This is her first year teaching here at Alabama so I will give her some slack for that. She is not an effective communicator at all and talks super fast. She also does not speak in easy terms to understand. She does allow a cheat sheet on tests so thats a plus and I do believe she's genuinely a nice person. She is helpful if you have questions.
Her lectures are quite fast, however, she does let her students use a cheat sheet on the exams and homework is done through my OM lab. Attendance is mandatory. OM can be a bit confusing but if you read and understand the material in the powerpoint slides you should do well. Overall, she is not a bad professor.
This was her first year teaching and I switched into her class from another professor and I'm so glad I did. She's extremely sweet and will help you if you need anything. Homework can sometimes be time consuming but you get like a week or so to do it. She takes a lot of questions off the homework too if they're too hard. Definitely study for tests.
Jenn is was outstanding. She does talk really fast during some lectures but if you ask her to go back or break down what she just said she has no issue with doing that. Class isn't mandatory although she takes roll. Highly recommend going to class though, as she will throw in class assignments that count the same as hw. Go to office before test.
Jennifer is probably a really nice person, she may be the worst lecturer on planet earth. She talks incredibly fast and doesnt finish sentences and every other word is either "AKA" "Guess what" or "Hey". She tries to be really sarcastic during lectures and its all so confusing.
This was her second semester teaching and although her lectures can be extremely confusing, I went to weekly meetings with her to go over the material we learned in class. This helped me tremendously and she let me take the tests in her office which also helped my grade. Homework will take hours to do unless you go to the OM lab. 6/10.
She yells at us, a lot. Like she starts class every day yelling at us to be quiet. Always attendance quizzes, lectures are boring, tests are hard. I know nothing about Operations Management and we're a month in. Avoid if possible.
Operations Management is a hard course to begin with, but she is not that bad of a professor. I am a B/A average student and I feel like her tests really aren't that bad. She never uses the full class period and tends to take off hard HW questions. You get a cheat sheet on your test to put whatever you want on it. I would take her again.
OM is a hard class but I would definitely take her over Chilcutt. Compared to what I've heard from his students her tests are much easier. For example, on the first test the average grade on his test was a 60 while hers was an 80. Most of the test questions come straight from the book
She does an attendance quiz every class but she almost always ends class at least 20 minutes early. You're not penalized for not coming to class, only rewarded with extra credit if you don't skip a lot. OM was supposed to be hard but you get a cheat sheet and she covered like 3 chapters less than other sections so not much you can complain about.
Jen is really down to earth but don't deviate from the syllabus. She doesn't give extra opportunities if you forget to do homework. She's always in her office and is always available to help. She'll explain things over and over and she'll help you with homework. The same applies to OM 300.
She's not a bad teacher, her class just really isn't enjoyable in anyway.
Overall, a very good choice for OM 300. 2 bonus points on final grade if you show up to 90% of the classes, and you get a cheat sheet on exams. She made a usually difficult class very easy to succeed in.
OM 300 is a difficult class, but Nunnelley is the way to go. Lecture heavy, but you can make a full page cheat sheet for tests which is very helpful. Tests are mainly based on slides. She is as easy as possible to listen to for OM, and at the end of the semester gives a good amount of extra credit. If you have questions, go to her office for help.
OM was not the hardest class ever, but it wasn't the easiest either. Jen was a great instructor, she printed off examples and went over them with you in class, which was extremely helpful. Homework every week, but it wasn't terrible if you used the tools that were provided in my OMlab. She's very straight forward and always willing to help
Jennifer constantly curses in an obnoxious way. Her lectures are annoying and not really relevant to her exams. Exam 1 glitched and we all got multiples of the same question. She does not curve. Everyone has to take this class and she makes it harder than it should be.
Jennifer Nunnelley is probably one of the best professors at the University of Alabama. She is young so we can relate to her very easily and she makes class interesting. She is always available for questions in her office and she is the type of the professor that wants her students to succeed. Take her if you have the choice.
Tests are hard so make sure you do your hw. Its hard to study for her tests because they are not similar to the homework at all. She does give some opportunities for extra credit. I learned more from going to her office hours than lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss 3 classes or less you get 1 point on your final grade.
