She's extremely helpful if you go to her office and makes it very clear what is expected from you. Acct is hard in general but she made it interesting!
She gives somewhat difficult tests, but gives bonus points frequently to balance grades out. She is super nice and you can approach her anytime with a question. She takes all questions and will make sure everyone gets the material. Take her if you can!
Great Teach
OK, Mrs. Cornett is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, but she's not that great at teaching. She gets lost when working problems and confuses the whole class. Yes the material is difficult, but it would be easier with another teacher. Focuses way too much on the powerpoints and not enough on problems. Tough to make good grades on her tests
Do not study for test with the book. I made this mistake and barely scraped by with a B. Trust me, all you need to do is look at the Powerpoint slides she posts on Canvas. I got an A on the test when I finally figured this out... Good teacher; engaging and friendly.
She is a cool person, but I hated her class. She knows so much about accounting that she just expects you to understand everything immediately. The tests are hard, and I think I could have made a lot better grade in the class with a different teacher. I definitely wouldn't advise taking her.
Accounting is a hard subject to wrap your head around. I think Mrs C did a decent job of teaching it as simple as possible. Her tests are pretty hard and attendance is a big part of your grade so you have to go to class. She has decently easy Excel homework that is important for your final grade = bonus points if you do it all. I recommend her.
Intermediate 1 is a very tough class, but Mrs. Cornett certainly makes it manageable. Just like all other college classes, go to class and do the homework. She is so very nice and very willing to talk to you and help you. Great teacher. Intermediate is tough with any teacher, it's just a hard class
One of my favorite teachers at AU! She was so helpful. The tests were a little difficult, but there were about 20 bonus points built into the homework. She also gave bonus for going to the last day of class, so do that.
Tests were nearly impossible, completely different concepts than what was on the HW. She didn't even get the mid term grades out before drop day. Seems to make the class harder than it needs to be. DO NOT GET!
This class is absurdly easy. She makes the class harder than it needs to be with mand-attendance. I learn from reading but she undercuts the book too much. She requires online video lectures with assignments for snow days that just eat more time than it would take me to read the material. Skimmed the chapters before each test, made an A on every1.
Managerial accounting is a very difficult course and Cornett is not very helpful at all. She flies through teaching and just assumes every one is on the same page as her. Tests are incredibly hard but you can manage if you put in a lot work. She gives a decent amount of bonus points which is helpful though.
The lectures are incredibly boring, but if you pay attention during the examples and do all the homework you can do well. She gives a lot of bonus which makes this class much easier. Managerial is also easier than financial accounting.
Take her!!! She is really passionate about the material and really tries to make sure you understand the material. She's really helpful in office hours, and gives out tons of bonus points. I took her for financial & managerial and got good grades in both.
This class was easy. Lectures are boring but give your clicker to someone. You can miss 6 classes and she makes homework worth a lot. I'm terrible at math and this class was pretty simple. I'd take her again if I could.
I love Mrs. Cornett! Yes her classes can get boring, but it's accounting. She gives so many attendance points, extra credit opportunities, and homework grades. She's very helpful with office hours and really understands that people taking this course are not interested in accounting. It was nice to have a professor who wanted to see us succeed
Mrs.Cornett is so awesome, she is very helpful and a great teacher. She is funny and makes the class more interesting even though, accounting classes are boring by nature. I highly recommend her, Take her if you can. Moe
Sweet teacher. lectures are long and boring and you have to get a certain amount of clicker points ( attendance) to get credit. but the grading scale is awesome. do every single homework. go to class. work problems from the book and you will do well. i got all C's on my exams and ended up with an 86. TAKE HER!!
I LOVE HER! I had taken miller in the fall and had to retake it because I failed. Came out with a B in Cornett's class. She makes the material so much easier to understand and there are tons of extra points to boost your grade. Best teacher I have had at Auburn.
Pretty great teacher! Very enthusiastic about the material. Go to office hours if you're confused about anything, she'll definitely clear it up. Really nice, I'd definitely take her again!
Super nice and super attractive!
She's fantastic! She works problems in class and is willing to go as far as posting video review on canvas. She's very helpful and she explains things on a level for everyone to understand, not just accounting majors (trust me, I'm Interior Design). Her tests are straight forward, but she does require attendance. It's well worth the time to go!
I'm terrible at accounting, but I managed to get an A in this class. If you go to 20 classes, you get 100% attendance points. There are extra homework assignments for extra credit! She even has bonus quizzes throughout the semester. If you put in a little extra effort, you can get an A!
She is one of the sweetest and most helpful teachers! She has 4 tests and a non cumulative final! Her tests are not too bad but she posts examples on canvas and does a lot in class. Also gives bonus points for in class quizes
Mrs. Cornett is awesome. I am an engineering student taking classes for my business minor and I was very uninterested and honestly nervous about accounting.. But she was very clear and offers so much EC theres no way you cant pass. She even puts her powerpoints on canvas for you to bring to class. TAKE HER. I almost wanted to change my major.
This is definitely not the most interesting subject, but it's extremely easy if you show up to class and do the homework assignments. Dr. Cornett tries to make the lectures as entertaining as possible, and she's really good at explaining the material clearly. Easy A... Take her.
Attendance is a must for this class. She will explain the material so that you feel you have a good understanding of it, but no practice associated with the way the test is presented is offered. Her tests suck, half the questions are abstract and don't have anything to do with what accounting actually is. Complete recall of Finc Acct is assumed.
Mrs. Cornett is awesome. I highly recommend her. She makes class fun and makes sure that you know the material. She also gives out a crap ton of bonus points.
Cornett is the best available for lower level accounting at Auburn. If you can survive her lectures then you can survive the class. Snapper lawn mowers will become very familiar to you. Her project isn't too demanding and her tests are easy if you study the night before.
