She was a wonderful teacher and very helpful.
I looove prof mannino!!she was so helpful and definitely knew what she was teaching. her test were a little hard, but she definitely prepares you for nursing and nclex questions.
Prof. Mannino is great. Pay attention during lecture because every word is important. Get a recorder. Then review the same topics in the TB, & you will do fine. She wants people to do well & will even review ur project b4 its due, so that you can make corrections. She is a great teacher, and a down-to-earth and lovely person.
good teacher.. her exams are little hard... good spirit. could intimidate you... just focus in the class...
Extremely smart and knowledgeable. The class is very hard but you will know your stuff if you have her and pay attention. Read the text, do all the assignments and use critical thinking. She's very approachable and will work with you. I am very thankful I had her and given the choice would have her again.
THE BEST!!!!!! One of the best professors/teachers I've ever had period. She loves the profession and it comes through in her teaching. She is an asset to Molloy and to nursing as a profession.
she is a unreasonable person with an unreasonable grading style. brought down my gpa. I do not recommend taking her.
Professor Mannino is very nice and she's always available for extra help especially with the math, she one the hardest pharm professors at molloy so if u need a break take someone else
One of the best professors i have ever had. This is a very hard class but you leave knowing ALOT of information. Prof.Mannino is always willing to help esp. with the math. You will work very hard in her class but it pays off in the end.. great professor!!
stuck up doesn't care about students
Pharm. she sucks pick someone else half of the stuff she teaches you , will be forgoten..she will load you up w/ tons of info that is pointless to some degree as if you dont have other classes to worry about, good luck if you take her!!!
very hard teacher but very fair u come out knowing everything needed for you RN license. Extremely helpful, will be available for u when needed. Explains everything. This is a hard subject and she makes the best with it. Very intelligent teacher. If your looking for a walk in the park this is not the teacher. If u want to learn then she is the ONE.
Very organized. notes are clear. NOT at all hard. looks scary but she is sooo nice! As with any other nursing class you HAVE to study. Tests are not tricky. She breaks down the math to the simplest way to understand- it's simple math anyway- she just does not give much time for quizzes. Would DEFINITELY take her again!
such an amazing person!although at first looks intimidating she is understanding and approchable. i had her as both a professor for pharm and as an advisor. although her test are a little on the tough side just make sure you study! your going to the need the information for pharm 2 and the rest of your career. but she is always willing to goovertes
if youre no good at basic math, get a tutor and you will be set! otherwise, study study study! not a lot of material covered so not a heavy load to study! helpful professor but rushes. very strict with math rules and expects students to know a lot! take her, she will teach you well!
she expects more than the other pharm professors do, but you will come out of her class well prepared. Her tests are not hard, she is a fair grader. The tests are straight forward and cover exactly what she tells you on her outlines...gives homework and written assignments to bring your grade up...shes a really good nurse, you will learn alot.
She's very helpful-if you struggle with math, get a tutor! The paper & her ATI h.w. help boost your grade. She gives quizzes in the beginning of class-just practice out of math for meds and you'll do fine. Her tests aren't that bad either-just study.
nice professor who's willing to help so her students pass.If you're not good at math get a tutor and you'll do fine.ATI and the paper will help boost your grade.Just study from the notes you take in class and you'll do fine
she is a hard professor. she knows her stuff and will make you know yours. its a nursing fundamntals course so it requires alot of work and alot of reading but its totally worth it.
i wouldnt take again! she gives over the board information. Shwhat she's e know doing but we are nursing students not Med students.not the best organization but if you want a challange she's for you!
she is THE BEST. don't listen to people saying oh she's hard oh she's this-she knows her stuff and you will LEARN. nobody wants to be looked at as a dumb nurse. yes you have to study but who said nursing school was easy? she is definately not impossible to pass..she is clear and easy to approach. LOVE HER
She is a great teacher but her tests are hard. I am an A student and I had a lot of trouble keeping up with all of the studying. Take advantage of the the homework and the paper, they are real grade boosters. She gives no extra credit, don't even ask. Go to class ready to take notes and read textbook before class, it will help.
she was very helpful in fst. gives homeworks and projects which are so pointless in a getting accustomed to the college but hey her class is an easy 100. just follow the syllabus. Doesn't really grade the material but grades on wether or not u followed all her guidelines.
