This class should be a 5 unit class. She is very direct and clear in lecture and her tests come staight out of lecture notes. Lab is really hard. Studying for lab practicals is a must.
She is a great teacher. Exams come straight from lecture notes, very straight forward if you listen and study. Lab exams are hard. This class is a lot of studying. She tells you from the beginning that the class should be a 5 unit course. I agree.
hard classes, evil teacher.
hard class, a lot of studying, but warned you at the beginning, lecture is straight forward, lab is another story altogether.
Study and Memorize notes and you will do fine in lecture. Memorise hard on the lab too and you'll do good on practical.
Hard class. Unless you've had Phyan 64 or are really good at memorizing, I recommend taking it at City.
She was very vicious,i was.1% away from a B (79.999) and she gave me a C! She couldnt even raise it up to a B. If a teachers job is to help us succeed then she is total opposite, she wants to see u fail!!!!We need a new anatomy teacher.
I don't recommend taking this teacher. take it at city. for most this class will be an F. There are no tutors and for 3 units, this class is too much. it should be 5 units. teacher is very fast and lab covers excessive amounts of material.
lecture was easy as long as you study for it. But lab was hard, repeat hard. lab worth more then lecture

This ladys class is the cardest i have ever taken. I had never failed a class until taking PhyAn 65 with here.
64 take over the summer, its worth it. 65 is very difficult, least the lecture is (lab is pretty easy as long as you attend) if you can, find someone to give you copies of the notes from the previous semester or it will be difficult to follow along
Very hard class..not because the material is necessarily hard but she reads the notes and thats it.. what a teacher.. umm also the tests are unfair. Since when did you need options a-h to figure out if you know the material. She tries to trick you on the e
Hard as****
This class is crazy. She tries to trick you on test questions...nothing can really fully prepare you for her tests. I'm a freakin honor student and I got a D. Take it somewhere else unless it is going to be the only class you take that semester. Lab is
I have never studied so much in my life and still did not so good on her tests. She gives unfair questions and tries to trick you with her multiple choice. Professors should want you to do good in their classes, however she makes it impossible with her questions that mix people up. Definitely take this class at a city college, if you take it at state you will regret it. I got a 79.5 and she she gave me a C wouldn't give me .5 of a point.
Needs to retire or find a new field or something along the lines of that. Can't teach lectures or labs at all. SOrt of crazy and worries mostly about phisiolgy rahter than antomy.
Learn how to teach! a child who has learned to read can read your notes, try teaching something! god forbid you actually deveate from the notes to possibly expain what the hell you mean...

This lady is impossible.
Be prepaired to take the class more than once! Im pretty sure no one is satisfied with thier grade after the first time taking the class.
Could the woman have an higher opinion of herself
Really doesn't know what shes talking about
yeah she's hard. but she knows what she's doing. she's nice. get to know her. she wants people to know their stuff. doctors and nurses need to know this stuff. so if you take this class seriously. you'll know your stuff. so study. it's good for you.
Yeah shes hard. No doubt. But the material she has you learn, if mastered, prepares you for future endeavors. Im taking physiology in grad school this semester and having taking her class has helped a lot!
nice professor but class is too hard especailly lab. Too much information for a 3 unit class, lab is just stupid. Lab worth more than lecture. recommend somewhere else for students who haven't taken this class if you wants to pass the first time with a good grade.
Yes, this calss is hard but it really preparres you for other major classes. I mean if we want to go to medical school or into the nursing program we ought to get in A in this course. You really learn a lot and its not to hard if you know your stuff!!
She does not know the a thing about teaching. She is unreasonable. She expects you to learn physiology at the same time your taking anatomy. Teach one subject @ a time.Don't just read off notes like a robot, teach us something we're here to learn!Lab instructors are useless too!
This class was the hardest class i have ever taken. I studied for at least 8 hours a day and failed. Her tests are impossible. She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had!
She is REALLY Hard! She expects too much from you and almost enjoys seeing the students struggle with the class

Great teacher, gets bad ratings from many on here, and the reason is because the material is hard for some and they blame her for their failing. half the class never attends. if you attend every class and listen carefully you will understand and do well (65 isnt that hard, but phyan64 must memorize). I did this and got over 100% in both 64 & 65
She gets a VERY bad rap. Everyone whines and complains about how hard she is. Buck up and study. If you want an A, you actually have to EARN it in these classes. And yes, she will help you. All you have to do is go to her office. She is not that bad of a person she just want you to know you stuff.