TAKE HER IF YOU WANNA FAIL. The exams are extremely hard.
She seems like a good person, but she is not a good teacher. The class averages on the exams are always failing. Do not take her. Take the other teacher. He is better and easier.
Do yourself a favor and take the other professor. Even if you go to class you will still fail the exams. She doesn't curve more than 4 points. The class averages on the exams have all been failing. Do NOT take her.
3 tests worth 25% each, hw worth 25%. She is always accessible outside of class for questions of any sort. She's super nice and funny and always willing to help. She definitely wants to see her students succeed. 2 points possible extra credit on final grade from simulations, one point possible extra credit from attendance of 90% +.
Horrible. If you are smart and care about your grade do not take her.
OM is a ridiculous class and Jenn is a hard teacher. Her methods of instruction are sub par at best and her exams are impossible. Thank you for ruining my GPA.
This course needs to be changed and Jen needs to be fired. No class is worth this amount of emotional exhaustion. homework is nothing like the exams and extra credit is not that helpful
Jenn is very straight forward with her instructions. All you have to do is go to class and pay attention. She walks you through everything she expects from you on the exam. There is one homework assignment for each module and are just like the in-class examples. The online book also has answers to anything she asks of you.
Not a good teacher for a tough a subject. Doesnt scale her tests fairly like other OM teachers, just ask her how many people passed her class. That will tell you all you need to know. Needs to find a career in OM other than teaching. Worst class of my college career, stay far far far away.
Take her, she's good. I have no idea why people are complaining: the class is not very hard. Questions are mostly out of her slide decks and the math problems are all solvable with the formula sheet. Medium amount of homework. I just went to class everyday, listened, and reviewed the slides the day prior to the exam. She's very nice and helpful.
Im glad she is back teaching at the Alabama. Ive been waiting to rate her. The absolute worst teacher I ever took at 2 different colleges. Take it from a student that made the Deans List in business school . Very disrespectful to students. I loved college and going to class, but she was by far the worst teacher I have ever had or seen. Never Ever
Jen Nunnelley is awesome! She really cares and gives clear instructions on expectations and how to be successful in her class. She is lecture heavy which is okay because she is funny and not to bad to look at. Also, she tests directly from her exam review sheet and slide deck. She allows a cheat sheet and provides a formula page. Take her for OM.
Really long and tough homeworks, and the exams are near impossible. I have never received a good grade on one of her exams yet, and I have made presidents list every semester. This class is killing me, avoid it!
Attendance technically isn't mandatory, but if you miss less than 3 classes, you get an extra point added to your final grade. Exams 1 and 2 aren't bad, but exam 3 is cruel and she rarely curves. Chilcutt supposedly has harder exams but the curves are large. Her lectures are also completely unhelpful. Don't take Nunnelly. She's a 0/5, not a 1/5.
This is a challenging course, however, I enjoyed taking Jen. Shes super chill and relatable and willing to help you if you ask. Good thing about this class is that the homework counts as much as a test. A couple of the homeworks are time consuming but other than that its not too bad. Test 3 is the most brutal of the 3!
The class itself does not need to be as hard as it is made. Be prepared to take tests in basically a different language. It's worded as if you should know the in and out of every single concept. The math is not multiple choice and the concepts are not clear. I put about 2 weeks of studying in and even that wasn't enough. GOOD LUCK.
Jen Nunnelley straight up is a terrible teacher. If you have to take OM do not pick her. some people may say you can do it but you can't. Nobody picks this as a major and she is terrible at teaching and at making tests. I could bet you she would fail her own tests 10/10 times. This teacher has got to go, or just don't take the class with her.
TERRIBLE test writer. **WILL PUT MATERIAL ON THE TEST THAT HASN'T BEEN IN THE HOMEWORK YET** I saw questions on test 2 that I didn't do in the homework until 2 weeks later. Terrible at explaining what will be on the test, DO NOT TAKE unless you love reading ahead and teaching yourself!
She just isn't a great teacher. Homework does not relate to what's on the tests, and neither do the reviews. Her lectures are also unpleasant to witness. Not the best teacher on campus.