I have no words to explain how horrible of a teacher she is. She doesn't make any effort to help her students and shes rude. She almost encouraged me to drop out of the nursing program because she makes her students feel incapable of doing anything. Her tests are impossible. Her grading is bogus. Please run in the other direction.
Tests are extremely hard. Math quizzes, ati tests, and paper will save your grade so do well! Very confusing when teaching! Not helpful if you are confused, she just gets mad. Tells you to know 30 medications for one test but only a handful are on, including ones that weren't taught. When it comes to numbers, she tells you different from the book
Difficult class in that its fundamentals of nursing, the first nursing/clinical course of the students' career- a lot of info to be learned, with good reason. To be a safe, efficient nurse, you have to know these things. She is organized, easy to understand, fair, and clear about expectations and will help you on your way to becoming a good nurse.
This woman ruined my life! I regret taking her. She is not helpfull at all had to repeat the class and got an A with another professor and didn't try much. She wants you to know doctor material not recommended!
If Prof. Mannino teach every nursing classes i would take her, she is crystal clear, show up organize and ready to make you an amazing nurse, show up listen take notes, Study and you will do well,, and practice ur math of course, no matter how smart you are, u have to put work in to pass any class, so study and listen, J Mannino all the way.
Horrible professor!!!!!! Run the other way! Not helpful whatsoever. It's a fundamentals course not a doctor course. I feel bad for who takes her!!!!!
must attend all classes.. read the textbook and have it during class and highlight what she says. tests are not easy. all of the test questions are application. do all ati homework it will help your grade. good teach but the class is hard. don't talk during her class you will get on her bad side. always meet with her to go over the tests.
be ready to study!!!
Extremely hard tests. She is rude and unapproachable. She made people cry. Shes very tough but teaches you a lot. I would take someone else.
She is a great professor over all but failed me by less than a point .
She is not a professor that is going to hold your hand and walk you through it, she is tough but she knows what she's doing. This is one of the hardest semesters of the program and is designed to cut out the weak. Her exams are not that hard if you STUDY. Do exactly what she tells you and you will have no problem doing well in this class.
Her exams are EXTREMELY HARD, not all multiple choice, some fulling-ins and gives you a case study in it! , and doesn't prepare you well enough for it! if you can not avoid taking her then try taking less classes with her and get a tutor ! she applies a lot of information and chapters for you to read that doesn't apply on her exams.
Professor Mannino is a very hard professor and nearly half the class will complain they are failing and blame it on her. Except, it is not her fault. If you READ the textbook as she says it is capable to pass and pass exceptionally. If students said they read the textbook and fail, they are lying. If you are ready to work hard you can take her.
Prof Mannino rushes through lecture and lab. She is not opened to questions and sometimes gives you the wrong information. She does not guide you on any study material prior to exams but expects you to know it. Be warned that there are short answers including nursing interventions, rationales and assessments that you need to prepare for the exam.
a lot of people failed, but passing her class is definitely possible if you put the work in, keep up with the readings. I outlined chapters every week for to prepare for her tests which helped. However, if info from lecture is diff from the text, go by what she says in lecture. Don't expect any sympathy or extra help from her, can be condescending
Very hard grader but great professor and if you study very fare tests, read the textbook, every chapter,, get a tutor from beginning,, gives u review of exams and very helpful,, be ready to study
Very tough but worth it.. had her for 209 and 239 and I'm thankful because she teaches you a lot. Definitely read the textbook from day one!!! Dont wait last minute to study, had to get a 90 on the pharm final to pass and I did it, she's not impossible be ready to devote your life because regardless of the professor you'll have to work for it!!
