She'll give you every opportunity to pass, as long as you put in the work. Her lectures consist of filling in PowerPoint slides on her Surface. Print out the slides before class and copy EVERYTHING she writes and every diagram she draws. Tests will be hard, but she'll give bits of extra credit throughout the semester to help you out.

Dr. Jen is very accessible for questions and is very approachable. Class is all based off of power point slides, so be prepared to print 200+ pages. Homework is computer based Sappling, and not necessarily applicable. I-clicker points count for a percentage of grade. Tests are MC and short answer, & she gives practice problems. I'd recommend her!

Great prof, test are m/c and short answer but the practice tests she posts are pretty much exactly like her short answer, if you can do practice you'll do well on test. Do HW early and ask questions during office hours. An A is not impossible if you start preparing early. She is very helpful and understanding.

I enjoy the lectures, everything is self explanatory. The only thing that trips me up is the homework. She uses this program called SaplingLearning, which is an online based homework. She is a very good Ochem Professor, I feel that it is unfair when people say that she is not available for students. She is always there for you and not only in her office hours, but outside of the class as well. Her exams are literally what she gives on lectures, she NEVER tricks you! She is the best ochem professor for sure!

There's online HW and exams come from her slides. Doing HW/study last minute will not help you. I took this course during the summer; it was fast pace but doable. She's always available outside of class. Extra credit is an amino acid quiz. Quiz is out of 10 points so you can get 10 extra credit points if you get all 20 amino acids correct.

Professor Guerra is nice as an individual and comes across very friendly, but her style of teaching personally was not helpful for me. Her class is very very lecture heavy and she does not post the notes online, assuming you will come to class every day. She works very quickly and skims over a lot of topics imo. I ended up teaching myself

Professor Guerra not only makes chemistry easy to understand in a fun way but also gives us a heads-up on what to expect in preparation for General Chemistry. If you're struggling with homework, don't be afraid to go to her office hours, she will help you out on homework if you ask her specific questions about it. Would recommend.

It is a hard class but she gives you everything you need in order to pass. Highly recommend going to lecture, as all her exams come directly from her PowerPoints in class, there are no trick questions. She gives extra credit points, and usually curves exams. Very fair professor. If you put in the work, you'll earn the grade you want.

I had Guerra for CHEM 103, honestly its an ok class. Pretty fast paced. Her teaching style is confusing and goes over topics really fast. A lot of homework most assignments have about 45 questions. She is nice and willing to help her students and will let you review your exam during office hours. 4 Exams, are MCQs and math portion is written.

While she was very nice, the amount of homework assigned, like 30-40 questions for one chapter that contained multiple parts, was not worth all the work put in or even worth a lot to your grade. Daily lectures contained a lot of information, however, she would go over things quite fast, and your grade relied very heavily on exams.

Professor Guerra was a fantastic start to my college journey. Her class is easy if you're good at self-teaching, and she offers extra credit. She's helpful during office hours and lets you view your exam. One tip: do the homework, as it can make a difference between letter grades!

When she explains a word problem with multiple steps and equations, the way she writes and explains it is messy. Class is lecture heavy, written notes are not posted online. A big part of your grade is determined by your exams. Extra credits are earned for giving feedbacks. Overall, wouldn't take her again.

Professor Guerra's class can be challenging, but with the right strategy it's manageable. Her lectures move quickly, so staying engaged and using resources like Unstuckstudy for study prep are key. The workload is heavy, but office hours help a lot.

This class was very lecture heavy, missing just one lecture could seriously leave you behind in the material. She moves extremely fast during the lecture and she writes down most of the notes on a projector for the class to see which isn't a problem but at times it was hard to make out what she was writing. Overall a decent class.

Homework helps a lot and those exam practice sheets too. Go to office hours, they help. be as involved w her as u can if you have difficulty grasping concepts.

She is the most compassionate professor! has a genuine love for teaching, students, and being a good educator. If she is an option for ANY chem class, take it w her!!! Quizzes and exams are usually 30-40% conceptual. The concepts are not reviewed in class and only found in book. Doesn't matter if you study the content well enough - if you don't go over the ACS practice questions in the textbook you will not pass the exams lol. Made me feel stupid when I went into her office hours.. and has a weird curve

1st off, ochem is hard, so get that thru ur head before people try to convince you otherwise. Dr.G is the best UNLV has to offer. She helps greatly in office hrs, and her exams/quizzes are very fair, no tricks. Make sure to attend class as sometimes the book doesn't go into as much depth as it should. Thank u for a great sem Dr.G!

Jen seems sweet, but her teaching is not "IT." She will give lectures and post things and say you don't need to learn something, but still rant about it. Her exams do not match her lectures at all.She does not teach in a way to make you understand.

Moves way too fast and explains things like you already know it as well as she does. Shows difficult processes rather than easy ones. Introduces a new topic and then moves to a different one in the next slide while you're still trying to understand the last thing she so quickly explained before moving on to that. Test aren't any better.

She seems like a cool person, but not a good professor. Her style is mostly “figure it out yourself,” and she's not very understanding if you're not strong in chemistry. Even in office hours, she expects you to already know a lot. Her lectures move fast and barely explain new topics.

Dr. Guerra is an exceptional professor; she has increased my knowledge and my love for Chemistry even more. I will say that the class can be tough at certain times, but it's about asking questions, viewing your exams after they become available, working with your classmates, showing up to lecture, and with that, you can succeed!

I had Dr. Guerra for CHEM 103, and the class itself is pretty easy if you do the assigned homework and practice problems posted on Canvas. Attendance is mandatory because she uses iClicker in her lectures. She also offers exam viewing, which was helpful to see your mistakes. Overall, she is a good professor, and I recommend taking her for CHEM 103.
