She is an absolutely marvelous instructor who engages her students and encourages them to interact with their peers, which is perfect for interpersonal communication. She's ALWAYS professional with a capital P! And she is fun too.

Jennifer is such a fun teacher, she is hilarious and she is very personable. Will make sure you know what's going on in class & she'll take time to help you. Grades very fair, and makes sure you get good grades; her goal is to help you pass if you put in the effort. I would love to take of her class again & recommend you to take her class!

I have been very happy with Jen. This is my second time taking her SP111 class and I specifically requested her when i registered. She rocks!

Jennifer is an awesome teacher. She is the only teacher I would take speech with. I recommend her to everyone who tells me they need a speech class. She really makes things relaxed and fun so that you can learn.

I took this class to avoid taking a WR122 class, not knowing what to expect. It ended up being my favorite class of the term. Jennifer's teaching style is second to none!

She is such a sweet and caring teacher. She actually cares about the students and their grades unlike many other teachers. She helped me before final grades to figure out what I could do to get a better grade simply because she wanted me to be successful, and which I'm sure she helped other students with as well. EASY A! Such a fun class I'm taking another from her! She cares for her students! There is not a lot of work required! She has a great sense of humor! I didn't buy the textbook. We only used it once and I just went to the library . She gives 2 weeks to do assignments before she gives a new one. The final is a group project on a supplemental book.

I took the condensed summer version of this class, and it was great! Waking up early while everyone is on break was difficult, but Jennifer made it worthwhile. Funny, fun, and caring, Jennifer was the perfect instructor to have. The textbook was only used a few times; I wouldn't recommend buying it. When necessary, check it out in the library.

I took this over the summer. Although it was condensed and it seemed like we had a speech a week, it was well worth taking the class. Jennifer is awesome, class was late and night which wasn't fun but I'm glad I took the class. Jennifer is awesome, I'd suggest her for any speech class.

She's an amazing teacher and the class is very straight forward. You get homework every other week and she is kind enough to extend the due dates at times. She gets personal and that makes the class a lot better. We don't really use textbooks. would take again.

I took Interpersonal Communication with Jennifer last term (Spring 2015), and she was awesome. You will have short, reflective papers to write and a book report at the end of the term, but there are no tests. She was fun and has a quirky sense of humor that I enjoyed. I hope to take more classes from her in the future.

This was my first online class and my first Small Groups class. I was nervous about both. I'm shy and this class helped me express myself and want to participate. Jennifer was so nice and welcoming. She made me feel so comfortable and was so positive. I have taken a 2nd class now and would highly recommend taking this class and any others of hers.

Jennifer Ethridge is an amazing professor! I took SP 111 night class with her at MHCC. Jennifer makes you feel so comfortable speaking in front of others and makes you laugh with her great sense of humor. Participation is key. She is always there for you and gets back to you quickly! You learn lots of communication and interpersonal skills.

She's nice and the class is ridiculously easy. Just make sure your there on most days otherwise she'll fail you. The class is so easy that I didn't do any of the required reading and winged everything and still got an A. Not too much speeches though, but there are a lot of talk about feelings. Gets kind of annoying.

I took this class last term and it was such an easy, fun class. Jennifer takes a boring topic and makes it more enjoyable. She gives good feedback and makes it an easy class. For a required, dreaded class (public speaking) she made it worthwhile. Show up, contribute to the conversation and you'll pass easily.

She's amazing! I would take her class again. There are no tests in this class and she is super nice. One bad thing, not really clear on class assignments. Other than that, she is great!

Jennifer is so freaking funny! I took her 6-9 p.m. interpersonal communication class, and I was worried about staying awake. I couldn't stop laughing after the class was over! I highly recommend taking a class from her if you get the chance because she's so laid back and understanding. Did I mention she's funny?

For someone with no stage fright or being nervous in front of people, I still learned a lot in this class. Jennifer may be different from other teachers, but her energy and dedication to her craft and her students makes for an amazing learning experience.

TAKE JENNIFER! She is a great teacher! She makes speech very doable for someone that doesn't like getting up and talking in front of people. As long as you go to class, do the few easy reflection papers and TRY, you should get the grade you want. She is also a very funny and kind lady. Take her class and you wont regret it!

Ethridge was a great choice for a communications class. Unlike other classes, I was always clear on what was expected of me. The class wasn't textbook heavy--allowing me to save money by checking out at the library--but it was participation heavy. Extremely easy to communicate with if anything came up and very understanding (and also funny!)

