Very easy to follow, friendly. Tests are easy for those who come to class regularly.
An understanding and supportive teacher. She grades in a very forgiving style; you're allowed to drop one test(no, not the final), extra credit assignments, late papers allowed (points taken off), and she's very accesable if you need help.
I didn't think this class was any kind of breeze class ms lee covered some great stuff. I spent alot of time studying. She's a great teacher and person to boot.....
Very nice teacher, presents her stuff extremely organized which makes it easy for test time. Tests arn't hard if you study. No assignments, grade is based on the exams.
She's new, fresh and smart. She does present her stuff very organized so you can study from your notes. If you study you will pass.
Great teacher, she trys hard and it is appreciated. Go to class and get a good grade.
I learned a lot from the books she selected. Her lectures are a bit boring however, she is a good and supportive teacher. Very fresh.
she gives great notes for you to use on tests, she did put me asleep a few times in her lecture, dont take the afternoon class if you have a full schedule. She's a great teacher i left felling alot smarter, need to study alot.
I love when you know exactly what your teacher expects from you. No surprises. She was also very well oganized when it came to her class lectures. Clean outlines and simple lectures.
Great teacher. Emphasis is on developmental psych. Great class and lectures. If you read the book you will get an A!
Good teacher easiest out of all the phyc teachers.Shes is helpful but the class is hard in general
A great teacher, she lets you know just what she expects, she prepares you very well for the tests, not hard, but not easy, I really enjoied he class
Pretty straightforward with her teaching. Uses an overhead and we just copy the outline from it. Study for the tests.
Such a great teacher, very clear, easy to take notes on, very nice, only 4 tests and she throws out the lowest grade, only one minor project, she makes this subject easy to understand, I would take a class from her again for sure.
she is a very nice teacher. a lot of notes, but they are helpful on the tests. if you do the reading, or some of it, look at your notes and take the practice quizes online you will do just fine on tests. there is one paper(easy), you need to take aprt in a research experiment(easy) and there is one extra credit(easy, good class, lets you out early.
I thought her outlines in class were very easy to understand and helped a lot when studying came around. Overal, she's hot, she's helpful, and she's hot. But seriously, she makes psych fun and she can teach the material very well.
As long as you study your notes and read the textbook, you should do well. Her lectures are really organized. She has a nice attitude and a warm personality. She is very clear about assignments.
while her tests were pretty easy and she is nice enough. she is too organized in her lectures. she doesn't allot time for questions and seems to get frustrated if things aren't exactly on schedule.
She's hot. That might distract you but it'll make you come to class. Her notes are well organized (READ: copy whatever is on the overhead, you'll be fine). And she sneaks in a few interesting moments and laughs once in a while. Very friendly. And HOT!

Wonderful teacher; friendly, openminded, organized and clear. I will always remember her child's toy; "Panda bears inside!"

Really nice woman. Very helpful, and very organized. The class is a lot of work, but she uses great examples and gives out barely any homework.
Very professional, clear, and to the point. Doesn't let the class become a high school class like other cabrillo teachers I've had. Always is sure to cover material and grades fairly. If you need something for area E, I highly suggest this class/teacher.
She is totally chill
She is well organized and makes her grading criteria clear. You need to read the book and take class notes to do well on her exams. She is very easy-going. Sometimes her lectures are boring, but she is very smart and a good resource for psych. questions.
I've taken three classes with her and she is consistently organized, professional, and concise in her lectures. Friendly to students and very helpful. However sometimes she is so straightforward in her lectures that it can be dry. Overall, an easy way to get through those lower division psych prereqs. Very fair grader. I recommend her.
Professor Lee's developmental class was very easy. The class was based on 3 out of 4 multiple choice exams, a short paper and the final. She gives you study lists and offers some extra credit.
She's extremely organized and gives very helpful notes for students to copy as a result. If you pay attention and take notes the class will be ...relatively easy.
This class was interesting and Lee is great. Her class has no homework except one paper that is pretty easy, but make sure to study well for exams.
she is wonderful!!
Nice teacher, her notes are clear. Tests are multiple choice and she gives you a study sheet which is very helpful. Do the readings and you will do fine.
SO SWEET! Probably one of the best instructors Cabrillo can offer. Such a gem and a pleasure to listen to.