THIS CLASS IS NOT HARD! Before I took this class, all I heard about it was how hard it was and how everyone fails and stuff along those lines. That is not the case at all. This class, at its hardest, uses basic algebra, however most of the time its multiplication and division. The homeworks are EXACTLY like the tests. She talks fast but covers all.
Ms. Nunnelley is a good teacher. She is straight-forward and tells you everything you need to know for the tests and homework, and usually points out specific test questions during lecture. The powerpoints aren't laid out well in my opinion, you need her lecture to go along with them. Ms. Nunnelley is blunt, but smart, and very nice one-on-one.
Everyone complains about this class, it is a hard class but she is a good teacher. She gives you a cheat sheet and all the information you need is the powerpoints and practice homework problems. She is so nice, just reach out!
Sometimes her lectures stray a little off topic and get a little rambly, but she gives you exactly what you need to succeed in the class. You get a formula sheet and a cheat sheet on tests. Some homeworks take a long time, but she gives you tips to make them easier. If you come to class, pay attention, and do the homework you should be fine.
I love Jen, everyone who says that she is difficult clearly doesn't try hard enough. OM is hard in general but she makes it easy, helps you in every way possible but doesn't put up with BS. If you take her class seriously and show that you care, you will do well in this class.
Did not find this class to be nearly as hard as its reputation, and Prof Nunnelly was great. Explained material well, gave fair tests with lots of info beforehand about what would be on it, and let you have a full cheatsheet to bring into the tests. Class was pretty dull but OM isn't exactly exciting stuff so not her fault. Plus EC for attendance
Not every one loves Nunnelley but I did. She is a really great teacher, in her lectures she wants to actually help you. She provides power points and study guides for tests. She is ALWAYS accessible outside of class and wants to help! You have to work in this class but if you do it will pay off. I suck at math and did fine in this class.
Lectures are extremely dry but luckily, attendance is not mandatory and all the slides are posted online. If you go over them and do the homework, the tests are pretty doable. Nunnelley is extremely accommodating and does her best to make sure her students succeed. OM is said to be more difficult but it really isn't too bad with Nunnelley.
Very helpful teacher if you reach out to her. Also, sends out emails with a picture of her foster dog every week! Offered a chance to drop your lowest homework score and also a chance to receive 2 points bonus on final grade. She also allows a cheat sheet on the test. Very hard class, but if you put in the effort you will pass!
I took her for the summer semester through COVID and she wasn't bad. The lectures she posted were stock videos so I didn't watch, but if you can use the book to do the HW and practice those things, you'll be fine. Her tests aren't too bad and she does curve a little each test. Also, 2 bonus points for simulations.
I feel like OM concepts and calculations aren't very hard, but this class was very difficult. Nunnelly is nice, fair, accessible and does everything she can to help you do well, but her tests are HARD. I did very well on all the homework and understood the concepts, but her test questions are worded very tricky which leads to a LOT of confusion .
This class was hard to grasp. However, If you reach out to Nunnelly, she is usually always available and likes to help. Tests are not easy, but she curves exams in addition to giving simulation points which bring your grade up 2 points.
Class is not hard if you understand the homework and ask her questions. She is always available and willing to help. If you know how to work the problems then you should be fine. Don't get tied to the homework because its going to be worded a little different. Other than that the class is fine. You do have to put in work its not an easy A class.
I have been an A student all throughout college, but Jen seeks to fail students. She cancelled her scheduled lectures saying, "You guys don't need me to teach every class". She went at it with a student for simply disagreeing. Half the class went to the dean about her. To top it off, she set the SOI bonus at 90%, and we got 89.8, yup. No bonus. RUN
I got an A, but majority of these reviews are cap. No joke the worst professor on this campus. Cancelled lectures constantly, and doesn't teach. Take Chillcut.
Literally my favorite professor at bama. Idk why she has such low reviews because if you do the work the class is easy and she does everything she can to help. Pretty chill as a person and a little strict as a teacher but if you actually plan on paying attention and doing work, youll love her.
Please avoid her at all costs her exams are badddddd
She is the epitome of a teacher you should never take up in college. I have taken her for two OM classes (300 and 305). She is constantly solving problems wrong in lectures and is really just a weird women with her obsession of dogs. She tries to relate by swearing in class but just comes off awkward. Save yourself now and dont bother with her!!!!
