she is an amazing teacher.. i took her this semester for 422 IR and she makes IR so interesting even if ur not... u have to take notes and be in class every session to get an A.. there is a paper but it is eassy and her tests are all essay questions.. i recommand her

easy class. just copy the notes she puts up on the slide projector. all test are multiple choice. you have to be an idiot not to pass.

She gives a lot of notes so be prepared to write a lot... As long as you attend and take notes you should be fine.However she gets really annoyed at anyone with cell phones or people that leave class early.

You will be taking alot of notes and she doenst allow laptops. Good teacher for an intro class but she was very tough attendance wise. 3 misses and you loss participation for the semester, no make up test unless you have a written DR. note. She also didnt control the focus of class disgussions. People where talking about whatever.

Made class very interesting and inspired me to become a political science major. Students must be willing to visit office hours, speak up in class, be open minded and have good attendance. She obviously knows the material well & made this the BEST class I have ever taken!! Highly recommend

I love her. She was very interesting. You do have to come to class but as long as you pay attention you will be ok. Without reading you're guarantee to get a C. If read the book then it's an easy A.

She is not that easy. She can be very difficult if you miss class, so don't miss class. She has numerous exams worth much. All these exams stem from her lectures and book readings. Buy the brief California edition if she adopts that book again. Don't miss her lectures; it should be an easy A.

Magnificent! Loved it! She got her P.H.D. in Cultural Pluralism in Africa, so this class is her baby, and she's very passionate about it. If you're interested in anything outside this country, you'll take this class. Somewhat heavy burden on students, but not bad. You learn so much if you put in a little effort. Tests fine... study guide before.

Fantastic teacher, my fav so far at CSUN! She makes you work, but what else can be expected in a 400 level class? Very clear in what she wants, hands out study guides and has class create their own essay questions for midterm and final. Would definitely recommend her for any class she's teaching, I will take her for anything else I can :-)

Was an easy professor but had interesting things to teach.

Amazing professor. She cares about the students and clarifies any misunderstandings any student may have. A 6 page paper, a midterm and a final were part of the curriculum. Study guides were always available. Take her if the class is not filled up!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE TEACHERS. Very helpful and makes the class interesting and relevant. Tests are online and if you take good notes they're easy.Just make sure you write what she is saying...not just whats on the powerpoint. Then you'll do good.

Definitely recommend her for political science! Shes really easy to understand. It is a lecture class so during class you dont need the book only something to take notes with. Attendance is important! TAKE THE READING SERIOUSLY because the class has about 5 exams which includes the final (good thing the final isnt cumalative)! only hw= read & study

Amazing teacher. She's made me want to switch my major to political science. It's a big class and there some students who get the material and some who don't. The professor did a great job of teaching to all levels. I want to take as many classes as I can with her!!!

I love her!! She is a great professor. There are 4 exams that count toward your grade, they are all on line. Now before you think you can cheat your way to an A think again. The online test has a time limit, about 1 min per question. Her material is pretty much based on the lectures, so you have to show up and take good notes. She makes lectures interesting and relates them to the students. Sometimes she talks to fast but will repeat or clarify if asked. I highly recommend her!

I actually really liked this class. She's great & makes the material interesting. All the guys in the class were in love with her & the girls all liked her style!

I'm taking her 155 class right now. I'm a 4.0 student after 33 units and I would highly reccomend this professor. Very clear during lectures, very helpful, and VERY ATTRACTIVE. She makes it very clear what is going to be on an exam. Again, I would highly reccomend this professor.

Incredibly nice, helpful, and passionate about what she is teaching. Is fun while still being educational. Class grade is based on 4 of 5 exams (the lowest grade gets dropped). She's one of those professors that is so good at teaching, you want to take her other classes, even if you showed no prior interest in the subject.

Her class was chill. If you are quite knowledgeable about American politics, you don't need the textbook. I got an A- from just listening to her lectures. I say she's a great educator. She's really nice.

The class consists of the best 4 exams out of 5. The final is NOT cumulative, and all exams are on moodle, and are timed. Bringing a laptop to class and typing down the lecture notes is a lot easier because she goes at a pretty fast paced. The class is not extremely difficult but it is not easy either. As long as you study, you will do alright.

She is an amazing instructor. You can definitely tell she loves what she is talking about and she knows her stuff. The class is easy as long as you attend class, take notes and read. Basically just stay on top of your stuff and you'll pass. She's very sweet. And it's an interesting class. She plays fun clips to help explain the concepts.

She is the best. Her classes are impossible to get into because they always fill up before the first day, but it's definitely worth trying. She's beautiful and smart. She's also very nice and helpful. I wish I could take all my classes with her.

PolySci 155 was fairly easy. Her lectures are clear and interesting but be prepared to take good notes. All the tests are online so you're able to take them at home. Prof De Maio is really kind and open for discussion on various topics. She's also extremely hot. She's the most intriguing, intelligent, and beautiful person you will ever meet.

She's very knowledgeable and extremely attractive. Lectures are very clear and organized and also asks students to share their political opinions. There were five exams, all online, and two short papers that were pretty easy. All of the test answers were stated clearly in the lectures so go to class and it's an easy pass.

