She is hilarious!! She's from the North...so she can be very funny, in a good way. She really enjoys what she teaches and she wants her students to enjoy her class as well. I really like the course; I intend on taking her again. I would recomend anyone to take her for any Sociology courses.

Dr. ****en is really helpful. She does talk about herself at times only to help us understand and relate more to the topic that she is talking about. She doesn't make you read the textbook but suggest you to read the article books. she points out what's going to be on the test. also, if you are not open minded then sociology is not for you.

Dr. Fagen was very clear in her lectures, expectations and tests. She goes above and beyond to be fair on grades and make sure the class understands the material. Overall a thought-provoking class that was easy because of her helpfulness.

Took her for human sexuality. BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER THAT LAMAR HAS TO OFFER!! She's cool, and funny and opionated. Very easy class, i looked forward to being there everyday and i loved our class discussions. I just wish the class was longer than 50 min. You won't be dissapointed! :)

A friend told me to take her for Intro to Sociology. I had no clue what it was, but glad I took it. She is super fun, and energetic. I loved her attitude. Dr. Fagen is extremely liberal and open minded- so if you think this class is stupid and that you shouldn't take it then she's probably not the teacher for you. The BEST professor in the world! Her class was so interesting and can make anyone love Sociology. I never missed a class unless I could not avoid it. Her tests are nto straight from the book but rather from her lectures and she uses examples in her tests so you have to comprehend the material and be able to use it in practical terms. Take her!!!

Took her for Intro. She's a conflict theorist and feminist. She's very clear, helpful, interesting. Gives reviews, goes over them in class. Does not use book. Uses real world examples. Tests are multiple choice, on Scantron. Does not tolerate tardiness, allows around five absences. Obviously cares about students. By the way, she's really hot.

Amazing teacher! She gives reviews before tests and will answer any questions you may have. I would say her class was easy,but then again if you don't show up for lectures you will miss a lot of questions on the test. She is very open to opinions but she doesn't tolerate negative feedback. Her class is super easy. She does give reviews and study guides for every exam, except for finals(which kind of suck). She gives real world examples for everything and put it in words that you can understand. Her test are comprehensive. Overall, she is a wonderful professor.

Made a B because i didn't study for the final, which i still managed a C on from memory. She is a badazz. Go to class, listen to get general ideas, she is very clear and friendly like its a one on one convo. Don't have to take notes at all. Memorize the review for EVERY test and you'll get an A.

She's an amazing teacher, but requires students to pay attention in class. The tests will be easy if you listen in class&do the review she posts. However, do not be late to class at any cost, especially not on test days as she doesn't allow makeup tests, doesn't accept students into the classroom if 1 minute tardy,& her tests are 25% of your grade.

Definitely my favorite class to go to this semester!! She's really funny and cool, and there is no student-professor wall barrier. Her class sounds more like a conversation so it is easy to memorize things that normally I would have a hard time learning. She is extremely considerate of her student's needs. One thing though. Don't be a minute late.

Amazingly enthusiastic Professor! Brutally honest and fair. I had her class last and left campus in a great mood every single day of the semester. I even changed my major because of her! Class is so simple if you show up and pay attention; easy GPA increase if nothing else, but you'll probably enjoy it too much to think of it like that.

The most interesting class I have ever taken. Really got my attention in the subject. It is an easy A as long as you go to class every day. We had a review before every test. She uses real life example and it is by far the easiest class. Shes a great teacher and will have you interested the whole class time. Definitely take her. But don't be late!!

Yes, it's an easy class, but it is also one of the most interesting classes I've ever taken. Not only does she make you realize what is going on in our world but she makes it fascinating. She's a very good instructor. Take her if you get a chance, even if it's just for an elective.