Tough prof for Nur 209 who gives mc and short answers for the three exams and the final. Avoid taking her if you can!!! Read the textbook and record lectures. She expects certain answers on the written parts. Case study each week including the first day of class. ATI's due at certain points. Would not take her ever again. She rushes through lab.
This is your first clinical nursing class, so be ready to work. No matter who you take it with its not going to be an easy A. Read from day 1, don't get behind on the reading. Sit in the front and participate. Write good notes. Read before lecture that way you have an idea of what is going on and can participate. She expects you to do the work.
Gives a paper at the beginning of the semester, work hard on it and as long as you meet the criteria, you will do well. Follow along in lecture and take notes, don't really use the textbook until the end of the semester when you learn types of drugs. Had her for 209 also, but loved her for pharm!
Read the textbook before class and record her lectures. Do not fall behind on the work. ATI's helped with some of the material as well. Tests are not all multiple choice, she usually throws in a mini case study at the end so be prepared. Overall, I thought she was a good professor and learned a lot from her.
Dr. Mannino explains the material so well. You honestly have to put the work in and read read read!!!! First test wasn't so bad. You have to have to study for the patient demo. She clarifies anything you don't understand,a little intimidating.
Worst professor at Molloy !!
Get ready to the textbook from front to back and you won't pass. Drop her now, run for life!
This is nursing school. You have the responsibility of your patient's LIFE in your hands. I LOVED her! Her lectures helped clarify info in all of my other classes this semester. Her slides are great. Listen, take notes & cross references them to the text. You will be so much more prepared for medsurg & real life nursing by taking her.
Condescending and looks down on students. Horrible attitude at times, dont know how she is a professor.
If you read the textbook before class and write down everything she says in lectures, getting a good grade is absolutely do-able. She definitely prepares you for med-surge and makes you feel comfortable and confident for clinical. Don't always listen to the bad reviews- Mannino was a smart professor and i'd take her again!
Lectures aren't bad, don't expect to get out early. Case studies due every week. This class relies a lot on self-teaching from the textbook. Tough grader and not flexible with grading. Do the ATI's, case studies, and get a good grade on assessment demo. It will carry you through low exam grades which are inevitable (especially cardiac).
Alot of people say shes a horrible professor but i loved her as a person and her teaching technique. No doubt shes a bit tough but this is nursing school its better to feel confident and prepared to move on. Read the textbook, take notes, STUDY and a good grade is very possible. Its ALOT of work but she is fair and puts in her part!
She teaches in lab and lecture. Puts lab material on tests, don't forget it. Not approachable
If you record her lectures, read the textbook before class, and take solid notes in class then you will be fine. She emphasizes in class a lot of what is on the test so look out for that! Her tests have short response questions on them as well, which prepare you for the higher level classes. She is probably the best professor I have had at Molloy
Pr. Mannino is extremley smart and a great teacher. However her tests are half written and her notes consist of very little info therefore u need to refer to Cravens for everything. The one thing i loved about her was our physical assessment was mid semester unlike everyone else's. The most nerve racking thing. Just be prepared to work a lot
Her test can be challenging but definitely passable. She has open responses as well. If you want to pass, Pay attention to what she says in class!! For the demo, Make sure you study the anatomy and the landmarks. For cardiac know whats happening in the heart and how blood flows. As long as you study a head of time and PRAY, You will pass.
This class was hard but she made it interesting and easy to grasp. She is challenging but its important to have a challenging professor, it sets you up for semesters to come. Her tests were always fair. You gotta work hard for this class but you learn more than other classes do. She's approachable and always willing to help with test reviews.
Horrible professor! Never had such a horrible time with a teacher that I did with her. Does not care about her students and test were all nursing diagnosis based. I could study for days and still not understand the test.
Her tests are FAIR. Power points are the things she wants you to focus on therefore, I HIGHLY suggest reading both books and you'll be just fine! I!! She deff prepares you for the higher level courses. I am so glad I took her!!
