very good class, makes it interesting, she's very nice
Very interesting class, and easy if you go to class, and study for the exams. She is very helpful!
very interesting...keeps you intersted in the material...good sense of humor...also very nice and easy to talk to
She's a great teacher if you know how to take notes and listen at the same time. Always funny and a little vulgar to spice things up. Great, easy class.
not too helpful, pulls tiny comment out of book.Sure looks hot though
She lecures really well and knows her material. Her notes are very organized too. Her tests are extremly hard. Other then the tests it is a great class.
Very clear with her lectures. Make sure you read the chapters, it helps alot. Also take notes on what she says (her stories) and you'll do fine. Overall, fun class.
awesome teacher...funny, very clear with explanations, knowledgeable, and class was fun and interesting! definately recommend but be sure to read the book....tests can be hard
Class was interesting and easy. she was helpfull, but you had to seek her out to get it. She tells plenty of jokes, and to top it off she's hot.
Awful class, horribly notes after notes, made me not want to attend class everyday. The book was extremely expensive and it was not of much use through out the course.
Great teacher! She teaches so well you don't have to look at the book! She's wonderful! Great class!
She is a great teacher! She makes the lectures interesting so you actually want to come. Make sure you read the book though because she will put things on the test from the book that she did not cover in class. I would definately recommend her!!!
Makes what could be a dull subject actually very interesting. Keeps attention by pulling in anecdotes. Very informative. Definitly would recommend for a professor!!!
if you go to class and take good notes you should be fine, reading the book def is benefical, her test can get you. she's a good teacher all in all

She is a great teacher and she makes class a blast. Her voices are hilarious. The tests are all applied tests though. study long and hard for them. You should do fine!
Great professor. Gives lots of notes, but gives chances for extra credit also. Definately is not boring, very easy to pay attention to and not "drift off." Must read book: But it's very interesting and you really do learn a lot.
good teacher
Awesome teacher; definitely one of my favorites! Took her for intro, life span, and am taking her marriage/family psychology class in the fall. would recommend her to anybody. Very interesting and gives extra credit opportunities; do need to come to class
that was a hard class.
She is my favorite professor at uncw. Such a genuine person. Would reccomend her to everyone!
She's interesting to listen to. You won't get bored! I love her stories and silly voices. Easy material if you take notes and go to class pretty readily.
I highly reccomend her. She is an awesome teacher and she will do anything to help you. Her tests are easy if you go to class and take notes. You have to read the book summaries also. She gives some extra credit, and she is a good lecturer. Interesting to listen to! Take her class!!!
I loved going to this class. She make's you want to listen to her and you learn the stuff w/ out even realizing it. her test arent too hard and there are a lot of notes but it's totally worth it.
I loved Mrs. Myers. She is a great teacher, very enthusiastic about what ever she teaches. I had her for Freshman Seminar, I thought the class would suck initially, but I actually enjoyed the class. I learned a lot about various subjects.
Great professor. Made learning interesting
Porbably the best teacher I have had at UNCW. She was expecting a baby the semester I had her, yet was nver ill. She makes learning fun and is great at keeping your attention. Her test are hard I got a C in the class yet I still would recommend her.
Really good class, nice woman. You have to work in it, but it's by no means hard. Just study.
Really nice teacher! Tests are somewhat difficult but she curves them. Take her if you can. She really tries to get you interested in the subject.
Fun class, Jennifer just had a kid so she tells you first hand stories. Very experienced, great lecturer and over all awesome lady! Take her if you can!
Lectures don't help a lot.. most of the lectures are movies-clips or power point but no attendence policy.. She's very interesting and very funny but you've got to read the book because that's all that is tested.. most of class is focused on babies.
I felt like she was alright to listen to in lecture, but her tests were hard. Definitely have to read the stuff for her class, and I also felt like she didn't like listening to comments in class. I don't think I'll take her again because I didn't get the grade I should have, and her explanation for it was dumb.
I found her easy as long as you take GOOD notes and look over the book for main points not covered. Grades based on 4 exams so stay on top of things because one or two bad ones can bring you down quick
jennifer is awesome! i have her at 8 am, yet I wake up looking forward to that class, and am never late. she makes the subject matter very interesting. it's like ahvin sandra bullock teach your class. i highly recommend her!

