She is so friendly and helpful! I can tell that she teaches because she wants to help people learn. She gives worksheets that have the all the types of problems you'll be tested on and goes over them in class. She's also very nice and approachable.

She's pretty nice and well organized. She's probably one of the best math teachers I've had. The only problem I have with her is that she doesn't ask if you understand after you ask her a question, she just explains it and moves on.

Ms. Lawhon's class is easy as long as you take the time to do your homework (for practice) and go to the math center or go directly to her for help (if you are confused). She gives a study guide for every test & the problems on the guide are the same concept as the ones on the test! Take her!

ok so I got all A's except one B on all her tests and straight As on the homework. did all the projects and never missed class..i get a 53 on the final and end up with a B in the class =( how fair is that?...other then that find someone who took her before, her tests are all the same.

i took her for mat1033 and again for mac1105. she is a great techer, no matter how bad you are doing she is always willing to go the extra mile to help you understand the material and to encourage you to pass her class. tests are not super hard and she gives study guides for each one but, they are based on homework. overall a really cool teacher

This was my first online course and I found it was very rewarding. My professor was extremely helpful and communication was excellent.I would highly recommend taking this class from professor Lawhon, she is a true asset to Valencia. She Is alway's available to help with problems in class, email and phone during office hrs. You will enjoy the class.

Took the course over the summer. This class was basically self taught via Plato on-line learning. Was a little disapppointed that there was not an extra credit opportunity like in the previous PLATO courses. However the instructor returned e-mails promptly and would be available for questions if needed. I got an A, but it was hard.

She is great and loves her student.I left math for my last be 4 graduation. She gave me tips,taught me things,made it easy and made it happen. I did this in a self paced class accidentally. This was an individualized class easy to do just keep up with your work and get it done. she's very nice. sometimes the material on the test was never done in the homework so it makes for an interesting test.

I took her online. The class was a challenge, but if you go to the SPA it really helps. Also, she gives you extra credit for going. The only bad thing I have to say is that when I had a question and went to go see her, it seemed as if I was bothering her and she didn't really want to help me. Expectations are clear, easy to follow online format.

Took this class last semester failed with a D. Took Lawhon got an A. Tests are easy problems taken right out of Test Study Guide. Even has Final Study which is pretty much the Final Test itself. All work is exactly what is needed to pass no extra pointless work. Best math teacher I've had. First time I pass Math with an A.

Took class online. very easy its self pace but she does have due dates. you can email her with any questions and she will quickly respond.

My only regret is that I did not take this teacher first for college algebra. I took this class 3 times, & if I had taken her first, I would have saved myself a lot of grief. Walked out with a B. her class should be "college algebra for dummies" because you just cant get any more clear than if you take Lawhon. Amazing teaching structure!!!

Ah College Algebra, the bane of all college students. Not so with this teacher. Professor Lawhon's online class was informative, engaging, she responds quickly and she is very helpful and understanding. I passed with a B. Her tests are not terribly difficult if you've done the work (I never did any of the PAN work) and the final is pretty fair. A+

OMG! I wish I would've taken her for the first try on the prep math! I finally passed the state test with her and it wasn't so bad. The online tutorials are great and easy to understand. I'm taking the same online format next semester for inter. algebra. Definitely take this class if you want to pass the state test.

This was an online class but she made herself available if there were any questions. All emails were answered quickly and there was a lot of opportunity for extra credit. I have struggled with math for years, but was able to finish this class with an A.

Nothing but good things to say. This was my first class after being out of school for over 20 years. Professor Lawhon was outstanding. The expectations were clearly outlined and she was always available for assistance, even during the holidays. Great experience. A+

She was really nice and understanding. I took it online so I don't know very much about her teaching skills. You just have to get the validation code and you work through the course on your own. However, she allows late work and responds very quickly and answers any questions you may have.

I would absolutely recommend Professor Lawhon. First, shes a fine dime thats top of the line in my book ;) second, she makes it easy to understand everything she teaches, and third her test are easy because she gives you practice test problems that are are the same types of problems on the test. I'd take her again. Def. clear and straight forward. Dont be late! She teaches the class a subject, assigns it for hw, and tells you which hw problems are on the test so no surprises. Once you do the hw its basically practice for the test. Try not to miss any classes.

