My favorite teacher. She is brilliant and knows international relations and comparative politics like the back of her hand. The assignments are quite demanding, but that just makes it that much sweeter when you finish them. Would highly recommend if you like international relations or are majoring in it.
Jennifer is a great professor and deals very well with the small-medium size classes that she teaches. For INR2002, you can get by with an A in the class with just her lectures in class and some casual googleing if you end up not buying the required books.
If you have the chance, you HAVE to take this class with Ms. Jen! She is such an awesome teacher overall. She's always willing to help and is just cool overall. Really loved her class and wish I could take other classes with her. She knows what she's doing and even though there isn't a lot of assignments, stay focused and know your stuff!
Professor Forshee is awesome! She is a very fun and outgoing individual who has such a clear and complex understanding of the International Relations topic - she presents it and engages her students in the lecture. There wasn't any homework, but there were 2 exams and a rather lengthy (but manageable) term-paper. Take her, you wouldn't regret it.
Jenn is knowledgeable and explains things clearly, and she's also a lot of fun and has a great sense of humor. She always makes sure you have all the information you need to do well on the tests, so when the discussion goes far off topic (which it will do frequently,)just enjoy the ride. Very informative and enjoyable class.
She is great. She is extremely knowledgeable in the subjects she teaches and seems to feel the information is of the sort most people should know as well. There is very little work, just a giant group presentation where she sort of jumps in and helps you. Unfortunately, she is just so darn adorable I find it hard to pay attention in class.
100% would recommend
Jen is awesome, and her classes are well worth your time. Clear grading rubric, also very cute.
Professor Forshee is one of the best professors at Santa Fe. She is always available to help her students.
As a 54 year old Male Student, I am confident that young minds are being well served by this individual and she is one of only a handful of bright spots in an otherwise sad institution.
Jennifer Forshee was amazing. I absolutely loved her class. She is very knowledgable and you can tell she really has a passion for what she does (I hadn't seen that in a while). She has an awesome sense of humor and has a great way of keeping you intrigued during lectures. TAKE HER CLASS! You won't regret it.
Jennifer Forshee is by far one of the best professors I've had at Santa Fe. She really knows her stuff, doesn't make the class too much of a cake walk like all other professors at santa fe, is super funny, and is incredibly passionate about the material.
She is one of the most supportive and coolest professors I have had. She is so approachable and willing to help. ATTENDANCE IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST. The research paper is so much fun, especially if you pick something you are into. Word to the wise, SAVE YOUR QUIZ ANSWERS. You'll thank me.
I picked her class up at the last minute and instantly, she became my favorite professor. Her sense of humor and how passionate she is about the subject matter, make this class a delight to be in. I'm looking for a way to take another of her classes just because of how much i enjoyed this one.
I took her online class for comparative politics, we had discussions for participation but the class was pretty much tests and two essays. The only chance for extra credit was in the final. You need the textbook to pass. She also gives 50 page case studies you need to read along with textbook.
I took Jen for Intl. Relations and Comp. Politics and am now taking her for Political Theory. She is without a doubt one of, if not the best professor at the school. Her classes are engaging, entertaining, and Jen is *very* knowledgeable about the subject matter. I'll be taking her Model UN class just bc of how much I enjoy her classes. Also cute.
GREAT PROFESSOR
Professor Forshee is great. She is super funny, and made international relations fun and interesting. She does expect a lot on the major paper, but nothing unreasonable for college students. I enjoyed the class and always looked forward to it. Note: she does use profanity in her lectures sometimes (never directed at students of course).
GREAT PROFESSOR!
She was really good. I enjoyed every day at her class. She gave us online tests, and we had to do one presentation. We had extra credit oportunities, and getting good grades wasn't hard. Everything was very esay to understand. During the lectures, she would make jokes and references to Game of Thrones, Harry Potter...
It wasn't the best class in the world. You really need to be into the class and focus. It was pretty difficult for me, but I worked with someone. I strongly suggest having someone to study with!
Life changing tbh. I loved her. She's an incredible teacher and the best person ever. Would take again for sure.
If you do not take her class, you honest to god never lived. She's an ammmaaazzzingg professor and she's also extremely funny. She made me love political science again right as I was about to switch majors. Plus, I bet she'd be an amazing drinking buddy. The class can be difficult but you really learn a lot.
Professor Forshee is the kind of person I want to be when I grow up. Haha. She's an outstanding, knowledgeable teacher, super funny, and makes pretty much every class interesting and engaging. I wish every teacher were like her!