She has no clue what she is doing, very frustrating to watch lecture. I would advise anyone possible not to take her if you are trying to learn from the professor...
Professor Nunnelley gets a bad rap for no specific reason. She does what she can to help prior to exams and answers any questions. The class can be pretty difficult because there are so many terms and formulas. To help with this, she gives both a cheat sheet and a formula sheet for exams. She also send pics of her foster dogs each week!
DO NOT take her. She is terrible her homework is completely different than the tests. You get a formula sheet but sometimes the formulas need are not even on the sheets. Do yourself a favor and take Chilcutt. She seeks to fail her students.
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR, CANNOT TEACH FOR $&@! SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO REMORSE FOR ANY STUDENT AND WILL NOT HELP YOU IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE
Everyone saying she is a bad teacher just didn't put the work in for the class. OM 300 is one of the hardest classes in the business school no matter what professor you take. If you don't watch her lectures and do the homework you will fail. Definitely need to put work in to get a passing grade, but she does her best explaining the concepts.
Professor Nunnelly was probably one of the absolute worst teachers I have ever had. Aside from her not being an adequate teacher, at all, she was also extremely rude and inconsiderate as well. This course is already difficult, and her lectures made it that much more. I would NOT take her if you take this class, she is truly the actual worst.
Class, in general is hard but try and take Jen if you have the chance. Her optional lecture videos (for online class) are super helpful and the only thing you have to do to learn. If you have her in person, highly recommend going to class. She's very willing to meet outside for help on homework/exams. Def hard class but the'll work to help you pass
I really hated this class (i found it boring and her lecture style unbearable), I think i maybe attended 3 lectures throughout the entire semester and got an A, because her lectures add nothing to her powerpoints. People on here make this class sound crazy hard, it's really not, you just have to study strategically.
The curriculum is screwed. Maybe people would do better than an average of 71 in this class if the school had their professors actually teach kids in class how to do the math that ends up on the tests. All we do is look at definition slideshows. Teach the actual test material!
Jen is hands down the worst professor I've ever had in college. Not only she doesn't care about her students but all of the lectures have nothing to do with on the test. Do yourself a favor take this course at an Online University because no matter who you have OM is a dog sh*t class and Jen makes it 10x worse....
The class overall was not that interesting but this is not my major so I would over-look that. She is helpful by doing reviews for tests. Also allows for "cheat sheets" on the tests. She's very nice to students and you don't have to go to class if you don't want to. She is accommodating and listens to what students say. I would recommend taking her
Jen was an average teacher. She showed up to class drunk occasionally and I found that entertaining!
Jen is a decent professor, but her expectations are clear and the course is structured relatively easily. If you go to class and participate you should get at least a B, just make sure to do homework ad the extra credit she has. Cheat sheet on tests but a pretty boring lecturer.
Id rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than listen to her voice
I'm a senior, and Jen is hands down the worst professor I've ever had here. Do not believe anyone that rates her a 4 on here, it's probably just her trying to boost her own rate my professor score. She is a HORRIBLE teacher. Going to her lectures are not helpful at all, she literally just stumbles over her words and could care less about students.
Although I got an B+ in this class it was my worst experience so far throughout college. We got a 85% on our SOI and we needed 90% to get an extra point on our grade. This drunk women named Jen wouldn't give us the point. It is just incredible how little she cares about her students. Its almost like she is just in it for the money !!!!!
Take anyone else... this is one of the hardest teachers I've ever taken at UA. I've heard all of the other sections/teachers are much easier.
Where do I begin... easily the worst Professor on campus. If u have the option to take Chillcut, do it. This lady has mental issues. She makes awkward jokes and statements that make you question her sanity. She has no remorse for anyone. She is not cool to talk to and super unrelatable. Her 100+ slide powerpoints and homework dont help at all.
Makes weird remarks and doesn't teach well. She definitely got bullied as a kid and takes it out on college students just to feel something.
This professor gets a bad rap because the material she teaches is super difficult. However, she will help you as much she can, seriously. Go to her office hours or chat with her if you have the chance. She's a lot of fun to work with. If you're an OM major, she's an invaluable connection. If you like math and tech, this class will be really easy.