I enjoyed her as a Professor. Do all of the case studies, record her, and don't wait until the last minute to study. She is really helpful, and I am glad she was my teacher for 209.
Professor Mannino is very respected by students. She is a tough professor, but this is Fundamentals where you're thrown into a lot of new material you've never been exposed to before. It's doable if you keep on top of your work, do readings & don't fall behind. I would definitely take her again. She prepares you for upper level nursing classes.
I was not expecting to have her at first since Molloy switched my original 209 class i signed up for but overall she's not that bad. She's very knowledgable and a nice person. Ive learned so much coming out of this class and as long as you do all your case studies, read before class, and balance your time you can pass this class. oh &ATI IS NO JOKE
Be ready to read that textbook from cover to cover! She makes you work hard and you will learn so much! I realized how much she's prepared me for Med-surg 1 after taking her class. It won't be easy but if you work hard, record her, and read that textbook you will do well.
Horrible professor! Never had such a horrible time with a teacher that I did with her. Does not care about her students and test were all nursing diagnosis based. I could study for days and still not understand the test. Did not respect students and didn't help with test review or clearing up any issues!
Professor Mannino is one of the most knowledgeable, helpful nurses and professors I know in an out of class. Approachable, funny, well-liked-- but 209 isn't easy-- you have to put the work in to do well-- take good notes in class, as long as you study everything she says to compliment the powerpoints and do practice questions, you will do great!
took her forNUR209. don't bother getting the textbook, gives more info than u need. Make sure you record her!! Just focus on her slides and the things/examples she gives in class. Physical assessment is a given for extra points so follow/memorize the sheet and know how to assess. Hard grader but is fair.
Absolutely terrible, expects you to know things you have yet to be taught and then won't answer the question if no one does. Readings are super essential and review past classes because she brings up things on tests that she will never mention in class. Also either drags lab or goes too quickly. Tough grader and lots of case studies to be done.
Dr. Mannino is a good professor for 209. She's very likeable, accessible, and helpful. Her first test is hard but the rest of the class is doable! You will learn, but you have to skim the textbook, do the chp questions, and ATI practice questions! I would recommend and take her again. You have to do the work, but once u do it, the class is not bad
Mannino is great for pharm!!! take the time to do the chp questions and skim the textbook. It 's not bad and will help you a lot! She focuses on the concept of pharm math without giving hard numbers to calculate or hard problems -- a blessing! Solid choice and you will learn a lot
Prof. Mannino is a good professor, but her tests are extremely difficult and contain a lot of material. Be sure to study EVERYTHING you learn in class and more. Always do your ATIs and KNOW YOUR MATH SKILLS!
i liked her in the beginning but she went from a 8/10 rating to 3/10 real quick after exam 2. it felt nearly impossible to pass like she was out to get you. ati homework and project will save your grade.
Professor mannino is AMAZING. Shes so knowledgeable, her tests are fair. attendance is mandatory for lecture though because her slides dont say much she just talks a lot. Shes big in participation but you will come out of the class knowing so much. She is funny and sweet and you will LOVE her!!!
Horrible Professor. Would NEVER take again. Her lecture is extremely heavy with not even a break. She expects you to know material BEFORE HAND, even though you have YET to learn it. You can study her tests for DAYS and still fail. Her tests have words not in her lecture but in the textbook. She doesnt even review with us for tests. Avoid her.
Mannino's tests are extremely hard and she does not give any guidelines or review sheets for the tests, not even the final. Her lectures are long and the exams are very in-depth. Be sure to print the slides and write down everything she says.
I found her Pharm 1 class to be harder then my 209 class. She is a nice person but her test are extremely hard. She gives no review or guidance for any of her tests. She is impossible. Avoid taking her if possible.
Prof. Mannino gives very difficult tests and the final itself was hard. The test was supposed to be equally spread out, but was mostly on newer material that had been rushed through in class. No guides, no review sheets, and very poor lectures with no breaks. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!! I would give her 0 stars if I could.