Very strict and difficult. Not understanding at all.
The class is very hard you need to study. As for Debban I think she is a wonderful teacher...she is clear and seems always willing to help students. She also is always prompt in answering e-mail.
good teacher, hard class. study the notes verbatim..seriously. go to class and take good notes and you'll do well.
Straightforeward and helpful, but tons of memorization.
This class was a very difficult class but classes such as these are supposed to be hard if going into medical or health fields..Study take good notes....you should pass...No Excuses....
Saying she is difficult is an understatement. Her lectures are insane due to the amount of material covered and you have to practically memorize it for the tests. Going to lectures is a must and she is willing to help if you need it. The bottom line is that you do not have an incredible memory you should seriously consider taking phyan at city.

the class is VERY HARD and the professor is really strict but it IS possible to get a good grade in the class if you STUDY. you can't study for this class the night b4 like you can for a GE class. you have to actually put lots of time and effort if you want to do well.
this class is hard. Take it if U r serious & willing to work hard. Record every word that she says. GO TO EVERY LECTURE& MORE THAN 1 LAB IF POSSIBLE. TAKE HER AS YOUR LAB T.A. she is very helpful & a very nice professor. getting A is possible becuz extra credit is offered alot during the lab exams and the lecture exams. Work hard.
not an easy class but she is a very helpful teacher. study (memorize) your notes at least one week before the exam and youll get an A on the test. lab exams are easy and lots of extra credit are offered. always go to class and take very good notes!
Class is extremely difficult. I was very interested in Physiology, but after this class I changed my major. I studied more than I have ever studied before and it didn't help. She reads directly off of her powerpoints and then expects you to memorize the entire thing! I didn't learn anything because I was too busy trying to memorize stuff!
her lectures are presented in a way in which she only understands. Her exams seem like she whants to fail you, her exams are extremley hard.Never take anatomy or physiology w her!
So hard!!!!!!!!!
Debban is great teacher
She is a good teacher, and as long as you memorize the material and STUDY you should be fine.
Great teacher! the material is very difficult but she is ALWAYS willing to help! She really cares about every student... if going into medicine, learn to deal with the difficult course material! Debban makes you know your stuff! Great Prof!
Worst teacher at Fresno State!!! Do not take this class at State, take if at City. She reads verbatim from her notes, she does not teach, and her class is extremely boring. I passed, but more than half probably failed.
I would not recommend this professor to anyone trying to get into the nursing program at state. Her tests are tricky to say the least and most students who aced the course simply devoted their lives to the course for that semester. Please do yourself a favor and take the course at city.
Prof. Debban is a great teacher and the only people who think that she is impossible are the people who don't attend class. This class is very difficult but it is possible to get an A if you put your time and effort into this course.
She is useless. If you want to pass that class, memorize her notes, I mean truly memorize. She goes over the notes during class and don't show no interest in the students. The lecture tests are as trick as possible and the lab will be easy if you study. Who has background in Anatomy and Phys. will study hard and do well, the others...
Most difficult class you will ever take in your life where it is quite possible to earn an A. Requires approximately 10hrs of studying/week to receive 90%. If you don't have the notes before the class starts, you're screwed. Good luck!
ok here's the deal hear class is hard as **** but it is passible if you study hard all of her test and quiz is staight off her notes so if you have all the notes and can memorize it backward and forward you can easily get an A but if your not good at memorization then don't take this class.
Debban is a great professor, who unlike other professors is there to make sure people earn there A's in class. Everything is based off the notes. I am currently in Medical School and her class helped out tremendously.
Very difficult teacher. Class requires a lot of study time. This is not a class to go to while you are tired. Don't take this instructor if you do not have a basic or past basic understanding of physiology or anatomy - you will not pass.
Pretty bad teacher. Uses an overhead projector?! Reads her notes. The class isn't that difficult, just memorize the notes and you'll do fine. It's not challenging, it just takes a few hours a week to memorize everything. Why would you take it at city when you're already paying for Fresno State? She's terrible, but just suck it up and memorize.
