She is a good teacher. She is new and getting used to the teaching thing, so she will make a few mistakes here and there, but who doesn't? She is also very good in lab. In both, she is very willing to help if you have any trouble.
Dr. Kelley is the worst teacher. Try to avoid taking her class if at all possible. She doesn't teach well and she isn't very helpful. You pretty much have to teach yourself everything and its chemistry...so that is hard!
She talks to the board the whole time in class. She doesn't teach she just gives examples o the board and expect you to know what she's going over. Do not take her if you want to keep a good G.P.A.
Can you say dumb blonde? She does not have the patience or skills to be a teacher. Ok, I know this is her first year, but come on people I know she can be a better teacher if she just take her time. Other classes were on chapter 2 when we were on chapter 4. Don't take her if you're not good in chem.
Wow! She explains everything, very clearly, to her target audience of the BOARD! She loves talking to the board. Her attitude is extremely poor. Watch out for her.
constantly having to be corrected.
The best thing about this class is that she doesn't take attendance, but you will regret missing the class because you will be so behind in notes. You will cut down a forest from all of the notes that you will take in this class, and she doesn't no how to teach. Stay away from this class.
Do NOT take this class! She talks to the board, has unorganized notes, gets problems wrong, and works too fast. She is horrible on helpfulness on a one to one basis. She may be smart, but she is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Find a more experienced teacher!
she is possibly the worst teacher i've ever had. she has potential to be an excellent professor. if she would just take her time get to know her students. she is the only professor ,I have, who doesn't know my name and the bad thing about it is she doesn't care to know it!
Hello, I'm over here not in the board! Dr. Kelley does not talk to students, only the the board! She writes like she is trying to out do a type writter. We don't do reviews and she only takes questions during "office hours". This is her first year, but maybe she needed an extra one to prepare.

does explain work very well
For those of you who do not take the time to go to her office, I guess you would feel that way! I understand everything that Dr. Kelly says. It doesnt hurt that she is so hot and has a big ghetto bootay!
She is very nice. Sometimes it is hard to follow her, because she is going so fast. Help is mainly given during office hours, not during class. She is a good teacher. She just needs some practice. With her, you will do fine if you study hard enough.
Jennifer is awesome...if you only know her on a teacher level than you are totally missing out!!She is willing to help anyone and everyone!!!Yes she goes fast, but its COLLEGE not high school...its gonna get faster as the years go...SO GET USE TO IT!!! As for those failing, just study...duh!!
If you get money for your grades, expect to get nothing.
Dr. Kelley is kick @$$! I don't know what you people are thinking. She is willing to help out with any questions you have. When you get to know her, you'll learn to love her. She's a WONDERFUL person who knows a lot about what she does and teaches. Anyone who gets her as a prof. is lucky.
I HATE THIS LADY!!!!! Shes acts all nice and then when you get a question right she tries to prove you wrong if her answer is different and tries to make excuses to why hers was wrong.....only taught one semester and already on probation....she won't last long
She is a very good professor. She writes all her notes on the board and tell you exactly what you should study for quizzes and test. What else can you ask out of your professor? The people who did not do well in her class simply didnt put forth the effort TAKE HER SHES GOOD!
She writes a lot, but it all comes from the book. She is very helpful-go to her office during office hours and you'll find that your question really wasn't that hard to answer. She does answer questions in class and has a nice sense of humor. She is smart. And has a great name...Jennifer!
She's new so she thinks everything has to be by the book. She grades alittle tought but she explains everything.
I really like this teacher( and not just because she used to work with my aunt:). Her grading is tough, but she's really nice!
She is a tough teacher and she teaches by the book. However, you always know what to expect in her class and she has really interesting stories (inbreeding). The subject itself can be difficult but just stop by her office. If you have a problem turning things in, she'll work with you.