If I could take her forever, I would. Fagen ties in the lessons to everyday dilemmas which makes the concepts so easy to grasp. Don't be late: she'll tell you to not come in. very strict on arriving to class on time. very open class to discuss your views on a certain topic. three easy tests gives reviews and answer any questions about the review. loves participation from students! trys not to offend any of her students if you disagree with a certain topic. Currently in my third semester with her (Single Women). I LOVED this class... Loved all her classes really. Excellent teacher. Don't be late, or she won't let you in. Participate in class or she will call you out. The class is fun and interesting. She is a tough grader when it comes to the papers she assigns, but overall a wonderful professor!

This class is definitely interesting. Some of the topics are very touchy and can become hot debates. She is open to letting her students say their opinions without her judging them.

It was a solid time in class every MW. She was very talkative so it was clear she was from the northern part of the map. There were three test, no homework, and the classes were interesting everyday. Sometimes there will be video clips of test material but that about it. easy class and fun environment.

Always there for you for her one-line classes. She immediately responds to emails and even has class instant message sessions. This is unlike any on-line class I've ever taken.

I had no intention of enjoying this class. However, she is an easy grader when you read her notes and watch the videos. She allows so much room for creative responses. You are graded on what you think instead of what did you copy from the book. She is so kind and eager to help! She loves what she does and really wants everyone to do well. TAKE HER!

My favorite on-line class ever because she posts her own lecture notes instead of power points or outlines, she responds immediately to emails, and she will call you if you need further clarification on anthing. Our discussion boards each week are so interesting! We also have class discussions with instant messenger on Tuesday nights.

I took this class knowing that I would be challenged to think differently, and I certainly was. I didn't agree with a large portion of the material she presented but she allows for you to express your opinion so long as you understand the material being presented. I would definitely take her class again, she is an excellent prof. and very organized

She takes the time to make sure we understand the material. The tests are over several chapters, which she will provide a study guide for each test. There are some discussions where you reply to what you read but can also bring in your personal experiences.

I'm currently taking her for Socio 1301 online and I love the class! I'm busy with weddings and travel and I'm so glad that this class doesn't come in the way of anything. We only get 1 or 2 emails from her to read during the week and we have a discussion every week which I've made 100s on bc she's open to our own opinions. Would def take again!!!

Easy class. You don't need the textbook so long as you show up to class and get your notes during lectures. The tests are multiple online choices. There are a couple of dissussions which are fun and easy. Overall I enjoyed this class. My favorite class during my first semester here at Lamar.

tests are mainly over what she lectures over. come to class, listen to her and shell go over all the key points on the tests. some times class can be a drag, it just depends on how much the class interacts. she gives some extra credit. she is easy to take and she made class bareable.

Her lectures are everything. It may seem like she's rambling on, but taking notes over that will save you once you take her tests. Always do the discussions because that'll be your cushion! Take her class, It's enjoyable and fun, her lectures are also the conversational type, so if you learn that way, take her! A few grades though, so be prepared.

I had her for the online SOCI 1301 Winter Mini, and she managed to fit much content into a small period. There are only 2 exams and 1 discussion, but you will learn a lot and be successful as long as you read the content that she provides. She is the most interactive professor I have had online, and she cares about the success of her students

I don't know any other professor who cares about her students the way that she does. She has responded to me/us on Groupme on weekends and once during a holiday. She will respond within minutes. She doesn't get paid to do that. I feel lucky to have been in her class.

I had her for Gender and Islam and it was half a semester. She is very nice and cares about her students. There were 4 discussions and 2 tests. You really have to read the material to make a good grade on the discussions. Her tests are just 3 or 4 questions, but they are written responses and you have to read the material to answer them.

She doesn't overload with tests and materials. Gives good study guides and will do anything to help you.

I'm graduating this semester & I have never had an online professor more engaged with their students! The reading material - fascinating & the text of her lectures - full of humor. ALL info & deadlines were available in the syllabus from day one. Surprisingly, she responds to class questions/concerns in GroupMe at all hours & every single day.

So amazing during this crazy time we are all in. This class had a pandemic and hurricane happen all at once and she was so amazing, concerned, and caring. If you are not into learning about people that are different than you then this class is not for you/ you should go crawl into the hole you came from. The group me is great!!!