Prof. Mannino gives very difficult tests and the final itself was hard. The test was supposed to be equally spread out, but was mostly on newer material that had been rushed through in class. No guides, no review sheets, and very poor lectures with no breaks. DO NOT TAKE!!!!! I would give her 0 stars if I could.
In terms of teaching, she's good. However you need to study everything for her tests. Recording her lectures are absolutely necessary. Her tests are difficult and she expects you to know everything. Case studies aren't difficult and only worth 5% & ATI, so if you're doing bad don't think that's going to save you. No joke, avoid her.
Two exams, and the second one was ridiculously hard. Both the second exam & final were unfair; the final was mostly composed of things she rushed through just to finish her lecture in time. She's the ONLY professor that puts math on both exams, so trust me, you will use every minute of the hour given to you. Absolute nightmare. Avoid her.
I like her as a person & think she's very knowledgable, 209 is tough but she definitely makes it more difficult. So much material and absolutely zero guidance of what will be on tests. Slides are useless so be sure to RECORD, write down EVERYTHING & don't fall behind! A lot of case studies & a video that barley help your grade. Wouldn't recommend.
Professor Mannino is a great teacher. If you pay attention and take detailed notes, you will be fine. Her exams are very fair and come from the notes. If you are a good note taker, the textbook is not necessary. She makes lab fun and I would recommend her.
Professor Mannino is not as bad as these reviews say. She is a tough professor but as long as you pay attention, take notes, and/or record her lectures you should do fine. She does not give review but as long as you study your notes the tests are very fair. She is very approachable and nice outside of class and cares about her students.
This class was the worst experience I've ever encountered. Tests were ridiculously hard. She gives a group project and isn't even generous when grading it. She makes a 2 credit course incredibly hard for no reason. Only take her for this course if you plan on putting your other classes on hold.
Struggled with tests and assignments throughout this class, and expected the group project to be easy 95-100. However, she decided to use this as yet another opportunity to lower our grades. Was not generous while grading it AT ALL! Does not have the best interests of her students in mind, and never looks to help students boost their grade.
I liked Professor Mannino in the beginning of the semester but my opinion of her definitely changed. Record her lectures and make sure you write down everything she says. I would not recommend her. Her tests are very unfair and she was very unclear explaining the modules. She doesn't give many opportunities to boost your grade.
Professor Mannino is a tough professor to take and her tests are hard. However if you put in the effort and work it IS possible to pass her class. Her powerpoints arent detailed so you have to do extra work outside of class. However, Professor Mannino is very knowledgable. Practice practice practice the math problems!!!
Professor Mannino was one of the worst professors that I have ever had. She is such a tough grader and she really doesn't care whether or not you pass or fail. Her powerpoints aren't very detailed which means you will have to teach yourself a lot outside the class Her tests are impossible and she doesn't give any info re. what will be on the tests.
i got lucky in passing her class. study weeks in advance if you want a shot at -at least a B. In terms of actual pharm content, the worst teacher i've had so far. You're basically on your own, find a study group ASAP, put everything on quizlet and try to memorize. only thing good is that she prepares u for math proficiency. math based class
By far one of the hardest professors Ive ever had, youre completely on your own. She doesnt really prepare you for tests and gives tests very in depth. The final is predominantly on the recent material, even though she says it is equally on everything. The final project is also graded extremely strict. If you want to pass, rewrite all notes!
Ive never met a professor who genuinely doesnt want students to succeed. She makes her tests short, doesnt offer extra credit, and is a stickler for the way she grades homework and projects. She puts trick questions on her test too, even if you know the material well.. there is a chance you will get the question wrong. Awful, awful.. awful.
This is Nursing School not any class you take at a community college. Fundamentals of Nursing is the basic foundation of nursing and Dr. Mannino does a HELL OF A JOB teaching the material. She wants us to Learn / be able to carry the knowledge through out nursing school. She is simply amazing ; you wont regret taking her. You will learned a lot!
