Intro 2 Multicurtural Literature was 1 of those classes I was concerned about but Ms.Decker was a great teacher. Watched many different movies about diverse cultures, which made the class very interesting. The readings were about things many could relate 2. Attend class (on time) and turn in assignments (on time) and you should do fine.

the teacher is extremely helpfull as well as a good guide for ENGL 1302. The course was a glimps for a summer five week session, yet the work for this course was all accordingly to the course, the class is smooth sailing if a student knows what they are doing.

MS. Decker is a nice professor. Her class is easy and useful. Her quizzes are not hard and the readings are not hard at all. If its a good class, she will let the class out early everyday. I got an A, in the summer of 09, and Im thankful I took her class.

She is very easy just read ur passages there will be quizzes over the like 5 questions and 4 essays throught the semester...Easy A oh and always close her door.

A lot of writing but its equally balanced with watching movies. Ms Decker is easy enough she doesn't like late arrivals so be on time. Quizzes and Essays are very easy.

Extremely easy class. The readings need an overhaul as I had way more interesting ones in 1301.Class consists of essays, quizzes that aren't really quizzes, and 2 movies(only good thing about the class).Very low enery teacher.I feel like I came out at the same level I came into the class with.

One of the best professor I have taken at HCC. She understands that we have other classes. She doesnt overload you with work. Show up to class and complete all assignments and essays and you will do great. English is not one of my favorite subjects,but PRofessor Decker makes it interesting. You have to write very short essays. Read passages off of the book. Very easy going. Doesn't bother much. Would take her again with no doubt!

Took her for 1301 and 1302, and 2343. Pretty chill person, short essays, and great movies! The quizzes were easy if you read the selections. She's loves theatre and for her 2343 you will most likely need to watch a play, and she'll give you discounts for her productions.

The best word to describe her is AMAZING! 2 short essays and a research paper, but very simple. Textbook not required, but does have a few links to articles you need to read. Usually a short quiz next class about the article. Easy going, doesn't overload you with work. She does not like people being late! So be on time, listen, & you're good to go!

I took Prof. Decker for ENGL 1302 regular term. NO BOOK REQUIRED, she provides necessary reading material. This is an easy A!!! Participate with class discussions, two papers, and a research paper which is your final. She's an easy grader.

She's pretty chill , just come to class on time and participate (she makes it easy) ,write a few papers ,watch a couple movies and Bam you've got an A.

I took Ms Deckers class right after the storms which pushed classes back 2 wks. We had 3 writing assignment which normally you would have 4. She gives you easy reading assignments, the following class period you will have a quiz. If you just do the quiz you will get an eazy 100. If you show up to class you will get 100. She also gives extra creit.

This class was so insanely easy! All you have to do is read the assigned article, show up to class to take the quiz (which is super easy if you read) and listen to the lecture. We literally were graded for attendance and we wrote 3 major essays. Mrs. Decker tries her very best to give every opportunity for you to make the best grade possible. I would say that all you need to do is consider the feedback she gives on your essays to continuously improve and participate in class discussions. She's an amazing instructor!

She sent emails every week saying what was due and she was very involved through the whole class. Your three essays were the majority of your grade and there were daily assignments, but they only took 5-15 minutes at most. Very easy A+ if you just do the assignments given, seemed to be a very fair and easy grader.

Prof. Decker is a solid choice. She usually gives a free 100 the days activity simply for showing up to class. She's willing to extend due dates, just communicate with her. Honestly just turn something in, if you somehow manage to fail this class that is on you. Always gives great feedback and is always accessible via email.

If you're looking for an English professor, this is the one to go with. Essays are due within a fair time span and gives you feedback on the rough drafts. Assignments are also easy and they are little each week. There's no final besides the last essay being the last major grade.

It wouldn't let me select class - I took 2341. Prof Decker was very responsive, sent lots of reminders so you definitely wouldn't forget an assignment was approaching due date. I feel her assignments were easy if you read/watched the plays. I also like that the assignments are all made available at once, so you can skip ahead if you want.

I took professor Decker for 1301 and 1302, and could not recommend her more. She's a very easy grader. As long as you turn in all your papers and attend class, you should get a B minimum. Most people who fail don't turn in papers.

Mrs. Decker was a very nice teacher. She is one of the few that care for her students. She is very clear on what she expects. We had 3 papers and a few assignments. You do have to participate. I would recommend her to anyone.

I took her for her Spring 2023 class, she is the BEST American Literature Professor by far. It is the easiest A you could get, just come to class and you don't even have to participate just sit there on your phone and you get 100 for the day. The one thing I would advise is the one big essay, PLEASE get it done it is worth 60%

I took her for the Winter Semester 2023. She is one of the best professors out there, and even though I took the winter classes I thought it'd be hard but it was easy I can tell you the work was easy Only 2 Essays One was worth 30% Research Essay 40% and in class activies such as (discussions were worth) 30%. This class gave me no stress. take her!

Essays are 70% of the overall grade but she is a very easy grader if you follow her criteria, which are very simple ( clear thesis, organization, mechanics, etc ). Her assignments and readings are very interesting and makeup 30% of your overall grade. She also offers extra credit if you do the EGLS3 survey.

Gives very clear grading criteria/rubric. Reviews everything you may need for your essays in class. Attendance mandatory, participation is not but very good discussions in class as far as topics, assigned readings, documentaries, current events, etc

The rating speaks for itself, so I don't really have much more to add. She sends several reminders when assignments are due. She grades very quickly. Not heavy on homework. Only 1 major essay, 4 page minimum. Very interesting readings. My only critique is that I wish she provided more feedback. Otherwise, I 100% recommend this professor.

Her class is easy. You will have to read a few poems, articles, and other pieces of writing to complete her assignments, but some are short and some you have read or are at least familiar with them since most of the readings are iconic such as the "Tell Tale Heart."

She can be a bit passive aggressive at times, so if you notice anything wrong with an assignment do tell her. There are about 4 essays for the course, and reading is expected because it is an English course.
