She is very nice and helpful, however I think that she made the class too easy so when I got to calculus I had a big disadvantage. If your going to take this class be sure to learn ALL trig functions because you don't get a card of notes for tests later.

I took her class about a year ago. She explained things a few different ways, so you could understand it. She allowed our class to use 3x5 note cards on exams. By the way guys, she is a knockout!!!

This is the teacher you want if it meets your schedule. I am changing my schedule this fall just so I can take her class again for Math 90. She is very clear in her speaking and very fair in her teaching. I would recommend Jennifer Denney for anyone who thought math was a difficult subject. She makes math understandable. I now like algebra because of her teaching technique. It all makes perfect sense. She is aware how math can be a challenge but she is on your side to make sure you understand this subject.

She may go over things quick but if you do you homework and tutoring after class this class will be a piece of cake. She is a great teacher. Extremly helpful and suprising kind and funny considering she has to deal with a lot of frustrated math students. I would recommend this class shes awesome!

She is a great teacher. When I came to class the first day she said this course is about word problems, and I do not do word problems, however she explains them so well and assigns verry little HW. I was really scared about taking a class based on probelm solving because prior to her class I was horrible at it. However, she is a great teacher who is willing to help as much as she can. She offers so much extra credit that even if you don't do well you can still pass the class. The tests are the homework problems. She is a wonderful teacher.

This was my 2nd semester taking Jennifer. She was just as helpful and loving as before. She even inspired me to change my minor to math. With her encouragement I passed the class. Probably the coolest/friendliest math professor i've ever had. The only drawback was that I only had her class on Friday's so we had to cover a lot of material in just one session. Overall, the tests were fair, questions came directly from the homework assignments. She talks REALLY fast, but she always answered questions if you had any.

Real chill "Mom". Don't take her class if you're an unfriendly, or shy person - almost every class requires group activity work. Lots of opportunities for bonus points, but they can take a lot of time since they're due by the next class meeting. Tests are homework and group activities, so if you don't do it, and can't work with others...bad grade!

I had never taken algebra at all before this class. Not even in high school. I thought I was gonna HATE it. Boy how wrong I was. I absolutely loved it! Mrs. Denney made it so fun. She had definitely saved my bacon during the Summer accelerated course for Math 103. The way she defined things for me was better than any other teacher on the campus. I put in the best effort, and with her help, I got an A in the class. She is definitely worth taking!

She really knows her stuff and wants you to know it also. Willing to bend over backwards to help you but you need to pay attention, come to every class, be on time (getting there early highly recommended) and do not talk or be disruptive in class. She has no problem calling you out! Be prepared to do your homework and dedicate time to taking notes.

I had Professor Denney while doing the Math Academy program. Denney calls the program her "baby". She knows her stuff and clearly shows steps to get to the answer. This is an instructor, not a counselor. If you want to talk to someone about "alternatives to the class," see a counselor. She drops anyone who misses more than the number of hours the class meets per week, because that is the college requirement. She has no tolerance for whiners or people with a negative attitude. And... don't be late.

Math itself is a hard subject. but professor Denny makes it fun and easy to understand. attendance is maditory but textbook is optional because she gives u the opportunity to take pics from her text book she makes math really simple and easy to understand. definitely recommend her if you are someone that struggles with math.

Grades are based on tests, pop quizzes, and take home tests. Homework is optional. Textbook not required because she let us take photos of hers. She does a review before every test and gives study guides (review it!!!). I went from retaking alg2 in highschool twice to being an A student in her class. This professor was the best math teacher I have ever had. I took stats 3 semesters ago and got a D because the teacher was so terrible. This semester I finished this class with an A. The tests are pretty easy, don't really need the textbook, no homework, and the nicest teacher ever. I 10/10 recommend taking her especially if you struggle in math.

3 tests and a cumulative final. All hw is optional. SHOW UP TO CLASS, its worth it. She rewards hard workers, youll see. Don't be intimidated on the first day (she goes raving mad), her class is actually pretty easy. She wants you to succeed, and because of her I did. I took Statistics with Denney and she was amazing. She is passionate and cares about her students. Be prepared to talk to your peers. She explains the material very well and considers the fact that we are taking other classes, which takes the load off. I loved her class and would take her again.

Amazing. Math is NOT my strong point AT ALL but Prof. Denney made it SO easy and FUN?!? Im very shy but this class really helped me out of my comfort zone. We had to switch online halfway through because of the pandemic and Prof. Denney made it so painless and stress free. Best advice- TAKE THIS CLASS! You wont regret it! Denney is amazing!!

A really good teacher. My class was self taught and we barely really met on zoom. She is super nice and does not give out a lot of work, maybe one to two assignments a week. Quizzes are super easy and based off of the given worksheets, the only negative is that she gives no wiggle room for any late work but its whatever, plenty of time is given.

As someone who really struggles with math, this is the easiest math class I have ever taken in my life. I was so intimated by stats, and ended up with an A! The exams are easy if you do the homework, they come directly from there. Never did I feel underprepared or blindsided. Highly recommend this course

I cannot stress this enough - if you are intimidated by Stats, take this professor! She makes the concepts so easy and understandable, all quizzes come directly from assignments, and all tests come directly from quizzes. I promise this class is a breeze. Plus tests and quizzes are open note (even the final) ;)

Ms. Denney is caring and her class is easy as long as you don't fall behind. She's very clear on what she expects from her students from day one. Weekly readings and videos which are not heavy at all, quizzes every couple of weeks and gives tons of extra credit opportunities. Final is based on the semester's quizzes. Great teacher and funny too.

Scared of math? Take this course. Made the content accessible by showing the most relevant parts and then quizzed us on that. Her course just makes sense with how straightforward the workload is! Other instructors need to take a page from her book and simplify their content. Makes it easier to learn. Made me genuinely excited about math!

I was actually in MATH 175. Shes a great professor and made everything easy and accessible. She would show us videos and then give us worksheets to work on while the info was still fresh. She also encouraged us to work with partners/groups on certain assignments. Very attendance mandatory. Very sweet. Very understanding of personal circumstances.

Professor Denney, is great teacher her tactics are great for auditory and visual learners. A lot of what you learn in class will be in the test and she tells you what to pay attention to and what will be on a test. I wasn't good at math in high school but I'm passing her class with an 100% today.She also gives you tons of chances for extra credit

Professor Denney's MATH160 class is a great option for those intimidated by stats. Her clear explanations and focus on quizzes/tests over the material make it a manageable course. Unstuck ai was a helpful supplement for study prep.
