Professor Dilley uses powerpoint slides, but she doesn't put them up on the internet. If you attend class you get an A. All of her test come straight from her powerpoints and lecture which rocks. (aka don't get the book) Plus she usually gives one extra credit assignment. She teaches and IDS course too and you should take her to boost your GPA!
Great professor! If you show up to class you till get an A. Has quizes often that are basically there to boost your grade up if you go to class. 2 essays that if you prove your point get a good grade. Powerpoint slides for notes which is exactly where everything to her test is from! take this teacher if you can!!!
Professor Dilley is by far my favorite professor! The powerpoints she uses are so easy to understand and if you have any questions at all, you can ask without being afraid she will make you feel dumb for asking and she will answer it and make it perfectly clear to understand. If you come to class you should have no problem getting an A or high B
She is the best History teacher ever!! Super sweet! Learning is a breeze!! Very interesting! Tests are simple! She gives a review sheet and if you come to class and atleast try a lil you'll do GREAT! I made an A!!GPA booster!! Im takin her again! All you do is read a couple books (2)..easy paper..easy quizzes and yah PERFECTO!
Ms. Dilley was a great history taeacher and she was very passionate about what she taught. Easy to understand. She had us read 3 outside books as well as the US Hist book. Coming of the Age of Missippi was my favorite book she assigned. 3 one paged essays for each book. Mandatory to read all chapters before the each test. Multiple choice test.
The Best teacher I have ever had. Lectures are interesting! 3 TESTS and a final 2 short essays. I've taken 4 of her classes even UD and got an A. She's very clear and gives you a review and lecture slides posted. You should take her!
Great teacher! Easy A or B
Prof Dilley is truly awesome. I HIGHLY recommend her. Keeps the conversation and lectures interesting and she is totally entertaining without trying to be! Knows her stuff, too! Make sure you do the readings and study her Powerpoint guides and youll do fine. TAKE HER!
She's an amazing professor, and the weekly quizes are simple. The two books are easy reads where you write a 2-3 pg paper on your opinion of a general question she has on the book. Oh and she's very easy on the eyes.
Would recommend her. Super nice, keeps class interesting, and relatively easy. Don't need textbook if you don't go to class but there are 2 reading assignments so you need to buy those books. Should get textbook if you don't go to class but you will want to go. Exams are written for HIS2553 but she teaches reg Hist too which is multi. choice exams
Exceptional professor! Weekly quizes are simple and mainly used to gauge attendence. The main text book was rarely used but two others are need for 2-3 page essays. Fair grader. Exams included multiple choice plus several short essay questions. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend!
One of the best, sweetest teachers I've ever had! Would HIGHLY recommend her.
I love professor Dilley, I'm going to try to take her again!!!:D
I liked professor Dilley, however she is not as easy as I thought she would be from her rating on here. Her rating for easiness should be average.
She's very excited about teaching what she loves, and that shows, she's very clear in what she expects from you, and her tests follow her lectures perfectly. If too many people skip her class she does get angry about it, so make sure to go.
awesome teacher!! just show up and take the random quizes, read the 2 books she assigns and show up for her group quizes and you will surely get a B. if you want to get an A just make a decent grade on tests. EASY CLASSS!!!
Fantastic! I loved her class, it was easy if you take good notes and study them. Hardly used the book. Put effort into your papers and you will get a high grade. I got an A. Her tests are straight from her lectures. Go to class and take the quizzes, sometimes she hints when they are. Take her!!!
I love Mrs.Dilley! She was so awesome, funny, and nice. She always came in with a smile and just wanted happy students. She was helpful and knows history really well. Her tests are just like her lecture and she doesn't have you memorize specific dates or places, just big ideas. There was a bit of reading to do but I loved it! Take her class!
I came into this class thinking it was going to be super boring, because it's history! But Professor Dilley changed my mind quick about this. She was SO sweet and very concerned with the well-being of her students. Very clear in homework and class expectations. She made history very interesting and easy to learn. Take her!! GREAT PROFESSOR!
she is amazing
Only reason I didn't score her with a 5 on easiness is because (not sure if she does this every semester) when she gets behind on her lectures, she goes extremely fast and it's hard to take quality notes AND pay attention to what she's saying. And since her lectures are 99% of the tests, it's frustrating. But otherwise, excellent professor!!