I am accounting challenged. I am a non-business major, and I find the subject dry. Cornett does what she can to make the information digestible and entertaining. If you go to class, that's almost 10% of your grade just for showing up. She gives a lot of bonus opportunities, and being in class is important to give it. GTA's are awesome, too.
By far one of the best teachers I have had at Auburn. For a non-Business major, she made accounting very interesting and applicable. Participation plays a large factor in your grade. She is extremely helpful to her students and gives detailed instructions of what is expected.
She is a great professor, always ready to help and talk to you after class if you have questions. Attendance is required but she tends to give out a good amount of extra credit throughout the semester through iClicker questions, so its porbably worth going.
The lectures are pointless, but you have to go to pass and the bonus points are a blessing. Do all the bonus opportunities so you don't have to take the final. Get the "study guide" from a sorority friend and study from that.
Mrs. Cornett is really nice and a good teacher. Her tests can be kind of hard but she gives so much extra credit. The extra credit is just for going to class and checking in with an clicker but it brought my final grade up 5 points at the end of the semester.
Two words: Extra. Credit. Between all the bonus opportunities offered in class, and the way her grading system is set up (you can get up to 30 extra points in the homework category) an A is very easily achievable, even if your exam scores are decent at best. She gives very good lectures, and leaves you feeling very prepared for the exams!
I did not do well on the first 3 tests, & somehow pulled a B out of the class. She gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of that. Strict about homework deadlines and won't give you any credit if you forget to do it. You get 50 points in the class just for participation of coming to a certain # of classes. I would take her again for sure.
Received a C, B, A on the first 3 tests and with all the bonus she gives I will be pulling out an A. Mrs. Cornett is so sweet and gives so much opportunity to improve you grade! Homework is out of 50 but she gives you 70-80 points, so thats a possible 30 bonus points! She grades on a point based scale so a point is a point is a point! Love her!!
Mrs. C is the sweetest professor I've had at Auburn. Her tests ARE difficult if you do not study and not watch her Panopto videos. She offers TONS of extra credit, so take advantage of it. Also, attendance is basically mandatory for you to get your entire 50 points for attendance. She loves it when you come visit her in her office hours!
Mrs. Cornett is a wonderful professor and person. She is always willing to help out and loves people coming by during office hours. Makes a hard subject bearable. Lots of bonus opportunities in class, so go because they can make a letter grade difference.
Dr. Cornett is an amazing professor. While I felt this class was extremely hard, her positive attitude certainly made it bearable. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit so be sure you show up to class. While attendance is mandatory, you can miss 5 classes and maintain a large portion of your grade, and 10 before you FA.
Mrs. Cornett is great and she really cares about your grade. This is a non-business major class, so she really dumbs it down for us. GO TO CLASS because she gives a lot of easy bonus points that will truly help your grade. Take her if you can!!
Mrs. Cornett is amazing, she gives A LOT of extra credit and bonus points. just make sure you go to class. lectures notes are online but going to her class is not bad. Shes has cool stories that she shares.
Mrs. Cornett is probably the greatest professor I've had at Auburn. She wants her students to succeed in her class and love the subject like she does. With that being said, if you show up to class and do the work you can expect 10-12 points on your average. Canvas is usually quite a bit lower than your actual grade. Definitely take!!!
She gives tons of bonus. The notes are online, but you need to show up for the clicker bonus. You don't really have to take notes or pay attention that much. The practice quizzes are direct questions from the test. Just study the practice problems on canvas, and do the practice quizzes and bonus and you'll do way better than you'd think. Take her.
Cornett is great and DEFINITELY far easier than Miller. She tells you what to study before each test and if you listen to the lecture, do the practice problems, and read the book you'll be just fine. She also gives bonus for showing up and doing the clicker questions. I really enjoyed her and she makes the class as painless as possible
Where do I start? I am so thankful for the opportunity to have Mrs. Cornett as my professor! She truly cares about students and is always willing to help. She offers a lot of points in her class as well as extra credit. She knows her material well and thoroughly loves accounting, her love for it is contagious!
Mrs. Cornett is a great teacher. I really enjoyed her class, even though accounting isn't my forte. She made it interesting and accessible and gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. If you are choosing between this and the 'for-majors' class for a requirement or for the minor sequence, take this class with her!
By all means, take Mrs. Cornett if you need to take an intro to accounting class! I never made an A on her tests, yet I still came out with a decent A due to all the extra credit opportunities. She remembered my name after the first time I went to review my test. Plus, she has great stories that actually go well with the material.
fantastic teacher. she made the course incredibly interesting and you can really tell she wants her students to understand.
I didn't really enjoy the subject but I did enjoy having her as my professor. She gives out a lot of bonus points, I think i had close to 50 by the end of the semester. If you have a high enough A you can skip the final, which is nice. Going to class matters though, she'll fail you if you don't come enough. She's really approachable though.
She is amazing! I had to take this class for my business minor and I found it to be rather dry and difficult but she is really good at trying to help you. She does her best to try to help you and she gives lots of extra credit that helps out so much in the end. I only made one grade higher than a C on the tests and came out with a solid B!
Prof. Cornett was by far one of my favorite professors I have had at Auburn. She gives PLENTY of bonus opportunities. I had this class for my busi minor so I didn't care as much as I should have. I made low to mid D's on every exam, but finished with a C in the class! Take her for accounting if you can!
This class was difficult, but I enjoyed it overall. She moves really fast and covers a lot of info so it was sometimes hard to keep up. You do have to study consistently to do well, but she gives a ton of extra credit for just going to class. You will definitely have to study for this class, but test weren't too hard.
Mrs. Cornett is an amazing teacher and makes what should be a difficult class into an easy A. Lectures can be somewhat boring at times, but she does her best to make them understandable and fun. Very sweet and caring to everyone she interacts with. Definitely a solid class to take.
