She is way cool, I actually look forward to her class. Lectures are interesting, projects are fun.

She is FREAKIN' AMAZING!!! I was not looking forward to public speaking, but this class was so much fun. I got a 100% on all my speechs and you should too if you follow her guides exactly. Fun class and GREAT teacher.

WOW! I haven't had such an awesome teacher for a long time. At first, I was not a bit interested in taking Speech 106 but it was a gen. ed class I needed; I TOTALLY recommend her. By the middle of the semester I looked forward to her class.

THIS WOMAN IS FREAKIN HILARIOUS!!! This was a very fun and easy class. She was very leniant about the topics we chose. Very smart lady, spunky, funny, and very clear about what she expected. Doesn't get any easier than that. Highly recommend her!

By far my favorite teacher!!! She made me love school and love coming to class. She is very honest and extremely helpful. Her class is very interesting and the lessons you learn are easy and helpful to apply to real life. Would definately recommend and would LOVE to take another class of hers!!! She is AWESOME:-)

She is an excellent teacher. I was able to use what I learned in her class when I gave my speech at my cousin's wedding. She was very funny, she got to know her students. I will carry what I learned in this class with me to the university. If you can get this class take it, but I worn you there were 30 people trying to add the first day.

She is a great teacher and really know the material. VERY ACTIVE.

By far one of the best teachers I've had. She is definitely a great teacher who really knows her material. She relates to her students and makes class time energetic which is key to paying attention. Never a dull moment. I definitely would recommend her to anybody regardless of whether you like speech or are just simply taking it for a requirement!

This is the second course in which I took and she was awesome(Cmst.105 & 106). Very easy going person and talks her head off. The class was easy, you just show up, sit there and listen and you will pass. The only thing that I recommend to her is that she talks a bit less and lets the students interact more(If your really trying to better your comm.

A pretty good proff. Though, i can see a little bit of her politics shine through which bugs me..but if your a republican you probably wont notice..other than that she was pretty rad

Best teacher I have had at VVC! I love her & I love her class.She is so entertaining & she makes her class really fun & it goes by super fast.Its easy not b/c there is no work to do, but that she makes the work fun & easy b/c the class is so interesting. The tests are based off of lecture notes that she also post on blackboard. Definitely take her!

Shes an amazing teacher and a well rounded person in general! Takes time off her schedule to help you and assist you in any possible way she can. Shes always clear on what she wants and if you don't understand she will clarify.. Shes funny and always talks about random relevant stuff. Her class is easy if you put in the time and effort.

Jennifer is really nice. She extremely upbeat but very informative. She uses her personal life in reference to the text, which I enjoyed. This class is easy and I took the 6 week summer course. She is really sweet and likes when people interact. Expect to do some talking in the class.

One of the best Communication instructors I've had on campus. Made the class and I laugh every lecture, great personality. I took it during the summer, 4 days a week, for 6 weeks was awesome. Don't need the book. This is my major and I truly learned a lot. Thank you Jennifer, for an awesome semester!

OMG you love this teacher instantly. She is beyond entertaining and she can talk and talk like nobody's business. It's awesome. Take the notes, give feedback and review what's on the study guides for the midterm and final. This was a great experience. I absolutely loved it, a good 6 weeks for a summer course. Mrs. Fowlie is an awesome teacher I took her for Com. 108 during the summer and Com. 109 during the fall. She is a straight forward teacher and will help her student succeed if you ask for help During the summer I didn't have to come to the communication center but during the fall I did. She a funny teacher and like hers students participating.

She is such an inspiration to me! Despite all of the disrespectful and down right rude students in her class, she still walked in with her chin up high ready to teach the rest of us who actually cared to come to class. She is a great and wonderful teacher, I used to be scared of taking in front of the class before her class. She will help and teach you tequhniques to overcome that fear and always listens. She is very nice and always clear, hardly gives homework and is always a joy to be a round. Highly recommended for those who want to be better public speakers.

If you don't enjoy school like me, Mrs Fowlie is the professor that makes you enjoy learning. Her personality lights up the room (yes I'm a male) and I smile right away when she starts her lectures. Throughout the whole semester she made class enjoyable with her facetious stories. You can tell she loves her job, and it reflects in her teaching. Professor Fowlie was by far my favorite of the semester. She is engaging, and she does her best to help you, but you as a student need to show that you're willing to put some effort into the class. Engage in the class conversations, she enjoys hearing your opinion. She's also very open minded so she won't shut you down for a particular belief.

I took CMST 105 during the summer and thought that Professor Fowlie was one of the best I have ever had. Certainly the best communication professor I've had. Participation matters in her class. Be ready to discuss topics outside of your comfort zone. If you participate you will get A, if you do not you will get a B. She watches who participates or not, so you can't be shy and not talk at all in the class and expect to get an A by getting 100 in the exams. Overall, she is amazing and hilarious.