This class is extremely challenging. If youre looking for a straightforward professor and notes, this is NOT the class for you. Tests are graded with no leniency and projects are tricky to do well on, so dont even expect it to boost your grade. For a 2 credit class, it is NOT easy to pass, let alone do well! Please avoid her!
Honestly people keep saying she's really hard. She tells you whats going to be on the tests. Yes you need to work for your grade but you need to in every 209 class no matter who your teacher is. Her class is completely doable and I feel prepared for the rest of my nursing years. Take her if you can, you will not regret it!
Dr. Mannino was an amazing 209 professor. Do not listen to the negative reviews, mostly because they are lazy students who do not want to put the work in. Yes, you have to record her lectures and read Craven, but if you put in the time and work then you will do fine. I feel very prepared for the rest of my nursing career because of Dr. Mannino.
Dr. Mannino is a very prepared professor who does an awesome job at delivering course content. If you read and prepare ahead of time you will pass her exams as well as the course. She also provide opportunity outside of class for you to meet with her, in order to discuss your progress. Trust me behind that stern face is a genuinely amazing person.
Dr. Mannino is incredibly knowledgable and is not out to get you like most people say! If you pay attention in class and study the key points she highlights in class it is not difficult to get an A. Her tests are incredibly fair and if you put the work in and she see that then you will have no problem!!
Terrible professor. Her tests are impossible. DONT DO IT!
Worst professor I took. She actually does not want you to pass. Dont take her
Bad professor.
Professor Mannino is very knowledgable and knows what she's talking about but the tests are very difficult and situation based. You have to study hard and pay attention in lecture if you want to pass. I would suggest recording her lectures. The powerpoint have very little information. A lot of what she says is on the test.
I dont think Mannino was terrible, but she wasn't great. with the amount of coursework I had in my first semester. It made it impossible to prepare for her test. Her slides were not useful, the pharm textbook is terrible. There was not much informative support for me to work with, therefore it hurt me in the long run. lll try again next semester :)
Mannino literally vibe-checked a quarter of the class. First test is relatively fine but second test is absolutely unfair. Homework counts as 10% but its not enough to ensure passing. The average for her tests are roughly 80% to failing. WHAT EVER YOU DO , DO NOT TAKE HER FOR PHARM. She only taught math but that's basically it.
Don't let my grade fool you. Dr. Mannino is a GREAT professor. Her lectures are great and I definitely learned a lot. Her tests however are very difficult. Make sure to read and outline the textbook. For the ATI content mastery (she tells you what subjects are being tested on)- READ THE TEXTBOOK FOR IT! The textbook is the key to passing this class
a decent professor for a very hard class. you have to read beforehand, she expects you to know a lot! 209 is much harder than any other nursing class you may have taken prior so be prepared! her tests are REALLY hard and specific, but she blesses you with an easy final worth 35%, loved this class for what it is not cause the prof, but u can do good
Horrible teacher. Expects you to know anatomy inside out even though many dont have an idea of the things she asks for. This is her last semester teaching as a 209 teacher so I dont have to say this but still avoid her!
Dr. Mannino is a nice lady outside of class. However, her lectures are heavy. She provides slides and that's about it. She doesn't give you a framework for the class you just have to know everything. Her tests were a little difficult. Probably won't take her again
I have no idea how this lady is still an instructor at this school. Absolutely horrendous, avoid at all costs.
10/10 do NOT recomend
I had to come back & say I withdrew last semester and it severely impacted my gpa, unfortunate. I took it again this semester and OMG the class was still difficult but I am passing this semester with an B+ with Dr. Osborne. I rmember being so lost in Manninos class & I thought I would fail out of nursing because of pharm. But Im doing amazing now!
There comes a point where you are difficult cause yes its nursing and we need to be challenged to preform our duties but when youre unfairly difficult, bruh. Not saying her class is not doable, but you NEED to record lectures, use textbook which shedoesnt recommend, but use it. She doesnt teach 239 anymore & I don't recommend her for 209.