THIS TEACHER IS GOOD IF YOU WANNA FAIL. Her grading system is bad. She only has 3 exams INCLUDING the final. All exams are based on lectures and does not use the textbook. So if you miss class your screwed.
She is an awesome teacher! Grading is pretty simple, 3 exams, one is the final, 2 reading quizes and she gives you the questions weeks before the quiz!! pretty hott teacher and keeps you entertained. Only bad thing is when she falls behind she goes very fast to catch up and you miss half of what she is saying. Overall, best professor for history!
Awesome professor! She made what we learned very interesting and I had no problem at all paying attention. Her tests are easy as long as you show up and make an effort to listen, and there is hardly any reading! Overall, I DEFINITELY recommend her
Prof. Dilley class is so interesting. You will definitely love history after taking her class. You'll have 2 reading quizzes to do. She does give study guides for those quizzes. 3 tests(1 of them is the final exam). 12 weekly note card which are easy points to get.Just come to class and pay attention you will be fine. Take her class, you'll love it
THE EASIEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN. If you show up for class you will get a 100. If you take any other class besides Professor Dilley's class then you should quit college because you cannot make good decisions.
AMAZING TEACHER. class is all about surviving college as a freshamn, just give your opionion and you will get an easy A. dont be rude and be on time
Professor Dilley makes every lecture fun and understanding. Make sure you attend class, because sometimes she gives extra credit to those who are in class. She is helpful and doesn't mind answering questions before or after class. i had many personal problems this class and she was very understanding. GREAT PROFESSOR!!
Easy as long as you study the study guides and attend class cause she uses the iclicker every class for a 20% grade at the end of the semester
I made an A- by 1) attending class to take notes & do the notecard quizzes (like 2 questions) 2) doing ok on the tests (no desire to study) 3) she offered extra credit if you go watch this feminist video & say iloveit, ihatedit. She smacks her gum which is annoying but she's cool. If you don't make an A well..... its not her fault. Take her!
Depended on Powerpoints.
I had Professor Dilley for East Asian Civ. She's a good professor: very knowledgeable of the subject and shows a strong interest. She's helpful and friendly. The class wasn't hard, just take good notes for the tests b/c they are on bluebook.
She grades worse than the strictest English professor on minor grammatical points. The worst part? She's wrong most of the time. There are tons of typos in her powerpoints and quiz notes. Deductions for past and present tense on the same reference. Does UTSA monitor this? I've seen negative comments for her flat removed. Don't take her class.
She was a great teacher! This is an easy A class if you show up to class and take notes on her power-points. The person below me who gave her a bad review was in my class and was never there, what an idiot. You do not need the book because she tells a story on history, not just boring facts and dates. I highly recommend her.
I really didn't care for this professor/class. She's nice & easy to talk to but I found the lectures to be boring and powerpoints were vague. It is important to go to class b/c the powerpoints will make NO sense unless you do. Somewhat unorganized. The tests are pretty easy as well as the assignments but I HATE doing groupwork.
She makes helpful comparisons and wants you to understand history, not just memorize dates. GOOO to class (helps the most), take thorough notes, bring iclicker everyday and pay attention. Lectures aren't boring at all considering I previously hated history classes.
Professor Dilley is awesome. She is helpful and very kind. I had her for Learning Communities and now I am going to take her for history. she said to come to class pay attention and you'll get an A. Get to know her, you wont regret it!
professor dilley is extremely nice. this class is the easiest class ever, can't believe you get college credit. the hardest part about this class is going because you know you're not going to do anything, but attendance is mandatory. Definitely recommend her and this class!!
Dilley is awesome I've taken her twice already and she's pretty thorough in her teaching ways. I didn't really have to read unless I missed classed and she almost follows it exactly... almost. All tests were open ended questions and there are two essays (not long). Overall if I could I would take here a billion times, she's lively and interesting.