She is really nice and funny but her tests are ridiculously hard and the class is just based on 3 tests and a final, so don't do bad on any of them. Class can be boring because it is only powerpoint and lecture, but she tries to make it interesting when she can. The only problem is the tests arent based on her lectures or notes really at all...so r
Jenny is great. She's funny, intelligent, and on the ball. She really listens and values hard work in her students. Don't slack in her class and she'll reward you. And you'll end up loving her.
Tests are easy as long as you go to class, take notes and read the book. I got a c- but only because for one of the tests i didn't go to class and bombed but i did fine on the others. Only students willing to make every class should take one of her classes.
Dont know why, but I didnt like her. She talks to the class like you're 5 years old, which was very annoying. Plus, the tests have really picky questions not on the material. I couldnt make myself go to this class.
GREAT professor. one of my favorites! very understand and gives great examples. lectures aren't strictly from notes, she actually tells stories that relate to the material covered. test are difficult, but if you pay attention in class you will learn a lot.
I had Prof Myers for two classes in the same semester. Though her tests are very thorough and detailed, and lengthy in amount of chapters, she is a professor that will teach you things about other people, about life, and about yourself. You will walk away knowing so much valuable, applicable info. I love her and her kids are soo lucky to have her
Great professor. Tests can be a little tricky. If you go to all her lectures and do the chapter reviews you'll do just fine. As far as the class goes, it doesn't really hit a psychological aspect, it felt like more of a health class. Either way she kept the class interesting and she's pretty funny. I'd recommend her.
Was a great class and she made it better than what it could have been. Nothing hard here if you put your mind to it. She can be helpgul if you ask, and study hard for the tests.
Awesome class learned a lot, but it's not as easy as you might think. Just study notes and def. read the chapaters and do the questions at the end.
This is actually a hard class. You have to read and also learn the notes. She loves to put statistics on the test, so learn whatever statistics are in the reading or notes. She is a great teacher though. If you read the chapters and study the notes you should do well, but not an easy A.
Very passionate, tests are midleadingly hard, study class notes! Good professor, just pay attention in class
I had this as an 8am class and sometimes it was hard to wake up and go to, but she definitely made it worth going. She is funny and very enthusiastic and relates what she is teaching to everyday events, especially with her own children. Tests can be hard, but if you skim over the chapters and re-read notes from class, you should be okay.
Loved her!! She is an awesome teacher! I had an 8am class with her my first year at UNCW and even though attendance wasn't mandatory, I wanted to go to class. She relates everything to her personal life and is so easy to get along with, very helpful! You'll never regret taking her class.....EVER.
Moody. Gets annoyed when the class is quiet, then shoots wrong answers down. Strongly imposes personal beliefs as correct. Lectures are filled with ambiguous statistical information Myers cannot back up with further explainations. It would appear though, that I am in the minority in viewing Myers as a poor Prof.
Awesome teacher! She is really funny and interesting. I actually wanted to go to class. I will most certainly take another one of her classes. A great teacher. Attendence is not mandatory but she does go over a lot in class that is not found in the book and is on tests. TAKE HER!!!! :)
She is extremely helpful in and out of class. She post some notes online through powerpoint but not all the time and reading the book will be required if you want to make an A. Its not all so bad though, first of all she's hot. Second there's no homework. And third the test are actually on the material you learn.
Very intelligent woman whos personality can, at times, be a little over the top. Explains things well. Book use is NECESSARY if you want to pass her exams (which are sometimes not representative of what has been taught...) Overall interesting class, plus shes in charge of Practicum. :]
She is such a nice professor! I loved the class, and was sad to see it end today! She makes the class more interesting that it already is. Read the text! (its a fun textbook...you learn a lot.)
Jennifer teaches with an enthusiastic but lecturing style. I do well at getting C's or higher early semester, but I struggled in her class and got F on the first test. Her tests were difficult to study for. Be ready to read a lot if you choose her.