Jen is amazing, i loved her class. It was so interesting and she puts a spin on the way she teaches to keep you paying attention. She is inspirational to say the least. Dont worry about the big paper (10 pgs), she helps alot and grades fairly... quizes every week kind of hard, not too bad. and NO FINAL EXAM if you dont need a grade booster.
One of the best professors I have ever had! She is intelegent and hilarious. She has inspired me to want to do more in my community and around the world. I am so thankful for teachers like her! This was the first semester where attendance no longer counts. You don't have to show up, but she does go over material not in the book during class.
There is one paper and two test. She gives a study guide before each of them so if you do the study guide you will pass the tests. Very funny teacher and an interesting class. There is a 10 page research paper due at the end of the ear but she breaks it up so its not bad. Those are the only grades you get plus 5% extra credit opportunity .
I enjoyed the class for the most part. I took it online and it was kinda different from how others described it on here. She never gave a study guide, a final exam, or any extra credit. She also would round my grade which would have given me an A instead of a B+ so my final grade ended up being an 89.7
Awesome teacher. Very knowledgeable about IR. Your grade relies on one paper and two exams, so be sure you're ready for all three. The study guides for the exams were very helpful. If you put in the work and she sees it, you will do very well in the class. Reading the textbook isn't super essential. I would still buy it for exam review, though.
The textbook is mandatory, however I only opened it to use it during the exam reviews. She only has a paper and two exams that comprise the entirety of your grade. If you maintain open dialogue with her, she will be there to help you out.
Jen was a great political science teacher, she is very experienced and is the equivalent of a walking encyclopedia. There are very few grades in this class besides mid term, final and paper. She gives interesting lectures that are worth going to, the book helps a lot with studying. However, her tests are hard and she is a tough grader.
Took this class spring 2016 and by far my favorite class at Santa Fe. The policy brief was intimidating at first but its very easy if you follow the directions. 2 exams (midterm and final) both were easy but only because I studied. Many failed but if you study well its an easy A. Awesome class and prof.
Professor Forshee is such an amazing professor. You can come in knowing nothing about government and you will leave that class knowing more than a political science major if you put in the work. The class is not difficult. Open note quizzes. The Mid-Term and Final she gives you a study guide, and the 7 page research paper she will help you with.
Well rounded professor, very experienced. Tough but very merciful. Her knowledge makes her very respectable
Absolutely loved Jen and I'm taking her again! If you're not a good test taker but good at writing, then this is the class for you. Majority of your grade comes from the policy brief. Don't wait until the last minute to write the brief and to study for the two exams in this class. TAKE HER
She enjoys talking and has a lot of knowledge. You have to read the book outside of class, and take notes during the lecture to do well on the midterm and final. The grade is broken into a midterm, final, and policy paper. The policy paper has to be at least 10 pages long.
There's not many assignments, but the assignments that she does assign are very time consuming. The policy brief is a 10 pages, footnotes and appendix are required. There's also a midterm and final. If you put the work in, you will get an A. If you slack off in the least, you'll fail.
JENNIFER FORSHEE IS AMAZING. She is the most knowledgeable, caring, and motivating professor I had in Santa Fe (even better than most at UF!) I had her for her first honors class for International Relations and I learned so much it blew my mind. She is very clear about what she wants from her students. She is also incredible in political theory!
Jenn's the best. Not only she performs fantastic as a teacher, but she is willing to mentor you overall as well. As such, she mixes the best of being an educator and friend, caring and handing you a hand. But take her classes only if you're willing to put work into it, or you're gonna get wrecked.
Jenn was an amazing professor. Her lectures were clear and elaborate, and she definitely puts in the effort to make sure you succeed in her class. It's a lot of reading required, so you have to really earn your grade in her class. Self-discipline and focus will help you with her class. I would definitely take her again if I had the chance to.
Honestly really hate the subject, however, it was bearable with her. Theres a lot of reading, pop quizzes, and the essays are horribly boring. She is really passionate and great at lectures. She definitely helps you out when it comes to the exams! She would definitely be a friend if I met her under different circumstances.
It's a hard class to take if you are not interested in politics. However, prof. Forshee makes it all bearable. I would definitely take her class again as she is a quick grader and provides clear cut instructions.