Dr. Mannino is a very respectful and knowledgable professor. Listen to these tips and you will do great: take quality lecture notes, re write these notes, read the textbook and focus on interventions/rationale, complete practice questions, and put in study time. You got this:)
I dont know why she still teaches at molloy. Her teaching styles are extremely difficult, and she does not explain the material well at all. Pharmacology is hard enough as it is, and she does not put in the necessary effort for her students to do well. By far, the WORST experience I ever had for a college class.
I took Dr. Mannino in the spring semester... honestly she really hurt my feelings and she is unbelievably deceiving. I sound like a wimp haha but she caused my depression. I hate to say it but she makes you feel worthless. She makes you want to reevaluate your life because you aren't good enough. That's all from my end. :(
-textbook -get 100s on ati -study study -do the best you can on exam If you can do these, you can pass but there is a slim chance. If you aren't liked, you're in deep trouble. If you feel out of place for some odd reason and it's still early in the sem, withdraw now. Bad vibes...I should've trusted my gut. I didn't. No one seems to listen at M.
Idk... feeling bad but... makes me feel uncertain and she kinda artificial. If u wanna get laughed at for asking questions or trying to participate, take this class. weird like I just want to learn?? Not sure what is going on here butcovid is driving people nuts and I'd advise you to steer clear if you know what's good. waiting for it to end sigh
Okay she is not a bad person i think, she doesnt know what to say or how to be nice but that doesnt mean she is a villain. lol atleast not for me but I would say keep your eyes open and watch yourslef. I dont even want to go to class tmm LOL im so over the semester. Good luck to those who hopefully dont feel her wrath, I am sorry to those who deal
I am soooo frustrated! This professor shouldnt be teaching at molloy. I came to this school to get the best education, if I would of known I would of had this teacher I would of ran. She doesnt care about any of her students , she wants every single one to fail! All the hard work into this class is a waste! She says Covid is an excuse RUN!!!
Her class is doable to say the least, if you have to take her class. I learned that a lot of the test comes from what she says during lecture, knowing your AP, and using the textbook as a reference/guide. Whatever is in her powerpoint just follow up with that in the textbook. Overall shes not the greatest teacher but manageable.
I hate that I put in my 110% and there are her favs on zoom sleeping in their bed from 7-10 and 12-1 209. Are you kidding me? They have an A- in the class. Diff btwn me and them? I put in work + effort and get qs right, they slack and she laughs + gives a 2nd chance when they get things wrong. 100% true stuff, C- bc of her not liking me. unreal :(
Do not take this Professor if you actually want to feel good about yourself. My mom has been a nurse for 20 years and listened to one of my lectures with this professor and literally said shes very egotistical and arrogant. This Professor expects you to know everything about nursing as soon as you start the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!
I did relatively well but I wouldn't take it again. Don't do it. My parents, siblings, friends, everyone warned me but I didn't realize what a snake this lady is. Those who don't see it are privileged and I am glad that not everyone is feeling horrible, but most are and something has to be done. she enjoys hurting others
can you say cOnDEscenDIng
Honestly, with her test you just never know. Just took her final and I have no idea where that test even came from honestly. Her class is doable if you read the textbooks and take notes during her lecture. But shes not a good teacher and barely helps her students. Asking her a question is pointless.
Idk why these ratings are horrible. I learned so much from Dr. Mannino. Yes she gives a lot of hw but so does every other professor. Its nursing, you aren't going to be handed an A without doing anything. Need textbook. I think her tests were very fair as long as you STUDY. Professor Mannino is not a bad professor, she just holds her standards high
The most stressful class I've taken. she's smart and knowledgeable in the field but definitely not understanding whatsoever. On top of this being a hard semester in general, the circumstances of online made things even worse, not EXCUSES, just reality. If you take her just be prepared, don't waste your money.
Hi - so I see those who aced the class are confused as to why these reviews are bad. I passed but I'm not going to act like this class was a breeze and those who failed are slackers making excuses. The class was difficult. The professor is difficult, to say the least, and I am blessed to have passed. I understand the angry reviews. Plz be cautious.