She is honestly the best! By no means is it going to be an easy A but you can get an A by following the directions and doing the work. She makes it very clear what her expectations are. I have been in online college for a few years now, there is not one professor that has shown her level of compassion and care towards students. She is extremely accommodating during times of need, I had her during the pandemic and hurricane and both times she was understanding. I learned the absolute most from her classes.

After taking her 5-week summer session I consider this Professor top tier! I fully expected the short course to be loaded w/ coursework, thankfully it was the opposite! Lots of readings, though they're engaging and easy to follow. The weekly Zooms are insightful. The saying, as long as you do everything... accurate, and I still adore her!!!

Dr. Fagen is incredibly knowledgeable. She is always available and makes it seem like she's really more a part of the class than the professor. She is always available via GroupMe and encourages discussion. If you participate you will do fine. You MUST read the material. She wants you to succeed. Loved this class!! Dr. Fagen is a great professor :) She's really easygoing and funny, and always helps out students who reach out. The book is not required, but it will helps. She also records the zooms for you to go back and watch. If you watch the zooms, read the handouts and do all the 3 of the discussions, it is very easy to pass this class!

Who doesn't love Ms. Fagen? She is caring, engaged and very straight forward. Participation matters! If you put in the work, there is no reason you should not walk away with an A. You will need a textbook for the course. I was one of a few guys taking "Single Women in the US" and I found it to be very informative.

I took her in the summer. We read from 2 books and magazine articles online. There were Zoom meetings to attend, but you were not required to go. Our grades were based on less than 10 things. This course was not difficult and was quite interesting. Dr. Fagen is one of the best! Your participation in class matters and if you simply do the work, you will likely end up with a good grade. Dr. Fagen is very responsive, helpful, and supportive. If you must take a sociology course, look no further. Her classes fill up quick!

She clearly tells you what is needed for each assignment. The lectures are recorded and written. She engages with students and is always ready to answer questions. I always look for her classes. She really makes you think!

the course was straight forward , easy A if you do your part. didn't require a textbook she provided all the reading material throughout the 8weeks and the workload was fair a few discussions , midterm and final. Dr.Fagen was always available via teams for questions , grades and feedback were submitted quick. Instructions were detailed and clear.

Professor Fagan is passionate and engaging. Her classes are challenging but rewarding. Used unstuck ai and other resources to stay on top of the material.

After taking Single Women in the US this semester, I can't wait for the Handmaid's Tale class in the spring. I've never enjoyed learning this much!

prof. fagan is the most caring instructor I've ever had. She encourages us all to contact her anytime through Teams, including the weekends, evenings and school holidays. She even checked in on me and gave me extensions when I was having pregnancy complications. It's why her huge classes fill up so quickly...so sign up early!

The class wasn't hard at all. We had about four discussion questions that were 500 word but they were not hard to do. She is very thorough in what she expects of us and as long as you apply it you will do great. Overall she was great (loved the Beyoncé refs throughout the class lol) I look forward to taking her handmaid's tail course in the future!

You'll learn a lot about The Handmaids Tale. It's really interesting, especially if you join the live Zooms.

This is an overall review for Fagen. I've taken many courses with her and she's absolutely amazing! Even though some assignments require a lot of brain power, I found her courses enjoyable. She's super understanding and an awesome professor. I believe study guides were offered and were very helpful. Assignments are manageable and insightful. 10/10!

I've taken all of Professor Fagen's courses. Throughout each course, several things remain the same, her love for the subject matter she teaches, her knowledge of the subject matter, her consistency in how she teaches, and the care and concern she has for her student's success. She genuinely wants you to succeed! A great instructor!

Never have had a teacher as amazing as Dr.Fagen! Shes always available to answer all your questions, has a group me & is so involved with helping you. I would take this class again in a heartbeat! Shes a teacher that really wants to see you succeed.