Jennifer has a great personality and is hilarious--at times. This class is very gender and heterosexual relationship oriented. If you want an easy A take this class. If you want to learn about Interpersonal communication, I would take the online course. She has a good heart, talks about her cat Oscar a lot and her personal life. No learning happens

Jennifer is a great teacher who cares about her students and their success. You have to show up to class, participate, and complete the assigned homework on time -- don't expect "just another easy A." She jokes around a lot and is funny sarcastic, so having a sense of humor is a must. :)

Take this class in person for maximum benefit. BTW, it could benefit almost anyone -- so many problems are due to interpersonal issues. I do think the students should be 18 -- it's sophomore level. This is very interactive which give students a way to practice what they learn. This class can be challenging, but Jennifer makes it fun too!

Jennifer is truly the best teacher i have ever had in my whole entire life. She is funny, and energetic. If you are an ESL student take her class you will never forget how nice helpful Jen is. She makes a lot of jokes about her cat and gets off topic a lot, terrible time management. But her class was a lot of fun and really easy. She assigns about 4 written pages every 2 weeks, easy topics about yourself, has optional textbook reading and mandatory book reading that you do a group presentation on at the end of the term. no tests

Jennifer is one of the best teachers I've ever hadnot just at the college level but in general. She is a fantastic human being who cares very deeply about her students. She's really funny, and lectures are loose and enjoyablenot boring. I always looked most forward to her class. Super quick with email replies, makes expectations crystal clear.

So, I took Jennifer's evening course (6-9pm), and I never had an issue pursuing attention or staying awake in class. Jennifer is hilarious. She cares about her students, makes her classes fun, and does lots of group projects. I wish I needed more speech credits so I could take more courses from her.

Jennifer is such an amazing lady but she really didn't teach much material. The class was by far the most entertaining and fun to be in but if you want to take it to actually learn a lot of material I don't think you'll be satisfied. I loved this class anyway, also if you're looking for an easy A with barely any work, this class is for you.

If you have to take SP111/COMM111, take it with Jennifer! She truly cares about her students, is a fair grader, and tries to make class fun. Most people (like myself) aren't a fan of public speaking... Jennifer grades you based on how much you improve throughout the class; she does not expect you to be a professional speech giver! Highly recommend.

Jennifer was the best speech instructor I could have asked for. She understood that the students all have fear in public speaking and that most of us were only taking the class because it was required. She was very caring and made sure we were all comfortable. This will be my third class I took with Jennifer with learning communcation. I have really enjoyed all three of her classes. I absolutely enjoyed her public speaking class and she does a great job of teaching and does make speaking in front of the class overwhelming. This class was very easy. All we really did in class was watch Ted Talks, discuss them, and listen to Jennifer talk about her cat. However I still enjoyed taking it! Jennifer is super fun, caring, and understanding. You don't really need the textbook, or if you do, it's only to help with the homework and rarely.

I had Jennifer for both SP 100 and SP 218 and had a blast in her class. She really teaches you how to improve your communications skills while making the class fun to come to. You have to come to every class if you want to do well as much of the grade is based on attendance but Jennifer makes you want to come to class.

I love Jennifer. She is very funny and loves to talk. This was a fun class and Im going to miss seeing her in the morning. The textbook isnt necessary and you get homework two weeks in advance. All you have to do is show up and be a positive person. If you receive anything less than an A, then you probably deserved it.

I took Interpersonsl Communications with Jennifer Ethridge as well as Public Speaking. She is a very inspiring and motivating teacher. Her lectures are fun and very impactful. I found my voice with her help and gained confidence Ill have for a lifetime. She was an amazing educator and I highly recommend her.

This was the most rewarding class Ive taken. Jennifer doesnt use powerpoints or scantrons; this class only involved a bunch of small papers and a presentation. The enviroment was positive and uplifting, and I looked forward to class. You get out what you put in, but shell work with you re: any issues, and shes super kind/flexible. Recommend!

If you need to take a COMM class, take Jennifer's. She is super easy going and hilarious. For COMM218, hw assignments were due every 2 weeks and the final consisted of a group presentation. She is extremely caring. I would recommend her class to everyone.

love this professor I would take any of her classes. she makes you want to go to school because your not sure what new thing you are gone to learn from her. The motivational videos that she puts on makes you feel good about yourself. This class is fun and interject, get yourself to one of her class because it will give you a new look at school.

Taking Jennifer's Communication class felt like going to stand up comedy. Really fun relaxed atmosphere that put me at ease to confront my speech anxiety. By the end of the term all students knew each other through previous public speaking speeches and it was not nerve wrecking any longer. Very little homework, the book was a short easy read.

I have taken 3 of Jennifer's classes. This last term I took Comm 115 & Comm 218. Jennifer is absolutely hilarious and the best teacher ever! You do have to show up to class, participate and do your homework. If you are struggling she will work with you, just communicate. She does talk about her fat cat with a tiny head a lot but you will love her!

I took her when schools closed during covid, we met in zoom and all just talked. CLASS WAS AMAZING. If I could take her class for all my classes I would. She is super flexible, understand, and funny, as long as you communicate. We watched 10 ted talks, wrote in weekly journal and wrote 3 simple papers. No tests or quizzes. Hands down the best.