Prof. Dilley is such a sweetheart! She is extremely understanding and very helpful. Classes were interesting and easy to follow. She drops the lowest test grade AND gives an Extra Credit assignment. As long as attend class, take notes, and bring your iClicker then you should have NO PROBLEM passing. I highly recommend her!!
Prof. Dilley is a good history teacher. TAKE NOTES OVER EVERYTHING SHE SAYS. ATTEND CLASS. Read the novels she assigns, study and you'll do fine.
Easy class if you attend and take notes. Her test are based off of her lectures. She is lively and energetic, so class isn't that boring. Bring your iclicker.
Great Teacher the only thing I can complain about is that she take long to post grades
Very upbeat and helpful. Expectations are very clear and presented upfront. Eager to answer questions. Good coverage of material. Unbiased and doesn't use opinion. Overall great professor. Tests are based on what she teaches in class. Reasonable across the board. Easy to talk to.
I LOVE HER. She is easy to listen too. Don't even bother getting the textbook you won't need it. It is very crucial to go to her lectures B/C that's how you'll make an A. I made a high A on all tests and hundred on all quizzes. She is understanding. Take her for all history's you can.
I do not find Dilley to be an exceptional, or even good professor. She writes her own exams, and I think they're all written very poorly. They are very unclear and confusing. Not to mention, she forces you to participate in group "PSA's" where you may be forced to work with dumb people and share the same grade. Do not recommend her.
Professor Dilley is really happy all the time and is funny! She is really easy to understand and she is really helpful! She does do a lot of group work but the class is fun and I would definitely recommend her! Also you do not need a text book just 2 books that are actual stories.
A coffee enthusiast who shows off her lecture on PowerPoint as she loads up her comments for us students to use for her test. She might not help out of course in front of her class, but she shows her determination of helping us pass as best as we can achieve it.
Awesome professor. I would recommend her. Dilley is a good lecturer and nice person. The only negative is she is kind of not clear about a few things that are on exams, but self studying helps with this. Her class is pretty easy.
I love her! She is so funny & she's a great story teller and you need to take notes on what SHE says not what's on the powerpoint you can downloud it off blackboard! duh. Go to CLASSS!! Take good notes and make a good study guide and you can make and A -B, & the only books you need are for the quizzes and PSA questions. overall great class!
I highly disliked history prior to this class. But Professor Dilley really changed my opinion on that! She does a great job at explaining material and actually teaching it to students! Attend class for clicker points, study reviews, tests based on her lectures! Easy A.
Like many others say, I hated history coming into her class and left loving it. She made it about the story more than pointless memorization. For the honors class, all of her tests were essay questions rather than multiple choice. This really worked for me, but I know others struggled with it. I highly recommend her!
I love history and I really enjoyed Professor Dilley's class. She's an easy A if you go to class. I'm naturally good at history so I didn't read the textbook because everything that was on the exams she covered in class. I would definitely recommend her as a professor.
I liked her lectures and teaching styles but not personally. She isn't really fair to all students.
Just another easy history professor. Attendance isn't "mandatory", but she does iClicker questions for a grade. Tests are easy, multiple choice with only 3 choices. I only got a C from not going to class when I should, everything is lecture based so go to class and you're golden
This was my second semester taking Professor Dilley and I really like her. She is very helpful and makes class interesting. Easy A if you go to class! Do not buy the textbook because you won't use it!
Super sweet teacher! Has a passion for history, especially China. Make sure you show up for class, take notes and STUDY. You'll do fine if you do al of these things!
Professor Dilley, is an amazing teacher of history. Her lectures are very detailed and easy to understand. If you do you reading and research its an easy A. only thing to prep for is her iclicker quiz's. these things are daily!
Very interesting professor, best HIS professor at UTSA.
Homework every week but it is easy and you can get ahead if you do them early. Test are just from the notes if you go to class you will get a good grade on the test. Have to read two small novels but that is the only hard part of class. connects with students and interesting lectures.