Took her class for Math for liberal arts. layed back class. Great teacher. She moves at a decent pace. I am not math minded and passed with a B. She even drops your lowest test grade. More importantly she is diligent about communicating via email and posting grades on BlackBoard. She Grades test fast and gets them back to you the homework is easy.

I already had the textbook from withdrawing from my math class last semester. 3 attempts for homework, 2 attempts for tests at testing center, and a cumulative optional final. Ms. Lawhon is amazing. She sent an email reminding us of what we should be doing which was more than enough. Responds to emails quickly. TAKE HER!!

Professor Lawhon is the ABSOLUTE BEST! So helpful & understanding to her students. The course is designed for students to do well. Study guides for tests, HW has multiple attempts & counts as a test grade. You can get 5% Extra Cred on all 4 tests. Optional Final that replaces lowest test score. Easy B to A class. Took online dev math 2. I definately had problems with her being rude and snappy in emails, on almost every occasion talking to her. The class is easy though, no textbook, good pace. Plenty of opportunity to make up for bad grades. Drops the lowest test grade in place of the final grade. No textbook either.

She was very helpful and understanding, She also promptly replied to emails. Trust me, her classes are worth it. She makes all assignments VERY clear!

I took this class online and as long as you take the lesson on time and due the modules on time, you will be fine. The instruction will email you if you are in trouble of failing, but other then that, the weekly email should keep you update.

I hate math. And have NEVER scored an perfect A on a math test before. But Prof. Lawhon has a great clear way of explaining information. I got my first 100 on a math exam due to how clear she explains concepts. Do your homework and you'll be fine. Her reviews are similar to tests. I would take any math classes she teaches!

Professor is extremely organized and helpful. Very quick to respond to questions. Class work is very organized which makes it easy to follow along. My only complaint is the use of the Plato learning environment, it is a bit old. But Professor is OUTSTANDING!!!

She set clear guidelines, allowed you to take the quizzes as many times as you liked until you reached 100%, and she was responsive.

One of the most laid back classes I have ever taken. She is always in a good mood too. Professor Lawhon is very fair when it comes to your grade. Multiple attempts at hw, 3 attempts for quizzes and you can even take a test twice and receive the highest score with a calculator and cheat sheet. Plus, no final! Take her!

I took her hybrid math for the liberal arts. So sweet and nice and in a good mood every class! 5 chapters- all SO easy. unlimited homework tries, 3 attempts for at-home quizzes. and 2 attempts for test in the testing center. Class could not be easier even if she tried. You get a cheat sheet and calc to take in to the test center. HIGHLY recommend.

This class was very do-able- if you are able to teach yourself math. She was very organized and gave many videos for us to be able to adequately teach ourselves. She also emailed back within 24 hours.

She def makes you work for your grade! Took her Online class. Doesn't give extra credit . You have ample time to do homework and syllabus is laid out and as clear as can be! from day 1 you know whats due and when its due. You can work ahead and thats nice! 4 test and accumulative final. Homework has unlimited attempts !!!! If you are smart you will take pictures of the answers you got incorrect and redue the question. I'm not good at math and I got an A !!!

I don't know why people are giving her bad ratings . It's an online class but it's easy !!! Unlimited homework quizzes can be taken 3 times . If your confused go to tutoring once a week ! You do not need the textbook for Developmental Math, just the online testing site code! She took a while to reply to online questions and unequivocally did not care about any issues with the testing website. Overall the class wasn't too difficult, just be sure to stay on top of your deadlines and be ready to teach yourself math using the website.

The online course was very clear. She has made things easy to understand with multiple learning styles (video, step by step, and one on one help) She lets you take the tests twice which is awesome and she even opened back up the homework at the end for the people who didn't do it which she didn't have to do. I would definitely take her again.