Overall, she's okay. The class would be more interesting if she had a personality. She seems intelligent, but she could be more clear.
Very good class. She is awesome and very helpfull. No homwork and tests are not to hard. As long as you go to class you should coast through the class.
Easy class, lecture and text book based. One huge paper, but little restriction on what you have to write about. Incorporates movies and discussions into class. Very nice teacher.
Fantastic teacher! Lectures are clear, notes are easy to take. Book is interesting to read. Lee gives real life examples for every topic she goes over. She is extremely helpful and very organized. Two easy papers, one is extra credit. She provides study lists. I highly recommend taking any of her classes.
Mrs. Lee is awesome! I maybe opened my textbook once all semester, because her lectures cover so much of the material. That said, you should make it a point to attend every lecture and take good notes!
Class is well organized and and she knows the material very well. Take notes and do the reading assignments and you'll do well. The exams are easy and you should be able to knock out the 2 page research paper in a single afternoon. Very friendly and helpful.
She is a very sweet professor. She is crystal clear in her lectures and provides great notes. But to tell you the truth, I find this class extremely boring and not interesting at all. 3 best tests out of 4, one huge final paper, and 90 question final. Not to bad.
Prof. Lee is a TREAT. very smart & passionate about the subject. good lectures, real-life examples, answers any questions. graded on best 3 of 4 tests & final. TAKE GOOD NOTES, tests multiple choice but challenging. attainable "A" if you do the work & don't miss class or get notes from other student if you do. GREAT TEACHER & CLASS ! (hot too!)
Lee is not my cup of tea. Her teaching style is pretty much just putting things up on the overhead thats exactly whats in your book with no other outside examples. I really expected more from a psych teacher, it was a disappointment.
The overhead projections are really not my style. Information does not retain with me, class is dull when I thought Psych would be interesting, now I have absolutely no interest in it at all. She's a sweet lady, lectures could be more interesting though
This class really dowsed my interest in the psychology field.Everyday in class you just sit and take notes on the information in the book that she wants you to go over as homework anyway. The test are hard as well with common averages in the low 70%'s. If you want an informative and fun psychology class I would definitely recommend another teacher
To the people below me: this is rate my Professor, not rate my Class. Its Psych 1, there is a lot of info to cover & its not a hands-on class. Psych 1 (regardless of teacher) is a general lecture class. As for Lee, she did a good job giving examples & scenarios. Tests aren't easy nor hard; everything is in the book. The 2 assignments are VERY easy.
Pros on taking this class: Lee is nice, gives good real life examples, always on time and never missed a class. Cons: lectures are very dry. All the reading homework she assigns she goes over in lecture. Tests are hard. She doesn't like being interrupted with questions during her lecture.
she's a pretty cool teacher. lessons are given through lecture. she has an overhead and you just copy the notes. it's a fairly easy class. it's mostly a lot of memorizing. she only gives tests for credit and 2 other assignments so you have to study to do well. she doesn't really use the book, but once in a while she will refer to it.
A great prof. with niceness, humor, and professionalism. The class is a bit dull and one dimensional but if you like it straight forward she's the teacher. She's very helpful and has a lot of insight, and is not afraid to answer the tough questions.
Very clear in her lectures and the exams are extremely easy as long as you attend lectures/take your notes/do your reading. It's not hard to get an A. She is a major sweetheart and is super friendly/warm. Very easy to talk to/approach. Would love to take more psych classes from her if I had time! :)
I had her for 2 classes in the same semester and I think she is a great teacher. I took Intro to Child Development and General Psych. She is really nice and willing to help it is a psych class so its hard but worth it.
SHE IS A very nice teacher to say the lease. but her lectures are very dry, doesn't explain much. its been a very hard class for me to get. exams are hard she gives you a long study list.
her classes aren't too interesting. goes off of her overhead notes which come from book, but adds examples. tests are easy if you've paid attention and studied. very little homework. some extra credit. if you don't like sitting and listening to lectures and writing notes, then i wouldn't recommend, but it's an easy A if you have the patience.
She is AWESOME, so sweet, very helpful, she makes sure we all understand what she teaches in lecture, she let's us out early quite a bit:( but she is my favorite cabrillo teacher so far. The only B I got on one of her tests was because I hadn't paid any attention, but she drops your lowest score anyways! Take her class.
