Explains things real well. Only negative is that she gives a lot of homework and has homework checks.

She's the best math teacher i've had since high school, if you take her for College Algebra she won't check your home work unless its a worksheet she gave you.

She is a great teacher. She and Mrs. Balesky are two of the greatest teachers i've had. I just wish i knew when they were teaching college algebra. At first i didn't think i was going to do very well in her class but i got an A. She's pretty cool and definitely funny!

she is really easy!!! She helped me understand the math I thought I never could learn! All the sh** I learned in High School was hard for me. Taking her class made it fun and it was easy to learn it that way!All you have to do is do your homework she assignes and the quizzes are done!the tests are based on the homework as well! Good Luck!

Fun and interesting-will get you involved, which aids in the understanding of the material-do homework, and don't be scared to ask questions. MOST IMPORTANT--LAUGH at her wierd jokes!!

Very good teacher. She really understands math. Her class is definately not boring. Will help if asked. Pay attention, ask questions, do work, study and you should do ok. Not an easy class, but it shouldn't be. Highly recommended.

This class has been extremely challenging for me. She gives "speed exams" that I can never finish and keep up with.

Mrs. May is awesome, she is very smart and will probably lose you and not care. She's hilarious, awesome teacher. Really funny, willing to help anyone.

Good teacher. A little immature for a Professor. It is hard to judge Math Teachers. They could have gone into engineering or other fields, but chose Math. If you don't have a PHD, which is why she teaches at Comm. College, and you're a professor, I'm sure you're life would be full of drama too. Just show up, prepare for class, and do homework

If u like teachers who just teach, not for you. She talks about her life quite abit, sometimes annoyingly. This class was super easy but I am a math genius (j/k). Her notes are pretty clear, but when u ask a question sometimes makes u feel stupid. I stopped going to her class for 2 months, and still got a B, but im a genius remember, lol. Ok class.

She is very HOT!!! If you do ten home work problems a night you will make an a. If you hate home work and are smart you will make a c like me!

she is so great..if u have problems outside of school she is willing to work with u..she makes alot of jokes during class(some funny, some corny) she is the best..TAKE HER!! u only need the book for homework and do the homework cuase there is a quiz from it every week..they are easy 100s!

She's an amazing woman but her class is extremely advanced. You need TRUE dedication otherwise you won't pass. She loves math and it comes easy to her. She's a great professor but her exams are super hard and unpredictable. She's a great challenge.

I liked this teacher alot, pretty easy to understand (I was in remidial math 0305) she gives alot of oppertunities to make a good grade, alot of extra credit, bounus q's, ect. You really have to do your work and homework and pay attention. I started slacking on my work and failed test 2 but I started working hard and got an A. Good teacherifyoutry.

I took Mrs. May for Algebra and Stats and think she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you struggle with math and want an easy grade, you might look elsewhere; but, if you struggle with math and have a strong work ethic, she offers many opportunities to make a good grade. She has a great sense of humor and makes math enjoyable. A++++

Great professor! She is very clear, and makes the class so intresting. The class its self is hard but she dumbs it down for all of us that struggle in math. I have taken college algebra with a couple of professors and i could never pass, and this professor helped me endlessly. SHE IS AWESOME!!1

She is a very awesome teacher and teaches well but you have to really understand whats she is teaching because later you will get lost..and she makes a lot of funny jokes it was great but i needed to study a lil harder

She is really helpfulif you really care to study and i was failing this class but ended up with a B miracle but it's only because of her. she works with you and very understanding and is available to help you at any time. the class wasn't easy and if you do your work you are on the safer side. i reccommend her higly

Great and funny teacher.Love her! Easy class, attendance is mandatory, homework 10% of your grade. A few quizzes here and there. 4 tests I believe, which if you did the homework r REALLY easy. She tells you what topics will be on test, so just review through the chapter section reviews. Need some trig background for the course. Recommend her!! :)

I've taken her for trig, pre cal and cal 1. Her classes are hard but she will work with you and is very helpful. She genuinely cares that her students are doing well. As long as you do homework and study, you will do fine in her classes. She's also really funny.

Ended up in her class by accident and enjoyed it so much ive stuck with her from trig all the way thru cal1. She is very helpful and really does care about her students. She is challenging and only recomend her to serious students who are willing to work hard. Her classes are not the kind where you can blow off the hw and expect decent grades.

Took for precal before I realized that I could have just skipped it and gone straight to Calculus. Even if I already knew basically everything in the class, I still enjoyed it and May gives very good, clear notes, and is also quite funny. Would love to have her for stats.

To be honest with you, Ms. May is a pretty funny lady. However, her teaching style is what killed me. I felt like she always told stories in class and when it came time to actually teach all she would do is work a problem on the board and say "That's how you do it!" and then she would move on to the next thing. I wouldn't take her again.

Hard but rewards hard work be sure to budget ur time wisely if u want an A. All her courses involve a lot of work but the upside is even if u get a b or c you will still learn / gain better math skills from her than other teachers who give easy a's

She is hard on her students,expects a lot from us, but she will reward your hard work. learned a lot in her class. Never be afraid to ask her questions,she is always anxious to help.She is a good quality teacher.

I absolutely LOVED Ms. May! She's a fast paced teacher, especially since I took it in the 3 week mini. I hadn't taken any math since the last summer so I was a little rusty but as long as you do the homework, it's very possible to get an A. Not an easy A though, you do have to earn it. Reviews "mirror" tests, but it is not exactly like the tests.