This was the second class I've taken with Ms. Fowlie. She's a great teacher. She helped me realize that I was good at public speaking. She encouraged me to stick to it and to use my voice. I took this class for fun, but it honestly has helped me a lot. I've become more confident in presenting and just all around.

This was the first class I've taken with Ms. Fowlie. It was pretty easy, but you do have to put the work in. Show up for class and on time. Ms. Fowlie is not the one to be messed with. She will put you in check real quick. She was a great teacher and taught me a lot about communicating with others. At the end we had a group project which was fun.

This was the third class I have taken with Ms. Fowlie. She's a great teacher. This class shed light on mass media and she really opened up our eyes to how the media influences our generation. This class taught me to always read between the lies and to not always believe what we see/read.

I was Petrified about coming back to school. I'm sure Mrs. Folwie saw that. You have questions she will answer them. You do have to do some work and show up. Also she does like it when you participate. Also make sure your not on your cellphone to much. She will call you out. If you can take her class. She makes it fun.

Professor Fowlie is uplifting, she likes participation, shes caring and understanding but she can sense false info so come correct. I highly recommend taking her course. I took both courses on campus, she motivates you.

She's top-notch, I think the best communications prof you can chose at VVC. Makes us laugh quite a bit during her lectures. She has a way of keeping us entertained throughout the class period. A few discussion boards, a relationship journal, and a couple essays related to the journal make up most of the points (if taking Interpersonal).

Professor Fowlie makes the class enjoyable and funny. Shes very dorky, she cracks joke all the time her lectures are very clear and understandable. I had her for communication 106 and all we really did was take notes, watch a few films and do like a couple activities. We never had tests. Shes an easy class just gotta put some effort in though.

I really enjoyed Professor Fowlie's class. The syllabus is crystal clear. She provides outlines of what she expects. Workshops for extra credit (35 pts max, each workshop is 5pts) If you score perfect attendance all semester, your final is an automatic 100 %. If you skip class, she'll deduct from your participation points. She is great at teaching

Professor Fowlie is the best! Her lectures are amazing and hilarious! Just go to class and type or write out the notes she presents. Study these and an A is very easy. There 2 tests (multiple choice, free response, and matching) and relationship journals. Don't worry about relationship journals, half a page minimum double spaced. Highly recommend!

If you do the homework, pay attention to lectures (which isn't hard since she makes class quite enjoyable), participate during class, and study for the tests, you'll pass the class.

I took her online due to the pandemic. Her class is very simple. 4 speeches, a few speech evaluations & a final. Gives you plenty of time to get work done. I dont see how anyone could fail her class. Smooth sailing for it being online I would def take again! Shes the best!

Professor Fowlie is great 10/10! Her class is really chill and she's great at lectures. Book was PDF style provided free in the syllabus. Get work done on time and make sure to take notes during lectures and after quizzes! Alot of her midterm and final material is in them. Have an open mind while taking the class and participate, she loves that.

She is super sweet and takes the time to comment on all of your assignments. It is an easy class to take with another class during 6 week sessions. Although it is easy, it is also thought provoking and you are required to put effort into your assignments. Its effortword count so if you hate long essays this is the class for you.

She offers extra credit, as well in case you make some mistakes. There was only one test, the final, which has a study guide. She provides a great environment, Def take her if you get the chance!

I really enjoyed her class. We wrote papers based on some really good movies with a list of questions that had to do with curriculum. She was very much on top of grading and feedback. Most everything I submitted was graded within 24 hours, and always with a very nice comment. Two thumbs up!

I know that some people think she can be rather abrasive and at times she could be almost scary if she got mad at a roudy student..that being said I did really like her style of teaching. She's treats you as you treat her, do not waste her time or interrupt her. Her interpersonal class assignments are not hard at all and she's always contactable.

I am not sure why others rated her as they did because I personally thought she was a great professor. Class wasn't too difficult and with every subject you have to put in the work in order to earn the grade you deserve. She also gave me so much support and faith to keep strong. That is what matters the most. This class was enjoyable.

Make sure you always raise your hand and be attentive because she does grade you on how much you participate in class. Professor Fowler, is one of the best professors I have had in my education. Very manageable homework to do with a busy life schedule, as well as clear on assignments and necessary criteria. She has you create a diary and make entries on it throughout the semester focusing on a relationship between you and someone significant to you.

Such a fun professor and class. There are a few lectures the start of the class, but she keeps you engaged. You have four speeches total, demonstration, informative, persuasive and one with a partner. You pick your topics for all speeches and your partner for the last one. Altogether, a very easy and fun class!

I never had a day where I didn't feel like showing up to this class and trust me you're going to need to since she's strict on attendance.