Absolutely useless teacher!I was so disappointed. She taught nothing,we had to teach ourselves through the textbook. There were trick questions on every exam (4 total + final), making it really challenging to get an A without a lot of guessing luck. She drops your lowest exam grade (big whoop, it means the exams are harder). The paper though is easy.
Great class. Lectures are easy to understand and effective, never had to open the textbook. Study list is long but thorough, if you complete it and study it the exams are easy. Dr. Lee herself is kind and professional. Extra-credit opportunity and drops the lowest test score. If you are diligent, there is no reason to get anything other than an A.
She was a very kind and helpful teacher, but I expected this going in to the class, as I had her for Psych-1 as well. I rarely used the book except to look at the diagrams and vocabulary. Her "trick" questions on the test usually pertain to the images in the text. She is very responsive through email if you need help. Go & take notes, you'll pass!
Great teacher! Didn't use much of the textbook because her lectures were so clear; I felt like it wasn't necessary to use it. Although it can be boring at times, it is a lecture class so that's what you can expect. She's a sweet teacher and I feel like she is on the students' level. Awesome teacher, would highly recommend!!
Her lectures can be pretty boring at times but she really takes her time to explain things. Super sweet and was a good class overall.
The overhead projecture lectures are vague and come off as boring. She seems to merely outline the textbook readings in these lectures and only goes in depth for 1 or 2 key topics per lecture. I don't find study guides for exams to be very helpfull. They seem to just outline the text as well. Overall I would consider this a textbook based class.
Her class is pretty basic and a bit boring. It's pretty much just a slide show lecture. However, she is a really nice, funny and fair teacher. You don't have to read the text but it helps if you do. Pretty much everything that's tested is in lecture. She gives 4 exams, a cumulative final, a paper, and some extra credit.
Jen is such an amazing teacher, all her lecture material is so clear and concise, you know exactly what will be on the tests. Plus you can either skip a test or she will drop you lowest score. As long as you go to class and take notes it's almost impossible to fail her class. Would definitely take another one of her classes
Class is very straight forward. 5 tests including the final and 1 one page paper. That is the entire course. Tests are multiple choice. The class is 100% read, review, test which for me kills all motivation to go to class since all the material will be in the readings. Expect to read about 1000 pages of text if you actually do the assigned reading
I had a very hard time with Jennifer's style of teaching. I feel that she teaches Psych 1 at a Psych 10 level. It seemed like she was throwing in unnecessary information. Like the structure of a neuron... I understand that neurons have to do with psychology, but it was hard to connect the two. She is EXTREMELY detailed & tedious.
Let's get down to it. What Jennifer tests on ISN'T ONLY what she lectures on. READING IS REQUIRED to pass this class. She picks obscure facts out of the text book to test on. Her lectures are good and she explains everything fairly well. Take laptop to class for notes or record lecture. Overall topics were very interesting.
Lee is very excited about psychology. She is obviously very knowledgable, and tries to make lecture exciting. But her way of lecturing (outlines) makes me want to fall asleep. If you are not a good note-taker, or are going to miss class, do not take a class from Lee. 1 paper, 4 tests, final is cumulative, and 2 observations at the child lab.
Lee's a fair teacher. The exams are pretty much all the lecture notes, I didn't read any of the material out of the textbook and did very well on the exams. Do not take her if you will be missing class. She's very clear in class, repeats herself, and one of my favorite lecture based teachers. There is 1, 2 page paper and extra credit offered.
she talks very fast and you can tell she is very enthusiastic about her subject, but its ALL lecture. 4 tests (she drops your lowest test grade), an easy 1page paper, and a final. Tests are hard defiantly study, but her study guides are pretty spot on. DONT MISS CLASS!! I've only used the textbook 2 or 3 times defiantly not necessary.
Very nice teacher, tries her best to be as clear as possible. Found class to be a bit boring, power points were not very helpful, study guides were long lists. Textbook reading is mandatory to get 100% on tests. Class participation matters, 4 exams + final. 1 paper, 2 observations. E.C. opportunities.