By far the best teacher in all of accounting. The only people who don't like her are the people who expect to do 0 work and still get a good grade. The class is insanely easy, (when she teaches it), and she finds a way to make the lectures entertaining.
She's great! Expectations clearly laid out: every assignment date, test date, and grading criteria posted on canvas from beginning. You can tell she's very organized. If you miss an assignment, it's on you. Some gimme points tied to attendance, which is easy to achieve. Bonus points in class sometimes. She WANTS to help students be successful.
I personally found accounting to be a terrible bore and was really not the best at it, but she truly tries to make the class interesting and REALLY cares about her students. She does everything in her power to help students be successful. She is hilarious and such a gem of a teacher. Take her if you get the chance!
Great teacher and manages to make a boring subject somewhat entertaining. Gives tons of extra credit both in class and out of class that really help to bring your grade up.
Good teacher and not a boring lecturer but it is a boring class. Don't take at 8 am because you may decide to sleep in instead. Attendance is all or nothing for points
this class is boring as anything but if you have to take it, take cornette. She's the easiest teacher offered but I just hated this class. It's super boring and really hard. I failed 3 tests but she offers a lot of bonus so that softens the blow.
I really enjoyed this class, in fact it was my favorite class out of my 5 classes this semester. Mrs. Cornett does a really good job teaching and is very approachable outside of class. It's a hard class so you have to put in a lot of time and effort but she really wants everyone to exceed. I would recommend to take Mrs. Cornett for sure.
Great professor. Gives extra credit in class and for attendance.
Cornett grades on a point system with a lot of bonus opportunities which made the class easy to get a good grade in. Attendance is optional but worth a lot of points. Good class.
For a difficult topic, Mrs Cornett makes it interesting and easy(ish). She was fun and told lots of real life stories to make the lecture more appealing. Work all of the practice homework and read the book; It will help a lot on tests. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities. She's so helpful outside of class too. She's the best!
Wonderful professor, very engaged and energetic even with an 8am class for 400+ students. If you really pay attention to the lectures and her examples, you only need to skim through the chapters before class. I'm taking Business as a minor and still found it somewhat interesting and got an A. Loads of easy extra credit, like an entire letter grade.
I am currently have a B in Mrs. Cornett's ACCT 2110 class. I find the material to be extremely boring, but she still manages to make it somewhat fun by cracking jokes in class! In order to do well, you will need to attend/participate in class AND read the book. Plenty of bonus opportunity is given, enough to raise your grade by a whole letter!
Great teacher but tough subject. Above all, do not cheat or she will nail you!
Mrs. Cornett was very sweet teacher, she would always be willing to help during office hours. However, her class was super difficult... I am not a Business Major (far from it) just needed the class for credit. I attended every single class and payed attention and absolutely struggled to pull a D. Don't let her looks fool you!! she means "Business"
BORING SUBJECT but she makes it kind of fun. I enjoy her class, but not the material. She give a lot of extra credit and sometimes gives it just for coming to class, so GO TO CLASS. She is so passionate about accounting and it shows through her lectures. She often makes funny and corny accounting jokes!
Truly the best teacher I've had at Auburn. So kind and understanding, very accessible and helpful in her office hours. Always wiling to calculate your grade for you since she uses a points system. Accounting definitely isn't easy but she tries to make it understandable and fun. Love love love this lady!
The class in general is hard, but Cornett does what she can to help. She gives tons of bonus points and will always give extra help during office hours. Reading the textbook and doing the recommended homework problems is the only way to get an A.
CORNETT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. She truly loves accounting and cares about her students. She gave over 70 points of extra credit on a 600 point scale. She is helpful in office hours and her lectures are dummy proof. GO TO CLASS!!! Not an Easy A but not an impossible A. You will have to work for it but she makes you want to work for it.
Love Mrs. Cornett, she's awesome and fun in class. Does a good job of teaching her class as well. Gives a lot of extra credit to handicap bad grades. Use test banks and powerpoints to prepare for the test. Easy A if you want it to be due to the amount of extra credit given.
Mrs. Cornett is a great teacher, and she makes a boring topic interesting. I had no background in accounting, but it was an easy A. She gives tons of extra credit (like 15 percentage points.) As long as you make C's on the tests, then you should make an A in the class.
Cornett is awesome. She genuinely wants her students to do well. Unfortunately, financial accounting at Auburn is the hardest class ever. Cornett herself is great though. DO ALL THE BONUS! It bumps you almost a full letter grade if you do it all. Loved Cornett but honestly so glad to be done with this class.
The class was out of 600 points and we were given 677 to get there. There is a lot of bonus. You need to read the textbook to follow along. 5 tests each in equal weight. Participation in class matters.
Makes lectures interesting although material is difficult. Accessible and helpful in office hours. She really wants you to do well in her class. Do all of the bonus because it will really boost your grade in the end.
Cornett is awesome! You need the textbook and you need to read to do well in this class. She makes herself available for you to get help and she's just a really nice person in general. 4 tests plus a final and she gives so much bonus!
She is freaking awesome. Take her if you can.
This class is pretty difficult. She requires reading assignments before class and homework for the chapters covered before each test. Tests are difficult and have a lot of problem-solving. She does post in-class problems on Canvas which will benefit you when studying for tests. Does offer extra credit and an in-class project to help your grade
Great teacher! Take her if you can! She gives 4 tests (the last one is the 'final' but its not cumulative) open format and multiple choice. She puts all of the powerpoints online at the beginning of the sem., so do yourself a favor and print them off so you can follow along and add in notes instead of trying to scribble everything down in class.
Was very difficult to work with and a rather unfair teacher. She had a hard time making things easy to understand for the class.