Dr. Kelly is hard. Do not take class if you can avoid it. U will write 4 pages of notes and not know what the hell is going on. She is nice but confusings. she jumps around a lot.
confusing
Do not take her! Take Hankinson! She's fresh outta grad school and thinks everyone should know what she knows. VERY hard. VERY confusing. And after each test she asks, "You people sure you wanna stay in this class with these grades"? I'm sure everything is thinking, "Yeah, we just need to throw YOU out"
Dr. Kelly is a very hard professor. She grades extremely strictly, can be rude and sarcastic, and she thinks she knows it all. Don't take her if you can help it!
I did not enjoy this class. We spent all of the class periods taking notes and she would give us tests that had no relation to what we were discussing in class. I made a 44 on one of the tests. I do not make anything less than a "B". I found no way to study for her tests and was very unhappy with the experience of being in her class.
I love Dr. Kelley! The only people that didn't like her were the ones that expected everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. Just because it's a lower level class doesn't mean it's supposed to be made easy. Read over your notes and listen to what she says and you'll do fine!
She is fair with grades. Make sure you ask if multiple choice questions have multiple answers. Make sure you look at homework questions outside the ones she gives you from the book and read the blocked out sections in the book and the diagrams, some test material come from these sections.
She was a very very tough grader, she was very picky about what she wanted her answers to be and would count off if you didnt give her exactly what she wanted. I wouldn't recommend her.
She is very knowledgeable but she does not do a good job of explaining what she says. She is not a teacher she is more of a lecturer. Test are relatively hard. Final exam was a cake walk. labs are easy.Very, very patient and helpful. She loves chemistry and is an extreme nerd so stop her and ask questions or she will leave you in her dust.
Dr. Kelley is an excellent teacher. She gives help if you need it and you will do fine on her exams if you do the homework and pay attention in class. She grades extremely fair.
She is a horrible teacher. She feels that you shoudl be able to recognize material from high school and her not have to review or even go over the material.
great teacher i love going to her class, i wish she would teach 102 next semester
Dr. Kelley is a hard teacher, but she is good. I made a D on my first test but I had a A and a B on the other two. Just study the homework and notes for tests and you will be fine. Make sure you know how to work all of the homework problems. I'm glad I took her class!
I LOVE Dr. Kelley. She is extremely sweet, helpful and so cornily funny. She has a great attitude everyday. She uses powerpoints and tells interesting stories in class that correspond with the lectures. She's extremely helpful in lab. Ask her all the questions you want. She is just a great teacher.. Take her for Chem 150!! (Just do your work!)
Dre. Kelly is by far the best professor I have ever had. Highly recommended!!
I took her for 101 & loved her! She used powerpoints and online quizzes and homework. For 102 She just used the board in class and online homework. It's best to come to every class because you will be lost if you don't. She is hard & it's not an easy A but if you study hard & do good on the homework & quizzes, you'll be fine! She's a great person!
Not a hard professor if you do all the online stuff and the practice problems in class.
Loved this class!! She is really helpful if you have questions and the tests aren't bad. Take her for Chem 101.
When I was in her class I did not appreciate her at all. However, when I went to my 102 class I missed her teaching style. If you can, take her for chemistry. She is a very understanding and kind professor. The quizzes that she gives may be annoying at times but they will help your grade if you study.
She's nice. But that's it. She's not very helpful. She's super duper hard. Her homework is ridiculously hard. I didn't like her at all.
If you are good in chemistry and understand it a little take this professor. If you are not so good in chemistry please take Dr. Peterson because you have got to have some understanding of chemistry in order to survive in Dr. Kelley's class.
Her class is tough but if you study the book and homework you will do fine. Quizzes are easy but test require understanding of the material. If your good at Chem she is a great teacher.
If you understand Chemistry, take her. However sometimes she'll get on a roll and starts to speak too fast. She gives a quiz about once a week.
Dr. Kelley is very nice and really helpful. Her lectures include lots of examples so you always know what to do. Tests aren't too difficult and she gives quizzes every week that help your grade. I would totally take her again!
