Had her for Summer session BIO 100 at ASU West. Great teacher. Subtle sense of humor keeps you entertained. Attend class/labs, follow guided PowerPoints, & study test banks, and you will get an A. All exam questions appear in test banks which are provided through blackboard. Bonus points for attendance and bonus questions in exams.Highly recommend!

All of these reviews are ridiculous. CHM 101 is a joke. All you have to do is listen to her talk and take notes. I spent 3 hours per week (this includes the lecture, lab, homework, and quiz) for this class and I got an A. And do you know all of the homework questions can be found on a google?

This class was demanding! I took it online in 7 weeks. I The material isn't necessarily difficult, there is just a lot to know. You can google a lot of her test/quiz questions and find the answers online through other professors' posted study guides/tests. Take it online if you have the time to dedicate 7 weeks to mostly CHM 101.

Had her as honors chemistry class in High school she was tough but manageable. She is nice and funny.

The text book is provided free. You have to memorize all the math concepts which build every chapter. The teacher made it clear she will not respond to emails. The FB group is a good place to get questions answered. The teacher does not have to do any work. The whole class is provided by the text publisher. You have to be good at independent study.

I have no chem background. If you read the text, take notes, do the assignments, and do the practice quizzes, you can't not get an A. If you are lazy or can't handle basic algebra, this is not the class for you. Donovan answers questions through the class FB page. Ignore the whiners, this class is reasonable and I learned a lot.

Lectures can be long, but it is a lot to cover in 6 weeks. Assignments and a lab quiz due every week, so it's the same layout. They take some time so clear your schedule for it! Some answers can be found online, but there's a lot of math so the numbers change. Definitely doable if you just do the assignments and put in the time!

She is a great professor that gives you all of the materials at the beginning. If you work(like me), you won't have ANY free time outside of class and work. I bawled my eyes out quite a few times because of the difficulty - I had boyfriend tutor me though. I got A's on all assignments and still got a C in the class. GRADES RELY ON EXAMS.

7 wk online class was a challenge. I feel Dr. Donovan offers plenty of opportunity to do well. Most assignments are worth more than the 10 pts we're graded on and there was extra credit opportunity which was basically a "gimme" of 40 points. I think she goes out of her way to provide opportunity to do well in this class.

Chemistry was a very hard class and concept for me. I worked somewhere around 8 hours a day on this subject alone. The professor did a great job explaining and providing resources for us. She also provided a facebook group which was really beneficial for brainstorming, questions, & networkin. The textbook was online and I hated it, but it was free!

I'm not sure what to rate the professor since I haven't spoken to her much. The exams are worth 100 points each. Make sure to take a ton of notes and write down the questions and answers that are in the book. The exams are proctored which sucks but they can't see you texting so do what you will with that info lol

Homework is super easy because Answers can be changed as many times as needed prior to the due date. Exam's questions are all from the in-text questions. They are the same. Extra credit is from the discussion area. Just type the question that you have or help others, you can get the points. Super easy. Choose her. Easy A

Everything about this class is pretty easy, the homework allows multiple attempts and will show the correct answer. All the exam questions are from questions in the text word for word. Study if you truly want to understand chemistry but If you need to pass this class because your a non science or math major, take this class. ps LOTS of extra credit

I am NOT strong in math/science and was nervous, but I still pulled off an A+ in this course. There's a LOT of reading + some challenging concepts, but if you spend time doing the practice questions, in addition to the homework, it's totally doable. Test questions are directly from practice questions. Lots of extra credit + she was very responsive.

If you NEED this class for a prerequisite TAKE HER class! SO EASY! Lots of extra credit! You can use notes for the exam and the questions are WORD BY WORD from the in text practice questions.. write down all the question/answers from the practice questions in your notes and you'll pass. If you truly want to learn about chemistry, don't take her.

It is entirely taught through TopHat, which is surprisingly helpful. This class is so EASY you can fly through the homework and exams with an A. Homework questions can be changed as many times as possible to get 100%. These questions are EXACTLY on each exam (not cumulative), word for WORD!! As long as you prep for each exam, you'll be FINE :)

Dr. Donovan takes chemistry and makes it accessible. Clear and concise in her lectures. Reiterates points repeatedly to ensure understanding. Sets expectations early and gives many opportunities to maintain an A grade with extra credit, and tips for the tests. Work load is heavy but you'd have to really slack to not pass with a good/decent grade.