Model United Nations is serious. Jennifer Forshee will make sure all the necessary preparations are completed. She is also an excellent professor and no information is left untold. As well, this class is serious work but put in the hours and rewards are aplenty. Highly recommend.
Her online class is pretty easy and straightforward but she is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of and is rude to her students.
The exams are hard. The course material can be heavy if you are not a poli sci major or interested in political theory. Dr. Forshee makes the class very interactive, you will gain a lot of knowledge. She pulls facts out of her ass every other second and is very relatable to her students. She inspires me :)
Jen is the most amazing professor I have had to date. She's extremely knowledgeable about her subject matter, and a delight to have teach you. She's engaging and makes her students truly want to learn what she's teaching.
Tests are open book, but are still too hard. You have to write every word that she says if you want to pass.
I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH, FORSHEE IS MY FAV PROFESSOR AT SANTA FE. She's soooo funny, and she keeps her lectures interesting! You can't skip class more than twice or you can't use your notes for exams, but honestly you won't really want to skip. Participation is important, and so is being able to speak in front of the class. She's the best!!!
Honestly a real gem, she makes learning comparative politics fun. Besides all the frustrating information you will come to learn, you will no doubt enjoy the lectures. i don't think i dozed off once! You're allowed to use notes for the exam but only if you haven't missed class more than 2 times. 10/10 recommend this class.
If you want to pass you have to go to almost every class. She allows us to use our notebook in the midterm and final if we have missed 2 or fewer classes. Her lectures are amazing and she is hilarious. However, quizzes can be really hard and contain several chapters and they are weekly. Don't take her class if you're not going to work hard for it.
She is very smart and witty. She knows EVERYTHING- or so it seems about poly-sci and whats going on in the world. The class was scary for me cause I was a fresh hs grad taking this and history/ politics was something I ignored all the time. I didn't think I could do it but if you're like me TAKE ALL THE NOTES use these on tests. and you might pass.
Forshee is my fav. professor at Santa Fe and I actually ended up taking CPO in fall 2019 then in Spring 202 I took 2 moe of her class. I learned so much about the world and it was fun. Never once did I dread going to class. She truly cares about her students and truly only wants to help you. Test kinda hard but open note so take good notes.
CPO2001 is a class that you have to work very hard in to receive a good grade. Each week there are at least 120 pages to read along with videos to watch. The quiz questions are incredibly specific. When grading my final essay, she provided no comments and I had to ask for them. The comments provided were not clear at all.
Forshee is one of the most intense and inspirational professors I've had. She manages to keep punk rock philosophy alive in an institutional setting. Sometimes, she's hard to reach, calls people out, or enables a dynamic reactionary culture, particularly with MUN. Other than that, her comments will stick with you and positively impact your life.
I took her online class and felt she wasn't as present as other online classes. She assigned a lot of materials to look at weekly. Then assigned a discussion post and quiz for the week. You have to take good notes on everything she gives you because the quizzes are hard. Don't take her class just for credit, if you really want to learn take her.
Great Professor with a solid grasp on the subject material. Presents material in a clear and understandable way, while still delving into nuanced and complex ideas and issues. Expects a fair amount of effort, but very rewarding class. 10/10 would take again
Worst professor ever. Be ready to read a lot and do quizzes that have nothing to do with the readings. Don't take her.
Dr. Forshee is awesome. Always ready to help and gives good feedback. I would suggest going to weekly meetings, mostly just to get the experience and most from the class. Fill out the reading questions while reading and keep good notes.
Great professor, optional discussions are really great.
This class was HARD. There is A LOT of reading from the textbook and news articles so be prepared. The reading is not exciting and you will have weekly quizzes and discussion posts about the readings. She also assigned us to watch quite a few movies. Just be ready to read, read, read, read, and take notes if you want to pass this class.
Professor Forshee is one of the best professors Ive had. Her class mostly consists of weekly readings and zoom meetings. There are 3 paper/presentations and a midterm and a final. She has a good sense of humor and its really obvious that she just cares about us learning. 10/10 would take again.
Great class and professor. If you have a good understanding of history and world events, you will get an easy A and not have to study that much except for some specific topics. You will definitely have to put a lot of time into the foreign policy brief paper, though. Overall, not too challenging and you learn great real-world material.
Professor Forshee was awesome, I loved her class this past semester. Shes very clear about when things are due and her lectures were both interesting and fun. She has a positive attitude and has interesting topics for her exams and essays.