She's incredible. The class is indeed the hardest in the business school. However, if you take it and ask for help, she will baby step you through the entire class, as long as you do wor. The class has legitimately made me smarter and better at excel. She's a phenomenal professor. She's challenged me and made me a much better student and smarter.
Jennifer as a teacher is average, she's not amazing per se, but she's also not terrible. OM 300 is just a difficult class as is. As long as you make an effort, you'll be fine. She's very accessible and tries her best to help, but you have to reach out otherwise she'll never know. I personally like her quirky personality and weekly pupdates.
I absolutely loved her so much. She is a very caring person and wants the best for her students. Personally, the way she explained things made everything make sense considering this is a difficult course. Put in the effort in learning the material, and practicing problems is key before a test! If you're deciding to take her this is your sign!
She is extremely test heavy and gives minimal extra credit. Try and take the other OM professor if you can.
She's a nice lady but if you don't have Excel experience prior to this class you will fail. This is unfortunately the situation I was in; she just does not help you if you're not already pretty well versed in Excel. It doesn't help that the in-class assignments she gives have very little to do with what you're taught.
Nunnelly is an awesome professor. Need to attend class so you don't fall behind though. Overall, I would definitely take her again because she is so personable and knows what she is teaching.
Easily the worst educator I have ever experienced having to take. She doesn't care about her students and seems to enjoy giving bad grades. Her tests are significantly harder than her practice tests and there are parts that usually show up that you have to figure out on your own. If you can, I would definitely suggest taking any other professor.
Jen was awful. Test material did not match up with homework or practice test. Significantly harder. Not enough time to take test. Does not care about her students. I went to pretty much every class and we barely went over math material for test. Test are pretty much all math.
One of the worst teachers I have had. Considering I needed less than 1 point to pass this course. She gave me a very hard extra credit assignment and told me everything on it had to be 100% correct to pass the course. I didn't even receive all the necessary information on the extra credit assignment to complete it. Terrible experience.
This class is definitely difficult, but she made it much easier. I can tell she cares about us students, even though I took this online. She communicated with us often via email about assignments, exams, etc. Exam review sessions were very helpful. Also, she was very quick to responding to emails.
I wouldn't take this class again with her or recommend her teaching to anyone that I know. Teachings aren't closely related to homework or exams. Homework isn't too bad once you teach it to yourself. Exams are nothing like any previous work leading up to them and extra credit is nearly impossible. Wouldn't recommend!
I took Nunnelley for Summer II. While attendance isn't necessary, there are in class questions which are a part of your grade. The exams closely follow the posted overviews so I recommend using mainly those for the cheat sheet and to study. She tries to crack jokes and be relatable, so overall this class was enjoyable and possible to succeed in.
Lectures a lot and talks very fast. Is not nice to students who need extra help. So much homework that is basically all busy work. She gives cheat sheets for tests but is very strict about them. She might not be the best but she's definitely the one to take for OM 300.
The only resources she gives are lecture slides from class, and they are the student version so a lot of it is blank. You can't go in to review the homework after its due. Doesn't really give much direction when it comes to what to focus on for tests, but it doesn't matter cause there are no resources on her blackboard.
Nunnelley was extremely hard and was also very unforgiving. She blames everything on the student and was rude to me in email. I will most likely have to take this class again but will NOT be taking it with her.
Jen immediately spoke of her bitterness about not having a doctorate despite her "efforts." She is awkward, outlandish and seems to take pride in showing little consideration to her struggling students. There are ways to gain respect from students other than screaming at them for packing up or being condescending about what we "should already know"
I really don't understand how she has such a low rating. OM 300 in itself is a difficult class, however I really believe she made it easier. Shes loud, understanding, and gives packets to walkthrough every math concept you learn (which the other OM professors do not). The excel can be a pain, but just do class problems and use excel on HW.
Don't understand why she has low reviews, but I thought she was good! She gives clear instructions on the graded assignments and hand's out "practice packet's that you should do. I would definitely SHOW UP to class because she walks through excel and thus, makes the hw a LOT Easier. Doesn't respond to emails but will talk after class.