Honestly, I don't know how you could not get an A+ in the class. You change your HW answers until they are correct. You can have unlimited notes for the exams and you know the questions ahead of time. TAKE HER CHEM 101

Chemistry was a breeze thanks to her. There are about 35 questions due every couple of days and she makes it easy to get 100% on all of that. Extra credit is built into the course. You are able to use as many notes as you want during the test and she is always available to ask questions. Take lots of notes to use for the tests. TAKE HER CHEM CLASS!

Donovan was a great teacher. The class was really easy. Everything was online and you get extra credit if you ask questions and help other students. Make sure to study the in-book questions because that is what the tests are based off of. She makes videos to help and to show progress of the class.

Dr. Donovan is awesome! All she wants is for her students to succeed and be stoked about what she has to share! While most of the assignments were done in an interactive textbook, they were easy to understand and it was super easy to ask questions if they arose. I felt like I grasped things pretty well. Super accommodating!

I found this to be a great class. Course work was not overwhelming. Dr. Donovan responded quickly every time I reached out. However, there were many typos in the materials and one particular in an exam that caused me to pick the wrong answer (it was in a chemical equation), and Dr. Donovan refused to give credit. Annoying, but still a good class.

Prof. Donovan, knows her stuff, and she is very helpful. For this class she uses top hat, and then converts it to Canvas for homework. The Exams are proctored and done through Canvas. Very simple style, but you are able to learn without being lost. Her assistants (TAs) are amazing. Use them all for questions.

Professor D, is amazing teaching and individual. She truly cares, and is a good lecturer in my opinion. She is backed by 2 amazing TAs and always gets an answer for you. With so many students in class, this is truly amazing. I have learned from this class and will continue to grow in chemistry do to her teachings. Take her class, to learn....

One of my favorite online classes to date, she is a phenomenal instructor and very clear. You have to put some effort in to pass, it isn't hard though, she makes it easy to understand and even fun. If you are deciding between courses for science, it's an easy choice, choose this one.

Profesor Donovan is caring, helpful, kind, and genuinely wants her students to succeed. Anytime I posted a question on the dicussion board, she answered within 24hours. I thought the class was easy to understand and navigate. Plenty of extra credit offered. Tests are proctored but are open notes.

Great online chemistry course. All work is done through TopHat, which you have to pay for. Lockdown browser exams with page of notes. Its a good course with lots of extra credit in the homework. I recommend if looking for an online course with a professor you can reach out to.

If you are looking for an easy chemistry class, this is probably your best bet. It was super easy for me the exams are proctored but you aloud note. PAY ATTENTION TO ANNOUNCEMENTS because she literally tells you where to look for the answers for the exam questions.

Dr. Donovan's iCourse for CHM101 is an awesome choice. The class consisted of bi-weekly readings and questions, and 4 exams. I never directly interacted with her due to it being an online course, however she was extremely organized and seemed to be very supportive to her students. The online "textbook" was on the pricey side.

ALL answers can be found by utilizing resources. Write down or type ALL of the IN TEXT CHAPTER QUESTIONS, they are word for word on the exams (hw questions, lab, and other questions will not show up on the exam) you can use hand notes. Extra credit is at the end of each chapter hw. You would really really REALLY have to slack to not receive an A+.

Do the homework, ask questions, and stay on pace with the course. It is a lot of information but is certainly doable. More effortful than difficult, if that makes sense.

She gives students a great opportunity to earn a high number of points on assignments that you don't feel stressed to just memorize, but you can have room to ACTUALLY learn. She was present, made personalized announcements, and responded quickly. The course was interactive, had engaging practice, and information relevant beyond the class.

Awesome chem professor! She is super caring and has awesome TAs. LOTS of extra credit and office hours from each TA and professor. Responds super quick. You'll get what you put into the course. Set aside 1-3 hours a day or 15 a week to be on the safe side. Easy exams as well, open note.

Assignments are super easy. Total of 4 exams (proctored), but are super easy especially if you study the homework assignments. 2/3 homework assignments due once every week or once every other week. Homework assignments are super easy. There is one bigger individual project throughout the semester but it is super easy. Quizlet is a huge help!

There are three total tests for the class, each covering three chapters each and each being 50 questions and all multiple choice and proctored. She graded all the unit assignments at the same time so there will be a few gaps between grades being entered in the gradebook. Extra credit is super easy and was why I was able finish with 102%.