Dr. Kelley is a very hard teacher. Her test and quizzes are unreasonably long for the time given to take them. She gives no study guide. The 15 pages long of notes you take a day is helpful but still not enough for the test. She is one of the hardest teachers I have had. Unless you are a chemistry major and really understand it, don't get her.
Dr. Kelley is a great teacher. Her tests are difficult, study your homework from MasteringChemistry, make plenty of note cards (those may be your saving grace), and ask her during her office hours for help she will be gladly to help you out and work with you. Beaware the final is standardize. there are ten quizzes and three test not including final
Dr. Kelley is the best professor in the Chemistry department! She is so helpful and you always know exactly what is going to be on her quizzes and tests. She gives regular quizzes that are easy and definitely help boost your grade. She is also very helpful. I had her for 101 lecture and lab and 102 lab. Definitely recommend!!!
Difficult professor, but if you do the work on your end you will be fine.
Professor Kelley is an okay professor if you LOVE Chemistry but if it's not your best subject you're going to have trouble. She moves on entirely too fast and when she does stop to explain herself it's still hard to comprehend. She gives quizzes every week which can be helpful for your grade but sometimes too long for the amount of time given.
Chemistry is going to be hard regardless of who your professor is. Dr. Kelley makes you work for your grade and makes sure that you know your stuff. She quizzes you once a week but the 10 min time limit made it really stressful. Overall, she was a good teacher but makes you study and you earn your grade.
Chemistry is already hard off the rip, but she teaches way toooo fast!. you have a quiz every Friday and then after the 3rd quiz that next week you have a test, If u study it isn't that hard of a class and homework is mandatory. she can sometimes be a smart ass but overall she is very nice but i had a lot of late nights and headaches.
I would not recommend her as a teacher for students who are wanting to something outside of the chemistry realm. She is very knit picky about the work and answers you put down. Also she also goes really fast when she writes notes. By far the hardest class that I have ever taken it dropped my GPA from a 3.5 to a 3.3!
Dr. Kelly is a cool professor. Chemistry is a challenge, regardless of what professor is chosen. Her teaching is pretty straightforward and she is willing to help to comprehend the materials during class and office hours. My main suggestions is to take her on her TTH classes if possible and go to youtube if you need further comprehension.
This is where your GPA goes to die. THIS IS YOUR WARNING DO NOT TAKE HER. She goes over material like you already know it (in a 101 class) If you have questions she laughs them off. I will never take her again. You have been warned.
Dr. Kelley is a fast teacher, but it's recommended that you go to her after class or during your leisure time to try to get assistance with any help with things that you don't understand or grasp. Her teaching methods are great for a fast-paced learner and someone who participates. Weekly quizzes, test once a month, and final exam cumulative. Enjoy
She is a very fair grader, clear teacher & it was challenging but she helps as much as possible. She makes you work for the grade you want, if you study what she says, you'll be fine
Dr. Kelley is a nice woman, but she is not a good teacher. She gives quizzes every Friday in MWF lectures. She says to ask for help, but if you raise your hand to ask a question, she gets annoyed and acts like you're dumb for asking the question. She does not email back often and is hard to get a hold of outside of class. I do not recommend.
Funny
Dr. Kelly is a really nice person, but she struggles as a professor. She cannot convey the material well to students. She also uses power points made by the book company. Also, if you were to ask her a question, if it is not on the slide, she will most likely not know.
Go to class and do the homework and you'll be fine. Just go talk to her if you don't understand something and she'll do her best to clear it up for you.
Dr. Kelley is an amazing professor. She takes the time to explain everything in detail. Her tests and quizzes are difficult but not impossible. Do all of the homeworks and extra credit assigned and this will help you . You will know your stuff when you're finished with the class. Don't take her if you're not interested in chemistry.
Dr. Kelley herself is a very nice person but for Chem 102 she is tough and goes really fast. She doesn't like to stop and answer or explain much. She means well but it was like she tried to stuff so much information in a lecture period. Lecture is definitely heavy. Do lots of studying.