Super easy to understand and very generous with bonus points. If you don't do well, you're just not cut out for accounting. Tests were tricky but as long as you put in the work you shouldn't have any issues.
Super easy!! I skipped almost classes but I still got 95 in three exams. Besides, she would give many bonus chances, so I did not do any review for final.
Hardest class ever and she sucks at teaching the material. I studied for weeks in advance, read the textbook, went to class, watched her videos, & did homework and class prep and still made 40-60 on tests. Only good thing is she gives you alot of extra credit. If this class isn't for your major take it at a community college. Homework takes FOREVER
Cornett is an awesome professor! She keeps lectures interesting and there are no surprises on the tests. She changed the format of her class where there are homework and class-prep assignments which help your grade. She gave about 60 points of extra credit. Wants all of her students to do well. The multiple choice was hardest for me on tests!
Great professor. This class is tough but if you study and make an effort you will succeed. She gives a ridiculous amount of bonus points at the end of the semester.
She's a great teacher and definitely loves what she does; I've never seen anyone so excited at 8 am. If you're taking accounting at Auburn, she is your best option to take. There are several exams, only one being rather difficult. The homework requires a lot of time and effort but it can be completed. If you put in the work, you can easily get an A
Very clear on explaining things and she's a dime!
Honestly, I thought she was a really good teacher and cared a lot about her students when she went out of her way to video chat with me to review tests and work. However, she is extremely unclear on her grading criteria and does not follow her syllabus.I should have easily gotten the letter grade higher than I did-she chose not to abide by her word
I took Cornett's class online through a study abroad program and definitely worked hard for this class. The CengageNow homework was definitely the most difficult part of the class just because of how tedious the program is, but Cornett was super helpful with these and was always available to help. Hard class for sure, but Cornett is a great prof
Take her for any accounting class you can! She's so nice and ridiculously smart but makes it easy to understand. She makes it pretty clear what you'll be tested on! Gives extra credit opportunities so take advantage of those. Such a lovable woman! I would definitely recommend taking her!
This course overall is supposedly a very difficult class, but Cornett does a wonderful job of breaking things down and explaining them in a way where they make sense. I would email her an hour before the test with questions I had, and she respond right away. She's a professor who is clearly passionate about her subject and wants you to succeed.
Absolutely love her!!! She makes accounting really enjoyable! The class isn't hard if you put in effort!
Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class is the only way to pass her class. If you go to class, you will learn everything you need for the test. She basically goes over the exact thing that is going to be on the test during her class. She also has many opportunities for extra credit, very helpful.
Ms. Cornett is awesome! Go to class - her lectures are engaging and reflect the content on exams. She does a great job of breaking down hard concepts and giving examples. She also works problems that help a lot with understanding the material. She is very helpful in office hours and really cares about you understanding the subject. SHE ROCKS!!!
Mrs. Cornett is fantastic. Very engaging lectures with personal anecdotes sprinkled throughout combined with her enthusiasm for the material make the class much more entertaining. She also works out helpful examples in class, and posts very useful videos on Canvas for review if you didn't understand something. One of the best classes I've taken.
Mrs. Cornett is a really cool teacher. She gives tons of extra credit which really helps boost your grade. Her lectures can get boring, but she is funny and adds stories to make them interesting. There is weekly homework and the tests are difficult, but going to SI can definitely help. This is a tough class to get an A in, but she is the best.
Mrs. Cornett is very sweet and she really cares about the class. She gives out a lot of bonus that will help you greatly if you do not do well on the test. The homework is a little tedious but that will also help your grade out a lot if you make 100's on them. Test arent too bad and she usually tells you what will be on there.
A truly excellent professor. If you are required to take financial accounting, this is the only professor you should take. She does a tremendous job explaining concepts and working through problems.
2110 is a HARD class. I studied weeks before the tests, went to SI sessions, and got a tutor and still made C's on all the tests. That being said, Mrs. Cornett is a GREAT teacher. She is super passionate about the subject and makes it easy to understand with problems and stories during lectures. Test were brutal ngl
Mrs. Cornett is such an amazing professor. Unfortunately, she is teaching a very difficult subject, and while she does not take attendance, you definitely need to make every class. I have her at 8am, so I have missed many classes, and my grade is suffering because her exams are very difficult as well, but I plan to take her again in the fall!
She is an amazing teacher. Go to her during office hours, come to class, do the homework, and study hard, and you can do well in her class. She is interesting in lectures. Her tests are very reasonable, mostly half multiple choice and half short answer (usually journal entries). Homework isn't that bad. Definitely recommend.
She is a very good teacher. The material is pretty straight forward and right off the powerpoint. If you go to SI, you will get the free response right on every test. Multiple choice is the only tricky thing on the tests, but still not hard. Tons of bonus, and use example solutions she gives to do HW. Pretty easy class, just be careful on the MC.
Tons of extra credit. Can make cs on all the regular test and still make an A. Going to lecture isnt required, it was only helpful a couple times. Just whatever you do or dont do, make sure you do the extra credit and homework. Easy A
I love Mrs. Cornett! The best prof I've had at AU. 4 test + a final (not cumulative). MC is the hardest part of the test but free response will save you. Go to class, not sure why her attendance was always so low. Go to SI as well. Study early and you can do well. If you need help, go see her!!! Really cares and wants to help you! Recommend!
Dr. Cornett really cares about her students. She is extremely helpful outside of class and comes to class with a smile on her face every day. She definitely expects you to put in the work, but if you do it will pay off. Do the extra credit, study hard for the tests, and beware of the multiple choice. Overall, my favorite prof I've had at Auburn!
Take her anyways, I was get 46 in exam but I still got a B. She had many chances to get extra credit. If you do what she ask you to do it's a easy A for you.