You definitely need the textbook! Go to all her classes and read the assigned chapters before class. There are 5 multiple choice exams( including cumulative final), 1 interview paper(5-6pg), and 2 child observations. Although there are only 265 pts in the class, she gives extra credit(5 pts) and drops lowest exam score-not the final.
Enjoyed the class very much! She made this topics interesting and relatable with real life example and thorough discussion. The tests were simple as long as you took your note taking seriously and read the chapters covered. You get plenty of opportunity to make the best of your grade in this class.
Just pay attention, take notes, and really really study
Lee is a very good teacher. She knows her stuff and is very clear explaining it to students. Lectures take up pretty much the whole class period but she does show home videos and clips to keep it entertaining. She gives an exam about every 2 weeks but the only homework is reading for the exams. Would definitely take her class again, it's an easy A.
Lee is a great teacher! She gives a lot of examples for everything we learn and relates it to life. You only need the text book for studying before a test. There's only four test, one research paper, and the final. As long as you study for each test its an easy pass.
Super super nice. Lecture covers basically everything on tests and there is no homework aside from lots of reading. If you aren't good at testing this may not be the class for you as your grade is mostly test scores.
I really enjoyed her class and her teaching technique. She makes the information stick. She is also really into star wars:)
Hands down my favorite teacher at Cabrillo! She made me fall in love with psychology. Tests are straight forward and easy if you attend lectures and read the textbook. Lectures can be long and boring, but they are incredibly clear and helpful.
Lecture and exam heavy class. Can be a little unclear during lecture. Doesn't always answer your questions. However, if you ask for help, she'll be more than happy to do so. Not the easiest class, you do have to work for it but it's not impossible to get an A or B. There is a lot of reading assigned and you do need to take LOTS of GOOD notes.
There are 4 scheduled tests and the final. She drops your lowest test score. You get study guides for every test, even the final day one! You can either remember from your lecture notes or buy book but book is not mandatory. All you have to do is memorize the terms on study guide. Plus, now she has a TA who holds classes and makes its so fun & easy
Jennifer is an okay teacher, her exams are not difficult (all multiple choice) but her lectures are not very interesting. She has a couple of observations and a paper at the end of the semester that is worth 2 points. As long as you study the material the class should be a piece of cake.
Easy A, if u study, she doesn't like ?'s though. No homework, 1 paper, 1 extra credit paper, 4 exams 50 pts each, the final which is 50 new material ?'s, and only 40 ?'s that are previous material. drops lowest exam score. Study guides are spot on for exams. As long as you know whats on study guide, ur golden. all questions are from lecture.
Jennifer is super sweet. Her lectures are clear and she's willing to answer any questions you have. It's a lot of memorization and her lectures help clarify the reading. She's a great choice for psych and i'd definitely take this course if i could again!
Jennifer Lee is a great psych teacher! This class can be hard but if you do the reading and show up each class you will pass. She gives study guides for the tests that are spot on. Lots and lots of lecture and notes but she makes it interesting. I would definitely take her again!
I really enjoyed this class. There was a lot of fascinating material to apply to every day life and she was great at explaining it. The only downside was the amount of reading and the fact that there's no other homework to turn in, so almost all of your grade will be based on exam scores.
Doctor Lee is really a sweet lady. She is enthusiastic about her subject! Personally this class was difficult for me. The grade is soley based off 5 exams. There's no homework. So if you're one that doesn't study for exams don't take this class! It's a lot of material to absorb so take lots and lots of notes and good notes.
Straight forward class. 4 exam plus final, she drops lowest exam score. All exams are based off lecture. You do not need to do the reading to get an A. She lectures very fast though and doesn't really like to answer questions. Her assistant helped me a lot! If you need extra help, take Lee so you can get the extra help from the TA and her classes.
Dr. Lee is an amazing teacher! Grades rely heavily on tests but if you come to class and study the reviews that are given, take good notes, the test are a breeze and I do not test well. I unfortunately had to drop the class a month before the end of the semester but am looking forward to taking her class again. Dr. Lee makes the class interesting.
She is a great teacher, very funny. Everything you need to pass the class is in her lectures, so take notes!!! You won't pass without them. She can talk a little faster than you can take notes so I recommend voice recording her lectures on your phone so you don't miss anything. and all of her tests are multiple choice.