Getting less than an A in this class is almost impossible. Dilley is so funny, and she knows so much about history. Her homework takes about 20 minutes and it is only once a week. It is an automatic 100 completion grade. This class is a totally fun GPA booster. Plus, she is SO NICE! Go see her in her office hours- she is always willing to help you.
She is very friendly and sweet. Her tests are over what she lectures and not the book. Online homework is super easy, only once a week but it is long (about an hour or so). She has daily attendance iclicker questions. She loves what she teaches and wants everyone to pass her class. Super helpful
Professor Dilley is a very good teacher i just came into this class thinking i could skip and still get an A which was not happening with the i clickers and stuff. But still got Bs and As on test even though i was rarely in class if i could do it over i would have actually gone to class and got an A but in stead got a B. would reccomend her
Professor Dilley is such a wonderful history professor. She knows history so well and makes history so fun and interesting to learn. All you have to do is bring your iclicker to class every day, instead of writing the PowerPoint notes, write down what she's say then while studying add the PowerPoint notes, read two novels and two PSA which are easy
Professor Dilley is an incredibly fun and easy professor. Tests are very clear and easy if you show up to the lectures. If not, they don't really go too deep into the material so you should be alright. She does give iclicker quizzes that count as a small part of your final. Homework is easy and she'll give bonus points if you do all of them.
Professor Dilley is a wonderful professor. She's incredibly helpful and is always willing to listen if you have any issues. Her lectures are interesting and she's really funny. I wish I could take her every semester. What a beautiful woman!
Amazing professor! Tests are lecture-based, so I suggest you shouldn't miss class, but she makes the class interesting!
Her lectures were very interesting. Need to really understand history, do not focus on memorizing exact date and detailed events.
Professor Dilley is awesome. Her lectures are really all you need to do well. I would say you don't need the book, but you do need it for the online key for a few assignments. All in all, very easy to get an A in this class as long as you try.
She is awesome, I've taken her 2 semesters in a row now (each a different class). She is very funny and brings energy to the class even on Mondays, when she knows everyone doesn't want to be there. Lectures are interesting and easy to stay awake in, unlike other history geared courses. You will be reading some but after all, you're in college.
she is the best professor I've ever taken! I'm a Biology major, so I had no interest in the class, but while taking her class I loved history. Yes you must read, but she is so interesting.
Professor Dilley was one of the best history teachers I've ever had. She is very intelligent, but not in your face about it like more professors are. She really cares about her students, and is approachable. Tests are literally the study guide she gives out a week or so prior, so there it no exception to not getting A's. You do need to study though
Her tests are exactly like the study guide and she uploads the slides, but you have to go to class to guarantee a good grade. Otherwise, a really straightforward course. Also, she's really understanding if you come to her during office hours or email her.
Her test utilize IDs and are half multiple choice and half short essay. She gives great reviews and makes even the most boring aspects of history interesting. I would've taken her follow up class if it was offered this semester. Attendance isn't mandatory but don't expect to get a good grade if you don't attend. Her lectures are whats on the test.
Dilley is your average professor, she does make the content very interesting and does add videos sometimes. All of her tests are based off of her lectures so attendance is mandatory. She also makes her own tests and the last half are open-ended. She will give you one person or place and you need to write 5 facts along with 20 multiple choice.
Mrs. Dilley makes history a bit more interesting, but her lectures are long in comparison to what she asks for on tests which are usually essays. It was difficult to go back and review notes to try and find information that would specifically apply to the questions she was asking.
Prof. Dilley is awesome! She has great enthusiasm for history and it keeps you engaged and makes her lectures go by quickly. She provides the powerpoints on blackboard, so it is easy to follow along with her.
I took this course to satisfy one of my basic core courses. Do not miss class nor walk out early because she will call you out. She is a wonderful teacher and is very enthusiastic, but do not take her if you are just wanting a easy, not so time consuming, course. The work is very tedious. Expect PSA Readings, Homework online, and IClickers.