Mrs. Cornett was always available to answer any questions. The non-cumulative final was a true blessing. Gave us extra credit just for being registered to vote.
Material overall is hard but she does a great job to teach and help students understand. Grade is based on total points and she provides a ton of extra credit. Got above an 80 once on a test and still going to get a B on final grade. She tells lots of funny stories. Tells you what exactly is on tests beforehand.
SO nice. She really wants you to do well and gives so much extra credit. She is very understanding and always tries to make lectures interesting. Gives clear guidelines for how to study for the tests, and is always keeping you posted on her office hours. Really wished she taught acct 2 because she made a rough subject actually enjoyable.
Best choice for ACCT 2110. I failed and nearly failed the first two tests but came out with an A bc of the extra credit. She is very lively in lectures and is worth going to class, despite accounting being a rough course to sit through. Do the practice problems in the book to succeed, and don't be afraid to go to office hours, she's super friendly.
She is a very nice lady and wants to see her students succeed. I really struggled with accounting and on some of the tests, but still easily got an A due to all the extra credit she offered. The online homework helps boost your grade. There are 5 tests, the final is not cumulative. She always told us what was going to be on open format of the exam.
Can do the HW until you get a 100% and that's a solid part of your grade. The MC part of the tests are hard, but she basically gives you the free response questions and gives a ton of bonus, so it's easy enough to recover from missing some of those MC ones. Show up to class because some of the bonus is only available if you were in class.
I had to take a second to brag on Ms. Cornett. This is not a super hard class, but you do have to put the time in to understand it. She posts a ton of videos of the lectures on canvas so if you need to go back over something, it's there. I would still go to class because she gives a lot of extra credit and tips for the tests.
Dr. Cornett is great. She makes everything really clear when she explains it and makes sure to do a lot of practice problems in class, as well as providing homework outside of class so you can really cement the material. I'd suggest doing the homework as you learn about the concepts in class, as it can really pile up. Go to class though.
Mrs. Cornett is an AMAZING TEACHER! She makes accounting fun and loves her students and wants to help them to the best of her ability. Even with all the things going on with zoom she does her absolute best to make sure we are comfortable! TAKE HER!
The homework is barely like the test. Lectures don't help because she goes over vocal and concepts and works like 2 problems that aren't even on the homework. During the coronavirus her expectations and grading did not change even though we were all in a pandemic. She gives a lot of extra credit so show up to class. I wouldn't recommend.
Cornett makes accounting a joke. She tells you EXACTLY what a test's short answer questions will be, and offers almost 40 points in bonus over the course of the semester. On the first day of class she tries to scare non-buisness majors away, claiming this is one of the hardest classes in the HCOB. Its not. Its easy.
Dr. Cornett was a great professor! Just make sure you understand the material if you have to go onto Intermediate accounting, that's when things get difficult. Your Auburn Alumni C.H.
Mrs. Cornett is the best teacher you will get for a tough accounting class. She gives you everything you need to succeed. If you want an A, I highly recommend reading the book prior to going to class lectures and studying daily. Otherwise, her tests will be tough. There is plenty of extra credit, though. People failed 2+ tests and still got Bs.
I really really loved mrs. Cornett. She explained things so well and answered questions great. ASK QUESTIONS. I just really loved this class. Made me understand a lot about the business and finance world. Very glad I took this class. Also homework was all I did to prepare for the test cause you could do it unlimited times
One of the best professors I have had at Auburn! The class can be difficult, but the lectures and assignments she gives you prepare you for the test. I do not recommend skipping, you will be very behind and confused. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students! I saw this especially when COVID hit and she was more than happy to help!
Mrs. Cornett is a great professor. Even though she gives out homework assignments and quizzes, she gives out bonus opportunities that are definitely a grade booster. She responds to emails and wants you to understand the material. She made this class easy to understand, especially under COVID circumstances.
Hands down, the best teacher I have had at Auburn yet. You are missing out if you don't take her. Always willing to help students, responds to emails very quickly. She is so nice and approachable. A 5-star rating doesn't do her justice.
Very caring professor. I am glad I was able to take her because she makes accounting seem like a lot of fun and she actually helped me to decide that I want to minor in accounting.
Cornett is amazing! I read the text book, took notes, did homework, and listened to her lectures. She is super nice and easy to get in touch with. I wish she taught every level of accounting courses! She's smart and knows what she is talking about.
This class very much depends on how much work you put in. It is not a heavy workload but if you don't understand the material from the beginning, you most likely will not do good. Professor Cornett is caring and wants you to do good. She does a great job with teaching the material and is easily accessible outside of class.
The course content itself is not easy, but if you are able to understand the first chapter and do well on the first test, then the rest isn't too bad. Accessible outside of class - she responds to emails quickly. Her and her GTA have office hours all the time. Just put in the work and you'll be fine!
She is a great professor who really supports her students and makes the expectations of the class very clear from the start. However, the exams do not particularly match the material taught in online lectures or homework, and a lot of the difficulty in this class came from the online format and not being able to get much feedback from her.
Accounting can be difficult, especially for non-accounting or finance majors, but she is very good at explaining everything. She gives so many buffer points with Packback, homework, quizzes, assignments and really makes is hard to not do well in the class. Study the textbook and do the homework and you will do fine.
Literally I dont know why she has so many good ratings like yes she the best accounting professor auburn has but she is still terrible. My class right now every test average is a 70. We work are butts off to still made 60s-70s on the exam. The exams are nothing like the homework and she purposely makes the multiple choice on her exams confusing.
Professor Cornet is definitely the worst professor I have ever had. She seems like she's nice, but she is one of the harshest graders and test makers. There are no gimme points on any of her assignments ever. Her lectures are some of the most dry and boring things that I have had to endure/tolerate. They also do not help that much with her tests or
homework or quizzes. The textbook is not even worth reading. Her tests are nothing like her quizzes or her homework assignments. Her in-class examples are very simple compared to the homework and to her tests. If you do not use Google for the quizzes, you will not do well, also due to the restrictive time limit. Her homework take hours to complete.
