Professor Guinta is one of those people you come across in your time in college that leaves a lasting imprint. She is not your 'typical' professor. She doesn't merely lecture -- she applies the lesson to real world stuff -- stuff that we can understand. PARTICIPATION is a must and she calls on you if you aren't raising your hand so BE PREPARED!

Professor Guinta is easy to understand and she gives real-life examples, not just lecturing from the book or slides. Recently she used a clip from the X Factor to demonstrate hypnosis. Though that may seem less than traditional, it was effective and the class understood the concept. Buy or rent the textbook - you will need it !!!

People need to chill out with their negative reviews. I have NEVER met a Professor so open and honest about her struggles with addiction and has us training for NARCAN. She cares about her students so much she's passionate. You may think she's telling but she has told the class she has hearing aids and knows she's loud. LOVE HER.

I don't understand the negative reviews of Dr. Guinta. She is a caring professor, and her class is straight forward. Participation is required but you will do well if you speak in class and study the material. Definitely recommend her for any of her classes.

I am not sure why she has so many bad reviews but she was an amazing professor. I personally really enjoyed her class. It was straightforward. The most important thing you have to do is participate, as someone who doesn't like Dr.G made it very easy and free to voice your experience and opinions. Great teacher!!

These reviews have got to be posted by Prof Guinta bc there is no way. She couldn't be ruder, more unapproachable or more unprofessional. Has a hard time controlling her temper then apologizes once course evaluations open up. Posted a cryptic BB announcement telling us to respect her boundaries and not email her over the weekend. Hard PASS.

If you give a bad review to Dr. G there is OBVIOUSLY something wrong with your criteria for liking a Professor. She uses her own personal life experiences to help students understand the concepts since textbooks can be so confusing. She gets frustrated when only the same 5 people participate in class. Everyone just sits there camera off & silent.

Dr. G is one of the best psychology professors at the College of Staten Island. She gives you the syllabus about two weeks before the semester starts so you know what to expect. She uses her personal life experiences to enhance the classes. I have taken her four times and she does NARCAN training for each class.

Attitude is something I have never see out of a professor before. Does offer a lot of extra credit. You need to raise your hand and participate a lot, and if you don't she will be a nightmare.

I had Dr. Guinta for Theories of Personality this semester. She wants participation but she does offer a lot of extra credit so it's not that bad. Tests and quizzes are straight from the Test Bank and slides. Dr. Guinta brings her own life experience into class, which is very beneficial. If you are a psychology major take her!!!

Looking for someone who just reads directly off the slides & puts you to sleep? This is your professor. By far the worst I've encountered at CSI. Not only is she dry, anxious, & unprepared, but she is extremely paranoid about students not liking her. Instead of focusing her energy on making the class digestible, she spies on group chats. Its odd.

She seems like she is nice sometimes but often resorts to a blunt demeanor. If you do what you're supposed to, you get on her good side. But it's kind of easy for her to not like you. Again, this just depends on you and not everyone would have the same experience but she is rather blunt. She's decent if you know what you're doing.

I have taken Dr Jennifer for many classes. She is very strict about attendance and participation but she keeps her lectures interesting and is very personable. She has a lot of quizzes but they are very easy and short.16 short quizzes on each chapter, 3 exams and 1 group project, no papers. Gives a lot of Extra Credit.

Dr. G is a great professor at CSI. If you are complaining about her you must be a terrible student. She wants her students to well, despite what they think. Follow the syllabus and you'll de well. I love that she brings real life experience to the table. We also had Narcan training, which is very appropriate for the current opioid epidemic.

You need to be ok with giving your 2 cents at least once every class if you take her. It's not bad, she just takes participation seriously. She can be a bit blunt which can come off rude sometimes, but I don't think she has bad intentions. The class wasn't difficult or a lot of work just the test questions could be a little hard, but not impossible

This professor treats class like her own personal therapy. I could tell you a lot about her family history & her life but i can't tell you much about psychopathy. She gets personally offended if a student disagrees with her and makes it known. I was very disappointed since the topic of the class is so interesting, but the class is very easy.