She is very a very lenient teacher. She gives you two tries for the final and she opens up all homework assignments towards the end of the semester so that you can redo any you missed. i didn't like that we used Webassign because it doesn't let you practice enough but thats not her fault. def take her again

I took this class as a hybrid & its pretty simple. Everything is done through mymathlab & she is always willing to help in & outside of class. You have 5 test which you get 2 tries each & a whole page of notes as a cheat sheet. She also unlocks all assignments for a whole weekend and lets you turn in anything you missed for full credit! Take her!

Professor Lawhon is a solid math teacher. She knows what she's talking about, and always provides us with good resources. Her video explanations on YouTube are incredibly helpful. I took this class as a hybrid, and the majority of what we do is in MyMathLab. We don't ever really use the textbook.

Amazing professor. The best math professor i took in college. She goes over everything and makes you feel comfortable asking questions, she doesn't care if you're wrong or not she tells you why you're wrong and helps you along with any questions on tests, quizzes, hw. The class is pretty easy itself but with her its TOP NOTCH passing. Loved her.

I think the person who put the previous comment and I take the same class online! Actually Prof. Lawhon sent a general email because after 4 months taking this class online. Many of the students did not pass the final exam. Those students who did not pass the final exam asked for extra points on the last day of classes! Wao!

As this was a combined class there were 11 and 18 exercises per assignment. Her Syllabus is very clear and you know what expect. Of all the online classes that I have taken this has been the only one that I was not pressured to do the exams with time in the system. And you should only go to the testing center for the final exam. I recommend her!

Professor Lawhon was really great! I took her course online it was hard but if you put in the work it's fine. I ended up in the hospital toward the end of the semester and she REALLY worked with me. If she didn't i probably wouldn't have passed. Super understanding and I would definitely recommend her!

This class is as straight forward as it gets. If you study, you will pass. You pay to get an online book code for webassign and you complete the assignments. That's it. If you don't know how to read, don't take this class. If you are competent enough to take notes from a text book, you will pass with an A.

She is a very easy A. I took her hybrid class and All of the class material is learned through her online videos. She expects you to watch them before class and we review in person. Most of the class time was spent doing your homework or tests (all on mymathlab) however class participation was counted. If you are ever confused she will clarify.

Material was well-organized, easy to understand, and applicable to my life. Homework is unlimited retakes until the due date, quizzes are 3 retakes until due date, and there's only a few one-shot tests. It's really hard to fail if you put in the effort and do your work.

Im terrible at math and didnt do well with my last professor, I was a bit nervous to do this again. I took this course online and Professor Lawhon was 100 percent different than my last professor. Professor Lawhon reached out weekly and quickly responded to questions! I definitely recommend her!

This class contained a lot of weekly work that included lecture videos, power points and homework. If you stay ahead this class will be a breeze. There are a couple of tests but nothing too bad. The final is proctored so you will have to go take that in person. Other than that this class was easy.

If you are good at math and just need to take this course as a prerequisite then this is the professor for you. Almost the entire course is done through MML, which is easy if you are familiar with the program and website. Not difficult at all!

It is a math class. There is homework, and it is very manageable. Professor Lawhon does a very good job presenting the material via her videos. There is not a lot of reading. There are a couple of discussion posts and mini-assignments. The mini-assignments are a time sink and I think it would be better if they were eliminated.

Math was never my best subject (hence the grade) but this Professor made me understand the material being said and she takes time to make sure you understand the material. Also gives you changes to retake tests if you couldnt take it the day of. Amazing professor 100% recommend.

Her video lectures are good, clear, and translates perfectly to the hw, quiz, and tests. Normal amount of work mixed with a few mini projects and discussions, but it is all very much do-able. No late work but she allows for one whole makeup weekend towards end of sem. I def recommend her!

I loved Professor Lawhon! Never did I ever think I would get an A in a math class, it's my weakest subject. She was so good at teaching the material and laying out out clearly, she gives out all the notes that you need to thrive. The homework itself was a little silly sometimes and can get difficult if you don't study but she is very communicative.

All homework and quizzes were on Pearson, no Honorlock. In class, we would do group assignments. She was very hands-on, as someone who sucks at math, she would come and explain things while we did in-class work. She was also just very understanding and sweet