Jennifer is one of the best teachers that I've had at Mt. Hood. We met through zoom and had a blast. The homework is easy and fun, and I usually never say homework is fun. Plus, she is hilarious! I would highly recommend this class for people wanting to further their communication skills.

I took interpersonal comm 218 & I learned stuff that will actually help me in real life. I took it during the summer half online half zoom meetings. It was a morning class but it was not boring; Jens humor & personality wakes you up ha. Shes hilarious & easy to talk to. If you get behind on work, shell hear you out; Just communicate. Great class

Jennifer is sooo dope! She is here to help you grow and she really cares about her students. She has a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor so we got along really well! I recommend her for any class you can take her for. Shes the best.

Easy, you don't even need to show up. Thank god this was online because I would of hated to share and talk in person. This was a communications class requirement which I hate because my major is not in that area at all. The HW is easy, just add random stuff to make it long and you're good. She's nice but I hate that class.

Jennifer is super laid back and chill. She loves what she does. Down to earth. The class I took was Comm218 (interpersonal Comm) and it was a breeze. She didn't over load with hw, just some reading and papers. The papers were mostly what you thought, felt, learned. Super understanding

She is a good teacher. Participation and attendance are mandatory (it's communication, so duh.) The 2 hour classes go by fast because she is funny and engaging.

Jennifer is the absolute best! I've taken a few speech classes in the past, but none of them meet the energy of this class. Jennifer is hilarious. Classes are 2 hour long, but feel like 30 minutes. Every class is a conversation and you never know where the conversation will go. Most importantly, Jennifer is a super supportive, down-to-earth person.

I absolutely love Jennifers class. She cares so much about her students I have stayed after class multiple times to talk to her about my worries or personal things and she was always there to encourage me. She makes class so fun I never want to miss a lecture. I am 100% taking Jennifer next term.

I can't say it enough, this professor has taught me a lot about my interpersonal communication. I analyze myself in a way I didn't think I can. As long as you engage, participate, and do your free write assignments of the topics discussed; PASS w/A+. She's fun, optimistic, open minded, and definitely an advocate for her students. Speech class has always been a tough subject for me I was very nervous taking this class and Im so glad I took it with Jennifer she has made me grow my confidence in public speaking. Jennifer is such a great professor she always does way more than what she is supposed to do just to help her students pass. Towards the end of the semester I had a family problem and couldn't attend class for the last 2 weeks and all of a sudden I see her calling and making sure I was okay and try to help me fix my grade and was always helping me.

AMAZING!!! Never had a teacher that has cared so much. The homework load is not overwhelming and she is very understanding with late work and extensions. Participation in Zoom meetings is important, but it is very easy to speak up in her class because the discussions are fun. Take her class you won't regret it!

I took COMM100 with Jennifer, and she made things so easy. Loved being able to show my creativity through her class. If you ever get the chance to take this course, take the opportunity, you won't regret it.

Literally the best professor I've had so far at MHCC. So down to earth and she loves CATS!!! I'm not good with public speaking but she makes me feel so comfortable. :)

I love Jennifer and most who have her will say the same. Honestly I would take any class that she is teaching. She is very responsive and always willing to help. She wants all of her student to get a "A" in the class and will help them do so. She is not the most tech savvy with online learning but her energy and teaching makes up for it.

Jennifer was one of my favorite teachers I have ever had.class with her was so inspirational along with all of her assignment given. It doesn't feel so much like work, but more like therapy within all of the chaos of the other classes. Her interpersonal comm course helped me with my personal and work life.I will be taking her again next semester.

You can tell that Jennifer cares about and values each of her students. The journals and papers were helpful for self-reflection and personal growth. I learned very applicable info about listening and the 5 Love Languages in this class! Also, Jennifer is willing to work with her students on assignment due dates and she's very clear about deadlines.

she is an awesome professor she cares about her students and values their opinion and feelings she also jokes a lot which I loved she always made us laugh her assignments were fun and easy to do I would not refer to her assignments as lazy as I learned so much from her blessed to have her as my teacher ! she is great and very inspiring to us all

Jennifer is an awesome teacher. She clearly lays out everything that is expected of you on blackboard and during zoom calls. She is ecstatic to talk to her students inside and outside of class and encourages you to reach out at the slightest trouble you have. One of the very few zoom calls I enjoy participating in. Cares greatly about her students.

After completing Jennifer's class, I am amazed about what I learned. My self-esteem is better after taking this class. She is very caring and flexible. I would take her class again any chance I get!

This professor cares very much about her students, whenever I had a question she got back to me in a timely manner. Feedback on papers turned in were very helpful and encouraging to continue to work hard. The group discussions were a lot of fun and engaging! I would definitely recommend this professor to everyone!