Be prepared to read the whole textbook. The exams only cover the book and never have anything to do with her lectures. Class is pretty boring overall.
Myers is a wonderful and engaging teacher who uses real world examples in her classes. She had the class participate in actual therapy exercises which helped explain the subjects. That said, the class is not easy and you'll need to read your book, notes and blackboard material. Study a LOT.
As one of the few of male students in Human Sexual Behavior, I felt out of place when every lecture led to discussions about female topics, such as PERSONAL experiences with pregnancy. With a blatant agenda, Myers puts a personal spin on all topics, fueled by statistics that lack citation. If you value intellectual development, don't take Myers .
Myers was the worst teacher I've had at UNCW. I don't usually write reviews but I have to warn people from taking this class. She is EXTREMELY disorganized and lectures are always all over the place, very frustrating. The topics are interesting but she makes them worse. Tests are impossible, especially compared to her laissez faire teaching style.
I took this as an online class. It was a very interesting class but her tests were tough. Some of the questions were vague and we were always having to correct her tests. She ended up throwing out a bunch of questions. But it was still frustrating. Overall, it's not a challenging class. You just have to read your textbook and powerpoints.
Professor Myers is a phenomenal instructor. During this course you mostly work at your "supervised site" and you come to class once a week to check up. During class, you mostly discuss your site and issues that you are dealing with. I suggest you find a site that enables you to accumulate a lot of hours. The class is as great as you make it!
I would ignore the tough reviews of this class below. I was one of the few guys in the Psychology of Human Sexual Behavior class and I never felt out of place. Her lectures were good and very real. The tests were very tough, get ready for that but the material was very good. I would highly recommend this class, it is a bit challenging though.
She is amazing. Passionate and caring. She is also very knowledgeable and willing to help if you come to her. I really admire her and so glad I got to take 2 classes with her at UNCW. Also this class is very interesting. Even though I had it at 9am I was always very engaged! She makes it fun! The tests can be tricky, but if you study you'll be fine
Professor Myers is very caring and makes each lecture interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, and grades come from 4 exams and an interview project. Tests can be tricky, but they're all multiple choice. Overall this class is relevant and interesting, and lectures are usually interactive.
great professor, very interesting and leads engrossing lectures! if you're taking the online hybrid, the tests will be a little difficult- make sure you study heavily with your book!
Professor Myer's is a great professor who gives very interesting lectures! The tests are difficult, I recommend reading the chapters before the exams as well as going to lectures and taking notes! It's a great class if you try your hardest!
Dont miss out on a class with her. She is amazing in her lectures.
A bit disorganized at times but her class is really interesting. She's funny and knows her field well. Tests are centered around the boom
Lectures are interesting. Have a couple 5 question homework assignments a week, where you can check your answers for correctness (easy 100). If you do bad on the tests but do all the HW, you'll do fine. Attendance isn't mandatory and she posts all lectures online with her notes. Tests are hard, she doesn't tell you what exactly to study.
I took this as a freshman because it is a freshman level course and she did not treat it as so. Her lectures are interesting but sometimes she gets off track. She did not cover everything that was on the exam. If youre taking this as a freshman I would recommend choosing another professor.
Attendance is not mandatory but Jen's lectures are so interesting that you'll want to attend class. Be sure to do the online homework, it'll save your grade because her exams can be a bit tough and are based on the textbook/homework mostly.
I took the class/online hybrid. Myers is clearly an expert in her field; BUT, she is not the best professor. Be prepared for chapter assignments every week, lectures that are all over the place, and tests that have no study guide. No extra credit and the only grades are four tests and homework (only worth 1/4 of grade).
She is fun, but unorganized. Almost always late to class and never responds to emails, but is funny and quirky. The tests do not always strictly stick to what is covered in class or in the book. There are many hw assignments (usually 4 due each Friday) and they are short, besides the quiz after the book chapter.
Professor Myers is a great person but her class can be difficult because her exams are hard. Go to every class because she says a lot of useful information that will be seen on the exam. All homework is online and can be finished pretty easily. She is very understanding so don't be afraid to ask questions and let her know if your struggling.