Yes, I learned from Dr. M. If u study, u will get results but this doesn't apply to everyone. Notice how the ignorant good reviews are getting thumbs down. For her, u must have an easy name, and u must be liked by her. Success from her doesn't matter how much work u put in, it's by chance. Sounds ridiculous but it is true.
Honestly, fundamentals is a hard class , it is a lot on information to learn you have to put in work and read the textbook, a lot of people want to be spoon fed! She is willing to meet for office hours to answer questions, LISTEN AND TAKE NOTES DURING LECTURE, what she teaches you during class WILL be on the test. You have to put the work in!
this class you have to put in the work- it is not an easy class between lecture, lab, and clinical. I struggled throughout the whole semester and I'm so happy I passed. I've had a professor sit there and call the whole class lazy bc we didn't get a test grade she thought we should. Come to class prepared and bring your tissues, she might make u cry
WOW.. that's all I can say. The amount of people that failed 209 is crazy. You would think that doing every assignment on time and being ahead of your schedule would get you a passing grade in this class... but nope! Every class is challenging, but 209 is just something else. good luck to anyone taking her or 209 in general. Also, you WILL cry.
Record her lectures! Rewrite the notes and lectures together and study that. Dont really need the txtbk if u record and listen to what she says. 2nd test is the hardest and will bring grade down. Study from day 1. Stressful but you CAN do it. I am very lucky I passed, but really cant mess up on any test. Hard to get back up. Again, RECORD to pass
Dr. Mannino is quite a strict and intense professor. She requires students to participate and expects a lot of prior knowledge as far as A&P, microbiology, nutrition, etc. You need to take copious notes, read every chapter, and study weekly. Her exams are very challenging. The class is manageable, but DO NOT fall behind. Also, take ATIs seriously!
I did well on the final but for some reason, she did not include it into my average. I failed with a 76.88 because of this. I tried fighting for my grade but she would not listen and she told me that I can't blame her if I do poorly. I got a good grade and she didn't include it. how is this my fault? :(( dean is not listening. no compassion.
Still trying to process how poorly she treated us this semester. Hypocritical, cruel and degrading does not begin to explain her. Feared going to class as she would embarrass and belittle students. Imagine paying top dollar to FEAR going to class? In disbelief that someone as heartless as her was actually a nurse.
Dr. Mannino makes you feel like she has a million other things to do than be worried about her students. Her class is very hard in general and she makes it harder with her rudeness and the way she makes it impossible to approach her with q's. There is a lot of work, so make sure you stay on top of it. I did well in the class, but not bc of her.
The best professor I had at molloy college. You are expected to know A&P, this is nursing school if you did not take your prerequisite classes seriously this class will be extremely hard!! Im on my last year of nursing school and I wish there were more instructors like her. If you genuinely want to learn she will be there for you!!
NUR 2090 is by far the hardest class, but Dr. Mannino is very thorough and gives you everything you need to succeed. Stay on top of the assignments and study everything she says during lecture. I only used the textbook to review confusing topics. This class is tough but doable if you put the time in.
I took this professor for pharm 1,& I have to say her level of dif. was that of a graduate level, was told that I shouldnt be a nurse, judged for doing poorly on exams & I thought my career was over before it began. I reflect back on her class and think from time to time that I wish I could go back 2 tell myself that I'm a nurse now, u all got this!
I love Professor Mannino, she is so good at teaching 209. I am always excited to come to class because of how she teaches the class.
I failed the first two exams and got a 90 in her third and final Passing in doable but you have to study this is not an easy A Also if you are failing reach out to her she is not a monster like these other reviews and will give you advice. One thing she told me was to take ATI seriously and actually do the questions instead of googling the answers.
Professor mannino is always accessible to speak outside of class, but she is a tough grader and doesn't care to make hear opinion about you as a near outloud. I would never recommend her