Exams are very difficult, her study guides are of no help, expects you to know most material already.
The syllabus seems scary, and she pretty much sticks to it (i.e. not changing grades for extenuating circumstances). Allows a cheat sheet for tests, and they didn't cover a whole lot of information. Sometimes test/quiz questions are only in the textbook, but not enough that you have to do the readings if you watch the lectures. (I took online)
Jenn is so overhated on here. She is extremely clear when everything is due, she teaches what will be on the exam then releases class, which is a lot to ask for with some of these professors. She won't round your grade which can be annoying, but she is clear about that from the start. She makes OM 300 as simple as it can be.
Admitted on the first day of class that she was going to be a b**** for the semester and stuck by her word.
She is super friendly, responds to emails, and always TRIES to answer questions but is just not a good prof. Questions are never actually answered, the lectures are easy to get thru but the exams are extremely difficult, and she said she "had" to give us a study guide so it purposely didn't cover what was on the exam & wasn't helpful AT ALL
THis professor is SO UNDERRATED! She is kind and responds right away if you have any questions. Her lectures are extremely easy to follow and interesting and if you simply pay attention you will do GREAT in the class. She explains things very well and honestly this has been one of the best, most cohesive classes I have taken here at Alabama! :)
She is a great professor, the course is hard and you do have to study for the exams which study materials were found easily through the lab that was provided. She is clear in her expectations for students and is extremely kind. Attendance is not mandatory however to be successful I find that showing up is crucial to this course.
would advise anyone to NOT take her! attendance is so mandatory and she's not a good teacher. goes by way too fast and there's only 3 extra credit opportunities that are impossible. this class was awful and I'd rather sit through daily accounting lectures than this.
I took Jen for 300 and 305 (305 is a super hard OM major class), and she's awesome. She treats you like you're actually a person and not just a number. She gets a lot of bad reviews and I don't know why. If you actually go to class, she is a great lecturer and you will learn everything you need to know.
The most miserable style of teaching I have had to endure at this university
I went to every single class and studied for 10+ hours for every single test and still did awful. Tests are a majority of the grade and she only offers 3 total extra credit points. She goes way too fast in class and her tests are way harder and very different than any of the homework, which is what she tells you to study.
The class is pretty challenging, but Jennifer makes it manageable if you stay engaged. The lectures and practice packets are super helpful, plus unstuck ai was a lifesaver for exam prep.
Show up to class and you'll be good. She is very nice and helpful.
She was pretty good. She understood the material well but delivery could be a bit over the top at times. The class felt more like a highschool one at times due to flamboyant complaints or comments. Overall a nice professor though and she gives you opportunity to get extra credit through attending SOMS meetings that are usually helpful anyway.
Lover her! She makes an effort to build personal relationships with everyone and it makes class super fun to do! OM305 is one of the hardest classes in Culverhouse and I looked forward to going everyday because of the fun we all had. The content is hard regardless, so might as well have fun!
Off the bat, she takes pride in making the class hard, but the material itself isn't too hard, but rather the course is difficult to take since office hours and lectures don't cover a good portion of the materials on test or homework. A lot of parts of the class is a learning curve since a lot of important material that should be cover isn't.
Hands down the worst professor I've ever had the displeasure of taking a class with. Not only is she completely inaccessible and acts like she hates you, she also makes that clear through the fact that her tests are a giant trap intended to trick you. This course is hostile and the professor has made it that way. #getanewjobbcteachingsnot4u
Basically the sole reason my graduation is delayed. Failed me because I missed a stupid “sign up window” for an exam. Terrible class. Hard material. Impossible to learn. I thought the point of class was to help us succeed, but this class really made it feel like we were meant to fail.
The class is very lecture-heavy, and boring at times. She's also rude on occasion, but the course itself is structured clearly. There are multiple attempts on all homework assignments. Most exam questions come directly from the study sections in the book. As long as you complete the homework and extra study on McGraw Hill, you should be fine.
OM300 is just a hard class in General but you can literally pass this class by doing all your work and getting around a 60 test average. She is a pretty good teacher I don't know why she is getting hated on.
Do not take!