She's a great professor but don't let everyone's opinion about her hotness detour from the fact that she is a hard professor. She has great lectures but you really have to take notes on your own and listen to her power points because her midterm and final are the only two things she grades you on and they are VERY hard!

Professor De Mario is an amazing professor, but do not take if you want an easy A. You will have to work and study hard. Her test questions are very specific, but nothing will catch you off guard. Her lectures will be her tests.

Honestly, she's one of the best teacher I ever had so far, she nice and caring about her students. Attendance isn't mandatory, but her class is really fun and there were some interesting discussion during Fall 2016, due to the election of course. She's always happy to help her students. Pretty hot teacher too, but sadly she's married LOL

professor de maio is for sure one of the best lecturers to take in polisci. caring and very detailed in all her lectures. book is needed. 1 midterm, 1 final, both online, both timed, and both open book. she engages the class very well. doesnt have a left or right agenda like most teachers do. and also incredibly goooood looking

Professor De Maio was amazing considering i was just coming in as a first time freshman, i wouldnt recommend taking her class at 8am unless you're a morning person but overall she is a very understanding person , she works with you and understands. I'd recommend taking this class if you were ready to sit down and learn. Two ways you could do her class: show up & pay attention to her lectures or not go at all & just learn straight from the book. I'd recommend showing up to class just because she lays everything out for you to make it easier. If you're not going to put effort in, it's pointless

This class is easy, especially if you go to class, tests are made from the lecture. Those who say she pulled the questions out of her ass werent focusing in class. Now, I was on her very good side but missed 1 exam and now I will get a C because the tests are worth 20% each. Avging a 95% on exams and gonna get a C. Let that sink in. Dont miss exams

She is honestly the most amazing professor out there. This class is difficult, but as long as you study you are fine. Show up to class, sit in the front, and pay attention. Those who say that she pulls test questions out of her butt are the lazy ones that don't pay attention. I always looked forward to going to lectures, never boring.

Professor De Maio is a straightforward professor. Outline clearly showcases when the tests will take place, and what chapters from the book they cover. I'd say don't miss more than 2 classes. While she doesn't take roll and she bases the tests off the textbook, still come to class to avoid all the fluff in the book and still get all the info.

She's a really good professor, makes her lectures interesting! It is based on two tests which is kind of stressful but no hw besides the reading. I didn't do the reading everytime, but I would skim over it to get the gist of the chapter and terms. Doesnt count attendance, but you should go because her lectures are more interesting than the book.

This class only consists of two tests. They are difficult as its timed. The class itself is all lecture and is quite interesting. The professor will call you out if caught on your phone or talking. Shes a really great professor who you should take. Dont let what Ive said previously discourage you. Just a heads up.

Grade is decided by one midterm and final. Required to read one chapter each week and is discussed in class. Exams are digital, so doing notes and study guides are recommended to pass. Nice woman, approachable, available for office hours. No complaints.

In class you need an instructor that has good and interesting lectures. That is what Professor De Maio does every class. Even though I have her at 8am I never get bored of her lectures. She raised my grade from an 88 to an A- and shes always there for her students. That is why I didnt not hesitate to sign up for one of her other class next sem!

Think I was supposed to buy a textbook, but didn't want to spend the money. It probably helps, there's exam questions on it, but you can do fine without it. She's truly the kindest professor I've had. She really knows her stuff too. Her office hours had a big group, which became mostly small group discussion, safe space for talking politics.

4 tests and 1 final. The lowest test gets dropped. It was 8 am and even tho I was barely awake she was very passionate about her class and loves to teach. She was also very understanding and did round up grades at the end.

Yes, it is an 8am but her energy is contagious. Your grade consists of 2 exams, and technically participation and attendance; however, she won't use these to bring your grade down, only up. She didn't require camera use. If you read the textbook and her lecture, you'll pass the exams. They are multiple choice with two written response questions.

I love Professor De Maio. Second Straight Semester having her at 8am. I could never ask for a better professor to have early in the morning. Her lectures are always interesting due to Her enthusiasm early in the morning. She is the most caring and understanding professor Ive ever had and she'll always be there for you.

This class was pretty fair professor only had a midterm and final as grades. The material was not that bad. There was a lot of reading but I would take this class again. Professor had a good amount of energy in the morning and had some great discussions during class. Highly recommend to take.

For an 8 am class it wasn't terrible. She is very educated and knows what she's talking about. Be prepared to read A LOT and if you miss class you will not pass. Your entire grade consists of just the midterm and the final so make sure you prepare and take notes. Tests are difficult and you will have to actually know the content to get a good grade

Prof. De Maio is awesome. She really loves the subject and you can tell by the way she lectures it. The one thing is that you absolutely cannot miss class because she does not upload any slides or lecture notes. She also doesn't do any review or put out a study guide before tests - so you kinda just have to guess what to study.

De Maio is very passionate about international relations and her lectures really shows that. Very knowledgeable in the field. If you are a poli sci major or just looking for something interesting she is your women. However, our grades was only based off 2 exams so you REALLY had to study for them. She made some questions lecture specific as well.
