This proff is ridiculous!! Not only does she not know how to teach, but SHE gets confused while she's teaching!! Avoid this class completely!! It's impossible!!

she got confused during notes she assigned different problems for the same homework on different days, there were mistakes on her tests, she seemed afraid of us the class was horrible at 8 in the morning

Do NOT take Math 141 with her. During class she often starts problems and then has no clue how to finish them. She does not do a good job explaining anything, and her tests are therefore difficult.

I would not recommend taking Math 141 with Dr. Lewis. In class she goes through problems in ways that she doesn't even know how to complete or explain to the class. Her tests are completely different than what she teaches in class, they are also very short which is not good for the already hard to understand curriculum.

She's an awful professor. She never seems to know what she's talking about. Half way through class she'll realize everything she's done is wrong and she'll start over, so basically we learned nothing that day. The homework is pretty doable but you have to teach yourself how to do it and doesn't help for the tests. Avoid this professor.

Avoid Lewis at all costs! I went from AP Calculus into this class and the material itself is not difficult, if she would actually teach it to you. You're completely teaching yourself out of the book and she's confused most of the time. The homework and quizzes are easy since they're take-home, but don't prepare you for the test at all.

Dr. Lewis was a terrible teacher. I barely made a C in her class. I was constantly going to tutoring and office hours every week and never understood anything. She was never clear in class and confused everyone. She even confused herself in class and never knew how to do any problems. She was also very unorganized. Do not take Lewis. DO NOT!!!!!!!!

If you aren't extremely strong in math DO NOT take Lewis. She seems like a sweet lady but can not teach at all. Most of the time she spends half the class going over one example then realizes she doesn't even know how to solve it. Super hard to follow. I was in tutoring all the time. When I went to her for help she said sorry q drop my class.

She is the sweetest lady and is available outside of class but she is not a good professor. She does not give notes and the ones on her website don't match the lecture. She is very unorganized and I learn more when I skip class and study on my own. Do not take if you have not had calc before. There is no extra credit and the tests weigh a lot.

She is a very nice woman, but cannot teach to save her life. She spaces out in class, often screwing up the problems, which only confuses you more. Her tests are very poorly written, and if you do not teach yourself or seek outside help, you will not learn in this class. Do yourself a favor and do not take her.

While she is helpful outside of class, her lectures do not match the homework, her tests do not match the reviews and I would not recommend. She is a super sweet lady and will respond to emails at any time of the day. I am not too good at math, but if you take her you need to be ready to self-teach.

DO NOT TAKE JENNIFER LEWIS' MATH 141!!! she is a very kind lady but cannot teach any math- not even to students who REALLY understand math, like this was the worst class I've taken. She posts class notes but they are blank and even if you go to class and take notes- it is still useless. The TA was rude and not very helpful at tutorial sessions.

Jennifer Lewis a very sweet lady but as a professor I do not recommend her at all. Unless you are a math genius, her class is extremely difficult. She doesn't teach and often asks the students if she's doing problems right, messes up simple math and is technologically challenged. Her tests are nothing like her reviews or the homework.

Awful. I typically consider myself good at math, and I struggled. I went to tutoring everyday. She makes no sense in her lectures, confuses not only her students, but also herself. ALWAYS double check your tests when you get them back because I don't think one of my tests were graded properly. Take this class elsewhere if possible.

WHAT A MESS. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Her lectures leave you even more confused than when you walked in, her tests do not match the reviews, and the final exam was poorly written with confusing questions. AWFUL.

Professor Lewis is the most incompetent math teacher I have ever had. She constantly messes up when working out problems in lecture. The lectures will confuse you more than they will help. The exams are nothing like the material learned in class. She makes it way more difficult than it needs to be. Avoid this professor at all costs.

I am a business major and mistakenly thought that Math 141 was easier than math 140. 141 is much harder, and taking 141 with Lewis made it even harder. She is a very sweet old lady, however, she is a very confusing and easily confused prof. She is hard to understand, and most things on the review are not on the test.

Very disorganized and confusing lectures, I would not recommend taking this course with her. She is a nice lady as everyone says but it's impossible to learn with her teaching style and the homework/reviews do not match the exams.

It is very hard to understand the lectures. There would be many emails sent out after class saying that she did the problem wrong. The best way to understand her lectures is to do the homework before you walk into class. Tutor John is a must in this class. The reviews for the test answers are wrong so you will learn the material wrong for test.

Professor Lewis really is a nice lady. But she taught me absolutely nothing about math. The ONLY reason I got the grade I did in her class was because I was at tutoring twice a week starting the first week of class. My advice is to take another prof, take it somewhere else, or just prepare to teach yourself or go to a lot of tutoring.

Although she did offer lots of outside tutoring and reviews, which I went to multiple times a week, I barely passed this class. Do yourself a favor and take this over the summer. She doesn't teach you how to do the math, but instead just does the problems in front of you and hopefully you can catch on. This class will take a lot of outside work.

Please do not take this class. Took her and the exam average was 60 and below. Learned pretty much everything going to the TA sessions because you can't understand her at all.

She seems like a nice lady but is honestly the worst teacher I've ever had. Overall class average for all exams were in the 60s and the second test alone had an average in the 40s. If you do take this class you are hopefully good at math or have a great tutor.

Dr. Lewis is not a good lecturer, in any way shape or form. However, Math 141 is a mixture of Algebra 1 and basic stats, therefore anyone who is willing to put forth the effort will succeed. The number one thing to do is get familiar with the TA, as they are a great asset for homework and test review. Terrible teacher, easy A.