She seems like a nice person, but the class itself is too fast-paced and concentrated. The first exam alone (on week four) has 40 topics. I feel overwhelmed even as a straight-A student. The book is rubbish, so I only read definitions in the footnotes. I started studying before the first class, and am barely keeping up. If you have a job, no time.
Dr. Lee was a kind teacher with great energy. I felt fully prepared for each exam due to her comprehensive study guides. She assigned engaging activities that brought the subject matter to life.
Recipe for an A: Good notes, and read (not just captions and definitions, she does those in class). To know what to read, the study guide will let you know (when cant be found in lecture notes). Ppl complained in reviews about not answering their question, because they are unnecessary questions for beginning psy. I see it in class everyday -.-
If you are looking for an interesting, engaging, or thought provoking class, this is NOT it. If you don't want to use your brain and simply want to memorize and regurgitate, this is the class for you. Very easy and straight forward but also the most boring class I've taken. She cares about her students but would be better off teaching grade school.
I loved this class. Attending the class and taking detailed lecture notes turned out to be all I needed, and though there is assigned reading, she covers everything you need to know during class time. Still learned a lot, but with minimum homework, which is a plus for me. Had not taken any psychology classes before, but this class corrupted me!
Her class is graded mostly on texts (4 exams, 1 final). She will drop the lowest exam score. You only have to do one research paper, but she lets you turn another one in for extra credit. GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES! READ THE TEXTBOOK! No homework at all other than reviewing your notes and reading the textbook. She is a good teacher to learn from.
Jennifer is a good teacher and nice but her class can be confusing. You go to class and she lectures the whole time. Her tests are pretty difficult at least for me. Her study guides are confusing. She gives you all this work to study but then says it "might" be on the test, like just give us what we need to study not randoms stuff.
This class is 90 percent memorizing terms, and I think thats why people have a hard time with the class. Jennifer was a good professor, gave us the material we need and didn't assign basically any hw except one paper. But, if you're not good with memorizing vocabulary, PSYCH 1 with Jennifer may not be the class for you.
Ms. Lee is a great teacher. Anyone who complains that her tests are too hard is just not studying. She gives study sheets that give everything that will be on the test. The night before a test I would simply go through my notes and look over everything on the study sheet for like 1-2 hours for an A. Take the notes and show up and you'll do great
Jennifer is awesome and should instruct the other professors on how to make study guides, write clear test questions, and have clear sensible grading criteria. I have no idea what Jennifer and the rest of the board or people in charge have not replaced David Douglas. So many students have complained about him. Read his reviews, he is horrible!
Jennifer gives good lectures. She covers everything clearly and gets to the point. You can easily get through this class without doing all the reading but you have to pay attention and take good notes in lecture. Also, there's almost no homework. She makes psychology interesting for anyone and encourages questions.
If you didn't take Psych 1 with her you won't liker her class. Her lectures suck, she has chapter outlines and you have to hear everything she says and if you miss something you're done. She is loud, not in a good way, and doesn't understand that most people haven't taken a psych class in years. The exams are your only grade so good luck
Dr. Lee is a fantastic professor. She has study guides with everything you need to know on her website. There is a "required" textbook that I have barely touched, so just take good notes and you'll be fine. Theres 4 multiple choice exams and she drops the lowest one, theres 1 essay, and an optional extra credit paper. Easiest class I've ever taken
Jennifer Lee was the worst teacher I've had at Cabrillo. She is extremely frantic and awkward and was rude when it came to questions asked by students. I learned basically nothing. I was actually looking forward to a class where we discuss different psychological theories and opinions, but instead it was just memorize this and regurgitate that.
She relies heavy on the textbook, does not teach good. She expects you to learn everything from the book. She's awkward and stops mid-sentence to laugh & then stares at the class . She does not explain herself well. Honestly did not learn anything in this class, basically a waste of time. I would not recommend if you actually want to learn somethin
Jennifer makes the class engaging and the tests accurately reflect both lecture and text. She allows amazing opportunities to observe children and overall is just an genuinely enjoyable person to be taught be.
Not engaging boring lecture l out of an outline. Students arent welcomed to participate.
I took developmental psych with her. The lectures are bland and her study guides are never 100% inclusive of the material which is really frustrating. She just assigns exams and one paper, and the exams are difficult but still multiple choice.