I really enjoyed listening to Jen's lectures! However, she is a bit difficult to get a hold of outside of class, and the system for placing student's in practicum needs some serious fine tuning. Some students had a really hard time finding placements. Overall, she's an excellent professor though!
The professor is really good about helping out. You will have to do a lot of note taking and the tests are a bit challenging. Overall, you will have to work for your grade.
Myers is a great professor. She is very interesting and funny. Only downside is she does not respond to emails very often but is always willing to answer any questions in class.
I was online due to the pandemic, and I should have dropped it... DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. This was the one class id been waiting for since freshman year and it was a complete joke. Half of the assignments had no due dates, she would change her mind about due dates, refuses to email back (I've sent about 13, no answer), and really we learned nothing.
Not sure if it because of COVID, but this was the most unorganized, uninformative class. Dr. Myers only taught once a week for 50 mins. (should've been 3 days for 50 mins..) and it was not very targeted and tactful. If you wanted to learn the material you need to read the book in its entirety. I was looking forward to this class and it was awful.
Online course is fairly easy. Do the HW and read the chapters. Use smart learning, and quizlet to help you study. It's split into 4 modules, each module you get about 3-4 weeks to complete and at the end of each module you take a test. You get a powerpoint of notes but it's not in depth for the test. Tests Q's are mostly from smart learning.
This class was not that difficult, and if you are okay with teaching yourself the material from the book, you'll be fine. She lectured once a week, and I stopped going after a few because none of the information was actually necessary to the exam. She also gives you slides, but they're not in depth. If you want to do well, you have to use the book.
She is a very entertaining lecturer but does not do a good job of clearly outlining what you need to know for tests. She is a little disorganized as a teacher but she is a very easy teacher to listen to which makes for interesting classes.
Very poor response times to emails and not helpful when asked for help. Relied completely on students teaching themselves and failed to provide the extra information she said she would during COVID semesters. Did not seem to care about her 366 class in general
Possibly the worst experience I have had with a professor. Fails to respond to students and after claiming that she would provide feedback for the main assignment determining final grade, she failed to do so. Do not take her if you care about learning the material from the professor.
I pretty much taught everything to myself which I personally like. She did provide zooms for those who wanted to attend. All of the coursework was simple, but make sure you study for the tests. My emails were never answered, but normally addressed in announcements.
I had to teach myself everything, she had lectures 1x a week that I attended, but did not find it necessary for exams. It took a long time for assignments to be graded and good feedback was not really given. She did not respond to emails, either. Just read the textbook and you will be fine in this class!
Definitely have to work for studying for the tests, but the lectures were easy to understand and the classes went by very fast.
Shes really nice! you definitely have to make time to study to pass the test. It was similar to my AP psychology class in high school. Shes so sweet tho and always checks in on her students! Homework assignments are on connect and its easy.
The lectures were always very interesting! Also a very nice professor and seems to care about her students. However, I attended class everyday and still found myself studying for hours to do halfway decent on a test. She goes off track during lectures and only covers maybe half the material and you have to teach yourself the rest of the content.
Dr. Myers is one of the best professors I've taken at UNCW. Her lectures are interesting and informational. You do have to read the book, but it's not too bad. Assignments are clear and relevant. She truly cares about her students. Tests are not hard but you do need to study. I would absolutely take a class with her again.
Professor Myers is super nice! Her lectures are very entertaining. You need the access code for the homework. The homework is easy. She only covers some of the material for the test in class and the rest you have to learn on your own. The tests cover a lot of material, so it is necessary to study for hours in order the get a good grade on them.
Mrs. Myers was an awesome teacher and she was great to listen and learn from every class. Her lectures were always entertaining and she always stays true to herself. The homework isn't bad at all but definitely be ready for the tests throughout the semester. I would 100% recommend this class to anyone.
Myers is really interesting and I found myself learning a lot of random facts from her lectures. However, she tends to go off track from material during class, so I found myself doing most of my learning from the PowerPoints and textbook on my own. Wouldn't recommend if you learn best from in-person lectures, but it was always a fun class.