The material is mostly easy but Prof makes it really hard. Go to class, read text book, do extra problems, see TA, and most importantly look for other professors notes online! This is how I made it through the class. First and third test are easy, second test is really hard so study. Thought I was going to fail but she gives a lot of extra credit.

As many others have mentioned, the course material itself is not hard. However, as a senior who took this class, I can vouch that the professor is absolutely the worst at delivering the material for students. She would mess up in the middle of the lectures. Get ready to learn from the book and posted notes/WIR from other professors.

Prof. Lewis is the worst professor that you will ever take at A&M. Every Exam had an average of below a 60%. She does not how to explain properly and confuses you even more if she tries to explain it more. In the end she realized that half the class was failing and had dropped it, so she gave us a bonus quiz. All in all, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!

I am not good at math and this professor did not help. Her lectures are confusing and she gets lost frequently in her own lecture. Also, has major difficulties running the projector which takes up class time. Honestly, worst professor I've taken since I've been at A&M.

This was the hardest classes I have ever taken. Her lectures were everywhere and no one understood what was going on. I went to every single class and it didn't help. I ended up using another teachers notes to figure out what was going on. Get another teacher if you can. If not, go to tutoring! TA's were a godsend.

Nice person, bad teacher. her lectures were hard to follow and she was just really confusing. The more she explained the more confusing. The first exam is really easy, basic algebra, so get a 100 if you can because the next exams are extremely hard, the 3rd is not so bad. Test average was in low 50s-60s, but tried to kind of curve class.

She can do math for hours but as soon as you ask her a question she gets really confused. She usually works the problems a different way each time she goes over them instead of showing one way to work them multiple times which leaves students confused. If you do not have to take this class then don't take it. One of the worst classes to be in.

Jennifer Lewis is the worst professor I have ever encountered. She is the most scatter-brained person I have ever come across. Not a single one of her lectures was well organized. Her online notes look like chicken scratch. Don't waste your time going to her office hours just getting a tutoring season pass, you'll need it. DON'T TAKE HER!

She does a horrible job at explaining complicated problems. She often just talks about problems without explaining what they mean or how to do them. Her office hours are not very useful since nearly everyone in class goes to them since they also don't have any idea how to do the problems. The tests are also very difficult.

I really tried to like Dr Lewis and actually learn from her, but I learned the material from doing the homework. She tends to make things confusing and makes things seem a lot harder than it actually is. I definitely feel as if I had a different professor I would have done better and wouldn't have ended up Q-dropping the class.

Lewis is such a sweet lady and would make a great grandmother. But math professor?... not so much. She doesn't teach instead she just does examples but doesn't say how she got it.

Unless you REALLY know your math, do not take Lewis. I went to tutoring, did the week- in- reviews, read the textbook, looked at another professors notes, did all of her online practice exams, went to her for an extra practice exam, and still failed every exam. She does not explain well or even finish her problems in lecture. Take another prof.

She is a very nice woman, but as a professor, she isn't really what you'd want. She's fairly disorganized and doesn't do a good job explaining how to do most of the problems presented. Her explanations made you feel more confused instead. I literally had to teach myself and just went on YouTube for help as her lectures weren't even helpful.

Professor Lewis is a nice lady but not an effective teacher. I had learned the material in high school and somehow UNlearned it through her lectures. I had to use another professor's notes to learn the material myself and try to ignore her lectures because they made me worse off. Luckily, she replaces the lowest exam with the final and a bonus quiz

I had to use other teacher's notes and reviews to do the homework and then her tests are nothing like the homework at all. She does let you correct quizzes which is nice but this class is really difficult even if you are good at math.

I had to q drop this class because I just couldn't do it. The subject was relatively easy, but for someone who is bad at math, Prof Lewis didn't really help much. I went to the week in reviews and even got outside tutoring. Going to class to take notes made me even more confused. Teaching style just wasn't for me, but she's a really sweet lady.

Rearrange your entire schedule before you take the professor. She is a very sweet and funny lady but she is the worst professor I have ever had. Lewis is not a good professor in that she has very unorganized notes and its difficult to follow what she is saying. I feel like she never really gives steps on how to do something, she just shows one or two examples. Class is kind of a waste of time if you google how to do things. This class was the most stressful class of my life. She is nice and funny, but I struggled with this class the most. Her lectures make no sense because she constantly gets off topic and is not clear in lecture AT ALL. tests are also hard too. So if youre not a math person, take someone else that will be able to teach the content better.

I have a passion for math. Getting concepts isn't difficult for me. But in her class, I'd be failing if I weren't getting extra help. She doesn't explain well, she's not passionate about her teaching, and it's costing half of my class a passing grade. A poll was done within the class, and we found over half the class is literally failing her class.

More than once, she made up a question in class or on a test that she realized couldn't be solved or didn't have the correct answer. It really doesn't seem that she knows much what she is doing. I am good at math and this class made me struggle.

Jennifer Lewis is a wonderful person who really cares about her students. She's very accommodating and kind. Unfortunately, she's just not a very good professor for calc 3. There were multiple instances where she would start a problem, realize she didn't know how to finish, and give up. The test review keys were always posted with several errors.

Shell read what she writes instead of explaining. Other profs here give extra credit, professor lewis doesnt curve or give extra help. Avoid having her.

Amazing lady, and it shows she loves what she does. However shes not the best professor for math. Quizzes are relatively okay if you study, but be ready to learn on your own because her lectures do not teach you much. Everything is basically self taught, and attendance is not mandatory. I learned more from my TA and her. Not the best "teacher"