Dilley is really nice, outgoing, and a good teacher all around (pretty hot too). The class itself is a bit boring, but easy and usually common sense. However, iClicker is a big portion of your grade but she makes up for it by offering extra credit if you show her your notes during office hours. She does give a bit of online homework too, easy tho
Overall I felt she was a good teacher. 4 tests (including the final) are only worth 15% each and she drops one. So basically if you do well on the first 3 tests, the last month of class you need to get you attendance grade and you're good. Tests are not much like the review though so do not just study the review! They are a little challenging.
Great history professor! Although her tests are very hard she really does a great job with her lectures and she gives extra credit! You have to show up for iclicker points and she gives 4 "PSA" assignments which suck, but her class is fun and she is really helpful if you go to office hours.
History Civil war to Present: my test average was about a 75 and I got an A-. Do all homework, in class questions, and take good notes and youll pass. She gives a review for each test! So many extra credit opportunities. I didnt even buy the book just took notes. isnt needed in my opinion. dont waste your $. This class is nothing to stress about
Professor Dilley is the best history professor at UTSA. I enjoyed her class very much, and history is not my favorite subject. Prof Dilley is very resourceful it is hard not to pass her class. Definitely recommend!
One of the best professors I had this semester. She is as straightforward as you can get. Usually gives homework once a week and has a total of 4 exams (including final). If you pay attention during her lectures she will say the answers to most of the test. Also she covers a lot in short time so missing a class will put you behind.
Prof. Dilley is amazing! The material is not very difficult to begin with, however her assistance makes it an enjoyable experience. She's very straightforward, has HW every week, and 4 tests (no cumulative final). She's incredibly helpful if you need her assistance or are concerned with a grade. Go to her office hours!
Professor Dilley makes History. She has good delivery of the material she presents.
Dilley is a great professor! You must go to class if you want to get an "A" or at least pass. Take good notes! Excellent note taking will help you on the tests. Her tests aren't too difficult but some questions were a little tricky. There is homework but it's not bad. Extra credit was given too!
Shes a great teacher who is funny and explains things great. She really focuses more on the main points of history and her tests are straightforward and easy. All you really have to do is take good notes and you will be good. She is pretty hot too.
At first I really didn't like Professor Dilley, but she's actually really great. Her lectures are fantastic and really tie in how early american history is still relevant to society today. How the values and traditions still appear even now. I always look forward to class.
Professor Dilley makes the oldest history of America seem new the way she gets the information across. I enjoy going to her class and listening to the way she describes each event in history and how or why it came to be. Attendance is important because her powerpoints are very concise and what she says in class is mostly what is on the exams.
Dilley is enthusiastic and engaging as a lecturer. She respects students and really listens to them. She wants them to do well. Tests come from lectures, so go to class. Grading criteria clear and reasonable. She enjoys teaching and history and it shows.
Easily one of the greatest professors I've ever had. Professor Dilley is very knowledgeable and passionate about history. She keeps things interesting and lectures are like amazing stories every time. Exams are really short so it's important to attend lectures because her tests come from there. Show up, take notes, and you should be fine.
Taking the class is awesome until you take the test, it was okay for the first couple tests then the last one had so much material from the online reading and less from the lecture. It was hard to do well without reading both and taking notes on both. The online required reading is okay but much of it was not on tests except the last one.
She is a great professor. Very accessible and helpful. The course does demand a lot of reading and work, but the professor was generous enough to divide it well and help the student make the deadlines. Her lectures are insightful and work isn't too hard either. Take her if you can follow instructions and are ready to work for a desirable grade.
Tests are hard and include reading materials after class. A lot of PSA's and group work. Not recommend!!
Make sure you do your homework, as long as you do your homework and study off of that you will pass her exams. My final was just a 4th exam and wasn't cumulative, offers extra credit, very easy to understand. Tests are based off of homework and lecture. ATTENDANCE is mandatory through Top Hat, she grades this. You should have no trouble passing.
I would say, as a history professor, the most important thing is showing as less bias as possible in the class. Unfortunately, Professor Dilley is not this type. However, her lecture was funny and useful. She offers extra credit and you can get A's and B's if you put time onto it. That's all I can say about her.