When I first read the reviews prior to the semester beginning, I was scared it was going to be super hard. However, she is honestly really sweet and helpful. STUDY!!!!! I barely studied for the first exam and barely got a C. I studied heavily for the second and final and got A's on both. The final paper wasn't that bad, choose something you like.
If you want to have a conversation about politics rather than a professor regurgitate tons of info at you, this is the class. You will leave with a much deeper understanding of the world. Absolutely fantastic teacher who will make anyone who wants to learn about politics excited to be there.
I loved this class. Personally I prefer domestic politics so I was skeptical of taking this class but I loved it so much. She made jokes constantly but truly loved the material. By far one of my favorite college professors. She gives so much opportunity for grades that even if you do poorly on one of her assignments that you can still pass!
I love Professor Forshee. She is an absolute expert in political science and will help you in everything you need. Her lectures can get a little chatty and off topic, but it's enjoyable regardless. I am honestly sad to leave her classes because I enjoyed them so much. Please take Prof. Forshee if you have the chance!
This class goes over many different countries and cultures and there is a lot of reading. The canvas layout is very clear and easy to understand. As long as you follow her guidelines and prepare for the 5 page paper at the end of the semester you will do fine!! She is very understanding and knowledgeable!! definitely would take again
Prof. Forshee is an excellent professor. The class isn't easy, but she will give you great feedback and help you to make sure you pass. Show up, do the readings and you'll do fine. She is lecture-heavy, but she makes the lectures fun. She is by no means boring. Again, show up and do the readings!!!!
I was worried before going into her class but she is actually a great instructor and manages to keep her lectures engaging and fun. For the final paper make sure to pick a country you're genuinely interested in and not just some back water third world country you pity. Tests are open note and you can take the quizzes unlimited times.
Excellent professor. I don't know why anyone would give her less than a 4 or a 5 rating. Having a learning disability, she was always willing to work with me. Do the readings, partipate, watch the short videos and follow the rubix, and her suggestions for the final paper and you will do fine.
Dr. Forshee has been the best professor I have had in college so far. Her lectures are engaging throughout the whole semester and her papers and exams all seem to follow the same style. She is easy to reach and answers emails within 24 hours for the most part. If you do the readings, which are not ridiculously long, you'll be fine.
1. Tough grader 2. Bad feedback 3. Fail one assign, fail all 4. No looking up answers - some people say you can to get by in a class, she has her own special way, so no, you cannot. 5. Textbook is outdated 6. Won't read essay fully and gives you poor scoring bc she won't do her part. 7. Hard to get a B. 8. Teaching comes from book, not from her.
This is my second time taking a class with Professor Forshee and she is amazing. Barely any homework and she allows us to use notes for quizzes. She does not believe in honor lock which makes the whole experience less stressful. I fully recommend taking her for any class. (I took her for CPO and INR!)
Great professor if I had to take another course of hers again I will. Tough grader, responds quick. There are discussions, quizzes, final exams & essays. Quizzes are unlimited tries final exam is based on questions from quizzes that are easy to pass. Don't take this course on a short-term semester there's a lot of reading; put in work you'll pass.
Very good professor. Case study essay can be awkward to write but her grading is fair (median was 90). Very engaging lecturer. Both exams are open notes. She is accessible and helpful.
I loved Professor Forshee! You can tell she really cares about the future of society and education, which is refreshing! Her class does require a lot of reading and writing but that is to be expected with most political courses. She is very easy to contact and her grading system is very fair.
Being taught by Professor Forshee was a great experience! Her lecture slides are great and her classes are highly organized which is very helpful. I do wish she gave more feedback on our writing, but other than that she is very fair. If you attend a certain amount of classes you can use your notes on all exams.
She was a very good teacher. Her way of giving class was very fun although she packs a lot of content in class so be ready to take notes. Besides that, she cares for you as a student and wants you to pass. Very interesting class though.
My fav professor at SF so far!
Professor Forshee is an amazing professor. All of her exams are open notes so make sure you have good notes. She is a really funny person who made the class laugh a few times this semester only has one paper which she breaks down into parts so you do not feel overwhelmed writing the paper.
The lectures have lots of information. NOTEBOOKS CAN BE USED FOR THE TESTS! There are quizzes every two weeks as well as projects that need to be done. It is difficult to determine what grade you'll get on the papers because the criteria just outlines the very basics. Do not take the class if you do not have even the slightest interest in poli sci.