Accounting is not easy but she really tries to help, especially with SI and GA. Do the extra credit and always do the HW. The HW has unlimited attempts, you need to get 100 every time. If you are the average student a B should not be too hard, but you have to REALLY try for an A.
I loved having Cornett and I would take her again 100%. The only people who complain are the people who never put the time into the class. Read over the textbook before the lectures and you will be fine. The tests are always exactly what she said and what we practiced. She's also super sweet and gives extra credit options.
Sign up for her class NOW. As long as your regularly attend class, do the homework, quizzes, and PackBack, you will be fine. My test average was in the 70s, and I got a high B in this class. Cornett gives lots of extra credit that boosts your grade. This class is NOT easy, but it is very doable to make a high B, if not an A.
Hard class but she's a great teacher. You definitely have to put the work in, but she does a great job of doing problems, giving examples, and explaining concepts in the book. She's always willing to help during office hours.
Mrs. Cornett was very caring for her students and truly wanted us to succeed. The exams were challenging, but the homework was helpful and she also taught the material well and her teaching prepared you for the exams. She was a great teacher overall and also she was very clutch at the end of the semester with extra credit and bumping up my grade.
She is a really great teacher. You have to put in the work in order to succeed and do well. Do all the extra credit she offers, it really adds up in the end. Her tests don't exactly line up with the material she covers in class and they are very difficult, but if you do well on all the other assignments you will end up with a good grade.
I loved having Ms. Cornett. She was very helpful when I had questions. I highly recommend office hours and SI sessions. The worksheets provided are extremely helpful! Make sure to attend class because if not you will be behind and confused. Review your test when given the opportunity. The class is hard but doable with all the grade opportunities.
Mrs. Cornett is an incredible teacher. If you go to her office hours and ask for help, she will explain things so clearly! If you don't read the book, you will NOT pass the class. Tests are a major component of your grade. Mrs. Cornett is encouraging and comes to class with a positive attitude, always welcoming questions!
I doubt all good ratings in here. Maybe she can hire some students as a part time job forced to write a good evaluation for her. Her test is literally not matching with all materials which are way too difficult and has a stupid open format which takes ur points away a lot. She is really intrusive and treats students like highschooler.
If accounting is not your thing then you MUST take this professor. She gives enough bonus to raise your grade an entire letter grade. You need to read each chapter and go to class in order to do well. She gives homework/bonus for every chapter(Around 50 bonus points). Lots of work and your grade accurately represents how much work you have done!
Dr. Cornett is without a doubt the best accounting professor at Auburn. She gives out plenty of homework and bonus opportunities that may seem tedious, but if you struggle on an exam, they'll be huge for your grade. Read the book, watch the lectures and do the homework and you'll be fine.
This was a hard class, but Mrs. Cornett explains concepts and how to answer the questions in her videos very well. The bonus opportunities saved my grade. She was also very helpful during office hours and wants her students to succeed. She understands how hard the material is for non-accounting majors.
Accounting can be a hard class, especially for non accounting majors. But, Mrs. Cornett is great at explaining concepts and going over problems. She's a great teacher that wants her students to succeed. She provides help outside of class and gives plenty of extra credit which saved my grade (made my hard work feel worth it)!
Mrs. Cornett is a great professor but you really have to work hard for the grade you want. Accounting is naturally a difficult course, but she gives tons of homework and extra credit opportunities. Her lectures are good, I recommend recording them. She is very nice and completely understanding.
Material is what makes the class a little more difficult, but she genuinely cares about you understanding it and encourages you to ask questions.
She is super nice and encouraging. Her lectures include the info itself along with stories that make the class more entertaining. The class itself is extremely difficult and requires a lot of time/effort outside of class. She offers bonuses often and does care about students. I would recommend going to her office hours and the help sessions.
I LOVE Ms. Cornett. By far one of the best professors I have taken, and even better for honors because a smaller class compared to the other accounting classes. 5 tests (non cumulative final), a longish homework for each chapter, a couple open note quizzes, a ton of extra credit, and a project for honors. Reading the textbook helps a lot.
Dr Cornett is the best Auburn principles of accounting professor. I personally learned best from the examples. Reading the book is a good practice as well. She gives plenty of extra credit as well. You have to earn your grade. Overall great professor.
i absolutely love prof cornett. we have 5 test that can be somewhat difficult but she gives you so many other opportunities to get your grade up. we have TONS of extra credit to boost our grade. she's so helpful and wants every single student to do well in her class. if you have the option of taking her 1000% do it. nothing bad to say about her.
She is an amazing teacher! TAKE HER. She really cares about all her students and wants them to do well. She gives out a ton of extra credit which really helps boost your grade. The SI sessions are really helpful and the peer instructors also genuinely help you understand the material.
She is a great professor, but her class is difficult. She also knows this, but it is not her fault as to why the class is hard. The material in the first place is just confusing and hard to comprehend. Without her help though, I would not be doing as well as I have been throughout the year.
My favorite class this semester. It is confusing at times but if you go to class and put effort into your homework you will be fine. She gives so much extra credit that I do not know how people fail out of this class. When calculating what I needed to make on the final I realized I could have a 68% test average and still make an A. Take her!!!!
Great teacher! Hard tests, but not too bad if you consistently go to class.
Cornett is amazing!!!! She lectured in person and posted supplemental videos for us to watch outside of class. It is by no means an easy class but she is by far the best option for a professor! She gives out so many bonus points that your test grades aren't going to make or break your grade. TAKE HER!!