Dr. Lee is a wonderful teacher. I took her class during the COVID 19 pandemic, and she became a great support system both academically and emotionally for all of her students. She gives great lectures that are easy to follow, and her tests are really straightforward if you study.
Dr. Lee is a warm and thoughtful instructor. She is very passionate about psychology and it definitely shows in her responses to questions/comments/concerns and assignments. She provides you a clear outline of what to study for each module, but it's important that you have a basic understanding of other concepts mentioned in assigned chapters.
She does test heavy, I mean 5 exams plus a large final exam, you have so many papers to write which is expected. You have to watch videos and read the textbook in order to pass! she is a very kind professor and will help whenever she can. She does have it so you can miss 1 assignment, 1 quiz, and 1 exam but will not allow makeups for exams!
Dull short lectures, mostly crash course content. The readings are the main focus. 30 minutes of recorded material each week, with a quiz and assignment due Sunday, sometime with an exam due too. You don't get to view your exams after taking them which makes it hard to learn from mistakes. Grading is very forgiving and the teacher is very kind .
Very caring and warm professor.
Professor Lee cares a lot about students and is knowledgeable about what she teaches. Her assignments and coursework are straightforward. Exams are primarily on textbook reading and she only gives 60 minutes for 50 questions. Overall it's a fun and doable class! I wish her lectures had notes on the slides rather a blank slide with just her talking.
Weekly quizzes, discussions, and essays (that she seriously did not grade for MONTHS); one of each are allowed to be dropped. Lectures consist of her talking over static images for a few minutes, but mostly are of YouTube/Crash Course videos. Exams rely HEAVILY on the reading. Was a completely absent professor, but seemed kind and is an easy A.
If you like crash course this is the class for you. It was okay. It was a lot of YouTube videos. I know it's an online course but I think there was a lack in effort for planning course material. Plus the tests felt unnecessarily difficult at times. Though I will say the nice thing was you got once assignment from each category dropped.
Steady pace, class discussions, friendly teacher
Professor Lee was amazing! Super fast grader and what was expected for each assignment was very clear. Most of the material we used for our assignments was in the book and it was only a chapter a week which is extremely doable if you take some time to do it! Really good at responding to emails and clarifying anything you need!
Professor Lee is great. She makes it easy to get an A. She does use crash course as others stated, but I love crash course and find it helpful. She has over 200 students so grading takes some time but just be patient. Easy A.
Lots of exams/quizzes and lots of reading from the textbook, plus about 2ish hours of videos. You really have to prepare for exams since they are timed, but you can't see what you got wrong. Great exam policy though and really easy grader when it comes to assignments and discussions. I highly recommend you take her class :)
Almost all course material is directly taught from the textbook or TED Talks & CrashCourse YouTube videos; the professor is superfluous b/c she only contributes personal anecdotes related to the readings. The class is designed around point-accumulation (from hw, discussions, quizzes, exams), so prepare for a lot of assignments & a semester project.
Kind enough professor, I imagine she must have quite the number of students-papers do not get graded for 1.5+ months. Not a fan of how the work is compiled/structured--she has a quiz, a test, and a paper all due on the same day. I found the tests to be worded oddly/minimal time to take it and repeat questions, you cant even see what you missed.
Strengths: Dr. Lee was very kind, weekly papers were 2 pages double spaced, subject matter was simple. Cons: TEST HEAVY 6 exams, weekly quizzes (total of like 16) weekly papers---minimal to no time on your exams. She frontloads on your exams weeks, and 6 exams is completely unnecessary and unfair
Straightforward class, lectures were clear, concise, and easy to understand. Class is almost entirely dependent on scores from tests every 2 weeks, but as long as you pay attention, take notes, and do the readings, it is an easy class to pass!
Engaging lectures with a caring professor. Tests cover lecture and textbook material. Lots of assignments, but using resources like Unstuckstudy helps with study prep.
Her class isn't difficult if you read the textbook, take notes, and study. She doesn't assign any homework, so whatever you get on your exams is your grade. She didn't allow us to use notes or anything for the exam. The good thing is that the exams are multiple choice. Overall, she is a good teacher; she talks a lot though, but she's nice.