Ms. May is awesome I took her in a 6 week summer class and I actually understood everything she's gives you hw on everything and she always knows how to keep you interested in math! She has a sense of humor which makes everything better! I went 3 times a week for 3 hours and I was never bored! TAKE HER! I wish I could take her for cal :(

Ms. May is awesome and hot. Came in to Calc 1 expecting to die, but came out with an A. All her homework is online and SUPER helpful. If you struggle, do the homework online and you'll pass. 3 projects which are fairly hard , test are straight forward as well.

Ms. May is absolutely wonderful and is the reason I changed to a math major. You have to go to class, pay attention and do homework- it's college! I've had her for 4 out of 5 of my math classes. She's hilarious and if you need help, email her or go to her office; she likes helping if you just ask. She lectures quickly to cover everything so keep up

Extremely helpful. Always willing to work problems you are having trouble with. A lot of work in the class, but it's worth it. If you really want to learn and are willing to work hard, take Ms. May. She's also very funny and friendly and class is never boring. I'll prob end up with an A or B.

She is tough and moves fast in class, but she is very helpful and available if you need extra help, she covers exactly what is on the test. If you go to class and pay attention you shouldn't have a problem. She is funny too! And good looking. :)

Professor May is a phenomenal person in general. She was willing to write me a recommendation letter that was apparently good enough to get me a big scholarship! So needless to say she will go above and beyond to help a student so long as they ask. Also, she loves making jokes and her lectures are crystal clear. Take her!!!

This is the professor you need to take it. Let me tell you, that this is not an easy professor but as long as you do you hw you will be good. She is more than willing to help and answer questions. She is very nice and makes the lectures interesting. I would take her again. 100% recommended

Hands down the best math professor I've had. She's willing to go above and beyond to help you if you don't understand anything. Her tests are challenging. Be warned, she will BURN you on a small quiz in order to prepare you for her tests. This is for your benefit so you aren't surprised come test day. Also, she's hilarious! Great humor.

Ms. May is a great teacher. She will NOT take your BS so if you are looking to just slide your way through the class, she will gladly call your bluff - publicly. She has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor so if you get butt hurt easily I would not recommend her. She is patient and helpful as long as you show your commitment to her class.

Calculus. I took it online, had to come in for final! She is very nice and easy going and definitely a HUGE HELP and caress bout her students. If you are REQUIRED to take calculus or math, TAKE HER!

BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER!For a student who isn't so great with technology nor online classes,this was an easy pass.She really helped me every step of the way.Also, she gives plenty of sources for you to follow through with each chapter.Very quick to respond with a sense of humor She really cares about her students! I took a 3 week mini statistics course with May. Large workload, worked on homework/studying for about 4 hours a day outside of class due to the limited about of course time. Although the class is challenging, Ms. May is great at teaching the material and helping students to understand it (I am not a math person). DO NOT BE LATE TO CLASS.

took a 5 week summer session. she is a very good teacher. she's funny, and very intelligent. tests are hard, but you study and it's fine. one of the best college professors i've had. and she seems to have a personal interest in every student. i would definitely recommend her

She is an ok professor. You can ask questions and she will answer. She will reply emails as well. However, the structure of her test are tough! I found it really difficult because it is different from the review. Unfortunately, I stayed in the class and I got a D. This affected my GPA big time! Very good in math take her Not that good its up to you

I just finished the winter mini for stats with Ms. May and she was wonderful. Not an easy class, and I very much dislike math, but she knows her stuff and does her best to help you. Don't take her if you're very sensitive (dry-humored lady), or think she'll hand out passing grades. Do the required work and then some. This is college, people!

If math is your thing, this class will be an easy A. If math isn't your thing she will be hard, Sherlock. She is hilarious. Seems like no one here can take a few jokes.

I took her for the spring semester and had a great time in her class. i learned a lot considering i very interested in math. you must attend class though because missing a day can hurt you. overall a very great teacher. recommend her over the other proffesors at san jac central.

If you are terrible at math then dont take this class but if you have a decent understanding, study, and ask questions then you will get the grade you deserve. She does offer extra credit, she will help you if you have questions, and she is extremely responsive when it comes the emails. Tests are very hard so study. Summary: tough but fair

Took Stats online during the Spring 2015. Taken her before a couple years ago for College Algebra. She is VERY clear on what she expects. For online stats everything you need, she puts on blackboard. USE you mathlab! It has practice quizzes (DO THEM). Professor May also does voiceovers so she can teach you with her voice! I highly recommend her!

She will NOT review precal topics much if you take Calculus 1 with her. It is hard core stuff. Be prepared.

Ms. May is a GREAT professor. She is tough, but is more than willing to help you understand. Her lectures are clear, she knows what she is talking about and loves it. She likes when you have questions and responds to emails. Homework is not an option, but is SO beneficial for this class. If you are willing to work, I would DO IT. End of story.

Professor May provides so much support for her online classes unlike other professors. She posts video lectures for each chapter and even did an live online test review for the final. The class is not so hard if you do the work on time. I would definitely take her again if I could.

Great teacher overall. She has a very specific sense of humor, but overall cares about the students as long as they put work in. She teaches fast but through.

She is willing to help a student who wants to help themselves. If you don't try than she won't try for you but if you come to her with questions or need some one on one time, she does what she can to make that happen and doesn't leave you in the dark to fend for yourself.

Professor May is AWESOME! Her assignments are very clear and straightforward. If you need help with any assignment she is very quick to respond to any questions you have. Great sense of humor and overall a great course to take online or in person. For the online course we had quizzes after our chapter sections and 3 unit exams and 1 final exam.