I by chance took this and got lucky getting Jennifer, she's the best teacher I've ever had in my whole academic career. For the question "Would you take this professor again?" I actually did and am currently enrolled in another one of her classes. I'm not to sure what class that guy below me took because Jennifer really is an AMAZING teacher.

If you're taking any communication course I would highly recommend Jennifer! She makes all her class sessions fun and engaging. She's an understanding professor who cares about not just your academics but your personal life outside of school. As long as you communicate with her effectively, you will have no trouble at all in her classes.

Ethridge is an engaging and effective communicator. She encourages and fosters an open and supportive environment for students to share ideas and thoughts regarding our lessons and material. Assignments and homework are broken down into manageable chunks. Papers reflect what we have learned and discussed. You get what you put into this class.

Jennifer is the best professor i have had yet to mhcc. she really cares about her student and wants them to succeed. I highly recommend taking any of the classes she is amazing!

Jennifer is the BEST professor I have had. She really cares about her students on a personal level. As for the class, one written assignment per week, one flip video discussion (if taking online), and one group project. Would DEFINITELY have her as a professor again. Very understanding and flexible, just communicate with her and you'll be fine :)

Jennifer is an amazing teacher! She cares for her student's success and if you communicate with her you will do well! I had two vacations and had COVID during my summer term with her, but I was still able to communicate and participate in class and do well! Jennifer is super funny, enthusiastic and makes class enjoyable!

Jennifer cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She works to ensure each student is confident and comfortable when presenting speeches. There were three main speeches for the summer course, as well as semi-weekly written assignments plus flip discussions. I would definitely take her again, she keeps the class enjoyable and low-stress!

Prof. Ethridge is an amazing instructor! She is very accessible outside of class and you can tell she deeply cares about her students growing as individuals and passing her class. Each week there is a short paper where a lot of self reflection and evaluation will occur, which I really enjoyed. I highly recommend taking any of Jennifer's courses.

Jennifer is my favorite professor at MHCC. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is very funny and her class is very fun. I know that I learned a lot in her class. The one thing that I love about her is that she works with you so you can do your best in her class and she gives great feedback. Already signed up for more w/her.

Jennifer is an amazing professor. She is very understanding and is willing to work with you. The coursework is directly applicable to your daily life, and the lectures are interactive and up-lifting. I could not recommend Jennifer and this course enough. She is the best instructor I have had so far in my college career.

I promise you Jennifer Ethridge will be one of the most inspiring teachers you will have. She will never let her students fail and gives a lot of extra credit which is very easy. Her Zoom class is very funny and not boring at all. Also she's one of the fastest responding teachers I've ever had. I promise if you take her class you won't regret it.

If you need to take a communications class, Jennifer is the absolute way to go! Jennifer works very hard to attend to her students needs. If you have an issue, no worries, Jennifer has your back and will quickly reach out to others if she cannot fix it herself! Do you work, try your best and communicate; you will easily succeed if you can do that!

Jennifer is a very kind and accessible instructor.The online course involved weekly flip video discussions, weekly papers, and multiple group projects where you had to coordinate with your classmates. She has generous office hours outside of class and always tries to help her students. Grading was a little slow, but she is human too.Take her class!

Jennifer is a fantastic professor - her classes are engaging and she genuinely cares about her students. The coursework is practical and Unstuck AI was a big help with study prep.

What a joy to take a professor like Jennifer. She is lenient in a fair way. She encourages participation and attendance and makes it enjoyable. Be prepared for lots of cat jokes and silly jokes along with lectures. Took her for two classes and they both were the breath of relief during my terms. Highly recommend.

3rd time taking her course, I truly can not express how amazing she is. I always end this class a 110%, lil HW amount. She's understanding, offers extra credit, and is a light grader. If you get behind, just email her and she'll work with you, she lets you turn in work from weeks ago & she does not take away any points! TAKE HER U WILL NOT REGRET!

Talks about ex husband a lot... but easy A. Not assignment heavy and everything was easy to understand. Was helpful with questions and responded fast.

TAKE any course that you can with JENNIFER!! I cannot stress enough how good of a professor Jennifer is. Do your work, try your best and communicate with her; you will get the grade you deserve. She wants you to succeed! Highly recommend this course- you will have a weekly group discussion and a paper, you will learn very important skills as well.

Jennifer Ethridge is the most attentive professor at MHCC. She cares for all of her students and wants everyone to succeed. She answers questions extremely promptly; even on weekends. This class (COMM219) does have a fair amount to read, in an online text book. There are videos to watch and weekly papers that are very good learning tools.

Take her class!! I was super nervous about speeches, but she makes everything laid back. As long as you reach the time limit you get all the points. Dress up and you get extra points. textbook is 6-8$ from online. Shes super funny, easy to get a hold of and cares for her students. Easy A