This is the best professor I have ever had
I love her so much, best in the business school. She really cares and gives so much opportunity for extra credit. IMO, her tests are easy and are similar to her study guides/homework. Homework due every week, unlimited tries. Lectures can drag but she tries to be funny to keep us awake at 8am. Take her!!
Professor Cornett is my favorite professor at Auburn. She gives so many bonuses and really wants to help her students. Take this class if you can!!
Mrs. Cornett is by far my favorite professor at Auburn! She assigns one homework per week, with unlimited attempts. The tests can seem daunting, and count for a large portion of your grade, but if you read the textbook and utilize the study materials at the end of each chapter, they really aren't too bad! She gives lots of opportunity for bonus!
On the previous review, I meant to put a 5/5 for quality! Mrs. Cornett is amazing! She genuinely cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed!
I loved Professor Cornett!! She does everything she can to make accounting interesting and fun. Very clear grading criteria and many bonus opportunities. Material can get complicated but there are many ways to prepare and test yourself. She makes great use of Slack and encourages students to reach out for help. Take her!
Professor Cornett is amazing. She tries her best to make class entertaining by telling funny stories and has a fun personality. The material is really hard but she does a really good job of teaching it and tries her best to help you in and out of class. She's super accessible and cares about her students. Would definitely recommend her!!!
Mrs. Cornett is the best! The class isn't easy because accounting is hard but she makes it as easy as possible. She provides extra credit opportunities all semester and the homework is largely based on work done in class, but you don't have to go.
Accounting is really hard, but Mrs. Cornett did her best to make it fun and interesting. There is a lot of homework and the tests are really hard. An A is difficult, but only if you study really hard. She also gave a bunch of extra credit which helped keep my A in the end.
She is the BEST!!!! I took this class as a mini-semester over the summer, and it was a lot of work. She made it very clear from the beginning that students would need to put a little time in every day to succeed. She is always helpful in office hours, and wants to help everyone! If she taught all accounting classes, I would be an accounting major!
As a Chinese student, I could understand all the important points and most of the examples in her class. She will take into account the language problems of foreign students and use simple words to explain. Replies to emails very quickly. After class, she was very patient and she was the best teacher I have ever seen.
Super sweet professor, easy to talk to! But HOLY COW, multiple choice on tests are beyond difficult! Kinda leaves you in the dark on what to study for MC (worth more than half of the test) but explains all open ended questions. I attend every class, attend as many SI sessions as possible, and this class is very hard. You better know the book F2B!!!
Took her for managerial over the summer and absolutely loved her! If you have to chose between Miller and Cornett definitely chose Cornett she is so sweet and explains everything so well. She also is super understanding and helpful.
take professor cornett!! she's the best professor I had all year! modules are well organized and she wants you to pass! lots of extra credit (helped my grade by literally a letter grade) weekly hw, bonus quizzes, extra credit assignments, 5 exams (final is exam 5), problems in class r identical to exam questions. acct is hard but makes it easier.
Her class is so hard, and she says she will help you but she won't. Recently had a problem with technology, on her end it messed up, and she refused to help me with my grade. She stated things that weren't true about the situation and when I showed proof, she made up another reason to not help me. The extra credit barely helps your grade. 5 tests.
Could not recommend enough!!! Ms. Cornett is an incredible professor, especially for a class as difficult as accounting. She offered lots of opportunities to apply concepts in homework, provided supplemental materials to lectures, and is more than willing to help you personally. If you have the opportunity, jump at the chance to take her class!
I love Cornett! She is very knowledgeable and cares for all her students.
Really good professor with lots of extra credit opportunities. Tests are not easy but this is just a difficult subject
Averaged a 69 on exams but made a B due to extra credit and homework. Attendance mandatory but you can skip a few classes and still get full credit on attendance. Compared to my friends in accounting Cornett is the best teacher and its not close. Also the class is gonna be hard but that's just accounting.
I enjoyed taking this class and Cornett offers a lot of extra credit to help with your grade. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is a grade for it if you go. She doesn't teach the homework, so you need to learn to do it by yourself. The SI sessions are great for learning how to do the open note portion on the test.
She is a fantastic professor. Very clearly cares about her students. Definitely have to put in the work for the class, but valuable information to know anyways. Would highly recommend.
This class is very difficult!! She does give a lot of extra credit, but the tests are extremely difficult especially the multiple choice. She does not explain topics very well or in depth, and outside resources are the most helpful.
do not take anyone but cornett for acct 2110. great professor and gives so many bonus point credits that keep your grade good even if you make c's on the exams, si sessions help but are not always needed. uses iclicker so attendance is mandatory and definitely lets political views show which was a con but to each their own
Mrs. Cornett is very knowledgeable abt what she teaches. She has extra credit quizzes for every chapter & homework. She gives 5 exams (no cumulative final). She does an extra credit assignment abt the middle of the semester that gives you a major boost. For the test, multiple choice can be tricky, but not impossible. GO TO THE SI's they help sm
The only thing I don't like about her class is the homework. It can be confusing or tricky and is not always like the practice problems we do in class. When studying for the test, do not worry about the homework problems. The tests match the practice problems she gives in class (though she doesn't give very many practice problems).
In order to get the best grade for accounting, she is your best bet. She is really hard to follow in lectures, uses iClicker, and tests are difficult, but there is plenty of extra credit given to help you keep a decent grade.
I loved Ms.Cornett!!! She is a sweetheart & arguably the best accounting professor at Auburn. Exams are a mix of multiple choice & fill-in-the-blank but the textbook problems are the exact same as the test questions. I averaged a mid C on all the exams but with the extra credit assignments, attendance points, and bonus quizzes I finished with a 92.
Cornett gives her students a lot of bonus opportunities and cares about her students. Accounting is hard as it is but she makes it easier to understand!