Favorite professor so far. I am the most adhd student but class was extremely entertaining & I thoroughly enjoyed it. She was very understanding and answered questions very well. Tests are lecture based but I think you could pass just reading the textbook too. I am not the best student but Myers made it rlly easy to wake up at 8am and go to class.
Absolutely loved her. Tests are multiple choice. You have a month to do the HW. Shes really funny. Lots of reading tho if you want to get good grade.
This course is all about getting an internship and Dr. Myers is extremely helpful with that. You will have a meeting before the semester even starts to start looking for an internship. She gives great advice for Graduate school as well
By far the best professor i have had so far! if you attend class and do the homework you will be ready for the exams. she also gives many opportunities for extra credit in her exams and is always available to talk after class or during office hours for students who need help. in would definitely recommend taking psych classes with her.
Loved Jennifer, applies real word examples to support her teaching. I attend all her lectures, she tends to stay on one topic for a long time. Took awhile to finish the chapters, I did a lot of self-teaching and just listened during lectures. Super nice and helpful.
The absolute BEST! Her classes are not mandatory but so worth your time. She is so funny and engaging. I truly learned so much from her class and cared about my grade.
Dr. Myers is an amazing teacher, she truly cares about her class and her students. There are only four tests and a few homework assignments. Make sure to attend her lectures or else you will struggle on her tests. She makes the information very easy to understand and gives great psych studies to help you understand different topics!
Jennifer was awesome. As long as you do the homeworks required and keep up with the readings you'll do fine. Class isn't mandatory, but it's fun and definitely helps. Exams were 60 questions and relatively difficult but not impossible. Definitely a great intro class to psych
Best teacher for psych. Very easy to talk to and will give advice- even advice that doesn't regard the class. Extremely charming and makes lectures interesting! Memorize homework on smartbook's answers and read over the study guide and you'll get 95s on tests like i did. Very understanding as well.
Dr. Myers has been awesome. In-person exams but she prepares you for them. She gives you a lot of time to do the module assignments which I love.
Jennifer is a really charming and caring woman. Her lectures are hilarious and fun. Preps students very well for exams and gives a lot of time for homework for each unit. Willing to answer questions and help out if needed. Overall I really recommend taking one of her classes, you will learn a lot!
I literally love Professor Myers. She is such a great teacher and is super passionate about this topic. She is very funny and keeps the lectures lively. She has a lot of examples for her lecture to connect back the information. Go to class because there are things that she only talks about in class that are on the tests. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!
She may be an "interesting" professor, but this class is not an easy A. She does not lecture the material but goes on random tangents and expects you to know everything by the exam without any guidance. Her exam questions are so random there is no way to prepare and you never know what to expect. Would never recommend taking her.
This is the best professor ever. Jen is very caring and offers a lot of homework but it balances out your grade. Although the lecture is not mandatory it honestly helped me on the exams and they were great. You do have 6 experimental credits required by the end of the semester but they're very easy.
Although I struggle with staying focused in lots of classes, Professor Myers really captured my attention and taught psych in a way that made it applicable to real life & easy to understand. You do have to do a lot of reading on your own outside of class and there's a lot of HW, but grading is easy and she's a very funny and caring professor!
I found that she places an inordinate emphasis on strict adherence to referencing formats and other minor syntax elements from the syllabus. While it's essential for students to follow guidelines, it appeared to overshadow the substantive content of the work. Feedback often lacked insights into the actual substance and depth of the assignments.
She's really nice but you teach yourself most of the material through the homework. The tests are pretty hard.
SUPER nice and makes lectures fun and interesting, always has a story to tell! tests are not too hard if you study the material and take notes! I would definitely recommend
She is amazing and I would highly recommend taking her for 105. She uses McGraw Hill as homework and the textbook. The homework is so easy and you get redo's. If you know all the information in McGraw Hill and the textbook you'll be ready for the exam. The exams aren't that hard, but you need to study for a couple days and know all the information.