Take Dilley whenever possible, she makes history fun and interesting! Attendance is mandatory, and her tests are heavily lecture based so make sure you show up. The course is VERY easy if you show up and take good notes on the lectures. Her expectations are clearly stated from the start, and it is very easy to get an A.
Dilley is a great lecturer who can make complex events and concepts seem simple. She treats students with respect. Follow the syllabus, come to class, you will do fine.
Honestly, she is the easiest professor I've ever had. All you have to do is go to class, take notes on everything she says and study the powerpoints. You do a couple of easy assignments throughout the semester and one essay that she grades leisurely. As long as you take notes in class you'll get an easy A. All in all, a very straightforward class.
Amazing and soooooo easy! I highly recommend. She's definitely a GPA booster. I did not study at all. She provides powerpoints via blackboard, so if you miss class you will be fine.
Prof. Dilley's class was fairly easy and very informative. She has a very clear grading criteria and follows the syllabus pretty good. Study the powerpoints and you will be good but being present in class is also a plus because she does add in some extra notes. Her exams are multiple choice, T/F and some Who? What? When? Where? Why? on some vocab..
Super cool lady. Really passionate. DO NOT COPY THE POWERPOINTS, they will be uploaded, listen to the lecture. Tests are on the notes, easy A/B. STUDY AND DONT BE LAZY.
Dilley is very passionate about what she teaches, making the class easier to learn in. The homework is super easy and there is not a lot of it.
This class is very test heavy. The tests include about 20 multiple choice questions and then you are asked to choose 5 vocab terms and free response who what where when and why about all of them. YOU MUST REMEMBER DATES FOR THIS CLASS (i.e, 500 CE, etc). Many people in my class were struggling to pass but Dilley is funny and nice!
Her class was so easy, she posts the slides on blackboard but attendance is apart of your grade. The tests require studying because about half the tests are written response. As long as you take notes and read the slides youll do fine. One thing that sucks though is she uses the +/- scale, so an A is a 92.
she's great, she loves history and makes it very interesting the homework is easy. She also gives reviews for all of the exams including the final.
I took this course on the recommendations of past students who rated her on this website. I regret my decision. Mrs. Dilley screams her lectures in ultrasonic high-pitch, and it is very annoying. Her tests are also tricky. I love history, but did not enjoy this class. If you take good notes and study them, you will pass. Take Ms. Minten instead.
Professor Dilley was phenomenal. She makes history come to life. She does what all great history teachers do and tells it like a very interesting story. She often goes into details about minute stuff as well. She's also very charming and witty. a true 10/10
Her lectures are quite interesting. She also provides extra credit that required very little work. The tests are solely based on the lectures. The textbook (learnsmart) may help to reinforce certain ideas, but it can be tedious to be reading about something that you know you're not getting tested on. There are also group assignments outside of test
Professor Dilley is an amazing Professor! I absolutely love her! She also teaches World civilization classes which I am also taking with her. She is just an all-around fun and easy to get along with professor. She is the first professor that I've had that I actually felt comfortable going to and asking for help with my papers. Recommended highly!!!
Love this professor, taken her three times and I would take her for any course. She is a true gem, very caring and helpful. She expects you to do your part.
LOVE HER can i keep her? great lectures notes are fabulous she is really caring but she doesn't take late work. easily the best professor Ive ever had. wish she taught more courses. I've had her 3x and would take her 300 more times if i could.
I have taken Professor Dilley for two classes now, and I love her! She is an amazing teacher and will always be able to help you if you need it. I have used her to proofread other class papers and even just to ask questions from other classes! I would really recommend taking her if you love history and fun lectures!
Her tests are so hard. Her tests have 45 questions with only just 50 mins. It's tough to get finished, and sometimes I would have to rush on them and fail. I asked if I could get extra time, and she, unfortunately, said no. But I think she's really nice and caring as a person and a teacher.
This the second time I took a course with Dilley. I made an A in an intro class and a B in an upward division class despite not actually reading the book! She responds to e-mails ASAP and as long as you try you will pass! I'm a junior and hands down she's the most easy going professor I ever had! She also very nice and has an upbeat attitude!