If you have to take Accounting, take professor Cornett. It's a lot of information, but she makes it easy to understand. Lots of extra credit assignments that really boost your grade. I should definitely have a C but because of the extra credit, I have a B so definitely recommend professor Cornett. She's super sweet and easy to talk to too.
I've never taken Accounting before, and as Liberal Arts major I was coming in blind. She made accounting so easy to understand. She has endless resources, she tells you exactly what's going to be on the test, and she is so caring and understanding. I can't recommend her enough.
If you're taking ACCT 2110 take Mrs.Cornett. One of the best teachers I've ever had!! You definitely get out what you put into this class. I studied for hours for the tests, but it was always worth it. Her mc part of the tests are hard, but open format is exactly what we review in SI. Perfect amount of work for a harder class. So much extra credit.
Everyone loves mrs. cornett. She was an amazing professor who spoke clearly about what we had to know for exams and gave so many chances for extra credit!
I recommend her for ACCT 2210 over other teachers. While her class is difficult, if you put the time and work in you can succeed. She offers many extra credit opportunities that significantly help your grade. MC part is hard on the test so make sure to know the open-ended part really well.
Class is somewhat tough but Ms. Cornett is extremely nice and approachable. As long as you put in the effort and work through the homeworks you should be fine. Tests were balanced pretty well, and she has a lot of extra methods for you to learn the content.
Ms Cornett is the best teacher to take for ACCT 2110. The class is tough, but that is just accounting. She gives a handful of extra credit which I have never seen another teacher do. If you do the homework and all the extra credit it is very hard not to earn at least a B in her class. She cares about her students and shows that.
Took this class for a business minor (engineering major), and this was by far my easiest class. TONS of extra credit opportunities and plenty of time to work on assignments. Pay attention during lectures and you're golden. Office hours by appointment (so you're guaranteed to meet with her) and an army of TAs.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor is very passionate about the subject and rarely lost my attention. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit in the class and the way she taught just really makes sense.
Overall this class is already hard and Cornett didn't make it any easier. The class lectures bever helped me with the homework and the final exam was nothing like the in class work we did. There were always too many things you could look at. Go to SI sessions and read the textbooks.
Very difficult class, but lots of opportunities for points and extra credit. If you do the work you can get a good grade. The extra credit quizzes help and there is 20 points available for attendance if you attend 90% of the classes.
Mrs. Cornett overloads students with information on accounting basics. I took her class online and her communication with students was terrible. She made us use Slack but then took hours to respond. She gives vague answers when responding to questions. Her examples are not like the test. She should learn how to help students or stop teaching.
Do not take the summer course for this class. A normal semesters length worth of material is shoved into 5 weeks. The firs announcement she sends to the class says if you don't put in 3-5 hours of work a day, to include weekends and holidays, you will not perform well in the class. That should say it all.
Prof Cornett actually cares about her students. This is a hard class, doesn't matter which professor you take, but she let me make up an assignment I did terrible on and gives clear expectations for what is going to be on the test. This isnt a class you can coast, but none of the acct classes are. She is your best choice when taking any acct class.
Best teacher for this class, This class heavily builds on itself so just study hard for the first 2 tests and the rest of the course is not that hard, 5 tests so plenty of opportunities to raise your grade. SI sessions are available and are almost identical to the test as well, so just suck it up and go.
Professor Cornett makes a boring class not so bad. Good lectures, clear grading criteria. She tells you exactly what will be on your test and does not try to trick you. Extra credit opportunities available. Read the textbook and practice the homework! SI is helpful too
Mrs. Cornett actually makes accounting understandable! She makes sure to take her time and explain things and goes over a ton of practice problems in class with you. What she says will be on the test is 100% accurate, she's not trying to trick you and actually wants you to succeed.
Cornett is an amazing professor but this is definitely a hard course. There was so much information she gave to us it was hard narrow down what to study for. If you think you might struggle in accounting I would recommend Miller instead.
While I ultimately had to withdraw from this class, Mrs. Cornett was extremely caring and supportive throughout my time in the class. She acknowledged that this class is one of the hardest in the college of business and understood. She lectured every class, but often let class out a few minutes early and gave lots of opportunity for extra credit.
Take her if you can. She gives INSANE amount of extra credit, but more than that she is a caring, loving teacher, whom you want to learn from. She is straightforward about test material. Homework is a bother, but so helpful. Let be real this is just a tough class, so thank god we have Mrs. Cornett because she makes it bearable
I loved Mrs. Cornett so much but this class was extremely hard. Would study for weeks to still do bad on the exams. the extra credits and homeworks help but they're still hard.
Professor Cornett is very sweet but I got nothing from her lectures. You are better off teaching yourself the material and getting a tutor. She offers a LOTTT of extra credit so please take advantage and do it because it will really help your grade in the end. no final just a regular last exam.
The class itself was extremely difficult to understand and get a passing grade due to the lectures being hard to understand. She means well, but I didn't get anything out of this class.
Financial Accounting is a hard class but Professor Cornett did a great job teaching the concepts. She is very kind and thoroughly explains the material. Lots of extra credit!
Stopped going to class after a few weeks because the lectures were boring and exhausting. Was able to learn the material myself before the exams and did fine. Homeworks have unlimited attempts and she offers extra credit that added 4 percentage points to my whole grade.
I cannot say enough good things. This class could have been very difficult because the information is not necessarily easy, but she provides so many resources to help you understand the material. As long as you do the homework assignments and understand how to do the in-class assignments, you should do just fine. I highly recommend this class.
Professor Cornett's class can be challenging, but she provides great resources to help you succeed. Definitely take advantage of the extra credit opportunities. For additional study help, I found unstuckstudy ai to be a valuable tool alongside the textbook and in-class assignments.