Great professor overall. I would highly recommend taking her class for PSY 105. There are only 4 tests that are each 50 questions which determine the majority of your grade; however, she gives 12 homework assignments per test which helps balance the grade out. TAKE HER CLASS. Her lectures are always very interesting.
you are only graded on homework assignments and exams. what she teaches in class is nothing compared to her exams. Only way you will pass the class is if you read the book. She is really funny though and talks about some interesting things but I thought going was a waste of time since nothing will be on the exam.
Take this class with literally any other professor. She does not prepare you for her exams (which are pretty much your entire grade), goes on irrelevant tangents and doesn't focus on important material. There is so much material, and very little resources to help yourself. Didn't enjoy her class at all.
Professor Myers is super kind and sweet! She is great at giving advice and makes sure that she creates a safe environment. This course was a bit challenging and I found myself putting the most effort into this class. Lots of assignments and exams are pretty tough, but I love her energy and smile!!
Professor Myers is incredibly kind and knowledgable. Her lectures are super interesting, and she really goes into depth explaining things. You do have to also read the textbook to do well on the tests, but if you do you'll easily pass. You can tell she cares a lot about her students. She is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. Take her!
Taking her class rn. changed the exam date with no heads up to multiple students. i don't enjoy her way of lecturing, she doesn't really explain or help you grasp what's really going on in the class. homework doesn't really match her slides. however she is really nice but interesting.
If you are taking Psy 105, do not take this professor. Her test is very complicated and I never felt prepared even though I spent hours studying.
Jennifer Myers is a phenomenal and charming professor whose advice goes beyond the classroom. Her insights helped me grow academically and provided invaluable lessons for my mental health journey. Attending every class is a must—it's where the real value lies. I highly recommend her classes to anyone looking to learn and grow.
The lectures were very interesting and engaging. I highly recommend reading the textbook and completing the "smart notebooks" before each test. The final is not cumulative.
Professor Myers has a lot of experience and is more than qualified in this subject with plenty of real-life examples. However, the homework assignments are worth so little that the tests really do matter, and NONE of the tests have any sort of study guide. You have to go through all the lecture slides and hope that you are studying the right thing.
Absolutely avoid this professor. First, her syllabus was from the previous semester so all of the dates were wrong so it was not clear when anything was due. This class was online and she never responded to a single email. The TA did all of the grading. I ended the course with a 93% according to the outdated syllabus, but she gave me a B+
Professor Myers teaches an engaging class, though you'll need to put in the work on your own. Use Unstuck AI and the textbook to ace the exams - her lectures are interesting but don't cover the full scope.
NOT accessible outside of class. Don't bother with emails or office hours since she won't ever respond. The canvas layout is a disaster with assignments and lectures going back to 2018. She's nice, but absolutely not helpful.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS -Highly unorganized -NOT direct about expectations -TESTS ARE HORRIBLE! Idk where she pulls her test questions from. You can show up every day for lectures, study your notes and the book and not be prepared for her exams. Just do yourself a favor and don't take her class.
Prof. Myers is great! She really cares about her students. I will say she doesn't use specific rubrics but will honestly just give you an A. This course is more about the experience and less about grading. If you are lucky enough to take 451 take Prof. Myers!
Professor Myers is funny and tells good stories, but she does NOT teach the material. I like listening to what she has to say, but nothing she yaps about is on the tests. You have to take the time and reread all her lectures to be prepared for her tests. She does give bonus questions on each exam though!
One of the sweetest and most entertaining profs but gives really hard exams with NO guidance on what to study. People in the class asked throughout the semester for more study materials and were turned down and told the power points and textbook. Half of the material on the exams seems like it came out of nowhere, definitely not the notes or book.
Absolutely sucked at grading as a whole. Did not grade first week assignments until two months later. Assignments are difficult due to the materials used. Lecture notes were not well-written and were difficult to use for assignments.
Took this class online was literally the worst online class I have ever taken. She expects you to use the lecture notes for many things and the lecture notes provide NO useful information. Other than that, it was a fine class but the lectures were not helpful or well written in the slightest. Don't take this class with this professor.
Jen is an awesome professor and has a knack for getting psychology majors interested in the content through engaging lectures. The tests followed most of the topics discussed in class, and homework was simple. She can sometimes take a bit too long explaining and takes a while to answer emails, but otherwise great.