Im sick of people complaining about this teacher. The people who complain DONT STUDY, and slack off and ANY class would be hard that way and then they just blame the teacher! The class does require alot of studying and rightfully so its PHYSIOLOGY and ANATOMY, which is pretty vital info for people who want to be DOCTORS, nurses, or pharmacists.
Lab is super easy and actually worth learning. Her lecture is the hardest. All you have to go off of is notes! tests are way hard and confusing. The final is comprehensive and bout 50 pages of notes typed to study.
Worst teacher I have ever had. The class is a 3 unit class...she turns it into a 5 unit class with the amount of work given. Lecture tests are based off her notes only...so if your good at memorizing notes, then you will be in good shape, otherwise avoide this teacher at all cost! The way the class is set up sucks and gives no room for mistake.
It's a tough class but I like that it helps eliminate the drones that want to be nurses but shouldn't. The need to cart themselves off to sub-adolescent land for their little degree (Community College).
Ok so all of you that complain about her not being a good teacher just means that you aren't trying hard enough to learn the material in class or maybe you just don't have what it takes for this field of study. This class is very hard yes and she tells you that the very first day of class. You have to devote much time to this class if u wanna pass
I don't really understand why people say her tests are hard. 100% of the test is 100% on the notes; and i mean EVERYTHING on the test is on the notes. Yes, that might mean you have to memorize the entire notes but you do what you have to do to pass. Material is NOT hard, hard part is little amount of time for so much info.
dont need the book. the material is easy and straightforward, theres just a lot of it. just memorize the notes and there are no trick questions. They are only tricky if you dont know the stuff.
You don't have to be a genius to pass this class and certainly not an "honors" student as well. It doesn't matter if you're an honors student or not or you can get straight A's, but if you don't have a good memory or you are bad at memorization, stay away from this class, you literally have to memorize everything to do good, you'll also learn ALOT!
This is the worst teacher on the planet, does everything possible to make sure students don't pass the class. Uses a stupid overhead, so you can barely see whats on the board, and uses all sorts of acronyms that no one knows what they are! Tries as hard as possible to trick students on test, aren't professors supposed to help you succeed?? NOT HER!
To the person that said that this class separates nurses from non nurses I hope a transfer from Fresno City takes your spot in the nursing program, you will fall flat on your face and then you'll end up going to city to try to get in,by the way I think you got a little something on your nose, you cant become a nurse by kissing up to people!!!
Everyone says her class is difficult when in reality, it is very easy if you just attend class and memorize her notes. I made flashcards for ALL of her notes (anatomy and physiology classes) and got an A in each.
In life, you make sacrifices. This class is one of them. In order to do good, you must study and keep up w/ the notes & memorize ALL of them. It is possible to get an A the first time and not have to retake it or take it at a community college because I got an A my first time. This class just takes a lot of dedication to get the grade you want.
I'm also sick of people complaining about this instructor. She's a really great teacher, she's always asking questions pertaining to the material during lectures so the info. is always fresh in your mind. Also everything on the tests are DIRECTLY from her notes. *Tip: get a copy of the notes from a student who took her the previous semster.
Is only a 3 unit class but it feels like 5. She is out to fail you. Her test are VERY tricky. If you want to pass you must devote your life to this class and no other.
God help anyone and everyone who has to have this teacher.
It is not impossible to get As in her classes. Try not to take them when you have a really full schedule. You don't even need the textbook. She wants you to understand what she teaches, so yea it's going to take some effort. Anatomy and Physiology aren't exactly simple. MEMORIZE AND UNDERSTAND YOUR NOTES.
Why don't you guys trying studying! You guys act this subject area is suppose to be easy. The reason you idiots think this class is hard is because you have to study the material inside and out and be able to APPLY it! Stop acting like she needs to feed you like a baby in this class. She is willing to answer any kinds of questions you have.
this class is really hard. attendance in lab is absolute. there is so much to memorize and just not enough time. The lecture tests are really fair! EVERYTHING is from her class notes...as long as you have the notes lecture attendance isnt mandatory. This class isnt impossible it is just hard! Teacher is totally fair...she just has a bad wrap for pe
Not an easy, but A's are definitely possible.Tests come straight from lecture, get notes from students who have already taken it.Study DAILY, its mostly a matter of memorizing, she gives you the information, its just up to you to apply yourself and learn it all.She is very helpful and great with answering questions.