Do not take. Will not do any good. Weeder course, money maker.
Had her T/TH lectures & gave quizzes every TH so we really didnt have much to go off from other than the PowerPoints online from the book and homework
She was very fast when she explaining things and writing things down, even when asked to slow down. At one point told a girl to speed up instead. Even though I reached out to her and tried to speak after class, I was often left to fend for myself. I went to the tutoring center alot, got an A in lab, but still managed a C grade total. Avoid her.
This is your sign. Take somebody else. Please. Dont do it to yourself, I did it to myself and Im hurting. All she does is read the slides and gives corny jokes. Pretty much any other professor for this course wouldve been better. Thennn shell make it seem like the class is the problem and not her.
Had to drop the class to save my GPA. Isnt worth it. You can put everything in this and still fail.
She is the kind of teacher who lectures the basics and the hardest form of the problem is on the exam. You never know what to expect with her exams or quizzes but it feels like she is set out to make you fail. Really bad teacher. You don't really learn anything in her class you just try to stay afloat.
I had Kelley for fall'20 and she was absolutely HORRIBLE! She DOESN'T know how to teach. This class was full of math and she did not teach us how to do any of it. She said to my class that if she ever had to go to the hospital and had one of us as her doc, she would ask for someone else because we did not know our stuff. I wonder whose fault it is
Dr. Kelly is the toughest grader I have ever come across. It was impossible to make 100 on any of the lab reports due to her being so picky. She seems like she cares, but her grading and attitude says different. When you ask her a simple question, she acts like she does not want to help you. Overall, she made lab as hard as she could.
The Professor is okay; she just moves way too fast on class material, quizzes, everything. The exams cover way too much for a 50 minute period with multiple choice and write-in answers. The homework was helpful, but it doesn't count for much. There are quizzes every week usually Wednesday. My best advice; get a tutor and use practice worksheets
Dr. Kelley is a nice woman but not a very good lecturer. Youre going to have to rely on other sources to learn because she goes extremely fast. She Does Weekly quizzes and her exams are difficult.
Dr. Kelley gets a bad rap because of the difficult nature of the courses she teaches. Chem 101 is difficult to students with no prior chemistry experience. It can be an adjustment no matter the teacher. Dr. Kelley cares about her students and provides several ways to improve their grades such as participation points or dropping a lowest grade.
Dr. Kelley can be seen as a hard professor, she gives out a quiz every friday but if you put in the work and study for both quizzes and tests you will do good in her class.
Dr. Kelley is an excellent professor for what is a very difficult subject to most people. She can be a picky grader but it'll help you in the long run. There was a quiz every week, but she gave more than enough information to make sure students could prepare themselves. She loves in class participation, and the homework is easy and helpful.
Dr. Kelley really needs to reconsider her teaching methods. Our class started off with approximately 40 students, and it ended up with approximately 15 students. Sure, chemistry is a tough subject, but when you aren't given the resources to prove yourself that you can do well in the subject, it becomes a matter of artificial selection. Be warned.
Dr. Kelley is a great professor, and provides so many opportunities to pull up your grade in her class. The class itself is not the easiest, but if you get extra help, or go to her with questions, she will help you. She tends to go fast at times, but I would definitely recommend going to her office hours if you need more help.
She likes to add a lot of unnecessary information into her lectures and she puts way too much information on tests and quizzes.
Great overall. Some may complain about her going too fast, but it's a well paced class with clear expectations. A quiz each week, she gives you the exact topics that will be on it. Unit tests are every 2-3 chapters. Offers a chance to get resource points to boost your grades. Drops lowest test and quiz score.
Such a great teacher! I will recommend her lab to anyone. There is a lot of assignments given in lab and some of it is hard, but she is very helpful in office hours.
Dr. Kelley is not an easy professor! HOWEVER, you will come out of the class/lab knowing your stuff if you put in the effort. As long as you genuinely put in effort with Dr. Kelley, i think anyone can pass her courses (or at least this 111L in particular).