This class was simple you did have to spend a bit on the textbook but as long as you went through the questions which you see the answers to and do all the extra credit which is easy just say what you struggled or if your doing okay on the work. I took this class in the summer and it was way easier than when I took it during the fall.

Anyone giving a bad rating is most likely giving the SUBJECT a bad rating. She's AWESOME and goes above and beyond to ensure preparedness for exams. You can use all notes for proctored exams and they are derived from in-text questions SO if you review them and can work through them reaching the correct answer, then you will be fine on the exams.

Super straightforward course. Homework every week or every other week, but it is very simple. Gives extra credit, though you don't really need it at all if you just do the homework. Tests are open note, so definitely take time to look at the in text questions since that's where the questions come from. Honestly, this class was great!

The class is done entirely within Tophat. The professor is OK-not particularly helpful but not bad either. The Tophat is peppered with erroneous information, and tests are based on exactly that, so take verbatim notes. I recommend the class if you just need to fulfill a requirement, but not if you are planning on taking harder chem classes.

Great class to knock out that CHM requirement. Very clear expectations. All coursework is done in TopHat, so make sure you have a stable internet connection. Her lectures in the modules are very helpful. Open note plus all exam questions are from TopHat learning, so makes it possible to actually learn with out stress. I no longer hate Chem. :)

Readings from textbook is heavy but necessary if you want to understand what is going on in the class. Homework gives unlimited attempts and will tell you the answer after one attempt. Quizzes/Tests are pulled directly from the in-text reading review questions. EXACT word for word. Straight forward class and felt like I actually learned chemistry.

Anyone giving a bad review here is rating with the *subject* in mind over the professor. If you're not a fan of chemistry, well then obviously this isn't your favorite class lol. The professor doesn't deserve a bad review, though. Do the work, take notes, and you'll be fine. Exams are open-note, with questions taken directly from TopHat and Aktiv.

She explains in the best way possible and the notes are easy to understand.

This class is pretty straightforward if you stay on top of the work. The exams pull directly from the textbook and TopHat questions, so studying those is key. StayFocused and unstuck study can be great study tools alongside the course materials. Overall, a good option to knock out that chem credit.

TopHat is annoying but you get unlimited tries per question so homework is a guaranteed A, just make sure it's on time. You can use your notes on the exams and the questions are copy-paste from TopHat, which makes it very very easy to do well. If you want to learn I'd take someone else but if you're just fulfilling grad requirement take Donovan.

I was scared of taking this class because I hadn't taken a chem class since freshman year in hs. However I was pleasantly surprised. TopHat gives you unlimited attempts and aktiv gives you 7 attempts. The exams are multiple choice and a lot are from the TopHat hw. She also gives I think 2 extra credit projects and both are worth it.

Dr. Donovan is a national treasure! The 1st online prof that I could feel her personality through the screen! Class was straightforward w/lots of extra credit opportunities. 3 big exams (all Honorlock), but the homework was v manageable. A couple of the units did require me to find resources outside what she gave, but overall great class & prof!

This was an online class, the instructor was reachable but do not expect any kind of excellent solution if you have a problem. The information on homework, grading and quizzes is laid out clear for you and if you follow the instructions especially for the quizzes, you will have no problem getting an A. There were 2 extra credit chances and 3 exams.

This class was pretty easy in the beginning and increasingly grew in difficulty. I wish there were more lectures from Dr Donovan herself instead of YouTube videos-- though the youtube videos were sufficient enough to do well in the course. The learning styles of those videos helped supplement Dr Donovan's lectures, which weren't really descriptive

Professor Donovan is amazing. She cares about her students & it shows. There is a lot of reading & a lot to cover over the short mini-mesters. She's very accessible & encourages students to reach out to her as loves to hear from us. She does provide extra credit and I encourage you take advantage of it. Be ready for lots of reading and formulas.

I took her CHM101 as an online course and it was pretty easy. You aren't graded by much I mainly read the tophat hw and studied on there since those questions are directly pulled to the exams. You have unlimited tries on tophat so easy A there. Just study tophat questions for exams. Spent 3-6 hours a week at most. She had 1-2 EC assignments

Dr. Donovan's online CHM101 class was fairly easy with an adequate amount of homework but lots of time to complete them. The main source of learning I used was the application TopHat, as all of the questions on the exams resemble the questions from TopHat. Her lecture slides are decent but I only used TopHat for most of my learning.