I took Professor Forshee during my first year of college, as a freshman she was one of the best Professors I could have asked for to be introduced to what college life and school work would be like. Professor Forshee is down to Earth and at the end of day understands her students very well. She's hilarious & her lectures are excellent, shes 10/10.
I'm not a Poli Sci student, but her lectures are informative, great for understanding the material, and match up well with the exams. Open note exams! There is not much homework outside of readings and preparing for the final paper, which she outlines expectations for well. If you put in the effort, you should be able to perform well in this class!
One of the BEST professors I have had while at Santa Fe, her lectures are informative, interesting and entertaining. Attendance is not mandatory for lectures but go to them either way! You will never know when she gives a pop quiz and trust me they are crucial to your grade because she does not assign homework besides reading.
Assigns excessive amounts of long videos
Not too hard at all, just keep up with the textbook/lecture content. Prof. Forshee does a great job of engaging with students and covering current events that relate to comparative politics. Would absolutely recommend her!
She genuinely cares about what she teaches, and the best part is that you can take notes from both the textbook and her lectures to use on exams. She is dedicated to each student, taking time to answer every question. Although the essays can seem daunting, she is always willing to help and provide feedback when needed.
Tests were open-book and as long as you read the textbook/slides, you'll be fine. She sometimes acts like the class already has context with the way she talks about historical events or topics in class, which can be annoying. She's very well-spoken and talented!
This is a great class to take with her if you're planning to do polisci. There's a lot of reading, but she summarizes it well in class. There are no slides, just reading straight from the authors. Be sure to complete the readings so you don't get lost. She knows the authors and context well. Take notes and do the readings, and it's an easy A.

Terrible Teacher, don't recommend taking it with her.
Hardest class I've ever taken, and it's not because of the material, it's because she makes it impossible to succeed.
She should resign immediately. Do not take this class with her. She is very annoying trust me on that. Will give you a 0 even on a slight error. Don't just don't
This was a hard class but I actually learned so much. Take advantage of every extra credit opportunity and DO THE READINGS! Also, don't leave your 8 paged paper for last minute. Exams are tough but doable just make sure you have all the material down from lectures and readings. She's a tough grader on the final paper, refer to the rubric!
Professor Forshee is truly an amazing professor. She knows so much about political science and the world, and her lectures are packed full of useful and new information. There is a lot of reading from the textbook that is optional but I highly recommend reading the textbook. Her tests are open note, and she gives great feedback on the essays.
I took CPO, INR, and POT with Dr. Forshee, and all I can say is that she's extremely knowledgeable and knows how to deliver the information effectively. You'll get an A if you show up, do the readings, and take notes. ALL of her exams are open notes. She also seems to be caring . If you plan to do poli-sci, take all her classes. BEST PROF AT SF!
If you're a poli-sci major, do yourself a favor and take CPO with her. There are 3 exams, a 10min presentation on a country's political system, and a paper based on that. Do the readings and DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS. She'll deliver them with humility, with the sole intent of helping you understand the material. Best class of Dr. Forshee's.
My favorite teacher ever. She's absolutely hilarious and her lectures are super super informative. If you take good lecture notes and good reading notes you are destined to do well. 10/10
this was a hard class. but as long as you write down her slides, you'll be fine. you do have to read a lot (i personally didn't read all/most the chapters lol) but she lets you use notes on tests. she's very knowledgeable. i will say, she does cuss like a sailor, which made me a little uncomfortable at times, but overall she's a good prof.
Very knowledgeable and explains things in a way i understood very well. If you take good notes during lectures you can use them on the tests IF you have good attendance.
Best polisci professor I have ever had. She knowns her stuff and if you attend class and write down your notes you ill pass.
Professor Forshee is my favorite professor I have ever had. Her course is tough compared to some other class I have taken at Santa Fe, but she challenges her students in an engaging way. She is very knowledgeable in all the classes she teaches and there is not a question she cannot give you a well informed answer too.
The GOAT. Be tapped in and make connections with the material in class, ask as many questions as you can. Forshee loves a question, and the answers often really help. Write as many notes as you can in class as you can bring them into the exam. Focus on the mandatory readings, because alot of them come on the exams.
Class is based on 3 exams, an essay, and a presentation on that essay. Exams are half multiple choice, half written answers, and very tough grader on exams. Her lectures are alright but aren't very helpful when it comes to the exams. Extremely knowledgeable, you can ask her anything about anything and she will give you a long detailed answer.