Great teacher. She is very helpful. Thers is a lot of information but it is easy. If you know how to study you will be fine. Lecture tests are kinda difficult but lab is easy. Class isnt that hard if you dedicate yourself an A isnt that hard to achieve.
She is awesome! Very kind woman, go to her office hours and study lecture notes. Get studying!
Jennifer is a really nice and knowledgeable professor. However, her class is not for those who are looking for an easy A. As long as you memorize the lecture and the information for the labs you'll be fine. She gives A LOT of extra credit and I didn't even open the book.
Great professor, had her for both 64 & 65 Biol 65 was much harder though, much more than memorizing, it's also understanding and processing She is a kind women though, will help you if you ask her She wants her students to do well Study VERY hard, every chance you get Class is based on a pt system (every pt counts! So do well and get every pt u can
Their is nothing on the lab test that is surprising... she tells you exactly what will be on the lab test. As far as lectures, I found those the most challenging because the answers wont jump out to you, you have to actually KNOW the stuff. Memorize and learn the notes and everything she talks about in lecture. You actually learn stuff in this clas
I had physiology and if the material wasn't interesting it'd be a sucky class. She literally reads directly off her notes, so if you get a copy of them you don't even need to go to class, just know the notes. you dont even need the text book. TESTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD! its hard to get an A, you have to STUDY STUDY STUDY. you learn a lot though.
Do NOT, I repeat NOT take her for any class if you can avoid it. I was in a horrible car accident, failed the makeup exam the next day (when the doctor said I should take a week off) and the next semester she told everyone that car accidents were not an excuse. She also said I shouldn't even be going to college. Bad professor, & insults students.
Tests are directly from notes. You just need to learn how to memorize everything you see/read. She's EXTREMELY helpful; always willing to answer any question.
Tests are really hard and tricky, I knew the notes inside and out for the first exam and I got a 76%. She's happy if the class average is a 65% on tests. Ridiculous. Every point counts in this class. No curve. I would suggest trying to get 100% in lab to pass with an A or B in the class because the tests are so hard.
She's really smart, KNOWS exactly what she's talking about, BUT....she literally READS her notes! I feel that she shouldn't be a professor at all. :/ Instead, she should take her knowledge and make it worthwhile. Become a SURGEON, a REAL MEDICAL DOCTOR or something! Above all, this anatomy class is not worth 3 units! It needs to be changed to 5!
Debban knows her stuff. She expects a lot from her students. If you don't understand something go to her office hours. All her lecture tests are based off her notes. If you've never taken anatomy before, you NEED the book to understand her notes.
Very knowledgeable, however def. one of the hardest class Ive ever been in. Fail rate is relativity on the high side. Although students who allow enough study time each day for this class should be able to pass. Advise(Get a voice recorder & >>study regularly<<) Not happy with professor I chose. If your in the class have fun..
I am so tired of people complaining about how much work this class is. If you have to take physio, you're probably going to be a health professional, so it's kind of important. Yes, there's a lot of material, but she's totally fair. Study a lot and you'll be fine.
Debban is like a robot. She reads her notes(the same ones shes had for 5+years),so if you already have the notes from someone theres no need to listen to her read them. Tests come from the smallest details from the notes. Memorize the notes-word for word&ALL of them-and you will do well. Tests are tricky, many all of the aboves/none of the above.
She doesn't know anything more than what is written in her notes. If you ask her a question about something more than what's in her notes she has to look it up. Not very knowledgeable at all.
Tough class for non-biol majors. Must be able to MEMORIZE (not learn) about 20-30 typed pages of notes for each exam. She tests straight from her notes that shes had forever. Tests are purposely designed to force you to memorize exactly how she read notes in class.
really hard class all you have to do is memorize and is not the easy kind of memorization that we all known of, this is out of the world stuff and she expects you to know every single detail. do not risk taking this class even if you are a health major
This is a hard class. If you memorize everything in lecture then you will do fine. You will spend allot of time memorizing, so take easy classes along with this class. Lab is the hardest for the exams is not done by test but by stations and you have to memorize everything. The muscle exam is the hardest and most stressful of them all. Memorize!!!!!