Taken online due to COVID but wish I had her in person, she's fun. Online was a bit dull at times as it's mostly taking notes on lectures and then doing independent reading/response assignments without much interaction. The textbook is free and not needed but is helpful at times. Exams require good notes and/or good studying but chill overall.
She is an amazing lecturer, but I wish I had taken the class fully in person. You have an assignment due every week on Sunday, which is not too bad. Make sure you work on your semester project throughout the semester or you will struggle. Tests can be a little difficult, but if you take notes and pay attention it is not too bad.
This professor is one of the best history teachers. Last year, I had a really bad history teacher, even though I loved history, I struggled in the class, and I really wish I had her last year. The way we do notes, assignments, and teaching makes it so much easier and I've done extremely better in her class and love to do her things! Very nice, too!
There was a weekly module that consisted of a chapter reading, a few lectures, and an open ended question. The work is not hard but it can be time consuming. You are offered extra credit opportunities before every exam, and the exams themselves are easy as long as you payed attention. She's a great professor and as long as you try you will do well
I absolutely love Professor Dilley. Took her for worldciv and historical methods. The class is overwhelming at first but you get the hang of it quickly. Dilley is patient and kind if you talk to her about any issues you have. The content is also interesting to learn about (women's suffrage).
Professor Dilley is amazing! Makes me wish I was a history major so I could keep taking her classes! You do need to read the book and go to class, but just do the weekly assignments and it's a breeze. She's an amazing person! Take her class!
Professor Dilley makes class not boring, if you keep up with her and her grading criteria it's an easy class. She does assigns a lot of homework but that's not only since we only had her once a week.
This is actually the second time I have taken Professor Dilley. She is a wonderful professor who is passionate about history. The work was a little overwhelming at times, but it was never something I couldn't handle. I highly recommend you take her class!
This was the worst professor I have ever taken. Take anyone else if you don't want your entire semester ruined by one class. The amount of homework given each week is crazy. The lectures are so boring and way too long. If you need a history credit, take Professor Peterson, trust me.
This is my 3rd time taking Dilley, she has been one of my favorite professors at UTSA. Take notes while watching the online lectures and do the weekly reading assignment. The work can be a bit much if you aren't a history major but she isn't a tough grader. If you do all your work you should easily be able to pass with an A
She is full of herself and makes class unnecessarily difficult., Often cancels without notice.
Prof Dilley is one of the best profs at UTSA. I don't know about her other classes, but her Historical Research class was an EASY A, like hilariously easy. As long as you showed up to class to turn in work, you were fine. Many didn't and their grade suffered. Do the work, ask questions, and you should be fine. She's very open, just talk to her.
Professor Dilley has and will be one of my favorite professors at UTSA. She is super smart and actually cares about her students. It is a history course so get ready to read, but it is actually interesting for any major. Four essays throughout the course and weekly texts analysis, pretty easy. 1000/10.
Professor Dilley makes history engaging. Her classes are manageable as long as you attend and do the assignments. The content is interesting, and she's very approachable. I found Unstuck AI's practice questions and flashcards helpful for staying on top of the material.
Hybrid lectures with quizzes STRICTLY based on notes. If you didn't write down EVERYTHING, she said in the lecture you're not passing. Turns a 1-hour lecture into 2.5 hours due to how elaborate your notes have to be. 8 questions per quiz, but only gives 7 minutes, you don't even have enough time to look through your notes that took you hours.
I think Professor Dilley is great at keeping the class engaged with discussions. She is a fair grader and gives good feedback. However, if her TA is grading your papers, be prepared for their nit picking, and small mistakes can cost you lots of points off your grade. Overall, I did enjoy her class, but the 8-10 page final paper... not so much lol.
I thoroughly enjoy Prof. Dilley's classes. Generally speaking, there is a moderate amount of reading, but what else do you expect from a college level history class? Even so, the readings she selects are engaging, well written, and always very relevant to the course work. Highly recommend. Top marks!
Really enjoyed her class, her lectures are engaging and she is very funny and respectful. I felt that I learned a lot in her courses and look forward to taking her again.