ALL I CAN SAY IS STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, NO SOCIAL LIFE, STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS, READ QUESTIONS ON EXAMS CAREFULLY TO GET THE ANSWERS RIGHT!
Taking this class ATM. A lot of wrk and memorization. Her notes ARE the class so you can get old ones. (NOTE:she has changed some order, added things and deleted)You still need to attend class so they make sense (at least for me) clear, concise, nice, helpful in office hrs. I am taking this class with 2 other science classes and still doing decent.
This was a very tough class but as long as you are prepared to study and READ, you should be able to perform well. I liked the instructor and enjoyed the rigor of the class.
Go to class Go to Lab and study study study!!!=A
Prof Debban is great! A LOT of memorizing but everything is in her lectures, didnt pick up my book once. Got an A+, you can do it!
In order to do well, you have to make this class your life. Just STUDY alot cause the exams are that ridiculously detailed.God Bless anyone who has to take this....
Single most important thing in this class is memorization! Memorize everything repeatedly. My lab partner didn't understand ANYTHING in the class, he just MEMORIZED and got an A. this class is very easy because you know exactly what will be on the exams, so just study the notes from lecture and be able to ID stuff for lab exams and u'll do fine.
I would recommend studying in advance. Start studying the day you got the notes or at least at the end of every week look at the notes.
She's very clear on what is expected in the class. Great teacher. Very fair. If you study for the tests you won't have to take the final. Overall great quality and lots of extra credit available on the tests.
Professor Debban is not an easy professor but the class is not rocket science. You indeed must study for this class. I am taking 16 units this semester and I am still pulling off an A. Study hard, go to lecture, and to lab=you will do fine. Professor Debban knows her stuff and you will learn alot in this class. I highly recommend her.
Your grade will be a reflection of the effort you put into studying. Materials required deep understanding and memorization. So pace yourself accordingly and study every night. My advice is for you to ace all your lecture and labs exam so you wont have to take the final. Final is comprehension and very hard! Cons: no studyguide for lecture exams.
You spend so much time MEMORIZING you forgot to learn the intense material. Many people pass the class w/good grades through memorization, but what do those students learn? Majority of those students...nothing. In the REAL WORLD, you DO NOT memorize. You have to KNOW IT & in order to KNOW it is to LEARN IT. Debban needs to be a REAL MEDICAL DOCTOR.
VERY HARD!!!! Study as much as you can. It would be wise to use a recorder because she says things that aren't in her lecture notes.
I'm in anat and phys this semester(both with Debban). Anat is SUPER easy.Phys however requires lots of studying. What people don't seem to understand however is that Biol 65 is supposed to be HARD!It's NOT an easy class but that's not Debban's fault.People need to stop complaining and just study if they want a good grade. If not, change your major.
Class requires A LOT of time and efforts. DO NOT TAKE IT IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT IT! Every point counts, so try to get all of them before the final. Supplement Instruction & tutoring is available, so seek that out if necessary. You don't really need to read the textbook for the exams.
class is extremely hard!!! your grade will definitely reflect how much time and effort you put in the class. do not take if you do not have to!!! the class should definitely be worth more than three units!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR ...STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. It makes no sense why other professors tell you take this class from another school when we pay so much money. Or does it ? JUST STAY AWAY SHE HAS NO HART !!
Of course this class is difficult if you do not study. Do not expect a cake walk like all the other GE courses you are taking. Was hoping she teach bio65 but heard she left the school. I guess that is good for everyone. But just study and put time into the class and you will do fine.
Those of you that complain about Debban's classes being difficult are dense. The questions & answers on the exams are taken verbatim from her lecture notes. You don't even need the book to get an A. If you can't recognize the lecture notes in the exam questions, maybe college isn't for you. She's a relatively easy A, and PhyAn is interesting.
She would fly through her lecture to let us out early (not really a complaint- IF I UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL)... I asked her to stay after with me to explain some of the material, and I was told "I'm not a personal study partner"! Well, I pay to be In class until 10, & u let me out at 8:30, but You won't explain when I'm asking for help! horrible
